Definitions
- the present disclosure relates to compositions and their uses.
- a lyotropic liquid crystalline polymer has an isotropic phase with no regularity of molecular chain alignment below the critical concentration, but becomes a liquid crystal phase above the critical concentration.
- the molecular chains are aggregates of minute domains in which the molecular chains are arranged in one direction and exhibit optical anisotropy. Further, when the liquid crystal phase solution undergoes shear deformation, the molecular chains are oriented in the flow direction.
- a rigid rod-shaped polymer it is necessary to use a rigid rod-shaped polymer, but in general, a rigid rod-shaped polymer is difficult to dissolve in water or an organic solvent, so that a corrosive solvent such as sulfuric acid cannot be used. It must be used or dissolved in a high boiling polar solvent at high temperature.

- a method for producing an organic film which comprises a step of applying the composition of the above ⁇ 1> on a substrate in a liquid crystal phase state and drying the polymer (P) in an oriented state.
- Liquid crystal alignment by applying a composition containing a photosensitive compound in the composition of the above ⁇ 1> onto a substrate in a liquid crystal phase state, and drying the polymer (P) in an aligned state.
- a method for producing a patterned liquid crystal alignment film comprising: forming a film; exposing a part of the liquid crystal alignment film; and developing the exposed liquid crystal alignment film.
- an organic film exhibiting excellent optical anisotropy such as optical characteristics and electrical characteristics can be formed by a simple coating process. Description

<重合体(P)>
