Description
本発明は、ハイドロゲルに関する。
ハイドロゲルは、水との親和性の高いポリマーが水系溶媒中で膨潤したものである。ハイドロゲルは、その用途に応じて、吸水性、膨潤性、保湿性、粘着性、導電性等の種々の特性を有しており、これらの特性を活かして土木建築、農芸、食品、医療、化粧品、電気等の広範囲の分野において利用されている。
たとえば、特許文献1には、高分子マトリックスと水とを含み、特定の網目構造を有するハイドロゲルが開示されている。
また、ハイドロゲルにおいては、添加物として香料が使用される場合があるが、メントールを用いると、メントールが室温で結晶であるためハイドロゲルの調製用の配合液に溶解しにくく、大量に配合すると配合液及び配合液から調製されたハイドロゲルが白濁するという問題がある。特許文献2においては、l-メントールを0.001~1質量%含有するハイドロゲルが開示されているが、l-メントールを1質量%を超えて添加すると、ハイドロゲルが白濁し、l-メントールの含有量を高めたハイドロゲルの作製が困難であった。
本発明の目的は、多量の揮発性成分を安定分散可能であり、且つ揮発性成分の徐放性に優れたハイドロゲルを提供することである。
上記課題を解決すべく、発明者らは鋭意研究を重ねた結果、多孔質樹脂粒子に揮発性成分を内包させ、ハイドロゲル中に分散させることで、多量の揮発性成分をハイドロゲル中に安定分散可能であり、且つ揮発性成分の徐放性に優れることを見出した。
本発明はこれらの知見に基づいて完成されたものであり、以下に示す広い態様の発明を含むものである。

本発明のハイドロゲルにおいては、多孔質樹脂粒子及び揮発性成分は、多孔質樹脂粒子中に揮発性成分が担持された揮発性成分含有粒子として、ハイドロゲル中に含まれることが好ましい。
(多孔質樹脂粒子)
多孔質樹脂粒子は、多孔質構造を有している樹脂粒子であれば特に制限されるものではないが、非水溶性であるものが好ましい。樹脂粒子の非水溶性という性質は、樹脂粒子自体が非水溶性であるという性質の他、水溶性のアクリル系樹脂、アルギン酸系樹脂又はアミド系樹脂が架橋されて非水溶性になるという性質を意味する。ここで、「非水溶性」とは、水に添加した後、目視レベルにて、溶解しておらず、懸濁及び/又は分散した状態となる性質をいう。
多孔質樹脂粒子は、多孔質構造を有している樹脂粒子であれば特に制限されるものではないが、非水溶性であるものが好ましい。樹脂粒子の非水溶性という性質は、樹脂粒子自体が非水溶性であるという性質の他、水溶性のアクリル系樹脂、アルギン酸系樹脂又はアミド系樹脂が架橋されて非水溶性になるという性質を意味する。ここで、「非水溶性」とは、水に添加した後、目視レベルにて、溶解しておらず、懸濁及び/又は分散した状態となる性質をいう。
上記多孔質樹脂粒子としては、例えば、アクリル系樹脂、アルギン酸系樹脂、アミド系樹脂等を挙 げることができる。この中でもアクリル系樹脂からなる多孔質樹脂粒子が好ましい。
アクリル系樹脂からなる多孔質樹脂粒子としては、単量体混合物の重合体からなる多孔質樹脂粒子であって、単量体混合物は、単量体として、単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルと架橋性単量体とを含むものが挙げられる。
前記単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルとしては、例えば、(メタ)アクリル酸メチル、(メタ)アクリル酸エチル、(メタ)アクリル酸プロピル、(メタ)アクリル酸ブチル、(メタ)アクリル酸ペンチル、(メタ)アクリル酸ヘキシル、(メタ)アクリル酸ヘプチル、(メタ)アクリル酸オクチル、(メタ)アクリル酸ノニル、(メタ)アクリル酸デシル、(メタ)アクリル酸ウンデシル、(メタ)アクリル酸ドデシル、(メタ)アクリル酸グリシジル、(メタ)アクリル酸メトキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸プロポキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸ブトキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸メトキシジエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸エトキシジエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸メトキシエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸ブトキシトリエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸メトキシジプロピレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸フェノキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸フェノキシジエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸フェノキシテトラエチレングリコール、(メタ)アクリル酸ベンジル、(メタ)アクリル酸シクロヘキシル、(メタ)アクリル酸テトラヒドロフルフリル、(メタ)アクリル酸ジシクロペンテニル、(メタ)アクリル酸ジシクロペンテニルオキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸N-ビニル-2-ピロリドン、(メタ)アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸ヒドロキシプロピル、(メタ)アクリル酸ヒドロキシブチル、(メタ)アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシ-3-フェニルオキシプロピル等が挙げることができる。これらの単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルは、それぞれ単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。本発明で使用する単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルとしては、(メタ)アクリル酸のC1~C4(炭素数1~4)のアルキルエステルが好ましく、特にメタクリル酸メチルが好ましい。
上記単量体混合物における単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルの含有率は、1~50質量%の範囲内であり、10~50質量%の範囲内であることが好ましい。前記単量体混合物における前記単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルの含有率が、1~50質量%の範囲内にあると、前記単量体混合物中に前記架橋性単量体を十分に含有させることができるため、多孔質樹脂粒子に十分な多孔性を与えて、比表面積を大きくすることができ、且つ、多孔質樹脂粒子の嵩比重を小さくすることができる。
架橋性単量体としては、エチレン性不飽和基を2個以上有する公知の架橋性単量体を使用することができる。
前記架橋性単量体としては、例えば、エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、アリル(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールプロパントリ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールテトラ(メタ)アクリレート等の(メタ)アクリル系架橋性単量体;ジビニルベンゼン、ジビニルナフタレン、ジアリルフタレ一ト及びこれらの誘導体であるビニル系架橋性単量体等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、(メタ)アクリル系架橋性単量体が好ましく、エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレートがより好ましい。これら架橋性単量体は、それぞれ単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
また、前記架橋性単量体の前記単量体混合物における含有率は、50~99質量%の範囲内であり、50~90質量%の範囲内であることがより好ましい。前記架橋性単量体の前記単量体混合物における含有率が、50~99質量%の範囲内にあると、多孔質樹脂粒子に十分な多孔性を与えて、比表面積を大きくすることができ、且つ、多孔質樹脂粒子の嵩比重を小さくすることができる。
また、前記単量体混合物は、本発明の多孔質樹脂粒子の比表面積に影響を与えない限り、上記した前記単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステル及び前記架橋性単量体以外の他の単量体を含んでいてもよい。
多孔質樹脂粒子の細孔径は、5~30nmであり、10~20nmであることが好ましい。平均細孔径が5nm未満であると、多孔質樹脂粒子への揮発性成分の浸透が阻害されるおそれがある。また、細孔径が30nmを超えると、多孔質樹脂粒子からの揮発性成分の放出速度が速くなり、ハイドロゲルにおける揮発性成分の徐放性が低下するおそれがある。なお、細孔径とは、窒素脱着等温線からBJH法に基づいて得られる平均細孔径を意味する。BJH法による測定方法としては、例えば、測定対象となる樹脂粒子について、比表面積/細孔分布測定装置(TristarII3020、島津製作所社製)を用いて窒素脱着等温線を測定し、BJH法(Barrett,E.P.;Joyner,L.G.;Halenda,P.P.,J.Am.Chem.Soc.73,373(1951))に基づいて細孔径(平均細孔径)を算出することができる。
多孔質樹脂粒子の吸油量は、50~700ml/100gであり、100~700ml/100gであることが好ましい。吸油量が50ml/100g以上であると、多孔質樹脂粒子中に多量の揮発性成分を担持することができ好ましい。吸油量が700ml/100gを超えると、多孔質樹脂粒子内部の空隙が多くなり、十分な粒子強度を確保することができないおそれがある。なお、吸油量は、JIS K 5101-13-2の測定方法を基に測定することができる。
多孔質樹脂粒子の細孔容積は、0.30~0.90ml/gであることが好ましく、0.40~0.70ml/gであることがより好ましい。細孔容積が0.30ml/g以上であると、多孔質樹脂粒子中に多量の揮発性成分を担持することができ好ましい。また、細孔容積が0.90ml/g以下であると、多孔質樹脂粒子の粒子強度が低下しないため好ましい。なお、本明細書中において、細孔容積とは、単位質量あたりの細孔容積のことをいい、本発明においては、窒素脱着等温線からBJH法を用いて得られる細孔容積を意味する。BJH法による測定方法としては、例えば、測定対象となる樹脂粒子について、比表面積/細孔分布測定装置(TristarII3020、島津製作所社製)を用いて窒素脱着等温線を測定し、BJH法(Barrett,E.P.;Joyner,L.G.;Halenda,P.P.,J.Am.Chem.Soc.73,373(1951))に基づいて細孔容積(積算細孔容積)を算出することができる。
多孔質樹脂粒子の比表面積は、50~300m2/gであることが好ましく、80~200m2/gであることがより好ましい。比表面積が50m2/g以上であると、多孔質樹脂粒子中が揮発性成分を多量に吸収することができ好ましい。比表面積が300m2/g以下であると、多孔質樹脂粒子の粒子強度が低下しないため好ましい。なお、本明細書中において、比表面積とは、単位質量あたりの表面積のことをいい、本発明では、BET法(N2)により得られる比表面積を意味する。BET法(N2)による比表面積の測定については、ISO 9277第1版 JIS Z 8830:2001記載のBET法(窒素吸着法)に従って行うことができる。例えば、測定対象となる樹脂粒子について、比表面積/細孔分布測定装置(TristarII3020、島津製作所社製)を用いてBET窒素吸着等温線を測定し、窒素吸着量からBET多点法を用いて比表面積を算出することができる。
多孔質樹脂粒子の嵩比重は、0.20~0.70g/mlであることが好ましく、0.30~0.60g/mlであることがより好ましい。嵩比重が0.20g/ml以上であると、多孔質樹脂粒子の粒子強度が低下しないため好ましい。嵩比重が0.70g/ml以下であると、多孔質樹脂粒子中に多量の揮発性成分を担持することができ好ましい。なお、本明細書中において、嵩比重とは、ホソカワミクロン株式会社製のパウダーテスターPT-E型を用いて測定される固め見掛け比重を意味する。
多孔質樹脂粒子の体積平均粒子径は、0.50~100μmの範囲内であることが好ましく、1.0~50μmの範囲内であることがより好ましく、2.0~30μmの範囲内であることが特に好ましい。前記の範囲内である場合、多孔質樹脂粒子への揮発性成分の浸透を効果的に発現させることができる。なお、体積平均粒子径の測定には、粒度分布測定装置(マルチサイザー4e(ベックマン・コールター社製)を用い、樹脂粒子0.1gを0.1質量%ノニオン性界面活性剤水溶液10ml中に分散させ、当該分散液を用いて測定を行う。体積平均粒子径は、10万個の粒子の体積基準の粒度分布における平均値により算出する。
多孔質樹脂粒子は、単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルと架橋性単量体とを含む単量体混合物を、有機溶剤の存在下、水性媒体中で懸濁重合させたのち、有機溶剤を除去することにより製造することができる。
ハイドロゲルにおける多孔質樹脂粒子の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、0.50~10質量%が好ましく、1.0~6.0質量%がより好ましい。多孔質樹脂粒子の含有量が上記範囲内であることにより、ハイドロゲルの機械強度及び柔軟性を損なわず、ハイドロゲル中に多量の揮発性成分を添加することが可能となる。
(揮発性成分)
揮発性成分は、香料及び香辛料類、精油等が挙げられ、これらは単独で又は2種以上を混合して用いることができる。

香料及び香辛料類としては、例えば、l-メントール、オレンジ油、レモン油、グレープフルーツ油、ライム油、タンジェリン油、ラベンダー油、マンダリン油、ペルガモット油等の柑橘精油類; セージ、ローズマリー、シソ、バジル、ショウガ、わさび等のスパイスオイル; これらを溶媒抽出して得られるオレオレジン類; コーヒーオイル、ローストナッツオイル類、ゴマオイル等の芳香性植物油; バニリン、マルトール、リナロール、グラニオール、シトラール、リモネン等の天然又は合成香料化合物等が挙げられる。効果の点より、l-メントールが好ましく、そのl-メントールとしては、天然メントール、合成メントールの他、ハッカ油、ペパーミント油、スペアミント油等のメントール含有精油を単独又は複数組み合わせて用いることができる。
精油としてはヒバ精油、ヒノキ精油、スギ精油、マツ精油等が挙げられる。
ハイドロゲルにおける揮発性成分の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、0.50~5.0質量%が好ましく、1.0~3.0質量%がより好ましい。揮発性成分の含有量が0.50質量%以上であると、揮発性成分の徐放性に優れたハイドロゲルが得られるため、好ましい。揮発性成分の含有量が5.0質量%以下であると、揮発性成分がハイドロゲル中に析出する恐れが生じ難く、好ましい。
また、上記揮発性成分は、任意選択で溶剤で希釈した溶剤溶液として用いることができる。溶剤としては、揮発性成分と均一に混和するものであれば特に限定されないが、エステル油、シリコーン油、炭化水素油、ワックス類等が好ましい。また、市販品としては、ネオライト100P(高級アルコール工業社製)、KAK HL(高級アルコール工業社製)等が好ましい。
揮発性成分を含む溶剤溶液とする場合、溶剤溶液における揮発性成分濃度が20質量%以上となるように調製することが好ましい。
また、ハイドロゲルにおける溶剤の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、0~5.0質量%が好ましい。溶剤の含有量が上記範囲内であることにより、多孔質樹脂粒子中に多量の揮発性成分を担持させることができ、揮発性成分の徐放性に優れたハイドロゲルが得られるため、好ましい。
(揮発性成分を担持する多孔質樹脂粒子(揮発性成分含有粒子)の調製方法)
揮発性成分が担持された多孔質樹脂粒子(揮発性成分含有粒子)は、揮発性成分又は揮発性成分を含む溶剤溶液と、多孔質樹脂粒子とを混合し、撹拌することにより得ることができる。撹拌時間は、特に限定されないが、0.50~12時間程度である。
揮発性成分が担持された多孔質樹脂粒子(揮発性成分含有粒子)は、揮発性成分又は揮発性成分を含む溶剤溶液と、多孔質樹脂粒子とを混合し、撹拌することにより得ることができる。撹拌時間は、特に限定されないが、0.50~12時間程度である。
本発明において、ハイドロゲルに含有される揮発性成分含有粒子における、(A)揮発性成分と(B)多孔質樹脂粒子との質量比((A):(B))は、1:1~1:4であり、1:2~1:2.5であることが好ましい。上記範囲内であれば、多孔質粒子中に揮発性成分を担持することができ、揮発性成分の徐放性に優れるハイドロゲルを得ることができる。
また、本発明のハイドロゲルは、高分子マトリックス、水、及び湿潤剤を含むものが好ましい。
(高分子マトリックス)
高分子マトリックスは、ハイドロゲル100質量%中に10~40質量%含まれることが好ましく、15~30質量%含まれることがより好ましい。含有量が10質量%以上であると、ハイドロゲルが保形性を十分に有し、柔らか過ぎたり、ちぎれ易くなったりする恐れが生じ難い。また、含有量が40質量%以下であると、ハイドロゲルの柔軟性が損なわれる恐れが生じ難い。
高分子マトリックスは、ハイドロゲル100質量%中に10~40質量%含まれることが好ましく、15~30質量%含まれることがより好ましい。含有量が10質量%以上であると、ハイドロゲルが保形性を十分に有し、柔らか過ぎたり、ちぎれ易くなったりする恐れが生じ難い。また、含有量が40質量%以下であると、ハイドロゲルの柔軟性が損なわれる恐れが生じ難い。
高分子マトリックスは、網目構造を形成し、少なくとも水を含んでゲルを形成することができるものであれば特に限定されない。例えば、1つのエチレン性不飽和基を有する単官能単量体と、架橋性単量体との共重合体から形成することができる。
(1)単官能単量体
上記単官能単量体としては、1つのエチレン性不飽和基を有する限り特に限定されないが、水溶性単量体であることが好ましい。例えば、単官能単量体としては、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のジアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-イソプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-エチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヒドロキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のヒドロキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N-エトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロポキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-イソブトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ペントキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヘキシロキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヘプトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-オクトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-エトキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロポキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブトキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアルコキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N,N-ジメチルアミノプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアミノ基含有のカチオン性アクリルアミド系化合物;4-アクリロイルモルフォリン、tert-ブチルアクリルアミドスルホン酸等のスルホン酸基含有アニオン性単官能単量体又はその塩;ジアセトン(メタ)アクリルアミド;(メタ)アクリル酸又はその塩;及びこれらの誘導体等が挙げられる。その中でも、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジアセトン(メタ)アクリルアミド、tert-ブチルアクリルアミドスルホン酸及びその塩、(メタ)アクリル酸及びその塩からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種等が好ましく用いられるが、これに限定されるものではない。これらの単官能単量体は、それぞれ、単独で用いても良く、2種以上を組み合わせて用いても良い。
上記単官能単量体としては、1つのエチレン性不飽和基を有する限り特に限定されないが、水溶性単量体であることが好ましい。例えば、単官能単量体としては、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のジアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-イソプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-エチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヒドロキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のヒドロキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N-エトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロポキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-イソブトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ペントキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヘキシロキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヘプトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-オクトキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-エトキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-プロポキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブトキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアルコキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド;N,N-ジメチルアミノプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアミノ基含有のカチオン性アクリルアミド系化合物;4-アクリロイルモルフォリン、tert-ブチルアクリルアミドスルホン酸等のスルホン酸基含有アニオン性単官能単量体又はその塩;ジアセトン(メタ)アクリルアミド;(メタ)アクリル酸又はその塩;及びこれらの誘導体等が挙げられる。その中でも、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジアセトン(メタ)アクリルアミド、tert-ブチルアクリルアミドスルホン酸及びその塩、(メタ)アクリル酸及びその塩からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種等が好ましく用いられるが、これに限定されるものではない。これらの単官能単量体は、それぞれ、単独で用いても良く、2種以上を組み合わせて用いても良い。
また、単官能単量体として、上記に加えて、任意選択で、N-ビニルピロリドン、N-ビニルアセトアミド、N-ビニルホルムアミド等のビニルアミド系単官能単量体;アリルアルコール等の非イオン性単官能単量体、スチレン系単量体等を使用することができる。これらの単官能単量体は、それぞれ、単独で用いても良く、2種以上を組み合わせて用いても良い。
ハイドロゲルにおける単官能単量体に由来する構造単位の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、10~40質量%の範囲であることが好ましく、15~35質量%であることがより好ましい。単官能単量体に由来する構造単位の含有量が上記範囲内であると、ハイドロゲルの形状性、粘着力、取扱性、及び柔軟性の観点から好ましい。含有量が10質量%以上であると、単官能単量体量が少ないことによる形状安定性が低下するおそれが生じ難く、また、凝集力及びハイドロゲル自体の保持力が低下せず、適度な粘着力を有するハイドロゲルが得られる。また、含有量が40質量%以下であると、適度な粘着力を有するハイドロゲルが得られ、また、ハイドロゲルの柔軟性が損なわれるおそれが生じ難い。
(2)架橋性単量体
上記架橋性単量体としては、分子内に重合性を有する二重結合を2以上有している単量体を使用することが好ましい。このような架橋性単量体としては、例えば、N,N’-メチレンビス(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N’-エチレンビス(メタ)アクリルアミド、(ポリ)エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)プロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)グリセリンジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)グリセリントリ(メタ)アクリレート等の多官能(メタ)アクリルアミド又は(メタ)アクリレート、テトラアリロキシエタン、ジアリルアンモニウムクロライド等が挙げられ、これらは1種又は2種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。なお、上記分子内に重合性を有する二重結合を2以上有する架橋性単量体として、特許第2803886号公報に記載された、2個以上の(メタ)アクリロイル基又はビニル基を有し、かつ分子量が400以上の多官能化合物であるポリグリセリン誘導体も使用することができる。
上記架橋性単量体としては、分子内に重合性を有する二重結合を2以上有している単量体を使用することが好ましい。このような架橋性単量体としては、例えば、N,N’-メチレンビス(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N’-エチレンビス(メタ)アクリルアミド、(ポリ)エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)プロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)グリセリンジ(メタ)アクリレート、(ポリ)グリセリントリ(メタ)アクリレート等の多官能(メタ)アクリルアミド又は(メタ)アクリレート、テトラアリロキシエタン、ジアリルアンモニウムクロライド等が挙げられ、これらは1種又は2種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。なお、上記分子内に重合性を有する二重結合を2以上有する架橋性単量体として、特許第2803886号公報に記載された、2個以上の(メタ)アクリロイル基又はビニル基を有し、かつ分子量が400以上の多官能化合物であるポリグリセリン誘導体も使用することができる。
ハイドロゲルにおける架橋性単量体に由来する構造単位の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、0.010質量%~0.50質量%の範囲内であることが好ましく、0.010質量%~0.10質量%であることがより好ましい。架橋性単量体に由来する構造単位の含有量が上記範囲内であると、ハイドロゲルの形状性、粘着力、取扱性、及び柔軟性の観点から好ましい。含有量が0.010質量%以上であると、架橋密度が低いことによる形状安定性が低下するおそれが生じ難く、また、凝集力及びハイドロゲル自体の保持力が低下せず、適度な粘着力を有するハイドロゲルが得られる。また、剥離時に、被着体にゲル材の一部が残留する等、ゲルシートの取り扱い性が悪化するというおそれも生じ難い。含有量が0.50質量%以下である場合、適度な粘着力を有するハイドロゲルが得られ、また、ハイドロゲルの柔軟性が損なわれるおそれが生じ難い。
(水)
ハイドロゲルにおける水の含有量は、特に限定されないが、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、10~60質量%であることが好ましく、15~30質量%であることがより好ましい。水の含有量が10質量%以上であると、ハイドロゲルの平衡水分量に対する含水量が低くなりすぎず、ハイドロゲルの吸湿性に由来する変質(例えば、膨潤等)の恐れが生じ難い。また、水の含有量が60質量%以下であると、ハイドロゲルの平衡水分量に対する含水量が多くなりすぎず、ハイドロゲルの乾燥に由来する変質(例えば、収縮等)のおそれが生じ難い。
ハイドロゲルにおける水の含有量は、特に限定されないが、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、10~60質量%であることが好ましく、15~30質量%であることがより好ましい。水の含有量が10質量%以上であると、ハイドロゲルの平衡水分量に対する含水量が低くなりすぎず、ハイドロゲルの吸湿性に由来する変質(例えば、膨潤等)の恐れが生じ難い。また、水の含有量が60質量%以下であると、ハイドロゲルの平衡水分量に対する含水量が多くなりすぎず、ハイドロゲルの乾燥に由来する変質(例えば、収縮等)のおそれが生じ難い。

湿潤剤の中でも、ハイドロゲルの使用温度領域(例えば室内で使用する場合は20℃前後)で液状である多価アルコールを用いることが好ましく、具体的には、エチレングリコール、トリエチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリグリセリン及びグリセリン等が好適である。
ハイドロゲルにおける湿潤剤の含有量は、特に限定されないが、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、20~70質量%の範囲内であることが好ましく、30~60質量%の範囲内であることがより好ましい。湿潤剤の含有量が20質量%以上であると、得られるハイドロゲルが保湿力を有するものとなり、水分の蒸散も抑制されるため、ハイドロゲルの経時安定性が向上するため好ましい。また、湿潤剤の含有量が70質量%以下であると、ハイドロゲルの表面から湿潤剤がブリードアウトせず、ブリードアウトに起因する粘着力の低下が抑制されるため好ましい。
(電解質)
また、ハイドロゲルは、任意選択で電解質を含有することができ、これにより、ハイドロゲルに導電性を付与することができる。

ハイドロゲルに導電性を付与する場合において、ハイドロゲルにおける上記電解質の含有量は、ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して、0.050~10質量%であることが好ましく、0.10~6.0質量%であることがより好ましい。電解質の含有量が0.050質量%以上であると、ハイドロゲルシートのインピーダンスが低下し、導電性が良好となるため好ましい。一方、上記ハイドロゲルにおける上記電解質の含有量が多過ぎると、電解質のハイドロゲルへの溶解が困難となり、ゲル内部で結晶の析出が生じたり、他の成分の溶解を阻害したりするおそれがある。また、導電性が頭打ちとなり、導電性付与という観点からこれ以上の添加は有益なものとはいえなくなる。
上記電解質としては特に限定されず、例えば、ハロゲン化ナトリウム(例えば塩化ナトリウム)、ハロゲン化リチウム、ハロゲン化カリウム等のハロゲン化アルカリ金属;ハロゲン化マグネシウム、ハロゲン化カルシウム等のハロゲン化アルカリ土類金属;その他の金属ハロゲン化物等が挙げられる。また、上記電解質として、各種金属の、次亜塩素酸塩、亜塩素酸塩、塩素酸塩、過塩素酸塩、硫酸塩、炭酸塩、硝酸塩、燐酸塩も好適に用いられる。また、上記電解質として、アンモニウム塩、各種錯塩等の無機塩類;酢酸、安息香酸、乳酸等の一価有機カルボン酸の塩; 酒石酸等の多価有機カルボン酸の塩;フタル酸、コハク酸、アジピン酸、クエン酸等の多価カルボン酸の一価又は二価以上の塩;スルホン酸、アミノ酸等の有機酸の金属塩;有機アンモニウム塩等も好適である。
また、ハイドロゲルには、pHを調整する目的で水酸化ナトリウム等の塩基を適宜添加しても良い。
(添加剤)
さらに、ハイドロゲルは、任意選択で、他の添加剤を含有していても良い。他の添加剤としては、例えば、防錆剤、防黴剤、酸化防止剤、分散剤、消泡剤、安定剤、界面活性剤、着色剤等を挙げることができる。

(中間基材)
本発明のハイドロゲルは、面内方向に沿って埋め込まれた中間基材をさらに備えても良い。ここでハイドロゲルの面内方向とは、ハイドロゲルの厚さ方向と直交する平面内の任意の方向を示すものとする。中間基材を有することにより、ハイドロゲルの補強、裁断時の保形性の改善等につながる。なお、面内方向に沿って中間基材が埋め込まれたハイドロゲルは、互換的に、ハイドロゲルとハイドロゲルの面内方向に沿って埋め込まれた中間基材とを備えた複合材として表すこともできる。

中間基材は特に限定されないが、不織布、織布、紙、フィルム等が挙げられる。中間基材の材質は、セルロース、絹、麻等の天然繊維、ポリエステル、ナイロン、レーヨン、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリウレタン等の合成繊維、又はそれらの混紡が使用可能であり、任意選択で、バインダーを用いても良く、さらに、任意選択で着色しても良い。
不織布の製造方法は特に限定されないが、乾式法、湿式法、スパンボンド法、メルトブローン法、エアレイド法、ケミカルボンド法、サーマルボンド法、ニードルパンチ法、水流交絡法が挙げられる。目付、材質等に応じた製法を採用し、目付ムラがないことが中間基材の位置制御のためにより好ましい。織布についても、平織、トリコット、ラッセル等、特に限定されるものではなく、適宜選択することができる。
また、不織布又は織布の目付は、中間基材としての所定の物性を得ることができる目付であれば特に限定されないが、例えば、10~100g/m2であることが好ましい。上記不織布又は織布の目付が10g/m2以上であると、ゲルシートの補強等を図ることができる。目付が100g/m2以下であると、中間基材が硬くなりすぎず、ハイドロゲルの皮膚への追従性及び導通性を損なわない。
前記中間基材の厚みは、厚過ぎると液の浸透性が悪くなり、逆に薄過ぎると、目付が小さ過ぎる場合と同様にゲルシートの補強等を図ることができなくなる可能性があるため、これらを考慮して適宜設定される。好ましくは0.050mm~2.0mm範囲内である。また、0.050mm~0.50mmであることがより好ましく、0.080mm~0.30mmであることが特に好ましい。
なお、本発明のハイドロゲルの厚みは、用途に応じて適切な厚みが選択され、例えば0.20mm~2.0mmの範囲内である。好ましい一実施形態では、本発明のハイドロゲルの厚みは0.30mm~1.2mmである。
<ハイドロゲルの用途>
本発明のハイドロゲルは、多量の揮発性成分を安定分散可能であり、且つ揮発性成分の徐放性に優れている。

本発明のハイドロゲルは、柔軟性及び保水性等にも優れているため、医療、化粧品、食品、化学、土木、農業、バイオエンジニアリング、スポーツ関連等の多岐にわたる分野に対して用いることができる。例えば、生体用電極ハイドロゲル、冷却用ゲル、化粧用フェイスマスク、細胞培養培地等として使用することができる。好ましくは、本発明のハイドロゲルは、モニタリング機器又は電気刺激を用いて治療を行う装置における生体用電極、電気手術器用の対極板、粘着テープ又は創傷被覆材として用いることができる。
<ハイドロゲルの製造方法>
本発明の実施形態のハイドロゲルは、特に限定はされないが、上述の水以外の各材料と、重合開始剤とを水に均一分散し、得られた配合液を加熱又は紫外線照射等を行うことにより重合架橋して得ることができるゲル化物から構成される。重合開始剤は、熱重合開始剤でも光重合開始剤でも良く、アクリル系単量体を重合させるための公知の熱重合開始剤又は光重合開始剤を使用することができる。また、重合開始剤の含有量は、特に限定されないが、得られるハイドロゲルの全量(上記配合液の全量)100質量%に対して、0.010質量%以上であることが好ましく、1.0質量%以下であることが好ましい。さらに、紫外線照射により重合する場合には、紫外線の積算照射量は、重合開始剤の含有量等によっても異なるが、例えば800~10000mJ/cm2の範囲内であることが好ましく、2000~10000mJ/cm2の範囲内であることがより好ましい。本発明では重合開始剤の量と紫外線照射量を適宜設定することにより、非架橋性単量体及び架橋性単量体の反応率を適宜調整することができる。
本発明の実施形態のハイドロゲルは、特に限定はされないが、上述の水以外の各材料と、重合開始剤とを水に均一分散し、得られた配合液を加熱又は紫外線照射等を行うことにより重合架橋して得ることができるゲル化物から構成される。重合開始剤は、熱重合開始剤でも光重合開始剤でも良く、アクリル系単量体を重合させるための公知の熱重合開始剤又は光重合開始剤を使用することができる。また、重合開始剤の含有量は、特に限定されないが、得られるハイドロゲルの全量(上記配合液の全量)100質量%に対して、0.010質量%以上であることが好ましく、1.0質量%以下であることが好ましい。さらに、紫外線照射により重合する場合には、紫外線の積算照射量は、重合開始剤の含有量等によっても異なるが、例えば800~10000mJ/cm2の範囲内であることが好ましく、2000~10000mJ/cm2の範囲内であることがより好ましい。本発明では重合開始剤の量と紫外線照射量を適宜設定することにより、非架橋性単量体及び架橋性単量体の反応率を適宜調整することができる。
本発明の上記実施形態のハイドロゲルは、断面略矩形の有底の容器等の所望の形状の容器に配合液を流し込み、加熱又は紫外線照射等により重合することで、シート状等の所望の形状に成形することができる。シート状に成形したハイドロゲルの形は、目的に合わせて任意の形状とすることができ、例えば略矩形、略円形等が挙げられるがこれらに限定されない。以下、シート状のハイドロゲルを「ハイドロゲルシート」又は単に「ゲルシート」と称する。
中間基材を備えたハイドロゲルシートの製造プロセスは、ハイドロゲルの組成、中間基材の材質、厚み等によって細かい条件が異なり、特に限定されるものではない。例えば、中間基材の垂直方向における変形が最小限になるように一定以上のテンションをかけた状態で中間基材を空中で保持し、その中間基材の上側及び下側に、配合液を流し込み、光照射等により重合してシート状とする方法; 表面が平滑なシート状のハイドロゲルを2つ作製した後、一定以上のテンションをかけた状態で保持している中間基材をこれらのハイドロゲルで挟持し、複合化する方法; あるいは、表面が平滑なシート状のハイドロゲルを作製し、このハイドロゲルの上に、一定以上のテンションをかけた状態で中間基材を載置し、その中間基材の上に単量体配合液を流し込み、光照射等によりさらに重合させる方法; 等を適宜採用することができる。かかる製造プロセスが連続プロセスの場合、中間基材及び/又はハイドロゲルをロール化してから、これを取り出し適宜シート状にカットしても良い。
<ハイドロゲルシートの実施形態>
図1Aに、ゲルシートの一実施形態の略平面図、図1Bに図1Aのゲルシートの1B-1B 線における断面図を示す。ゲルシート1は、本発明のハイドロゲル2を備え、ハイドロゲル2の面内方向に沿って中間基材3が埋め込まれ、中間基材3が不織布又は織布である。本実施形態では、ゲルシート1の片面にはベースフィルム4を設け、ベースフィルム4が設けられた面の裏面にはトップフィルム5を設けているが、ベースフィルム4及びトップフィルム5は省略してもよい。
図1Aに、ゲルシートの一実施形態の略平面図、図1Bに図1Aのゲルシートの1B-1B 線における断面図を示す。ゲルシート1は、本発明のハイドロゲル2を備え、ハイドロゲル2の面内方向に沿って中間基材3が埋め込まれ、中間基材3が不織布又は織布である。本実施形態では、ゲルシート1の片面にはベースフィルム4を設け、ベースフィルム4が設けられた面の裏面にはトップフィルム5を設けているが、ベースフィルム4及びトップフィルム5は省略してもよい。
ベースフィルム4としては、例えば、ポリエステル、ポリオレフィン、ポリスチレン、ポリウレタン等の樹脂からなる樹脂フィルム、紙、前記樹脂フィルムをラミネートした紙等を使用することができる。
ベースフィルム4のゲルシート1 と接する面は、離型処理がなされていることが好ましい。離型処理の方法としては、シリコーンコーティング等が挙げられ、特に、熱又は紫外線で架橋、硬化反応させる焼き付け型のシリコーンコーティングが好ましい。離型処理が施されるフィルムとしては、二軸延伸したPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)フィルム、OPP(延伸ポリプロピレン)フィルム等が特に好ましい。
トップフィルム5としては、基本的にベースフィルムと同じ材質のものを使用することも可能であるが、トップフィルムを設けた状態で、その上から紫外線照射等を行って重合させる場合には、光重合を妨げないために、光を遮断しない材質のフィルムを選択することが好ましい。
本発明を製造例及び実施例を用いてより詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施例には限定されない。
(実施例1)
1.揮発性成分含有粒子の調製
撹拌・混合容器を使用して、表1に示すとおり、揮発性成分のl-メントール1質量%を溶剤のネオライト100P(高級アルコール工業社製)1質量%に溶解し、揮発性成分の溶剤溶液を得た。その溶剤溶液を、当社特許第5812374号を参考に作製した、平均細孔径18nm、吸油量150ml/100g、細孔容積0.40ml/g、比表面積80m2/g、嵩比重0.40g/ml、体積平均粒子径8μmのパラメータを有する粒子A2質量%に少しずつ添加し、かき混ぜた後、揮発性成分含有粒子を得た。
1.揮発性成分含有粒子の調製
撹拌・混合容器を使用して、表1に示すとおり、揮発性成分のl-メントール1質量%を溶剤のネオライト100P(高級アルコール工業社製)1質量%に溶解し、揮発性成分の溶剤溶液を得た。その溶剤溶液を、当社特許第5812374号を参考に作製した、平均細孔径18nm、吸油量150ml/100g、細孔容積0.40ml/g、比表面積80m2/g、嵩比重0.40g/ml、体積平均粒子径8μmのパラメータを有する粒子A2質量%に少しずつ添加し、かき混ぜた後、揮発性成分含有粒子を得た。
2 .配合液の調製
撹拌・混合容器を使用して、表1に示すとおり、単官能単量体としてアクリルアミド(AAM)を20質量%、架橋性単量体としてN,N’-メチレンビスアクリルアミド(MBAA)を0.040質量%、湿潤剤としてグリセリンを54.8質量%、イオン交換水を18質量%、その他添加剤として電解質と界面活性剤、分散剤、pH調整剤、防腐剤、開始剤、粘着剤、キレート剤を合わせて3.16質量%添加し、完全溶解するまで撹拌し、単量体溶液を得た。その後、1.にて調製した揮発性成分含有粒子を単量体溶液に入れ、ホモミキサーを使用して均一分散し配合液を得た。
撹拌・混合容器を使用して、表1に示すとおり、単官能単量体としてアクリルアミド(AAM)を20質量%、架橋性単量体としてN,N’-メチレンビスアクリルアミド(MBAA)を0.040質量%、湿潤剤としてグリセリンを54.8質量%、イオン交換水を18質量%、その他添加剤として電解質と界面活性剤、分散剤、pH調整剤、防腐剤、開始剤、粘着剤、キレート剤を合わせて3.16質量%添加し、完全溶解するまで撹拌し、単量体溶液を得た。その後、1.にて調製した揮発性成分含有粒子を単量体溶液に入れ、ホモミキサーを使用して均一分散し配合液を得た。
3.ハイドロゲルの製造
次に、得られた配合液を、シリコーンコーティングされた厚さ100μmのPETフィルム(ベースフィルム)上に滴下し、滴下した配合液の上にナイロン系織布及びシリコーンコーティングされた厚さ38μmのPETフィルム(トップフィルム)を被せて配合液を均一に押し広げ、0.90mmになるように固定した。この配合液にメタルハライドランプを使用してエネルギー量3000mJ/cm2で紫外線照射を行うことにより、実施例1の厚さ0.90mmのハイドロゲルシートを得た。
次に、得られた配合液を、シリコーンコーティングされた厚さ100μmのPETフィルム(ベースフィルム)上に滴下し、滴下した配合液の上にナイロン系織布及びシリコーンコーティングされた厚さ38μmのPETフィルム(トップフィルム)を被せて配合液を均一に押し広げ、0.90mmになるように固定した。この配合液にメタルハライドランプを使用してエネルギー量3000mJ/cm2で紫外線照射を行うことにより、実施例1の厚さ0.90mmのハイドロゲルシートを得た。
(実施例2~10)
実施例2~10のハイドロゲルを、各成分の質量%を表1に示すように変更した以外は、実施例1と同様に製造した。

(比較例1~4)
比較例1~4のハイドロゲルを、各成分の質量%を表1に示すように変更した以外は、実施例1と同様に製造した。なお、比較例1,2,4については、揮発性成分が安定的に分散できずハイドロゲル中に析出してしまったため、ハイドロゲルが製造できなかった。

(匂い保持性(徐放性)評価)
ハイドロゲルをPETフィルム(ベースフィルム)から剥がした後、大気中に10秒間暴露後のゲル表面の匂いを官能検査に習熟したパネル5名で評価し、スコアを求めた。その後PETフィルム(ベースフィルム)を被せて、同様の評価を20回行いその都度スコアを求めた。1回目、10回目、20回目それぞれにおける、5名の評価の平均値を算出した。結果を表1に示す。

実施例1~10のハイドロゲルでは、多量の揮発性成分が安定分散されており、揮発性成分の徐放性が良好であった。
実施例1~10のハイドロゲルでは、多量の揮発性成分が安定分散されており、揮発性成分の徐放性が良好であった。
比較例1,2,4の組成では、揮発性成分がハイドロゲル中に析出してしまったため、ハイドロゲルが製造できなかった。比較例3のハイドロゲルは、揮発性成分の匂いが急減し徐放性が劣る結果となった。

Claims (10)
- 多孔質樹脂粒子と揮発性成分とを含むハイドロゲルであって、
前記多孔質樹脂粒子は、細孔径が5~30nm、吸油量が50~700ml/100gであり、
前記ハイドロゲルに含有される(A)揮発性成分と(B)多孔質樹脂粒子との質量比が、
(A):(B)=1:1~1:4
であるハイドロゲル。 - 前記多孔質樹脂粒子が、単官能(メタ)アクリル酸エステルと架橋性単量体とからなる請求項1に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記揮発性成分の含有量が、前記ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して0.5~5質量%である請求項1に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記揮発性成分が、香料、香辛料、及び精油から成る群より選択される少なくとも1種である請求項1に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 高分子マトリックス、水、及び湿潤剤を含む請求項1に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記高分子マトリックスが、1つのエチレン性不飽和基を有する単官能単量体と、架橋性単量体との共重合体からなる請求項5に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記単官能単量体に由来する構造単位の含有量が、前記ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して10~40質量%である請求項6に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記単官能単量体が、(メタ)アクリルアミド、(メタ)アクリル酸、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジアセトン(メタ)アクリルアミド、及びtert-ブチルアクリルアミドスルホン酸から成る群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項6に記載のハイドロゲル。
- 前記湿潤剤の含有量が、前記ハイドロゲル100質量%に対して20~70質量%である請求項5に記載のハイドロゲル。
- モニタリング機器もしくは電気刺激を用いて治療を行う装置における生体用電極、電気手術器用対極板、粘着テープ又は創傷被覆材として用いられる請求項1に記載のハイドロゲル。
