Abstract
冷凍機におけるアルミニウム系摺動部材を冷凍機油で潤滑する方法であって、冷凍機油が、基油と、サルコシン化合物及び炭素数8以上のアルコール化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種の化合物を含む添加剤と、を含有する、方法。
Description
本開示は、アルミニウム系摺動部材を冷凍機油で潤滑する方法、冷凍機油、及び冷凍機に関する。
冷蔵庫、カーエアコン、ルームエアコン、自動販売機などの冷凍機は、冷媒を冷凍サイクル内に循環させるための圧縮機を備える。そして、圧縮機には、摺動部材を潤滑させるための冷凍機油が充填される。冷凍機油は、一般的に、基油に加えて、所望の特性に応じて選択される添加剤を含有する。例えば特許文献1には、冷凍サイクル装置における圧縮機の摺動部を潤滑する冷凍機油として、第三級ホスフェートからなる極圧剤を含む冷凍機油が開示されている。
特許文献1に開示されている冷凍機油でも用いられているように、第三級ホスフェート(例えばトリクレジルホスフェート)は、極圧剤(摩耗防止剤とも呼ばれる)として広く知られている添加剤であり、摺動部材の耐摩耗性の向上を目的として添加される。しかし、本発明者らの検討によれば、冷凍機油による摺動部材の耐摩耗性の向上の程度は、摺動部材の種類に依存することが判明した。具体的には、鉄系摺動部材と鉄系摺動部材の組合せに対して良好な耐摩耗性を付与できる冷凍機油が、鉄系摺動部材とアルミニウム系摺動部材の組合せに対しても良好な耐摩耗性を付与できるとは限らず、例えば、アルミニウム系摺動部材に対して第三級ホスフェートを含有する冷凍機油で潤滑する場合、必ずしも充分な耐摩耗性が得られるとは限らない。
本発明の一側面は、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を向上させることを目的とする。
本発明者らは、アルミニウム系摺動部材に対して、特定の添加剤を含有する冷凍機油を用いて潤滑すると、優れた耐摩耗性が得られることを見出した。
本発明の一側面は、冷凍機におけるアルミニウム系摺動部材を冷凍機油で潤滑する方法であって、冷凍機油が、基油と、サルコシン化合物及び炭素数8以上のアルコール化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種の化合物を含む添加剤と、を含有する、方法である。
本発明の他の一側面は、基油と、サルコシン化合物及び炭素数8以上のアルコール化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種の化合物を含む添加剤と、を含有し、アルミニウム系摺動部材の潤滑に用いられる、冷凍機油である。
上記の各側面において、添加剤は、サルコシン化合物を含んでよい。添加剤は、アルコール化合物を含んでよい。添加剤は、サルコシン化合物及びアルコール化合物を含んでよい。
本発明の他の一側面は、圧縮機と、凝縮器と、膨張機構と、蒸発器と、を有する冷媒循環システムを備える冷凍機であって、圧縮機が、アルミニウム系摺動部材を含み、冷媒循環システムが、上記の冷凍機油と、冷媒とを含む、冷凍機である。
冷媒は、不飽和フッ化炭化水素を含んでよい。
本発明の一側面によれば、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を向上させることができる。
以下、本発明の実施形態について詳細に説明する。本発明の一実施形態は、冷凍機における摺動部材を冷凍機油で潤滑する方法である。
図1は、冷凍機の一実施形態を示す模式図である。図1に示すように、冷凍機10は、圧縮機(冷媒圧縮機)1と、凝縮器(ガスクーラー)2と、膨張機構3(キャピラリ、膨張弁等)と、蒸発器(熱交換器)4とが流路5で順次接続された冷媒循環システム6を少なくとも備えている。冷媒循環システム6は、冷凍機油と冷媒とを含んでいる。冷媒循環システム6は、液体状の冷媒が直接圧縮機1内に流入することを抑制・防止するために、蒸発器4と圧縮機1の間(圧縮機1の側面)にアキュムレータ7を更に有していてよい。
このような冷凍機10としては、例えば、自動車用エアコン、除湿器、冷蔵庫、冷凍冷蔵倉庫、自動販売機、ショーケース、化学プラント等における冷却装置、住宅用エアコンディショナー、パッケージエアコンディショナー、及び給湯用ヒートポンプが挙げられる。
冷媒循環システム6においては、まず、圧縮機1から流路5内に吐出された高温(通常70~120℃)の冷媒が、凝縮器2にて高密度の流体(超臨界流体等)となる。続いて、冷媒は、膨張機構3が有する狭い流路を通ることによって液化し、さらに蒸発器4にて気化して低温(通常-40~0℃)となる。冷凍機10による冷房は、冷媒が蒸発器4において気化する際に周囲から熱を奪う現象を利用している。
圧縮機1内においては、高温(通常70~120℃)条件下で、少量の冷媒と多量の冷凍機油とが共存する。圧縮機1から流路5に吐出される冷媒は、気体状であり、少量(通常1~10体積%)の冷凍機油をミストとして含んでいるが、このミスト状の冷凍機油中には少量の冷媒が溶解している(図1中の点a)。
凝縮器2内においては、気体状の冷媒が圧縮されて高密度の流体となり、比較的高温(通常40~80℃)条件下で、多量の冷媒と少量の冷凍機油とが共存する(図1中の点b)。さらに、多量の冷媒と少量の冷凍機油との混合物は、膨張機構3、蒸発器4に順次送られて急激に低温(通常-40~0℃)となり(図1中の点c,d)、再び圧縮機1に戻される。
圧縮機1としては、例えば、ロータリー式圧縮機、ピストン・クランク式圧縮機、ピスト・斜板式圧縮機、スクロール式圧縮機、スクリュー式圧縮機、遠心式圧縮機等が挙げられる。本実施形態では、これらの圧縮機の摺動面において、軽量化等のためにアルミニウム系摺動部材が使用されている。アルミニウム系摺動部材は、アルミニウム単体で形成されていてよく、アルミニウム合金で形成されていてもよい。アルミニウム合金は、例えば、基材であるアルミニウムと、錫(Sn)、珪素(Si)、銅(Cu)、及びクロム(Cr)からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種とを含むアルミニウム合金であってよい。また、アルミニウム系摺動部材と共に摺動する相手側の摺動部材としては、アルミニウム系摺動部材であってよく、鋳鉄、鋼又は各種鉄系合金等で形成された鉄系摺動部材であってよく、これらの摺動部材の表面をコーティング材で被覆した各種コーティング系摺動部材であってよい。
本実施形態に係る方法では、上述したような圧縮機1における摺動部材を冷凍機油で潤滑する。当該冷凍機油は、基油と、サルコシン化合物及び炭素数8以上のアルコール化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種の化合物を含む添加剤と、を含有する。すなわち、本発明の一実施形態は、当該冷凍機油は、基油と上記添加剤とを含有する冷凍機油である。
基油は、含酸素油及び炭化水素油からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種である。含酸素油としては、例えば、エステル及びエーテルが挙げられる。炭化水素油としては、例えば、鉱油、アルキルベンゼン、アルキルナフタレン、ポリα-オレフィン、ポリブテン、及びエチレン-α-オレフィン共重合体が挙げられる。
一実施形態において、基油は、エステル及びエーテルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種であってよく、ポリオールエステル、コンプレックスエステル、ポリアルキレングリコール、及びポリビニルエーテルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種であってよい。
ポリオールエステルとしては、例えば、多価アルコールと脂肪酸とのエステルが挙げられる。多価アルコールは、2~6個の水酸基を有する多価アルコールであってよい。多価アルコールの炭素数は、4~12、又は5~10であってよい。多価アルコールとしては、例えば、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールエタン、トリメチロールプロパン、トリメチロールブタン、ジ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、トリ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、ペンタエリスリトール、及びジペンタエリスリトールが挙げられる。多価アルコールは、好ましくは、ペンタエリスリトール、ジペンタエリスリトール、又はこれらの混合物である。
脂肪酸は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。脂肪酸は、飽和脂肪酸であってよい。脂肪酸の炭素数は、4~20、4~18、4~9、又は5~9であってよい。脂肪酸としては、例えば、ブタン酸、ペンタン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、ドデカン酸、オクタデセン酸等の炭素数4~20の直鎖脂肪酸、2-メチルプロパン酸、2-メチルブタン酸、2-メチルペンタン酸、2-メチルヘキサン酸、2-エチルペンタン酸、2-メチルヘプタン酸、2-エチルヘキサン酸、3,5,5-トリメチルヘキサン酸、及び2-エチルヘキサデカン酸等の炭素数4~20の分岐脂肪酸が挙げられる。
コンプレックスエステルとしては、例えば、多価アルコールから選ばれる少なくとも一種と、多塩基酸から選ばれる少なくとも一種と、一価アルコール及び一価脂肪酸から選ばれる少なくとも一種とから合成されるエステルが挙げられる。
多価アルコールとしては、例えば、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールプロパン、及びペンタエリスリトール等が挙げられる。多価アルコールは、これらの多価アルコールに加えて、ネオペンチルグリコール以外の炭素数2~10の二価アルコールを更に含んでよい。ネオペンチルグリコール以外の炭素数2~10の二価アルコールとしては、エチレングリコール、プロパンジオール、ブタンジオール、ペンタンジオール、ヘキサンジオール、2-メチル-1,3-プロパンジオール、3-メチル-1,5-ペンタンジオール、及び2,2-ジエチル-1,3-ペンタンジオール等が挙げられる。
多塩基酸は、例えば炭素数6~12の多塩基酸であってよい。多塩基酸としては、例えば、アジピン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、フタル酸、及びトリメリット酸が挙げられる。
一価アルコールは、例えば炭素数4~18の一価アルコールであってよい。一価アルコールとしては、ブタノール、ペンタノール、ヘキサノール、ヘプタノール、オクタノール、ノナノール、デカノール、ドデカノール、及びオレイルアルコール等が挙げられる。
一価脂肪酸は、例えば炭素数2~12の一価脂肪酸であってよい、一価脂肪酸としては、例えば、エタン酸、プロパン酸、ブタン酸、ペンタン酸、ヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、及びドデカン酸等が挙げられる。
ポリアルキレングリコールとしては、例えば、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、及びポリブチレングリコールが挙げられる。ポリアルキレングリコールは、オキシエチレン、オキシプロピレン、及びオキシブチレンから選ばれる二種以上の共重合鎖を有するポリアルキレングリコールであってもよい。これらのポリアルキレングリコールの片末端又は両末端は、アルキル化又はアシル化されていてもよい。
ポリビニルエーテルとしては、例えば、炭素数1~20のアルキル基を有するアルキルビニルエーテルから選ばれる一種の単独重合体、及び、炭素数1~20のアルキル基を有するアルキルビニルエーテルから選ばれる二種以上の共重合体が挙げられる。ポリビニルエーテルは、一実施形態において、炭素数1~3のアルキル基(好ましくはエチル基)を有するアルキルビニルエーテルと、炭素数3~8のアルキル基(好ましくはイソブチル基)を有するアルキルビニルエーテルとの共重合体であってよい。
基油の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、50質量%以上、60質量%以上、70質量%以上、80質量%以上、又は90質量%以上であってよく、99質量%以下であってもよい。
添加剤は、サルコシン化合物及びアルコール化合物の一方又は両方を含み、摺動部材の耐摩耗性を更に向上させることができる観点から、好ましくは、サルコシン化合物及びアルコール化合物の両方を含む。
R1で表されるアルキル基は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。当該アルキル基の炭素数は、例えば、1以上であってよく、10以下、8以下、6以下、5以下、又は4以下であってよい。
R2で表される鎖状の炭化水素基は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。当該炭化水素基は、飽和炭化水素基であっても不飽和炭化水素基であってもよい。不飽和炭化水素基における炭素-炭素不飽和結合の数は、1以上又は2以上であってよく、4以下、3以下、又は2以下であってよい。R2で表される鎖状の炭化水素基の炭素数は、例えば、1以上、5以上、10以上、12以上、14以上、15以上、16以上、又は17以上であってよく、30以下、28以下、26以下、24以下、22以下、20以下、19以下、18以下、又は17以下であってよい。
上述した誘導体としては、例えば塩が挙げられる。塩としては、例えば、金属塩、アンモニウム塩及びアミン塩が挙げられる。金属塩を構成する金属としては、例えば、ナトリウム、カリウム、リチウム等のアルカリ金属、カルシウム、マグネシウム等のアルカリ土類金属などが挙げられる。アミン塩を構成するアミン化合物としては、例えば、炭素数1~20のアミン化合物が挙げられる。当該アミン化合物としては、好ましくは、ジ-2-エチルヘキシルアミン、オレイルアミン等の炭素数4~18のアルキル基又は炭素数4~18のアルケニル基を1個又は2個有するアミン化合物等が挙げられる。
サルコシン化合物は、一実施形態において、二種以上の混合物であってよく、具体的には、式(2)におけるR2が以下に示すように特定されるサルコシン化合物からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも二種以上の混合物であってよい。
(i)R2が炭素数12以上30以下の直鎖状又は分岐状飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
(ii)R2が炭素数12以上30以下、好ましくは炭素数15以上20以下の、炭素-炭素不飽和結合を1有する直鎖状又は分岐状不飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
(iii)R2が炭素数12以上30以下、好ましくは炭素数15以上20以下の、炭素-炭素不飽和結合を2以上4以下有する直鎖状又は分岐状不飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
(i)R2が炭素数12以上30以下の直鎖状又は分岐状飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
(ii)R2が炭素数12以上30以下、好ましくは炭素数15以上20以下の、炭素-炭素不飽和結合を1有する直鎖状又は分岐状不飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
(iii)R2が炭素数12以上30以下、好ましくは炭素数15以上20以下の、炭素-炭素不飽和結合を2以上4以下有する直鎖状又は分岐状不飽和炭化水素基であるサルコシン化合物
上記(i)~(iii)のサルコシン化合物において、式(2)におけるR1は、好ましくは炭素数1以上4以下の炭化水素基、例えば、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基、又はブチル基であってよく、特に好ましくはメチル基である。上記(i)~(iii)のサルコシン化合物において、式(2)におけるR2の炭素数は、好ましくは15以上又は16以上であってよく、20以下又は18以下であってよく、式(2)におけるR2は好ましくは直鎖状である。
サルコシン化合物は、上記一実施形態において、好ましくは上記(ii)のサルコシン化合物を主成分として含有する。この場合、上記(ii)のサルコシン化合物の割合は、サルコシン化合物全量を基準として、例えば50質量%以上であってよく、好ましくは60質量%以上であり、精製度を高めて100質量%であってもよいが、製造原料の多様性やコストの観点から、好ましくは、95質量%以下、90質量%以下、85質量%以下、又は82質量%以下であってよい。上記(i)のサルコシン化合物及び(iii)のサルコシン化合物の合計の割合は、サルコシン化合物全量を基準として、例えば50質量%以下であってよく、好ましくは40質量%以下であり、5質量%以上、10質量%以上、15質量%以上、又は18質量%以上であってよい。上記(i)のサルコシン化合物及び(iii)のサルコシン化合物のそれぞれの割合は、サルコシン化合物全量を基準として、25質量%以下又は20質量%以下であってよく、2.5質量%以上、5質量%以上、7.5質量%以上、又は9質量%以上であってよい。
サルコシン化合物は、一実施形態において、好ましくは、N-オレオイルサルコシン(R1がメチル基、R2が炭素数17の直鎖不飽和炭化水素基(炭素-炭素不飽和結合1つ)を主成分として含有する。この場合、N-オレオイルサルコシンの割合は、サルコシン化合物全量を基準として、例えば50質量%以上であってよく、好ましくは60質量%以上であり、精製度を高めて100質量%であってもよいが、製造原料の多様性やコストの観点から、好ましくは、95質量%以下、90質量%以下、85質量%以下、又は80質量%以下であってよい。
上述した各サルコシン化合物は、例えば、市販のHPLCカラムを用いたLC-CAD/MS分析により、同定・定量することができる。サルコシン化合物全量基準での各サルコシン化合物の割合(質量%)は、当該分析で得られた各サルコシン化合物に由来するピーク面積の割合(面積%)と同等ないし略同一とみなして算出してよい。
サルコシン化合物の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.01質量%以上、0.05質量%以上、又は0.08質量%以上であってよく、3質量%以下、1質量%以下、又は0.5質量%以下であってよい。
アルコール化合物は、例えば、R-OH(Rは炭化水素基を表す)で表される化合物の少なくとも一種である。アルコール化合物の炭素数(Rで表される炭化水素基の炭素数)は、8以上であり、10以上、又は12以上であってよく、32以下、28以下、又は24以下であってよい。アルコール化合物(Rで表される炭化水素基)は、直鎖状であっても分岐鎖状であってもよく、環状構造(ナフテン環又は芳香族環)を有していてもよく、好ましくは分岐鎖状である。アルコール化合物は、一価アルコールであっても二価以上の多価アルコールであってもよく、好ましくは一価アルコールである。アルコール化合物は、第一級アルコール、第二級アルコール、又は第三級アルコールであってよく、好ましくは第一級アルコールである。
本発明の一実施形態において、アルコール化合物は、例えば、下記式(3)で表されるアルキル基を有するアルコールである。
式中、x及びyは、それぞれ独立して0~18の整数であって、かつx+yが4~36となるような整数を表す。
xは、好ましくは、1以上、3以上、5以上又は7以上の整数であってよく、15以下、13以下、11以下又は9以下の整数であってよい。yは、好ましくは、1以上、3以上、5以上又は7以上の整数であってよく、15以下、13以下、11以下又は9以下の整数であってよい。x+yは、好ましくは、6以上、8以上、10以上又は12以上であってよく、32以下、28以下、24以下、20以下又は16以下であってよい。x-yは、特に制限はないが、好ましくは0以上又は2以上であってよく、15以下、10以下、6以下又は4以下であってよい。なお、上記式(3)中、-CxH2x-で表される基及び-CyH2y-で表される基は、それぞれ、直鎖状でも分岐状でもよい。-CxH2x-で表される基及び-CyH2y-で表される基が分岐状である場合、分岐している基は例えばメチル基であってよく、分岐しているメチル基の数は、合計で、0以上、1以上、2以上又は4以上であってよく、8以下又は7以下であってよい。
このようなアルコール化合物の好ましい例としては、原料アルコールを二量化するゲルベ(Guerbet)反応によって合成されるβ-分岐アルコールである、いわゆるゲルベアルコールが挙げられる。原料アルコールとしては、例えば、炭素数4~20のモノアルコールから選ばれる少なくとも1種が挙げられる。原料アルコールは、1種単独又は2種以上の混合物で用いてよいが、単一の二量化生成物を効率よく得る観点からは、好ましくは1種単独で用いられる。ゲルベアルコールの炭素数は、冷凍機油の動粘度及び引火点を下げにくい点で、例えば8以上であってよく、好ましくは12以上又は16以上であってよく、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を更に向上できる観点から、40以下、36以下、30以下、24以下又は20以下であってよい。ゲルベアルコールの製造法は、例えば、特開2015-13815号、WO2016-194800等に記載されている。
このようなアルコール化合物としては、例えば、2-メチルヘプタノール、2-エチルヘキサノール、2-プロピルペンタノール、2-ブチルブタノール、2-メチルオクタノール、2-エチルヘプタノール、2-プロピルヘキサノール、2-ブチルペンタノール、2-メチルノナノール、2-エチルオクタノール、2-プロピルヘプタノール、2-ブチルヘキサノール、2-ペンチルペンタノール、2-メチルデカノール、2-エチルノナノール、2-プロピルオクタノール、2-ブチルへプタノール、2-ペンチルヘキサノール、2-メチルウンデカノール、2-エチルデカノール、2-プロピルノナノール、2-ブチルオクタノール、2-ペンチルへプタノール、2-ヘキシルヘキサノール、2-メチルドデカノール、2-エチルウンデカノール、2-プロピルデカノール、2-ブチルノナノール、2-ペンチルオクタノール、2-ヘキシルへプタノール、2-メチルトリデカノール、2-エチルドデカノール、2-プロピルウンデカノール、2-ブチルデカノール、2-ペンチルノナノール、2-ヘキシルオクタノール、2-ヘプチルヘプタノール、2-メチルテトラデカノール、2-エチルトリデカノール、2-プロピルドデカノール、2-ブチルウンデカノール、2-ペンチルデカノール、2-ヘキシルノナノール、2-へプチルオクタノール、2-メチルペンタデカノール、2-エチルテトラデカノール、2-プロピルトリデカノール、2-ブチルドデカノール、2-ペンチルウンデカノール、2-ヘキシルデカノール、2-へプチルノナノール、2-オクチルオクタノール、2-メチルヘキサデカノール、2-エチルペンタデカノール、2-プロピルテトラデカノール、2-ブチルトリデカノール、2-ペンチルドデカノール、2-ヘキシルウンデカノール、2-へプチルデカノール、2-オクチルノナノール、2-メチルヘプタノール、2-エチルヘキサデカノール、2-プロピルペンタデカノール、2-ブチルテトラデカノール、2-ペンチルトリデカノール、2-ヘキシルドデカノール、2-へプチルウンデカノール、2-オクチルデカノール、2-ノニルノナノール、2-メチルノナデカノール、2-エチルオクタデカノール、2-プロピルへプタデカノール、2-ブチルヘキサデカノール、2-ペンチルペンタデカノール、2-ヘキシルテトラデカノール、2-へプチルトリデカノール、2-オクチルドデカノール、2-ノニルウンデカノール、2-デシルデカノール、2-デシルテトラデカノール、2-ドデシルヘキサデカノール、2-テトラデシルオクタデカノール、2-ヘキサデシルエイコサノール(これらはメチル基等の分岐基を有する構造のものでもよい)等が挙げられる。
アルコール化合物は、好ましくは、炭素数16~18の分岐状脂肪族アルコールである。炭素数16~18の分岐状脂肪族アルコールとしては、具体的には、2-ヘキシル-1-ドデカノール、2-ヘキシル-1-デカノール、2-オクチル-1-デカノール、2-(4-メチル-ヘキシル)-8-メチル-ウンデカノール、2-(4,4-ジメチルペンタン-2-イル)-5,7,7-トリメチル-1-オクタノールが好ましい例として挙げられる。分岐状のアルコール化合物において分岐しているメチル基の数は、0以上、1以上、2以上又は4以上であってよく、8以下又は7以下であってよい。
アルコール化合物の引火点は、安全性及び冷凍機油の引火点を低下させにくい点で、好ましくは、70℃以上、100℃以上、130℃以上又は150℃以上であってよく、250℃以下又は200℃以下であってよい。本明細書における引火点は、JIS K2265-4:2007に記載のクリーブランド開放(COC)法に準拠して測定された引火点を意味する。
アルコール化合物の流動点は、冷凍機油の低温における流動性を阻害しにくい点で、好ましくは、0℃以下、-10℃以下又は-20℃以下であってよい。本明細書における流動点は、JIS K2269:1987に準拠して測定された流動点を意味する。
アルコール化合物の凝固点は、冷凍機油の低温における流動性を阻害しにくい点で、好ましくは、0℃以下、-10℃以下又は-20℃以下であってよく、-30℃以下又は-50℃以下であってよい。本明細書における凝固点は、JIS K2269:1987(上記の流動点の測定方法)における流動点の測定間隔(2.5℃)を1℃に設定して測定された、アルコール化合物の流動が観察される最低温度よりも1℃低い温度を意味する。
アルコール化合物の30℃における粘度は、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を更に向上できる点で、好ましくは、20mPa・s以上、50mPa・s以上、100mPa・s以上又は150mPa・s以上であり、500mPa・s又は300mPa・s以下であってよい。本明細書における粘度は、JIS Z8803に準拠して、単一円筒型回転粘度計を用いて測定された粘度(mPa・s)を意味する。
アルコール化合物の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.1質量%以上、0.5質量%以上、又は1質量%以上であってよく、10質量%以下、5質量%以下、4質量%以下、又は3質量%以下であってよい。
添加剤は、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を更に向上させる観点から、多価アルコールと不飽和カルボン酸を含むカルボン酸との部分エステルを更に含んでもよい。この部分エステルは、多価アルコールの一部の水酸基がエステル化され、残りの水酸基がエステル化されずにそのままであるエステルをいう。すなわち、部分エステルは、エステル結合及び水酸基を有している。
多価アルコールは、2~6個の水酸基を有する多価アルコールであってよい。多価アルコールの炭素数は、4以上又は5以上であってよく、12以下又は10以下であってよい。多価アルコールとしては、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールエタン、トリメチロールプロパン、トリメチロールブタン、ジ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、トリ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、ペンタエリスリトール、及びジペンタエリスリトールが挙げられる。多価アルコールは、摺動部材の耐摩耗性を更に向上できる観点から、好ましくはペンタエリスリトールである。
不飽和カルボン酸は、少なくとも1つの炭素-炭素不飽和結合を有するカルボン酸である。炭素-炭素不飽和結合の数は、1又は2以上であってよく、4以下、3以下、又は2以下であってもよい。不飽和カルボン酸は、例えば一価の不飽和カルボン酸であってよい。不飽和カルボン酸は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。不飽和カルボン酸の炭素数は、4以上、8以上、又は12以上であってよく、36以下、28以下、又は20以下であってよい。
このような不飽和カルボン酸としては、例えば、ペンテン酸、ヘキセン酸、ヘプテン酸、オクテン酸、ノネン酸、デセン酸、ウンデセン酸、ドデセン酸、トリデセン酸、テトラデセン酸、ペンタデセン酸、ヘキサデセン酸、ヘプタデセン酸、及びオクタデセン酸が挙げられる(いずれも直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい)。
カルボン酸は、不飽和カルボン酸のみを含んでよく、不飽和カルボン酸に加えて飽和カルボン酸を更に含んでもよい。すなわち、部分エステルには、下記(I)及び(II)が包含される。
(I)多価アルコールの一部の水酸基の一部が不飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、残りの水酸基がエステル化されずにそのまま残っている部分エステル。
(II)多価アルコールの一部の水酸基が不飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、他の一部の水酸基が飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、残りの水酸基がエステル化されずにそのまま残っている部分エステル。
(I)多価アルコールの一部の水酸基の一部が不飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、残りの水酸基がエステル化されずにそのまま残っている部分エステル。
(II)多価アルコールの一部の水酸基が不飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、他の一部の水酸基が飽和カルボン酸でエステル化されており、残りの水酸基がエステル化されずにそのまま残っている部分エステル。
飽和カルボン酸は、例えば一価の飽和カルボン酸であってよい。飽和カルボン酸の炭素数は、4以上、8以上、又は12以上であってよく、36以下、28以下、又は20以下であってよい。飽和カルボン酸としては、例えば、ペンタン酸、ヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、ウンデカン酸、ドデカン酸、トリデカン酸、テトラデカン酸、ペンタデカン酸、ヘキサデカン酸、ヘプタデカン酸、及びオクタデカン酸が挙げられる。
例えば多価アルコールがペンタエリスリトールである場合、部分エステルは、ペンタエリスリトールの4つの水酸基のうち、1つの水酸基のみがエステル化されているモノエステル、2つの水酸基のみがエステル化されているジエステル、又は3つの水酸基のみがエステル化されているトリエステルであってよく、好ましくは、モノエステル、ジエステル及びトリエステルのすべてを含む。この場合、部分エステルがモノエステル、ジエステル及びトリエステルのすべてを含む場合、部分エステル全量基準で、モノエステルの割合は0~15質量%であってよく、ジエステルの割合は20~40質量%、トリエステルの割合は30~45質量%であってよい。
部分エステルのよう素価(gI2/100g)は、20以上、40以上、又は50以上であってよく、100以下、80以下、又は70以下であってよい。部分エステルのよう素価は、不飽和カルボン酸における炭素-炭素不飽和結合に由来すると考えられる。本明細書において、よう素価は、JIS K0070-1992に準拠して測定されたよう素価(gI2/100g)を意味する。
部分エステルの含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.001質量%以上、0.01質量%以上、又は0.1質量%以上であってよく、10質量%以下、5質量%以下、又は1質量%以下であってよい。
添加剤は、サルコシン化合物、アルコール化合物、及び部分エステル以外のその他の添加剤を更に含んでいてもよい。その他の添加剤は、例えば、酸化防止剤、酸捕捉剤、摩耗防止剤、消泡剤、金属不活性化剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤、及び清浄分散剤からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種である。その他の添加剤の合計量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.01質量%以上であってよく、5質量%以下であってよい。
酸化防止剤としては、例えばフェノール系酸化防止剤が挙げられる。フェノール系酸化防止剤としては、例えば、2,6-ジ-tert.-ブチル-p-クレゾール(DBPC)、2,6-ジ-tert.-ブチル-フェノール、及び4,4’-メチレンビス(2,6-ジ-tert.-ブチル-フェノール)が挙げられる。酸化防止剤の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.01質量%以上又は0.1質量%以上であってよく、5質量%以下、3質量%以下、又は1質量%以下であってよい。
酸捕捉剤としては、例えばエポキシ系酸捕捉剤が挙げられる。エポキシ系酸捕捉剤としては、例えば、グリシジルエーテル型エポキシ化合物、グリシジルエステル型エポキシ化合物、アリールオキシラン化合物、アルキルオキシラン化合物、脂環式エポキシ化合物、エポキシ化脂肪酸モノエステル、及びエポキシ化植物油が挙げられる。酸捕捉剤の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.01質量%以上又は0.1質量%以上であってよく、5質量%以下、3質量%以下、又は1質量%以下であってよい。
摩耗防止剤としては、例えばリン系摩耗防止剤が挙げられる。リン系摩耗防止剤は、例えば、リン酸エステル、酸性リン酸エステル、酸性リン酸エステルのアミン塩、塩素化リン酸エステル、亜リン酸エステル、及びチオリン酸エステルが挙げられる。摩耗防止剤の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.01質量%以上又は0.1質量%以上であってよく、5質量%以下、3質量%以下、又は1質量%以下であってよい。一実施形態において、冷凍機油は、摩耗防止剤(極圧剤とも呼ばれる)を含有しなくてよく、リン系摩耗防止剤(リン系極圧剤とも呼ばれる)を含有しなくてよい。本実施形態に係る冷凍機油は、摩耗防止剤(リン系摩耗防止剤)を含有しない場合であっても、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を向上させることができる。
金属不活性化剤としては、例えばベンゾトリアゾール、ベンゾトリアゾール誘導体等が挙げられる。金属不活性化剤の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.0001質量%以上、0.0005質量%以上、又は0.0008質量%以上であってよく、1質量%以下、0.1質量%以下、又は0.01質量%以下であってよい。
冷凍機油の40℃における動粘度は、例えば、3mm2/s以上、10mm2/s以上、又は20mm2/s以上であってよく、500mm2/s以下又は300mm2/s以下であってよい。冷凍機油の100℃における動粘度は、例えば、1mm2/s以上又は2mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下又は50mm2/s以下であってよい。冷凍機油の粘度指数は、例えば、10以上、50以上、又は70以上であってよく、500以下、300以下、又は250以下であってよい。本明細書において、冷凍機油の動粘度及び粘度指数は、JIS K2283:2000に準拠して測定された動粘度及び粘度指数をそれぞれ意味する。
冷凍機油は、上述したとおり、冷媒循環システム6において冷媒と共存している。すなわち、本発明の一実施形態は、上記の冷凍機油と冷媒とを含有する作動流体組成物ともいえる。冷媒としては、例えば、飽和フッ化炭化水素(HFCとも呼ばれる)、不飽和フッ化炭化水素(HFOとも呼ばれる)、炭化水素、含フッ素エーテル、ビス(トリフルオロメチル)サルファイド、三フッ化ヨウ化メタン、アンモニア、及び二酸化炭素が挙げられる。冷媒は、これらの冷媒の一種単独冷媒であってよく、二種以上の混合冷媒であってもよい。一実施形態において、冷媒は不飽和フッ化炭化水素を含み、この場合、上記の冷凍機油による摺動部材の耐摩耗性向上の効果がより好適に得られる。
飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、好ましくは炭素数1~3、より好ましくは1~2の飽和フッ化炭化水素が挙げられる。飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、ジフルオロメタン(R32)、トリフルオロメタン(R23)、ペンタフルオロエタン(R125)、1,1,2,2-テトラフルオロエタン(R134)、1,1,1,2-テトラフルオロエタン(R134a)、1,1,1-トリフルオロエタン(R143a)、1,1-ジフルオロエタン(R152a)、フルオロエタン(R161)、1,1,1,2,3,3,3-ヘプタフルオロプロパン(R227ea)、1,1,1,2,3,3-ヘキサフルオロプロパン(R236ea)、1,1,1,3,3,3-ヘキサフルオロプロパン(R236fa)、1,1,1,3,3-ペンタフルオロプロパン(R245fa)、及び1,1,1,3,3-ペンタフルオロブタン(R365mfc)が挙げられる。
飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、R32単独;R23単独;R134a単独;R125単独;R134a/R32=60~80質量%/40~20質量%の混合物;R32/R125=40~70質量%/60~30質量%の混合物;R125/R143a=40~60質量%/60~40質量%の混合物;R134a/R32/R125=60質量%/30質量%/10質量%の混合物;R134a/R32/R125=40~70質量%/15~35質量%/5~40質量%の混合物;R125/R134a/R143a=35~55質量%/1~15質量%/40~60質量%の混合物などが好ましい例として挙げられる。さらに具体的には、R134a/R32=70/30質量%の混合物;R32/R125=60/40質量%の混合物;R32/R125=50/50質量%の混合物(R410A);R32/R125=45/55質量%の混合物(R410B);R125/R143a=50/50質量%の混合物(R507C);R32/R125/R134a=30/10/60質量%の混合物;R32/R125/R134a=23/25/52質量%の混合物(R407C);R32/R125/R134a=25/15/60質量%の混合物(R407E);R125/R134a/R143a=44/4/52質量%の混合物(R404A)が挙げられる。
不飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、炭素-炭素二重結合を1つ以上有し、フッ素及び水素を有する炭素数2~4の不飽和フッ化炭化水素が挙げられる。不飽和フッ化炭化水素は、好ましくはフルオロプロペン、より好ましくはフッ素数が3~5のフルオロプロペンである。不飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、1,2,3,3,3-ペンタフルオロプロペン(HFO-1225ye)、1,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234ze)、2,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234yf)、1,2,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234ye)、及び3,3,3-トリフルオロプロペン(HFO-1243zf)が挙げられる。不飽和フッ化炭化水素は、好ましくは、HFO-1225ye、HFO-1234ze及びHFO-1234yfから選ばれる少なくとも1種である。
炭化水素は、好ましくは炭素数1~5の炭化水素、より好ましくは炭素数2~4の炭化水素である。炭化水素としては、例えば、メタン、エチレン、エタン、プロピレン、プロパン(R290)、シクロプロパン、ノルマルブタン、イソブタン、シクロブタン、メチルシクロプロパン、2-メチルブタン、及びノルマルペンタンが挙げられる。炭化水素は、好ましくは、プロパン、ノルマルブタン、イソブタン、及び2-メチルブタンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種である。
冷媒循環システム6における冷凍機油の量(作動流体組成物における冷凍機油の含有量)は、冷媒100質量部に対して、1質量部以上又は2質量部以上であってよく、500質量部以下又は400質量部以下であってよい。
以下、実施例に基づいて本発明を更に具体的に説明するが、本発明は実施例に限定されるものではない。
(実施例1~4及び比較例1)
以下に示す各成分を用いて表1に示す組成(冷凍機油全量を基準とした質量%)を有する冷凍機油を製造した。

[耐摩耗性の評価]
密閉式FALEX試験機(ピン:3135steel、Vブロック:4032Al(アルミニウム合金(Al-Si系)で形成された摺動面を有するアルミニウム系摺動部材))を使用し、試験条件を、試験荷重0.3MPaG、試験時間5時間、回転数290rpm、試験温度25℃(室温)とした。テストピースにはASTM D2670摩耗量試験に準拠したテストピースを用い、2,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン冷媒吹込み環境下(冷媒吹込み量:10L/h)にて、耐摩耗性試験を実施した。試験後のVブロックについて、左端、真ん中、右端の3点の摩耗幅の平均値(mm)を測定した。結果を表1に示す。摩耗幅が小さいほど、耐摩耗性が良好であることを意味する。また、比較例1では、Vブロックに焼付きが生じた(耐摩耗性が低かった)ため、摩耗幅を測定できなかった。
密閉式FALEX試験機(ピン:3135steel、Vブロック:4032Al(アルミニウム合金(Al-Si系)で形成された摺動面を有するアルミニウム系摺動部材))を使用し、試験条件を、試験荷重0.3MPaG、試験時間5時間、回転数290rpm、試験温度25℃(室温)とした。テストピースにはASTM D2670摩耗量試験に準拠したテストピースを用い、2,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン冷媒吹込み環境下(冷媒吹込み量:10L/h)にて、耐摩耗性試験を実施した。試験後のVブロックについて、左端、真ん中、右端の3点の摩耗幅の平均値(mm)を測定した。結果を表1に示す。摩耗幅が小さいほど、耐摩耗性が良好であることを意味する。また、比較例1では、Vブロックに焼付きが生じた(耐摩耗性が低かった)ため、摩耗幅を測定できなかった。
以下のとおり実施例5~8の冷凍機油を製造したところ、いずれの冷凍機油も、実施例1~4と同様に、アルミニウム系摺動部材の耐摩耗性を向上させることが可能であった。
