Abstract
バックエンドの起動のタイミングを工夫することにより、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間が実質的に短縮される車載ストレージシステムを提供する。車載ストレージシステムは、コントローラとNAND型フラッシュメモリとインタフェースとを有するストレージ装置と、車両の制御を電子的に行う電子制御ユニットと、及び、センサとを搭載する。電子制御ユニットはインタフェースを介してストレージ装置と通信し、センサは電子制御ユニットに自身の検出結果を送信し、電子制御ユニットは、送信されたセンサの検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示した場合は、コントローラに対してNAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化を開始する指令を送信する。
Description
本開示は、ホスト装置とストレージ装置間でデータ転送を行う車載ストレージシステムに関する。
車載システムの分野において、1車両に搭載される多数のECU(Electronic Control Unit:電子制御ユニット)は、現在統合される方向にある。多数のECUが統合されると、個々のECUに接続されるストレージも統合されることが必要となってくる。
車載システムの分野におけるストレージでは、不揮発性メモリを利用するSSDやSDカードを用いるものが主流である。SDカードとSDカード対応ホストに関する技術は、例えば、特許文献1に開示されている。また、ECUにおいても高速シリアルインターフェースとしてPCI Express(登録商標: 以下、PCIe と称する)が現在、使用されている。
統合される方向にある車載ストレージ装置に関しては、大容量化及び高速化が要請される。しかしながら、車載ストレージ装置において大容量化及び高速化を進めようとすると、ストレージ装置全体の初期化に要する時間がどうしても増大してしまう。
本開示は、バックエンドの起動のタイミングを工夫することにより、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間が実質的に短縮された車載ストレージシステムを提供することを目的とする。

[本開示に至る経緯]
1車両に搭載される多数のECUは現在統合される方向にある。そのことに合わせて、通常NAND型フラッシュメモリが用いられるストレージも、統合されることが必要となる。ストレージ装置には今後、テラ(tera)単位の容量が見込まれている。

ところで、NAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化処理は、電源投入後、論理物理変換テーブルをRAMに読み込むことや、バッドブロックの検出を行うことを含む。NAND型フラッシュメモリである車載ストレージ装置の容量が前述のようにテラ単位にまで大きくなると、初期化処理に要する時間が増大する。そうすると、ECU装置の電源投入(例えば、自動車において運転者がエンジンをスタートすること)の後、実際にストレージ装置へのアクセスが可能になるまでの時間が遅くなってしまう。この遅延により、ECU装置における重要アプリケーションの処理に致命的な影響を与える可能性が生じてしまう。
図4は、従来の車載ストレージシステムにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの起動の動作例を示すフローチャートである。図4に示すように、起動の動作の開始(ステップ52)後、エンジンキーがON状態となると(ステップS54)、ホストである車載ECUが、PCIeバスにより構成されるメインバスの初期化命令を発する(ステップS56)。続いて、ホストである車載ECUの指示により、ストレージ装置のコントローラを初期化し(ステップS58)、ホストである車載ECUの指示により、ストレージ装置のコントローラがNAND型フラッシュメモリを初期化する(ステップS60)。更に、ストレージ装置のコントローラ、メインバスインタフェース、及び、NAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化完了がホストである車載ECUに通知される(ステップS62)。これを受けて、OSやアプリケーションによる、ストレージ装置へのアクセスが開始し(ステップS64)、アプリケーションが起動して(ステップS66)、NAND型フラッシュメモリの起動動作が終了する(ステップS68)。
このように、エンジンのスタート後であっても、時間の掛かるNAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化処理(ステップS60参照)の終了後でなければ、ストレージ装置へのアクセスが可能とならない。

発明者は、上述の問題点を解決する本開示に係る車載ストレージシステムを開発した。本開示に係る車載ストレージシステムは、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化の開始タイミングを早めるものである。
よって、本開示の車載ストレージシステムにおいては、NAND型フラッシュメモリの容量がテラ単位で増大しても、初期化処理の増大がECU装置の重要アプリケーションの処理に悪影響を与えることが無い。
[実施の形態1]
以下、図面を参照して本発明の実施の形態1に係る車載ストレージシステムを説明する。

[1.1.車載ストレージシステムの構成]

図1aに示す本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、車載ECU4と、ストレージ装置6とを含む。ストレージ装置6は、コントローラ8と、不揮発性メモリであるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10とを含む。ストレージ装置6におけるコントローラ8は、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10へのデータの入力、出力、及び格納に関する制御を行う。車載ECU4とストレージ装置6は、WiFi(登録商標)等に準拠する外部通信モジュール22と接続しており、車載ストレージシステム2は、外部通信モジュール22を経由して、例えば、外部のクラウドストレージとデータ通信をすることができる。
更に、車載ストレージシステム2は、周辺機器として、シートベルトセンサ12、スマートキーセンサ14、ドアセンサ16、エンジンキーセンサ18、及びブレーキセンサ20を含むセンサ群を備え、車載ECU4はそれら周辺機器と接続する。センサ群による検出結果は、車載ECU4に送信される。
シートベルトセンサ12は、運転者のシートベルトの装着と未装着を検出するセンサであり、例えば、運転者がシートベルトを装着すればオン状態となるセンサである。
スマートキーセンサ14は、スマートキーシステムを構成するセンサであり、スマートキー15を持った運転者が所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出するセンサである。スマートキーセンサ14は、スマートキー15が車両3の内部に存在するか外部に存在するかを検出できてもよい。図1bに示すように、車載ECU4は車両3内のルームランプ13とも接続しており、スマートキーセンサ14が、運転者、即ち、スマートキー15の近接を検出する所定の距離は、スマートキー15(即ち、運転者)の近接によりルームランプ13が点灯する距離と、同じものであってもよい。また、スマートキーセンサ14が、運転者、即ち、スマートキー15の近接を検出する所定の距離は、スマートキー15が近づいたときに車両3のドアのロックが自動解除される距離であってもよい。

ドアセンサ16は、ドアの開扉と閉扉を検出するセンサである。ドアセンサ16は、ドアのロックの施錠及び解除を検出することもできる。ドアセンサ16は、車両3のドアの夫々に対して設けられてもよい。
エンジンキーセンサ18は、キーシリンダにてキーがアクセサリ電源をオンにした状態にあること、若しくは、キーシリンダにてキーがイグニッション電源をオンにした状態にあること他、エンジンキーの状態を、検出するセンサである。
ブレーキセンサ20は、ブレーキペダルが運転者により踏まれたことを検出するセンサである。
エンジンキーセンサ18は、キーシリンダにてキーがアクセサリ電源をオンにした状態にあること、若しくは、キーシリンダにてキーがイグニッション電源をオンにした状態にあること他、エンジンキーの状態を、検出するセンサである。
ブレーキセンサ20は、ブレーキペダルが運転者により踏まれたことを検出するセンサである。
これらの、シートベルトセンサ12、スマートキーセンサ14、ドアセンサ16、エンジンキーセンサ18、及び、ブレーキセンサ20は、後で説明する「運転開始予備動作」を検出し特定するためのセンサ群である。
図2は、実施の形態1に係る車載ストレージシステム2の、車載ECU4、ストレージ装置6、及び、通信用バス(メインバス(PCIeバス)32と、サイドバンド用バス(SDバス)16)を中心とするブロック図である。
図2に示すように、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8は、メインバスインタフェース28とサイドバンドインタフェース30とを備える。車載ECU4も同様に、メインバスインタフェース24とサイドバンドインタフェース26とを備える。
車載ストレージシステム2は、高速シリアルインターフェースとしてPCIeを利用しており、車載ECU4のメインバスインタフェース24、及び、ストレージ装置6のメインバスインタフェース28は、メインバス(PCIeバス)32に接続する。メインバス(PCIeバス)32は、外部通信モジュール22とも接続している。なお、メインバスはPCIeバスに限定されるものでは無い。また、メインバスインタフェース24、外部通信モジュール22、及びメインバスインタフェース28の間の接続は、イーサネット(登録商標)等を用いたネットワーク接続であってもよい。
更に、車載ECU4のサイドバンドインタフェース26と、ストレージ装置6のサイドバンドインタフェース30とは、サイドバンド用バス(SDバス)34を介して接続して、データ通信を行う。
ストレージ装置6におけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10は、複数の論理領域に分割される。NAND型フラッシュメモリ10は分割されていなくてもよい。NAND型フラッシュメモリ10は、コントローラ8によりデータの入力、出力、及び格納に関して制御される。
[1.2.車載ストレージシステムの動作]
図3は、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2における、NAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動の動作を示すフローチャートである。図3を用いて、NAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動の動作を説明する。なお、図3に示す動作の前提条件として、ホストである車載ECU4の電源は常にオンとなっている。
図3は、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2における、NAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動の動作を示すフローチャートである。図3を用いて、NAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動の動作を説明する。なお、図3に示す動作の前提条件として、ホストである車載ECU4の電源は常にオンとなっている。
図3に示す高速起動処理は、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10が電源オフとなると開始される(ステップS02)。NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフについては、後で説明する。高速起動処理の開始後、まず、車載ECU4は、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化条件が満たされたかどうか(ステップS04)、及び、エンジンキーがON状態であるかどうか(ステップS16)を、第1の待機状態で確認し続ける(即ち、ステップS04・No、及び、ステップS16・Noを続ける)。
第1の待機状態の間に、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化条件が満たされると(ステップS04・Yes)、即座に、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化の処理(ステップS08~ステップS12)が開始する。
ここで、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化条件が満たされるということは、車載ECU4に送信されるセンサ群による検出結果が、運転開始予備動作を示すものであるということである。前述のように、センサ群は、シートベルトセンサ12、スマートキーセンサ14、ドアセンサ16、エンジンキーセンサ18、及び、ブレーキセンサ20を含む。運転開始予備動作については後で説明する。
NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化の処理(ステップS08~ステップS12)は、以下のものである。先ず、ホストである車載ECU4が、サイドバンドインタフェース(26、30)及びサイドバンド用バス34の初期化を行う(ステップS08)。次に、ホストである車載ECU4が、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8に対してNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を開始する指令を送信し、これを受けて、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8がNAND型フラッシュメモリ10を初期化する(ステップS10)。次に、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8が、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化の完了を、サイドバンド用バス34を介して、ホストである車載ECU4に通知する(ステップS12)。
その後、車載ECU4は、エンジンキーがON状態となるかどうか(ステップS14)を、第2の待機状態で確認し続ける(即ち、ステップS14・Noを続ける)。エンジンキーがON状態となれば(ステップS14・Yes)、ステップS20に移行する。
なお、上述の第1の待機状態において、エンジンキーがON状態であると検出されると(ステップS16・Yes)、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化が既に済んでいるかどうか確認される(ステップS18)。NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化が既に済んでいなければ(ステップS18・No)、ステップS08の冒頭に処理が進み、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化の処理(ステップS08~ステップS12)が行われる。NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化が既に済んでいれば(ステップS18・Yes)、ステップS20に移行する。
ステップS20にて、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8が、メインバスインタフェース(28、24)及びメインバス(PCIeバス)32を初期化する。
続いて、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8が、ストレージ装置6の初期化が完了したことを、メインバス(PCIeバス)32若しくはサイドバンド用バス34を介して、ホストである車載ECU4に通知する(ステップS22)。これを受けて、ホストである車載ECU4はストレージ装置6へのアクセスを開始する(ステップS24)。NAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動処理が終了する(ステップS26)。
図3に示す本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2におけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの高速起動の動作を示すフローチャートにおいてステップS04でYesとなる場合では、ステップS20の直前にて、即ち、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8がメインバスインタフェース(28、24)及びメインバス(PCIeバス)32を初期化するステップの直前にて、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化は終了している。従って、図3には示していないが、実際にはステップS20の直前の、エンジンのスタート直後という早いタイミングにて、車載ECU4によるストレージ装置6へのアクセスを実行することができる。
[1.2.1. 運転開始予備動作]
センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すことについて説明する。上述のように、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化の開始タイミングを早めるものである。その早められるタイミングの指標が、センサ群による運転開始予備動作の検出である。センサ群により検出される運転開始予備動作は、以下の[1]~[6]のものを含む。

これらの運転開始予備動作について詳しく説明する。
センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すことについて説明する。上述のように、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化の開始タイミングを早めるものである。その早められるタイミングの指標が、センサ群による運転開始予備動作の検出である。センサ群により検出される運転開始予備動作は、以下の[1]~[6]のものを含む。
[1]スマートキーが車両へ所定の距離以内に近づいたこと。
[2]スマートキーにより車両のロックが解除されたこと。
[3]運転者によりドアが開けられたこと。
[4]運転者によりドアが閉められたこと。
[5]運転者によりシートベルトが装着されたこと。
[6]運転者によりブレーキペダルが踏まれたこと。
これらの運転開始予備動作について詳しく説明する。
[1.2.1. 1.スマートキーが車両へ所定の距離以内に近づいたこと]
スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15を持った運転者が所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15の近接を検出する所定の距離は、スマートキー15の近接によりルームランプ13が点灯する距離と、同じであってもよい。
スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15を持った運転者が所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15の近接を検出する所定の距離は、スマートキー15の近接によりルームランプ13が点灯する距離と、同じであってもよい。
[1.2.1. 2.スマートキーにより車両のロックが解除されたこと]
スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15を持った運転者が車両3のドアのロックが自動解除される所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。また、運転席のドアセンサ16が、ドアのロックの解除を検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。なお、上述の制御は一例であり、これに限られない。例えばスマートキーに限られない鍵を持った運転者がリモートコントロールまたは鍵穴に対する操作等を介して車両3のドアのロックを解除したことを、検知するセンサをスマートキーセンサ14の代わりとして配置し、当該センサが上記解除を検知したことをもって、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、としてもよい。また、スマートキー15を持った運転者が車両3のドアの外部ノブを操作することで、車両3のドアのロックを解除したことをスマートキーセンサ14が検知したことをもって、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、としてもよい。
スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15を持った運転者が車両3のドアのロックが自動解除される所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。また、運転席のドアセンサ16が、ドアのロックの解除を検出することを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。なお、上述の制御は一例であり、これに限られない。例えばスマートキーに限られない鍵を持った運転者がリモートコントロールまたは鍵穴に対する操作等を介して車両3のドアのロックを解除したことを、検知するセンサをスマートキーセンサ14の代わりとして配置し、当該センサが上記解除を検知したことをもって、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、としてもよい。また、スマートキー15を持った運転者が車両3のドアの外部ノブを操作することで、車両3のドアのロックを解除したことをスマートキーセンサ14が検知したことをもって、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、としてもよい。
[1.2.1. 3.運転者によりドアが開けられたこと]
運転席のドアセンサ16が、ドアの開扉を検出したことを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。なお、ここでの開扉は運転者が車両3に乗り込むための動作であるから、運転開始予備動作としての「運転者によりドアが開けられたこと」は、他の条件や動作と組み合わされて、より確実な運転開始予備動作とされてもよい。例えば、「ドアの外部ノブにより開けられたこと」が組み合わされてもよい。また、「スマートキー15が所定の距離以上に一旦離れたことが、スマートキーセンサ14により検出された後、所定の時間が経過したこと」が組み合わされてもよい。ここでの「スマートキー15が所定の距離以上に一旦離れたこと」は、後で説明するように「バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの電源オフ」に繋がってもよい。更に、「スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15を持った運転者が所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出すること」が組み合わされてもよい。更に、「スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15が車両3の外部に存在することを検出すること」が組み合わされてもよい。

ブレーキセンサ20が、ブレーキペダルが運転者により踏まれたことを検出したことを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。なお、ここでのブレーキペダルの踏み込みは運転者がエンジンを始動させるための動作であるから、運転開始予備動作としての「運転者によりブレーキペダルが踏まれたこと」は、他の条件や動作と組み合わされて、より確実な運転開始予備動作とされてもよい。例えば、「エンジンが掛かっていない状態」が組み合わされてもよい。
ブレーキセンサ20が、ブレーキペダルが運転者により踏まれたことを検出したことを、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すこと、とすることができる。なお、ここでのブレーキペダルの踏み込みは運転者がエンジンを始動させるための動作であるから、運転開始予備動作としての「運転者によりブレーキペダルが踏まれたこと」は、他の条件や動作と組み合わされて、より確実な運転開始予備動作とされてもよい。例えば、「エンジンが掛かっていない状態」が組み合わされてもよい。
[1.2.2. バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリの電源オフ]
本実施の形態に係る、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフについて説明する。
本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、メインバスインタフェース(24、28)を経由する命令とは別に、サイドバンドインタフェース(26、30)を経由してバックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を行っている。従って、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフを行うタイミングも別途定めてもよい。
本実施の形態に係る、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフについて説明する。
本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、メインバスインタフェース(24、28)を経由する命令とは別に、サイドバンドインタフェース(26、30)を経由してバックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を行っている。従って、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフを行うタイミングも別途定めてもよい。
運転者がエンジンを切っても(即ち、エンジンキーをオフとしても)、例えば、車載アクセサリや車載セキュリティシステムにより必要とされ得ることから、ストレージ装置6へのアクセスが行われる可能性はある。そのために、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2においては、基本的にスマートキー15が所定の距離以上に一旦車両3から離れたタイミングで、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源がオフにされる。
スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15が車内に存在することを検出する間には、バックエンドにおけるNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の電源オフを行わないように、ストレージ装置6を制御するようにしてもよい。
なお、バックエンドにアクセスが無い場合に電力消費が無いのであれば、一旦電源が入れられてNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化が行われた後には、電源が落とされないこともあり得る。この場合、次に電源が入るのは、例えば、バッテリ交換等により、車載システムとして全ての電源が落とされた後、再度前述の[1]~[6]を含む「運転開始予備動作」の何れかが示されて、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化が行われるときとなる。
[1.3.まとめ]
本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、コントローラ8とNAND型フラッシュメモリ10とインタフェース(28、30)とを有するストレージ装置6と、車載ECU4と、及び、複数のセンサにより構成されるセンサ群とを搭載する車載ストレージシステム2である。車載ECU4はインタフェース(28、30)を介してストレージ装置6と通信する。センサ群は車載ECU4に自身の検出結果を送信する。車載ECU4は、送信されたセンサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示した場合は、コントローラ8に対してNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を開始する指令を送信する。
本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステム2は、コントローラ8とNAND型フラッシュメモリ10とインタフェース(28、30)とを有するストレージ装置6と、車載ECU4と、及び、複数のセンサにより構成されるセンサ群とを搭載する車載ストレージシステム2である。車載ECU4はインタフェース(28、30)を介してストレージ装置6と通信する。センサ群は車載ECU4に自身の検出結果を送信する。車載ECU4は、送信されたセンサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示した場合は、コントローラ8に対してNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を開始する指令を送信する。
このように構成することにより、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間を実質的に短縮することができる。
更に、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムでは、車載ECU4は、メインバスインタフェース24とサイドバンドインタフェース26を有する。ストレージ装置6のインタフェースは、メインバスインタフェース28とサイドバンドインタフェース30を含む。車載ECU4のメインバスインタフェース24と、ストレージ装置6のメインバスインタフェース28とは、メインバス(PCIeバス)32を介して接続している。車載ECU4のサイドバンドインタフェース26と、ストレージ装置6のサイドバンドインタフェース30とは、サイドバンド用バス34を介して接続している。車載ECU4がコントローラ8に対してNAND型フラッシュメモリ10の初期化を開始する指令を送信するに当たっては、車載ECU4は、車載ECU4のサイドバンドインタフェース26、サイドバンド用バス34、及び、ストレージ装置6のサイドバンドインタフェース30の初期化を行う。
このように構成することにより、メインバス32に従属する装置や機器を不必要に電源オン状態にすることが抑制され、結果として消費電力が抑制される。
更に、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムでは、センサ群がスマートキーセンサ14を含み、運転開始予備動作を示すセンサ群による検出結果が、スマートキーセンサ14による検出結果である。
このように構成することにより、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間を実質的に短縮することができる。
更に、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムでは、センサ群がスマートキーセンサ14を含み、スマートキーセンサ14が、スマートキー15が所定の距離以内に近づいたことを検出することが、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すことである。
このように構成することにより、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間を実質的に短縮することができる。

このように構成することにより、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間を実質的に短縮することができる。
更に、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムでは、センサ群がブレーキセンサ20を含み、エンジンが掛かっていない状態で、ブレーキセンサ20が、ブレーキペダルが踏まれたことを検出することが、センサ群の検出結果が運転開始予備動作を示すことである。
このように構成することにより、本実施の形態に係る車載ストレージシステムは、ストレージ装置の初期化に要する時間を実質的に短縮することができる。

また、指紋認証装置などユーザ(即ち、運転者)を特定し得る装置が本開示の車載ストレージシステム2に備わる場合、ストレージ装置6のコントローラ8が、NAND型フラッシュメモリ10を初期化するに当たり(図3・ステップS10)、初期化する領域においてユーザ制限が設けられるようにしてもよい。即ち、運転者毎に、初期化して利用する領域が変わるように、車載ストレージシステム2が構成されてもよい。このように車載ストレージシステム2が構成されると、NAND型フラッシュメモリの初期化は、より高速化し得ることになる。
