Abstract
Un pistón con alojamientos externos se conecta con al menos dos cigüeñales acoplados, transformando el movimiento reciprocante lineal del pistón en movimiento rotatorio de los cigüeñales. Una camisa de cilindro con la cabeza del pistón forma la cámara de combustión. El espacio interior del pistón con su contraparte estática forma una cámara de admisión-respiro adicional. En la contraparte estática, se pueden ubicar válvulas de ingreso y salida. A partir del movimiento reciprocante del pistón, la cámara de admisión-respiro proporcionará gases de admisión a la cámara de combustión empleando una lumbrera de transferencia. Antes de la lumbrera de transferencia, se puede disponer de una válvula de control para regular el volumen de gases de admisión que entran en la cámara de combustión. Los gases de admisión-respiro no utilizados para la combustión pueden mezclarse con los gases de escape de combustión. La longitud de las conexiones en configuración inversa, proporciona un tiempo adicional a la compresión en su máximo ratio; mejorando el tiempo de la etapa de evaporación y combustión.
