Definitions
- the present invention relates to thermoplastic resin compositions and molded articles made therefrom. More specifically, the present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent eco-friendliness, flame retardancy, heat resistance, impact resistance, and balance of physical properties, and molded articles manufactured therefrom.
- Polycarbonate resin is an engineering plastic with excellent transparency, impact resistance, heat resistance, and flame retardancy, and is applied to various fields such as electrical/electronic products, OA devices, automotive materials, and construction materials.
- glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate resin is widely applied in products requiring high rigidity and dimensional stability, and has excellent flame retardancy, so it is widely used as an exterior material for electrical/electronic products.
- BPA Bisphenol A
- polycarbonate resins, phosphorus-based flame retardants, etc. that generally contain BPA.
- the number of parts using BPA-free materials such as polyester resin is increasing.
- polyester resins used to replace polycarbonate resins have the problem that flame retardancy, impact resistance, etc. are greatly reduced.
- thermoplastic resin composition that is excellent in eco-friendliness, flame retardancy, heat resistance, impact resistance, and the balance of these properties.
- the background technology of the present invention is disclosed in Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2020-0137836, etc.
- the purpose of the present invention is to provide a thermoplastic resin composition that is excellent in eco-friendliness, flame retardancy, heat resistance, impact resistance, and the balance of these properties.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a molded article formed from the thermoplastic resin composition.
- thermoplastic resin composition includes about 100 parts by weight of a polyester resin containing ethylene glycol, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), and isosorbide as diol components; About 30 to about 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin containing 3,3'-dimethylbisphenol A as a diol component; About 20 to about 90 parts by weight of a phosphorus-based flame retardant represented by the following formula (1); and about 30 to about 90 parts by weight of glass fibers;
- CHDM 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol
- R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a C6-C20 aryl group, or a C6-C20 aryl group substituted with a C1-C10 alkyl group, and n is 1 It is an integer from 10 to 10.
- the polyester resin contains about 5 to about 35 mol% of ethylene glycol and about 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, based on 100 mol% of the dicarboxylic acid component including terephthalic acid and the total diol component. It may be a polycondensation of a diol component containing 35 to about 65 mol% and about 15 to about 45 mol% of isosorbide.
- the polycarbonate resin is a diol component, about 70 to about 90 mol% of 3,3'-dimethylbisphenol A, bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3,3,5- It may include about 5 to about 15 mole percent trimethylcyclohexane, and about 5 to about 15 mole percent 4,4'-biphenol.
- the polycarbonate resin may have a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of about 10,000 to about 200,000 g/mol.
- the glass fiber has a rectangular or oval cross-section
- the aspect ratio of the cross-section is from about 1.5 to about 10
- the minor diameter is from about 2 to about 10 ⁇ m. It can be.
- the weight ratio of the polycarbonate resin and the phosphorus-based flame retardant may be about 1:0.3 to about 1:1.5.
- the weight ratio of the phosphorus-based flame retardant and the glass fiber may be about 1:0.5 to about 1:2.
- thermoplastic resin composition may have a flame resistance of V-0 or higher for a 1.2 mm thick specimen measured by the UL-94 vertical test method.
- thermoplastic resin composition has a heat distortion temperature (HDT) of about 110 to about 110, as measured under the conditions of a load of 18.56 kgf/cm 2 and a temperature increase rate of 120°C/hr, according to ASTM D648. It may be 130°C.
- HDT heat distortion temperature
- thermoplastic resin composition may have a notched Izod impact strength of about 5 to about 20 kgf ⁇ cm/cm for a 1/8" thick specimen measured according to ASTM D256.
- the molded article is characterized in that it is formed from the thermoplastic resin composition according to any one of items 1 to 10 above.
- the present invention has the effect of providing a thermoplastic resin composition with excellent eco-friendliness, flame retardancy, heat resistance, impact resistance, and balance of physical properties, and a molded article formed therefrom.
- thermoplastic resin composition includes (A) a polyester resin; (B) polycarbonate resin; (C) Phosphorus-based flame retardants; and (D) glass fibers.
- the polyester resin of the present invention is an eco-friendly polyester resin that contains ethylene glycol, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), and isosorbide as diol components.
- CHDM 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol
- the polyester resin is a dicarboxylic acid component, such as terephthalic acid (TPA), isophthalic acid (IPA), 1,2-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, and 1,4-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid.
- TPA terephthalic acid
- IPA isophthalic acid
