L'invention concerne une machine à cintrer (1) comprenant : une table inférieure (12) comportant un support de matrice inférieur (18) ; une table supérieure (14) qui comporte un support de matrice supérieur (20) et qui se déplace verticalement par rapport à la table inférieure (12) ; un obturateur (24) pour ouvrir et fermer une région cible à partir d'un côté inférieur de la table supérieure (14) comportant le support de matrice supérieur (20) vers un côté supérieur de la table inférieure (12) comportant le support de matrice inférieur (18) ; un mécanisme d'entraînement d'obturateur (28) pour déplacer l'obturateur (24) dans des directions d'ouverture et de fermeture ; et une unité de détection (30) qui est disposée sur une partie bord inférieur de l'obturateur (24) lorsque l'obturateur (24) se déplace dans la direction de fermeture, pour détecter une interférence entre l'obturateur (24) et un objet.
