この構成によれば、USB端子ユニットの端子接続口に外部機器の接続端子を差し込む位置がずれた場合には、差し込んだ接続端子が端子接続口ではなくケーシングの突出部に突き当たって停止する。このため、USB端子ユニットに接続端子を押し込むように差し込んでも、挿脱方向の挿入側への荷重はケーシングを介して車体側に入力される。このため、接続端子の差し込み時にUSB端子ユニットの端子周辺に対する荷重入力が抑えられ、USB端子ユニットの保護性を高めることができる。
上記鞍乗り型車両のUSB端子ユニット構造では、前記突出部(58)は、前記端子接続口(53)の外周を囲うように設けられてもよい。
この構成によれば、突出部が接続端子の差し込み荷重を分散して受けやすくなり、大きな荷重入力にも耐えやすくなって、USB端子ユニットの保護性をより一層高めることができる。
上記鞍乗り型車両のUSB端子ユニット構造では、前記突出部(58)は、前記挿脱方向(W1)から見て前記端子接続口(53)の周縁に隣接するように設けられ、前記突出部(58)の内周側には、前記挿脱方向(W1)の離脱側ほど前記端子接続口(53)の周縁から離れるように形成されたガイド部(58a)を備えてもよい。
この構成によれば、端子接続口に接続端子を差し込む際、接続端子を端子接続口に近付ければ、ガイド部によって接続端子が端子接続口に向けて案内される。このため、接続端子の差し込みを容易にすることができる。
上記鞍乗り型車両のUSB端子ユニット構造では、前記突出部(58)は、前記挿脱方向(W1)の挿入側の端部に、前記突出部(58)の内側に入った水を前記突出部(58)の外側に導く排水部(58b)を備えてもよい。
この構成によれば、突出部の内側に水が溜まることを抑止し、端子接続口内に水が入り難くして、USB端子ユニットの防水性を高めることができる。
図1には、鞍乗り型車両の一例として、スクータ型の自動二輪車1が示されている。自動二輪車1は、操向輪である前輪3と、駆動輪である後輪4と、を備えている。前輪3は、フロントフォーク3aに支持され、バーハンドル2によって操向可能である。バーハンドル2の左右グリップ2a(図2参照)の内、右グリップ2aにはアクセルグリップが装着されている。後輪4は、スイング式のパワーユニット8に支持され、パワーユニット8によって駆動可能である。図中符号4aは後輪車軸、符号4bはリアクッションを示している。
前輪3と後輪4との間には、運転者が足を置くステップフロア6が設けられている。ステップフロア6の前方には、レッグシールド14が設けられている。ステップフロア6の後方には、リアボディ15が設けられている。
エンジン8aは、車幅方向(左右方向)に沿うクランク軸を有する。エンジン8aには、クランクケース(不図示)の前端部から実質的水平に(詳細にはやや前上がりに)前方へ突出するシリンダ9が設けられている。シリンダ9の上部(吸気側)には、不図示の吸気管が接続されている。シリンダ9の下部(排気側)には、不図示の排気管が接続されている。
伝動装置8bは、クランクケースの車幅方向一側(左側)から後方へ延びる伝動ケース8cを備えている。伝動ケース8cの上方には、吸気管の上流側が接続されるエアクリーナケース9aが支持されている。
ハンドルカバー12は、バーハンドル2を前方から覆うフロントハンドルカバー12aと、バーハンドル2を後方から覆うリアハンドルカバー12bと、を備えている。ハンドルカバー12は、バーハンドル2とともに車体フレームおよび車体カバー11に対して回動可能である。フロントハンドルカバー12aの車幅方向中央部には、ヘッドランプ21が配置されている。リアハンドルカバー12bの車幅方向中央部には、メータユニット22が配置されている。
左右スイッチボックス12cは、例えばハンドルカバー12と一体に設けられている。なお、左右スイッチボックス12cは、ハンドルカバー12と別体に設けられてもよい。左右グリップ2aの前方には、運転者が左右グリップ2aを把持した手で操作可能な左右一対の操作レバー(例えば前後ブレーキレバー)2bが配置されている。左右一対のバックミラー2cは、ハンドルカバー12の車幅方向両側を貫通してバーハンドル2に支持される。
リアコンビランプ23は、リアボディ15の後端部に配置される。リアフェンダ24は、リアコンビランプ23の後下方に延びる。フロントフェンダ25は、ステアリング系とともに回動する。
レッグシールド14の内側(後側)において、車幅方向一側(右側、アクセルグリップと同側)、かつ同側のインナーボックス26よりも車幅方向内側には、イグニッションスイッチ29a、およびシート5等の施錠解除スイッチ29bを含むメインスイッチ29が設けられている。なお、インナーボックス26は、車幅方向でメインスイッチ29と反対側(左側、サイドスタンド19と同側)の一側のみに設けられてもよい。
図3を参照し、自動二輪車1は、スマートフォン等の外部機器を、USB(Universal Serial Bus)コネクタ50によって接続可能としている。USBコネクタ50は、外部機器側のUSBプラグ(接続端子)51と、車両側のソケットとしてのUSBポート(USB端子ユニット)52と、で構成されている。
例えば、本実施形態のUSBポート52は、電源機能および通信機能を持つ。USBポート52は、例えばレッグシールド14左側のインナーボックス26の内側にポート開口53(端子接続口)を配置している。これにより、外部機器をインナーボックス26に収容しながら、この外部機器をUSBポート52に接続したり、外部機器をバーハンドル2周りにマウントしながら、この外部機器をUSBポート52に接続することが可能となっている。
図6、図7はUSBポート52の機能ブロック図を示している。
図6を参照し、USBポート52は、口金部54およびケーシング55を備えている。
口金部54内には、例えば五極の端子(VBUS、D-、D+、CCおよびGND)が配列されている。ケーシング55内には、回路基板62が収容されている。回路基板62は、DC-DCコンバータを含む電圧変換回路部65と、電源とVBUS端子との間を断接するスイッチ回路部66と、D-およびD+端子に跨る端末充電モード検知部67と、CC端子およびスイッチ回路部66に接続され、口金部54へのUSBプラグ51の嵌合を検知するとともにスイッチ回路部66を開閉作動させるかん合検知回路部68と、を備えている。なお、端末充電モード検知部67に代わり、図7に示すように、規定の終端抵抗69を用いることも可能である。
口金部54における挿脱方向W1の一端側(USBプラグ51を離脱させる側、以下、離脱側という。)の端部には、USBプラグ51を挿脱させるポート開口53が形成されている。口金部54の内側には、ポート開口53に臨む複数の端子(図6、図7参照)が配列されている。なお、水がかかる環境での端子の電蝕を抑えるため、ポート開口53内の金属端子部に撥水加工を行うことが望ましくはできる。
この構成によれば、USBポート52のポート開口53に外部機器のUSBプラグ51を差し込む位置がずれた場合には、差し込んだUSBプラグ51がポート開口53ではなくケーシング55の突出部58に突き当たって停止する。このため、USBポート52にUSBプラグ51を押し込むように差し込んでも、挿脱方向W1の挿入側への荷重はケーシング55を介して車体側に入力される。このため、USBプラグ51の差し込み時にUSBポート52の端子周辺に対する荷重入力が抑えられ、USBポート52の保護性を高めることができる。
この構成によれば、突出部58がUSBプラグ51の差し込み荷重を分散して受けやすくなり、大きな荷重入力にも耐えやすくなって、USBポート52の保護性をより一層高めることができる。
この構成によれば、ポート開口53にUSBプラグ51を差し込む際、USBプラグ51をポート開口53に近付ければ、ガイド部58aによってUSBプラグ51がポート開口53に向けて案内される。このため、USBプラグ51の差し込みを容易にすることができる。
この構成によれば、突出部58の内側に水が溜まることを抑止し、ポート開口53内に水が入り難くして、USBポート52の防水性を高めることができる。
本実施形態では、電源機能および通信機能を持つUSBポートを鞍乗り型車両に設置する例を説明したが、これに限らず、電源機能または通信機能を持つUSBポートを鞍乗り型車両に設置する場合に適用してもよい。すなわち、USBポートは、外部機器における電源機能および通信機能を持つ接続端子と、外部機器における電源機能または通信機能を持つ接続端子と、を何れも挿脱可能な端子ユニットである。
そして、上記実施形態における構成は本発明の一例であり、実施形態の構成要素を周知の構成要素に置き換える等、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更が可能である。

- 電源機能および通信機能の少なくとも一方を持ち、外部機器の接続端子(51)を予め定めた挿脱方向(W1)に沿って挿脱させるUSB端子ユニット(52)を備え、
前記USB端子ユニット(52)は、車体側への取り付け部(59)が設けられたケーシング(55)を備え、
前記ケーシング(55)は、前記接続端子(51)を挿脱させる端子接続口(53)よりも挿脱方向(W1)の離脱側に突出する突出部(58)を備えている
