Abstract

Description
본 발명은 방열 및 강성 특성을 확보하면서도 얇은 두께를 갖는 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로, 디스플레이 장치는 화면을 표시하는 장치로, 모니터나 텔레비전 등이 이에 포함된다.
이와 같은 디스플레이 장치로는 음극선관(Cathode Ray Tube)을 이용하는 디스플레이 장치, 발광 다이오드(Light Emitting Diode)를 이용하는 디스플레이 장치, 유기 발광 다이오드(Organic Light Emitting Diode)를 이용하는 디스플레이 장치, 액정 디스플레이 장치(Liquid Crystal Display) 또는 전자 종이 디스플레이 장치 등 다양한 종류가 존재한다.
이 중에서, 유기 발광 다이오드를 이용한 디스플레이 장치는 액정 디스플레이 장치에 비하여 휘도 특성 및 시야각 특성이 우수하고, 백라이트 유닛을 필요로 하지 않아 초박형으로 구현할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
유기 발광 다이오드를 이용한 디스플레이 장치의 경우 방열 및 강성 기준을 모두 만족하기 위해서는 지지 패널의 두께가 두꺼워질 수 밖에 없다.
그러나, 유기 발광 다이오드를 이용한 디스플레이 장치는 초박형으로 구현되기 때문에, 지지 패널의 두께가 두꺼워지면 여러 가지 기계공학 기술적용이 가능한 내부공간을 확보하기 힘든 문제가 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면은 지지 패널의 두께를 얇게 하면서도 방열 및 강성 기준을 모두 만족시킬 수 있는 디스플레이 장치를 제공한다.

상기 지지 패널은 3층 구조를 가지며, 상기 복수의 제1돌출부가 상기 제2바디에 접합되고, 상기 복수의 제2돌출부가 상기 제1바디에 접합되는 이중 접합 구조를 가질 수 있다.
상기 복수의 제1비딩에 의해 상기 제1바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 접촉 면적이 넓어지고, 상기 복수의 제2비딩에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 접촉 면적이 넓어질 수 있다.
상기 디스플레이 패널에서 발생된 열은 상기 제1바디로 흡수되고, 상기 제1바디로 흡수된 열은 상기 제1바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 넓어진 접촉면을 통해 효율적으로 상기 흡열 물질로 전달될 수 있다.
상기 흡열 물질로 전달된 열은 상기 제2바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 넓어진 접촉면을 통해 효율적으로 상기 제2바디로 전달되어 외부로 방출될 수 있다.
상기 복수의 제1비딩 및 복수의 제2비딩은 상기 디스플레이 패널의 온도가 상대적으로 높은 상기 디스플레이 패널의 중심부 및 상단부와 대응되는 위치에 높은 밀도를 갖도록 형성될 수 있다.
상기 복수의 제1돌출부와 상기 복수의 제2돌출부는 각각 접착제에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 제1바디에 접합될 수 있다.
상기 복수의 제1돌출부와 상기 복수의 제2돌출부는 각각 압입 또는 브레이징에 의한 기계적 결합에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 제1바디에 접합될 수 있다.

본 발명의 실시예들에 따르면, 지지 패널의 두께를 얇게 하면서도 방열 및 강성 기준을 모두 만족시킬 수 있다.

도 1 내지 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이, 화상이 표시되는 디스플레이 패널(10)과, 디스플레이 패널(10)의 전방에 배치되는 프론트 커버(20)와, 디스플레이 패널(10)의 후방에 배치되는 지지 패널(100)과, 지지 패널(100)의 후방에 배치되는 제어모듈(30)을 포함할 수 있다.
프론트 커버(20)와 지지 패널(100)은 디스플레이 패널(10)이 전방을 향하도록 디스플레이 장치가 세워져 있을 때를 기준으로 한 것이고, 디스플레이 패널(10)이 상측을 향하도록 디스플레이 장치가 눕혀져 있을 때 프론트 커버(20)는 탑 커버가 될 수 있고, 지지 패널(100)은 바텀 섀시가 될 수 있다.
디스플레이 패널(10)은 유기 발광 다이오드(Organic Light Emitting Diode, OLED)와 같이 백라이트 유닛 없이 자체 발광 할 수 있는 패널일 수 있다.
프론트 커버(20)는 디스플레이 패널(10)의 전방에 배치되어 디스플레이 장치의 전면 테두리 외관을 형성할 수 있다.
지지 패널(100)은 디스플레이 패널(10)의 후방에 배치되어 디스플레이 장치의 후면 외관을 형성할 수 있다. 지지 패널(100)은 디스플레이 패널(10)의 후방에 배치되는 제1바디(110)와, 제1바디(110)의 후방에서 제1바디(110)와 접합되는 제2바디(120)와, 제1바디(110)와 제2바디(120) 사이의 공간에 채워지는 축열 물질(130)을 포함할 수 있다.(도 3 참조) 지지 패널(100)은 자체적으로 디스플레이 장치의 후면 외관을 형성할 수 있고, 별도의 리어 케이스(140)가 지지 패널(100)의 후방에 배치되어 디스플레이 장치의 후면 외관을 형성할 수 있다.
제어모듈(30)은 지지 패널(100)의 후방에 배치되어 디스플레이 패널(10)을 제어할 수 있다. 지지 패널(100)의 후방에 별도의 리어 케이스(140)가 배치되는 경우 제어모듈(30)은 지지 패널(100)과 리어 케이스(140) 사이에 배치될 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 지지 패널의 개략적인 단면도이다.
도 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 지지 패널(100)은 디스플레이 패널(10)의 후방에 배치되는 제1바디(110)와, 제1바디(110)의 후방에서 제1바디(110)와의 사이에 수용공간(S)이 형성되도록 제1바디(110)와 접합되는 제2바디(120)와, 수용공간(S)에 채워지는 흡열 물질(130)을 포함할 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
제1바디(110)는 스틸이나 알루미늄 등의 열전도도가 높고, 강성이 높은 금속일 수 있다. 제1바디(110)는 디스플레이 패널(10)의 후방에 배치되어 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열을 흡수할 수 있다. 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열은 지지 패널(100)을 통해 방열될 수 있다. 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열이 지지 패널(100)을 통해 방열되어 디스플레이 패널(10)의 온도가 높아지는 것을 방지할 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
제2바디(120)는 스틸이나 알루미늄 등의 열전도도가 높고, 강성이 높은 금속일 수 있다. 제2바디(120)는 제1바디(110)의 후방에서 제1바디(110)와의 사이에 수용공간(S)이 형성되도록 제1바디(110)와 접합될 수 있다. 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열이 제1바디(110)로 흡수되면, 제1바디(110)로 흡수된 열은 흡열 물질(130)을 통해 제2바디(120)로 전달될 수 있다. 제2바디(120)로 전달된 열은 외부로 방출될 수 있다. 이로 인해 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열은 지지 패널(100)을 통해 외부로 방열되어 디스플레이 패널(10)의 온도가 높아지는 것을 방지할 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
흡열 물질(130)은 제1바디(110)와 제2바디(120) 사이에 형성되는 수용공간(S) 에 채워질 수 있다. 흡열 물질(130)은 비열이 높고 잠열량이 높은 물질일 수 있다. 흡열 물질(130)은 비열이 높고 잠열량이 높아 제1바디(110)에서 흡수된 열을 효율적으로 전달받을 수 있다. 이로 인해 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생되어 제1바디(110)로 흡수된 열은 빠르게 흡열 물질(130)로 전달되어 디스플레이 패널(10)의 온도상승을 억제할 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
지지 패널(100)은 제1바디(110)와, 흡열 물질(130)과, 제2바디(130)를 포함하는 3층 구조를 이룰 수 있다. 지지 패널(100)이 3층 구조를 갖기 때문에, 열팽창에 의해 리어 커버(100)가 뒤틀리는 변형을 효율적으로 방지할 수 있다.
제1바디(110) 및 제2바디(120)는 각각 서로를 마주보는 방향으로 돌출되는 복수의 비딩(111, 121)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 비딩(111, 121)은 제1바디(110)에서 제2바디(120)를 향해 돌출되는 복수의 제1비딩(111)과, 제2바디(120)에서 제1바디(110)를 향해 돌출되는 복수의 제2비딩(121)을 포함할 수 있다.
복수의 제1비딩(111)은 각각 제2바디(120)를 향해 돌출되는 제1돌출부(113)와, 제1돌출부(113)의 반대면에 형성되는 제1오목부(115)를 포함할 수 있다. 제2바디(120)를 향해 돌출되는 제1돌출부(113)는 제2바디(120)에 접합될 수 있다. 제1돌출부(113)와 제2바디(120)가 접합되는 부분에는 제1접합면(114)이 형성될 수 있다. 제1오목부(115)는 제1돌출부(113)의 반대면에 홈이 파인 형상으로 마련될 수 있다. 제1오목부(115)는 아무것도 채워지지 않는 빈 공간일 수 있다.
복수의 제2비딩(121)은 각각 제1바디(110)를 향해 돌출되는 제2돌출부(123)와, 제2돌출부(123)의 반대면에 형성되는 제2오목부(125)를 포함할 수 있다. 제1바디(110)를 향해 돌출되는 제2돌출부(123)는 제1바디(110)에 접합될 수 있다. 제2돌출부(123)와 제1바디(110)가 접합되는 부분에는 제2접합면(124)이 형성될 수 있다. 제2오목부(125)는 제2돌출부(123)의 반대면에 홈이 파인 형상으로 마련될 수 있다. 제2오목부(125)는 아무것도 채워지지 않는 빈 공간일 수 있다.
지지 패널(110)은 제1바디(110)에 형성된 제1돌출부(113)가 제2바디(120)에 접합되고, 제2바디(120)에 형성된 제2돌출부(123)가 제1바디(110)에 접합되는 이중 접합구조를 가질 수 있다. 지지 패널(110)이 이중 접합구조를 갖기 때문에, 열팽창에 의해 지지 패널(100)이 뒤틀리는 변형을 효율적으로 방지할 수 있다.
제1바디(110)에 형성된 복수의 제1비딩(111)에 의해 수용공간(S)에 채워진 흡열 물질(130)과 제1바디(110)가 접촉되는 면적은 넓어질 수 있다. 제1바디(110)와 흡열 물질(130)과의 접촉면적이 넓어지면, 제1바디(110)로 흡수된 열은 보다 효율적으로 흡열 물질(130)로 전달될 수 있다. 이로 인해 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생되는 열은 보다 효율적으로 방열될 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
제2바디(120)에 형성된 복수의 제2비딩(121)에 의해 수용공간(S)에 채워진 흡열 물질(130)과 제2바디(120)가 접촉되는 면적은 넓어질 수 있다. 제2바디(120)와 흡열 물질(130)과의 접촉면적이 넓어지면, 제1바디(110)로 흡수되어 흡열 물질(130)로 전달된 열은 보다 효율적으로 제2바디(120)로 전달될 수 있다. 이로 인해 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생되는 열은 보다 효율적으로 방열될 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
제1바디(110)와 제2바디(120)를 서로 다른 열전도도를 갖는 부재로 구성하면, 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열이 전달되는 방향을 조절할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열을 흡수하는 제1바디(110)는 열전도도가 높은 금속으로 마련될 수 있다. 제1바디(110)로 흡수된 열을 외부로 방출하는 제2바디(120)는 열전도도가 낮은 금속으로 마련될 수 있다. 제1바디(110)는 열전도도가 높고 제2바디(120)는 열전도도가 낮으면, 제1바디(110)로 흡수된 열은 도면상 세로 방향인 두께 방향으로의 전달이 감소될 수 있다. 두께 방향으로의 열전달이 감소되면 열은 도면상 가로 방향으로 더 잘 전달될 수 있다. 이때, 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생된 열이 전달되는 방향에 따라 흡열 물질(130)은 열전도도가 높거나 낮은 물질로 선정될 수 있다.(도 1 참조)
복수의 제1돌출부(111)와 제2바디(120) 및 복수의 제2돌출부(121)와 제1바디(110)는 각각 접착제에 의해 접합될 수 있다.
복수의 제1돌출부(111)와 제2바디(120) 및 복수의 제2돌출부(121)와 제1바디(110)는 각각 압입 또는 브레이징에 의한 기계적 결합에 의해 접합될 수 있다.

도 4에 도시된 복수의 비딩(111, 121)이 형성된 지지 패널(100)은 제1바디(110)와 제2바디(120)중 하나일 수 있다.
도 4에 도시된 바와 같이, 복수의 비딩(111, 121)은 원 형상을 갖도록 마련되거나, 길이를 갖는 일자 형상을 갖도록 마련될 수 있다. 디스플레이 패널(10)에서 발생되는 열은 디스플레이 패널(10)의 테두리부분 보다는 디스플레이 패널(10)의 중심부 및 상단부에서 상대적으로 온도가 높을 수 있다. 따라서, 복수의 비딩(111, 121)은 상대적으로 높은 온도의 열이 발생되는 디스플레이 패널(10)의 중심부 및 상단부에 대응되는 위치의 지지 패널(100)에 높은 밀도를 갖도록 형성될 수 있다. 도면상에는 복수의 비딩(111, 121)이 일부는 원 형상을 갖고 나머지 일부는 길이를 갖는 일자 형상을 갖는 것으로 도시되어 있지만, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 예를 들면, 복수의 비딩(111, 121)은 모두 원 형상을 갖도록 마련될 수도 있고, 모두 길이를 갖는 일자 형상을 갖도록 마련될 수도 있다. 또한, 다른 실시예로 발광 다이오드를 디스플레이 패널 후면의 일측면에 적용한 엣지형 디스플레이의 경우, 높은 온도의 열이 발생되는 엣지 주변부에 높은 밀도로 복수의 비딩(111, 121)을 형성할 수 있다.
도 5는 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 지지 패널의 제1바디와 제2바디에 홀이 형성된 모습을 개략적으로 도시한 단면도이다.
도 5에 도시된 바와 같이, 복수의 제1돌출부(111)와 제2바디(120)가 접합되는 제1접합면(114)과 대응되는 제2바디(120)에는 홀(126)이 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 제2돌출부(121)와 제1바디(110)가 접합되는 제2접합면(124)과 대응되는 제1바디(110)에는 홀(116)이 형성될 수 있다.

- 디스플레이 패널;상기 디스플레이 패널의 후방에 배치되는 지지 패널; 및상기 지지 패널 후방에 배치되어 상기 디스플레이 패널을 제어하는 제어모듈;을 포함하고,상기 지지 패널은,상기 디스플레이 패널의 후방에 배치되는 제1바디;상기 제1바디의 후방에서 상기 제1바디와의 사이에 수용공간이 형성되도록 상기 제1바디와 접합되는 제2바디; 및상기 수용공간에 채워지며, 상기 디스플레이 패널로부터 발생되어 상기 제1바디로 흡수된 열을 전달받아 상기 디스플레이 패널의 온도상승을 억제하는 흡열 물질;을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제1바디 및 제2바디는 각각 서로를 마주보는 방향으로 돌출되는 복수의 비딩을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 비딩은 상기 제1바디에서 상기 제2바디를 향해 돌출되는 복수의 제1비딩과, 상기 제2바디에서 상기 제1바디를 향해 돌출되는 복수의 제2비딩을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1비딩은 각각 상기 제2바디를 향해 돌출되는 제1돌출부와, 상기 제1돌출부의 반대면에 형성되는 제1오목부를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제2비딩은 각각 상기 제1바디를 향해 돌출되는 제2돌출부와, 상기 제2돌출부의 반대면에 형성되는 제2오목부를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 지지 패널은3층 구조를 가지며, 상기 복수의 제1돌출부가 상기 제2바디에 접합되고, 상기 복수의 제2돌출부가 상기 제1바디에 접합되는 이중 접합 구조를 갖는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1비딩에 의해 상기 제1바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 접촉 면적이 넓어지고, 상기 복수의 제2비딩에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 접촉 면적이 넓어지는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 디스플레이 패널에서 발생된 열은 상기 제1바디로 흡수되고, 상기 제1바디로 흡수된 열은 상기 제1바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 넓어진 접촉면을 통해 효율적으로 상기 흡열 물질로 전달되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 흡열 물질로 전달된 열은 상기 제2바디와 상기 흡열 물질과의 넓어진 접촉면을 통해 효율적으로 상기 제2바디로 전달되어 외부로 방출되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1비딩 및 복수의 제2비딩은 상기 디스플레이 패널의 온도가 상대적으로 높은 상기 디스플레이 패널의 중심부 및 상단부와 대응되는 위치에 높은 밀도를 갖도록 형성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1돌출부와 상기 복수의 제2돌출부는 각각 접착제에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 제1바디에 접합되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1돌출부와 상기 복수의 제2돌출부는 각각 압입 또는 브레이징에 의한 기계적 결합에 의해 상기 제2바디와 상기 제1바디에 접합되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 제1돌출부와 상기 제2바디의 접합면과 대응되는 상기 제2바디 및 상기 복수의 제2돌출부와 상기 제1바디의 접합면과 대응되는 상기 제1바디에는 홀이 형성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제1바디는 상기 제2바디를 마주보는 방향으로 돌출되어 상기 제2바디에 접합되는 복수의 돌출돌기를 포함하고, 상기 제2바디는 상기 제1바디를 마주보는 방향으로 돌출되어 상기 제1바디에 접합되는 복수의 비딩을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 돌출돌기 내부에는 상기 흡열 물질이 채워지고, 상기 복수의 비딩은 각각 상기 1바디를 향해 돌출되는 돌출부와, 상기 돌출부의 반대면에 형성되는 오목부를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
