前記スイッチと前記抵抗とは、加締めにより互いに接続される。
配線L(L1およびL2)が断線していない場合(正常時)、スイッチ13がONされると、電流はスイッチ13側と抵抗14側とに分流する。これにより、検出部12を通して得られる電圧値Vは、スイッチ13側の内部抵抗にかかる電圧値Vaとなる。内部抵抗の抵抗値Ra、内部抵抗側に分流された電流値Iaとした場合、電圧値Va=Ia*Raとなる。したがって、CPUは、正常時の電圧値Va(=Ia*Ra)を正常値とし、正常値Vaに基づいて配線Lの断線を監視する。
配線L1が位置P1で断線した場合、スイッチ13がONされても、検出部12には電流が流れない。これにより、検出部12を通して得られる電圧値Vは、「0」となる。したがって、CPUは、検出部12を通して得られる電圧値Vが「0」となり、正常値Vaと異なることで、配線Lの断線を検出する。

- 入力端子およびグランド接続端子を有するコントロールユニットと、
両端子を有し、両端子の一方が配線を介して前記入力端子に接続され、両端子の他方が前記配線を介してグランドに接続されるスイッチと、
前記スイッチと並列に接続された抵抗と、
を備える断線検出装置であって、
前記スイッチと前記抵抗とは、加締めにより互いに接続される、
