Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Photokatalysatorsystem mit einem Photokatalysator, der von einem Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphat umhüllt ist.

B e s c h r e i b u n g
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf Systeme, mit deren Hilfe es möglich ist,
Kunststoffe abzubauen, bei gleichzeitig weitgehendem Erhalt der Funktionalität der
Kunststoffe.
Weltweit werden inzwischen etwa 400 Mio. Tonnen Kunststoffe jährlich produziert.
Aufgrund mangelnder Rückführung verbrauchter Materialien und einer weltweit marginalen Recycling-Quote werden bis zu 8 Mio. Tonnen Kunststoffe in die Meere/Ozeane eingetragen. Diese Menge ist so groß, dass befürchtet wird, dass etwa im Jahr 2050 mehr Plastik als Fische im Ozean schwimmen. Allerdings existieren heute schon im Pazifik mehrere
Kunststoffstrudel, die u.a. als„Great Pacific Garbage Patch“ bezeichnet werden.
Als Lösung für dieses Müllproblem bieten sich natürlich abbaubare Kunststoffe an. Jedoch birgt dies die Gefahr, dass die Kunststoffe schon bei bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch ihre Funktionalität einbüßen und somit gegenüber konventionellen Kunststoffen nicht zu gebrauchen sind. Außerdem sind nicht für alle gebräuchlichen Kunststoffe abbaubare
Substitute erhältlich.
Ursache für den hohen Anteil an der gesamten Kunststoffnachfrage ist die besonders hohe Stabilität der Polyolefine, was allerdings auch den Befund bedingt, dass diese Materialien besonders langsam in der Umwelt abgebaut werden. Allerdings lässt sich die Stabilität von Polyolefinen oder anderen Polymeren durch Photokatalysatoren deutlich vermindern, hier aber besteht wiederum die Gefahr der vorzeitigen Zersetzung.
Es stellt sich somit die Aufgabe, Stoffe und/oder Systeme zu schaffen, mit deren Hilfe Kunststoffe, insbesondere Polyolefine, gezielt abgebaut werden können.
Diese Aufgabe wird durch Anspruch 1 gelöst. Demgemäß wird ein Photokatalysatorsystem vorgeschlagen, umfassend einen Photokatalysator, welcher mit einer ein
Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphat enthaltenden Beschichtung und/oder Umhüllung versehen ist.
Überraschenderweise hat sich herausgestellt, dass bei den meisten Anwendungen der vorliegenden Erfindung ein derartiger Photokatalysator in Süß- bzw. Trinkwasser stabil ist, sich jedoch die Beschichtung in Meerwasser relativ schnell zersetzt, so dass dann der Photokatalysator aktiviert wird und somit für die Zersetzung z.B. von Polyolefinen sorgen kann. Die vorliegende Erfindung ist aber selbstverständlich auch unabhängig vom Einsatz bei Kunststoffen denkbar und von eigenständiger erfinderischer Bedeutung.
Unter einem„Photokatalysator“ im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung wird insbesondere ein Katalysator verstanden, welcher photochemisch aktiv ist. Besonders bevorzugt besitzt der Photokatalysator eine Absorptionskante im Bereich von > 2 bis < 8 eV.
Insbesondere bevorzugte Photokatalysatoren sind, zusammen mit ihrer Absorptionskante in der folgenden Tabelle aufgelistet, somit umfasst das Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung einen oder mehrere der folgenden
Der Term„Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphat“ ist breitmöglichst zu verstehen und umfasst insbesondere jede Verbindung, die ein Erdalkalimetallkation sowie ein Anion enthält, welches eine O-P-O-P-O-P-O- Kette umfasst.
Ebenfalls sollen Verbindungen, die im allgemeinen Sprachgebrauch oftmals als Oligo- oder Metaphosphate bezeichnet werden, im Sinne dieser Erfindung auch als Polyphosphate gelten.
Das Polyphosphat kann ebenfalls weitere Elemente umfassen, so z.B. dass Sulfate (z. B. über P-O-S- Kettenglieder) oder Borat- bzw. Silikatgruppen ebenfalls im
Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphat enthalten sein können.
Bevorzugte Erdalkalimetalle sind Calcium und/oder Strontium. Der Term„Beschichtung und/oder Umhüllung“ ist insbesondere derart zu verstehen dass bei Vorhandensein des Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphats die katalytische Aktivität des
Photokatalysators herabgesetzt ist.
Besonders bevorzugt liegt das Photokatalysatorsystem in Partikelform vor. Die Erfindung soll jedoch explizit nicht darauf beschränkt sein, es ist auch z. B.: denkbar, dass das
Photokatalysatorsystem als Schicht vorliegt oder als Block.
Wenn das Photokatalysatorsystem in Partikelform vorliegt, ist es insbesondere bevorzugt, dass das Verhältnis der Dicke von Photokatalysator und umgebender Beschichtung und/oder Umhüllung > 0,5:1 bis <5:1 beträgt.
Weiterhin ist es bevorzugt, dass der Durchmesser des Photokatalysators von > 10 nm bis < 20 pm beträgt.
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich außerdem auf eine Kunststoffzusammensetzung umfassend einen Kunststoff und einen erfindungsgemäßen Photokatalysator.
Bevorzugt umfasst dabei der Kunststoff ein Polyolefin, Polyurethan und/oder ein
Polyterephthalat.
Unter Polyolefine im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung werden insbesondere Polymere verstanden, die sich aus der (tatsächlichen oder formellen) Addition von Alkenen ableiten. Dabei sollen unter Polyolefinen im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung auch Kunststoffe umfasst sein, die oftmals nicht unbedingt als Polyolefine bezeichnet werden wie z.B.
Polystyrole, Polyacrylate oder Polyacrylnitrile.
Besonders bevorzugte Polyolefine sind in der US 2015/0090671 Al, US 2014/0296398 Al, WO 2006/119935 Al und/oder US 2005/0148700 Al.
Unter Polyurethanen im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung werden insbesondere Polymere verstanden, welche aus der Polyadditionsreaktion von Diolen und/oder Polyolen mit
Polyisocyanaten entstehen oder ableitbar sind.
Unter Polyterephthalaten im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung werden insbesondere
Polymere verstanden, welche aus der Polykondensationsreaktion voh Diolen und/oder Polyolen mit Terephthalsäure oder Isoterephthalsäure entstehen oder ableitbar sind.
Bevorzugt ist das Photokatalysatorsystem im Kunststoff eingebettet oder von diesem umhüllt, wobei es sich oftmals als zweckmäßig herausgestellt hat, dass dann das
Photokatalysatorsystem in Partikelform vorliegt, wie oben beschrieben.
Die vorgenannten sowie die beanspruchten und in den Ausführungsbeispielen beschriebenen erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Bauteile unterliegen in ihrer Größe, Formgestaltung, Materialauswahl und technischen Konzeption keinen besonderen Ausnahmebedingungen, so dass die in dem Anwendungsgebiet bekannten Auswahlkriterien uneingeschränkt Anwendung finden können.
Weitere Einzelheiten, Merkmale und Vorteile des Gegenstandes der Erfindung ergeben sich aus den Unteransprüchen sowie aus der nachfolgenden Beschreibung der zugehörigen Zeichnungen, in denen - beispielhaft - mehrere Ausführungsbeispiele des erfindungsgemäßen Photokatalysatorsystems dargestellt sind. In den Zeichnungen zeigt:
Fig. 1 ein Reflexionsspektrum eines Photokatalysatorsystems gemäß Beispiel I sowie des zugehörigen Photokatalysators gegen BaS04 als Weißstandard.
Fig. 2 ein Reflexionsspektrum eines Photokatalysatorsystems gemäß Beispiel II sowie des zugehörigen Photokatalysators gegen BaS04 als Weißstandard.

Die vorliegende Erfindung wird nunmehr anhand der Beschreibung der Beispiele erläutert, welche rein als illustrativ und nicht als beschränkend anzusehen sind:
Beispiel I: T1O2 mit Calciumpolyphosphatbeschichtung
Beispiel I bezieht sich auf ein Photokatalysatorsystem mit T1O2 (Anatas) als Photokatalysator und Calciumpolyphosphat als Beschichtung, welches folgendermaßen hergestellt wurde:
0,15 g T1O2 wurden eingewogen, in einem 1000 ml Becherglas mit 400 ml VE-Wasser bei einer Rührgeschwindigkeit von 180 U/min suspendiert (Rührstäbchen, rund: 7 cm x 1 cm). Nachdem der pH-Wert durch NH3 eingestellt wurde, wurden 0,6125 g Natriumpolyphosphat eingewogen und langsam mit 100 ml VE-Wasser in die Suspension zugegeben. In 250 ml VE-Wasser wurden 1,53 g Ca(N03)2* 6 H2O gelöst, in einen 250 ml Tropftrichter überführt und die Lösung wurde innerhalb von 1 Stunde in die TiCh-Suspension zugetropft. Der pH-Wert wurde weiterhin überprüft und konstant auf pH 8,7 gehalten. Nach dem Ausfällen wurde die Suspension mit einem 2 pm Filter abgenutscht und 3x mit ca. 30 ml VE-
Wasser gewaschen. Zum Trocknen wurde der Filterkuchen im Trockenschrank bei 105 °C für 1 Stunde überführt, das trockene Produkt vorsichtig gemörsert und bei 400 °C für 1 Stunde kalziniert. Das Produkt wurde ein weiteres Mal gemörsert.
Das VIS-Spektrum dieses Photokatalysatorsystems sowie des reinen Ti02 gegen BaS04 als Weißstandard ist in Fig. 1 zu sehen.
Beispiel II: T1O2 mit Strontiumpolyphosphatbeschichtung
Beispiel II bezieht sich auf ein Photokatalysatorsystem mit T1O2 (Anatas) als Photokatalysator und Strontiumpolyphosphat als Beschichtung, welches folgendermaßen hergestellt wurde:
0,15 g T1O2 wurden eingewogen, in einem 1000 ml Becherglas mit 400 ml VE-Wasser bei einer Rührgeschwindigkeit von 180 U/min suspendiert (Rührstäbchen, rund: 7 cm x 1 cm). Nachdem der pH-Wert durch NH3 eingestellt wurde, wurden 0,6125 g Natriumpolyphosphat eingewogen und langsam mit 100 ml VE-Wasser in die Suspension zugegeben. In 250 ml VE-Wasser wurden 1,19 g Sr(NCh)2 gelöst, in einen 250 ml Tropftrichter überführt und die Lösung wurde innerhalb von 1 Stunde in die TiCh-Suspension zugetropft. Der pH-Wert wurde weiterhin überprüft und konstant auf pH 8,7 gehalten. Nach dem Ausfällen wurde die Suspension mit einem 2 pm Filter abgenutscht und 3x mit ca. 30 ml VE-Wasser gewaschen. Zum Trocknen wurde der Filterkuchen im Trockenschrank bei 105 °C für 1 Stunde überführt, das trockene Produkt vorsichtig gemörsert und bei 400 °C für 1 Stunde kalziniert. Das Produkt wurde ein weiteres Mal gemörsert.
Das VIS-Spektrum dieses Photokatalysatorsystems sowie des reinen T1O2 gegen BaS04 als Weißstandard ist in Fig. 2 zu sehen.
Abbau von Methylenblau mit Hilfe der Photokatalysatorsysteme lt. Beispiel I und II
Im Folgenden wurde die wechselnde katalytische Aktivität in Leitungs- bzw. Meerwasser anhand von Methylenblau als organische Beispielsubstanz untersucht. Dem Fachmann ist geläufig, dass dies auch auf Kunststoffe, insbesondere Polyolefine übertragbar ist. a) Abbau von Methylenblau in Leitungswasser mit dem Photokatalysatorsystem lt.
Beispiel I
0,2 g beschichtetes Material wurden in 250 ml Leitungswasser in einen Photoreaktor überführt, 1,7 ml Methylenblau-Lösung (1 g/l) mittels Eppendorf-Pipette zugegeben und bei 350 U/min suspendiert (Rührstäbchen, rund: 5 cm x 0,8 cm). Der Reaktor wurde mit 100 ml Leitungs wasser aufgefüllt, die Glashülse mit Schliff eingeführt und die LEDs (365 nm) in die Hülse eingebracht. Der Reaktor wurde mit Alufolie ummantelt und die Wasserkühlung angestellt. Das Labornetzteil (Voltcraft PPS- 11815) wurde unter Stromsteuerung gefahren und ein Strom von 1,25 A eingestellt (entspricht etwa U = 28,0 V). Die Zeit wurde gestoppt und alle 30 Minuten 3 ml Probe gezogen. Zur Vorbereitung für die Photometrie (Thermo Scientific Genesys 10S UV/VIS) wurde die Suspension zentrifugiert (Fisherbrand Gusto) und der Überstand in eine Küvette (lO mm x 10 mm) überführt. Nach der Messung wurde die Suspension wieder den Reaktor zurückgeführt.
Es wurden für den Photoreaktor 8 UV-LEDs (ATI-005HUV3504-C2 Lot No. 1407160956) mit der Wellenlänge von 350 nm (Herstellerangabe) eingesetzt. Die tatsächliche Wellenlänge betrug 365 nm mit der optischen Leistung von 8 x 0,1 W. Aus der Größe des Reaktors und der optischen Leistung kann eine Bestrahlungsstärke von etwa 56 W/m2 berechnet werden.
Die zeitaufgelösten VIS-Spektren sind in Fig. 3 zu sehen. b) Abbau von Methylenblau in Meerwasser mit dem Photokatalysatorsystem lt.
Beispiel I
Der Versuch aus a) wurde wiederholt, nur mit Meerwasser statt Leitungs wasser. Die zeitaufgelösten VIS-Spektren sind in Fig. 4 zu sehen. Fig. 5 zeigt die normierte Extinktion des VIS-Spektrums von Methylenblau in Gegenwart des Photokatalysatorsystems gemäß Beispiel I in Leitungswasser und in Meerwasser. c) Abbau von Methylenblau in Leitungswasser mit dem Photokatalysatorsystem lt.
Beispiel II
0,4268 g beschichtetes Material wurden in 250 ml Leitungswasser in einen Photoreaktor überführt, 1,7 ml Methylenblau-Lösung (1 g/l) mittels Eppendorf-Pipette zugegeben und bei 350 U/min suspendiert (Rührstäbchen, rund: 5 cm x 0,8 cm). Der Reaktor wurde mit 100 ml Leitungs wasser aufgefüllt, die Glashülse mit Schliff eingeführt und die LEDs (365 nm) in die Hülse eingebracht. Der Reaktor wurde mit Alufolie ummantelt und die Wasserkühlung angestellt. Aus der Größe des Reaktors und der optischen Leistung kann eine Bestrahlungsstärke von etwa 56 W/m2 berechnet werden.
Die zeitaufgelösten VIS-Spektren sind in Lig. 6 zu sehen. d) Abbau von Methylenblau in Meerwasser mit dem Photokatalysatorsystem lt.
Beispiel II
Der Versuch aus c) wurde wiederholt, nur mit Meerwasser statt Leitungs wasser. Die zeitaufgelösten VIS-Spektren sind in Fig. 7 zu sehen. Fig. 8 zeigt die normierte Extinktion des VIS-Spektrums von Methylenblau in Gegenwart des Photokatalysatorsystems gemäß Beispiel II in Leitungswasser, in Meerwasser und als Blindwert, d.h. in Anwesenheit derselben Menge an Material, jedoch nur mit SrPP, ohne Katalysator.
Im Ergebnis ist deutlich zu sehen, dass das erfindungsgemäße Photokatalysatorsystem in Leitungs wasser nahezu inaktiv ist (besonders aus Fig. 8), während in Meerwasser ein rascher Abbau des Methylenblaus erfolgt.
Die einzelnen Kombinationen der Bestandteile und der Merkmale von den bereits erwähnten Ausführungen sind exemplarisch; der Austausch und die Substitution dieser Lehren mit anderen Lehren, die in dieser Druckschrift enthalten sind mit den zitierten Druckschriften werden ebenfalls ausdrücklich erwogen. Der Fachmann erkennt, dass Variationen,
Modifikationen und andere Ausführungen, die hier beschrieben werden, ebenfalls auftreten können ohne von dem Erfindung sgedanken und dem Umfang der Erfindung abzu weichen. Entsprechend ist die obengenannte Beschreibung beispielhaft und nicht als beschränkend anzusehen. Das in den Ansprüchen verwendete Wort„umfassen“ schließt nicht andere Bestandteile oder Schritte aus. Der unbestimmte Artikel„ein“ schließt nicht die Bedeutung eines Plurals aus. Die bloße Tatsache, dass bestimmte Maße in gegenseitig verschiedenen Ansprüchen rezitiert werden, verdeutlicht nicht, dass eine Kombination von diesen Maßen nicht zum Vorteil benutzt werde kann. Der Umfang der Erfindung ist in den folgenden Ansprüchen definiert und den dazugehörigen Äquivalenten.
Claims
1. Photokatalysatorsystem, umfassend einen Photokatalysator mit einer ein
Erdalkalimetallpolyphosphat enthaltenden Beschichtung und/oder Umhüllung.
2. Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Erdalkalimetall
ausgewählt ist aus Calcium und/oder Strontium.
3. Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei der Photokatalysator eine Bandlücke zwischen 3 und 8 eV aufweist
4. Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei der Photokatalysator ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe enthaltend Ti02 (insbesondere Anatas), La2(Zr,Hf)3(Mo04)9, Lnx(Ti,Zr,Hf)yOz, Cex(Mo,W)yOz, Lnx(Zr,Hf)yOz, Bix(Mo,W)yOz, Ln2(Mo,W)209, Mex(Mo,W)yOz [Me = Mg, Ca, Sr, Na, K]], MexTayOz [Me = Mg, Ca, Sr, Na, K] MexNbyOz [Me = Mg, Ca, Sr, Na, K], BiV04, ZnO, LnM2Al05:Eu3+ Ln = Y3+, La3+; M = Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ oder Mischungen daraus.
5. Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, wobei das
Photokatalysatorsystem in Form von Partikeln vorliegt.
6. Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß Anspruch 5, wobei die mittlere Größe der
Partikel vorzugsweise zwischen 10 nm und 20 pm liegt.
7. Photokatalysatosystem gemäß Anspruch 5 oder 6, wobei das Verhältnis der Dicke von Photokatalysator und umgebender Beschichtung und/oder
Umhüllung > 0,5:1 bis <5:1 beträgt
8. Kunststoffzusammensetzung, umfassend einen Kunststoff und ein
Photokatalysatorsystem gemäß der Ansprüche 1 bis 7.
9. Kunststoffzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, wobei der Kunststoff ein Polyolefin, Polystyrol, Polyurethan oder ein Polyterephthalat umfasst.
10. Kunststoffzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8 oder 9, wobei das
Photokatalysatorsystem im Kunststoff eingebettet oder von diesem umhüllt vorliegt.
