Abstract
フィルム一体ガスケット(11)は、装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を小さくして低反力の要求に応えるように、樹脂フィルムによって形成されたガスケット支持体(21)によってガスケット本体(31)を支持し、ガスケット本体(31)を支持する位置のフィルム厚み(t2)をその隣接位置のフィルム厚み(t1)よりも小さく設定している。フィルム一体ガスケット(11)は、一例としてガスケット本体(31)を支持する位置に厚み方向に圧縮された部分を設け、この部分によって厚みの差を設定している。別の一例としてはフィルム一体ガスケット(11)は、ガスケット本体(31)を支持する位置の隣接位置に樹脂フィルムを複数重ねた部分を設け、この部分によって厚みの差を設定している。
Description
本発明は、シール技術に係るフィルム一体ガスケットに関する。本発明のフィルム一体ガスケットは例えば、燃料電池用ガスケットとして用いられ、またはその他一般のガスケットとして用いられる。
従来から燃料電池用ガスケットとして図8(A)(B)に示すように、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21と、このガスケット支持体21の平面上に設けられガスケット支持体21に支持されるガスケット本体31とを有するフィルム一体ガスケット11が知られている。
このフィルム一体ガスケット11は、ガスケット支持体21によってガスケット本体31を支持し補強するため、図9(A)に示す従前の、ガスケット本体のみよりなるラバーオンリータイプのガスケット51と比較して、取り扱い性向上の観点から、組み付け工数の削減などに非常に大きな効果がある。
しかしながら、このフィルム一体ガスケット11はその構成上、ラバーオンリータイプのガスケット51と比較して実機装着時における厚み方向のゴム圧縮率が大きくなる。そのため、ゴム反力が高くなり、低反力要求のある装着箇所に使用しにくいことがある。近年、燃料電池ではスタック構成が複雑になり、ガスケットへの要求として、取り扱い性を確保しつつ、低反力を満足するものが求められる。
尚、圧縮率は、以下のように示される。
ラバーオンリータイプのガスケット51では図9(A)に示すように、ガスケット基部52およびシールリップ53の組み合わせよりなるガスケット51全体の厚みをa、装着箇所の厚み(装着クリアランスの幅)をb(ただしa>b)、両者の差すなわち圧縮量をcとして、圧縮率は

本発明の課題は、フィルム一体ガスケットであっても、装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を小さくすることである。
本発明のフィルム一体ガスケットは、ガスケット本体と、樹脂フィルムによって形成され、前記ガスケット本体を支持し、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置のフィルム厚みがその隣接位置のフィルム厚みよりも小さいガスケット支持体と、を備えている。
本発明によれば、フィルム一体ガスケットであっても、装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を小さくすることができる。
第1実施の形態・・・・
図1に示すように、本実施の形態のフィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなる平板状のガスケット支持体21と、このガスケット支持体21の平面上に設けられ、このガスケット支持体21に支持されたゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31とを有するフィルム一体ガスケットである。フィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット本体31を支持する位置(以下、ガスケット支持位置とも称する)22のフィルム厚みt2が、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく形成されている(t2<t1)。
図1に示すように、本実施の形態のフィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなる平板状のガスケット支持体21と、このガスケット支持体21の平面上に設けられ、このガスケット支持体21に支持されたゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31とを有するフィルム一体ガスケットである。フィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット本体31を支持する位置(以下、ガスケット支持位置とも称する)22のフィルム厚みt2が、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく形成されている(t2<t1)。
樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21では、ガスケット支持位置22のみが厚み方向に圧縮加工され、隣接位置23は圧縮加工されていない。つまりガスケット本体31を支持する位置に、厚み方向に圧縮された部分を有している。この部分によって、ガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みt2は、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく設定されている(t2<t1)。
隣接位置23は、ガスケット支持位置22の外周側の位置および内周側の位置の双方とされている。
フィルム厚みの目安としては、隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1がガスケット本体31を支持するのに十分な値の、従来と同等とされ(例えば0.2mm以上)、ガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みt2はこれよりも薄いものとされている(例えば0.1mm未満)。
厚み方向に圧縮された部分の圧縮は、熱プレス法による。
樹脂フィルムの材質としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、ポリイミド系、エステル系、アミド系、イミド系等の汎用フィルムが使用可能である。
ガスケット支持位置22はガスケット本体31に沿って配置され、ガスケット本体31はガスケット11のシールラインに沿って配置されているので、ガスケット支持位置22はガスケット11のシールラインに沿って配置されている。
一方、ゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31は、平板状のガスケット基部32に断面三角形のシールリップ33を組み合わせた形状とされている。
ガスケット11製造の手順としては、図2(A)に示すように、全面に亙って一定の初期厚みt1を備える樹脂フィルムよりなる平板状のガスケット支持体21を用意する。次に図2(B)に示すように、ガスケット支持体21をプレス治具にかけてガスケット支持位置22のみを圧縮し、ガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みをt1からt2へ減少させる。その結果として、ガスケット支持位置22に溝状の凹部24が形成される。次いで図2(C)に示すように、ガスケット支持位置22であって溝状の凹部24底面上に、別途製作したガスケット本体31を接着し、或いは金型を用いてガスケット本体31を一体成形する。接着には接着剤を使用するが、ガスケット本体31が自己接着タイプのゴム材質であれば、接着剤は不要とされる。
図3(A)(B)(C)に示すようにプレス治具41は、ベース42上で稼働するプレス型43を備え、このプレス型43にプレス用突起部44が設けられ、この突起部44により凹部24を反転形成する。
上記構成を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11によれば、ガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1のままであれば、その圧縮率が

で表される。これに対してガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1からt2へ減じられてその圧縮率が

で表されるため、t1>t2であるのに伴って、圧縮率が小さくなる。したがってフィルム一体ガスケット11であっても、装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を可及的に小さくすることができ、低反力特性を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11を提供することができる。

で表される。これに対してガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1からt2へ減じられてその圧縮率が

で表されるため、t1>t2であるのに伴って、圧縮率が小さくなる。したがってフィルム一体ガスケット11であっても、装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を可及的に小さくすることができ、低反力特性を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11を提供することができる。
図4は、比較試験の結果を示している。試料としては、外形(平面形状)400mm×200mmの長方形、厚み1mmのフィルム一体ガスケット11を作製した。フィルムとしては初期厚みt1=0.25mmのポリプロピレン(PP)を使用し、比較例ではフィルムを圧縮せず、実施例ではフィルムを部分的に圧縮してガスケット支持位置22におけるフィルム厚みを0.15mm減じ、0.10mmとした。ガスケット本体31の材質はL-VMQとした。
比較試験の結果によれば、実施例では、取り扱い性が依然として良好であり、しかも図4のグラフ図に示すように、FEM解析にて比較すると、およそ70%低反力となることを確認することができた。図4のグラフ図は、比較例を点線で示し、実施例を実線で示している。
第2実施の形態・・・・
図5に示すように、本実施の形態のフィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなる平板状のガスケット支持体21と、このガスケット支持体21の平面上に設けられ、このガスケット支持体21に支持されたゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31とを有するフィルム一体ガスケットである。フィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット本体31を支持する位置(以下、ガスケット支持位置とも称する)22のフィルム厚みt2が、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく形成されている(t2<t1)。
図5に示すように、本実施の形態のフィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなる平板状のガスケット支持体21と、このガスケット支持体21の平面上に設けられ、このガスケット支持体21に支持されたゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31とを有するフィルム一体ガスケットである。フィルム一体ガスケット11は、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット本体31を支持する位置(以下、ガスケット支持位置とも称する)22のフィルム厚みt2が、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく形成されている(t2<t1)。
ここで、樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体21は、ガスケット支持位置22で薄肉の樹脂フィルム(第1の樹脂フィルム)の1枚構造(単層構造)とされるとともに、隣接位置23で薄肉の樹脂フィルム(第1の樹脂フィルム)に第2の樹脂フィルムよりなる補強体25を重ね合わせて接着した複数枚構造(積層構造)とされている。つまりガスケット本体31を支持する位置の隣接位置23に、樹脂フィルムを複数重ねた部分を有している。この部分によって、ガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みt2は、その隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1よりも小さく設定されている(t2<t1)。
隣接位置23は、ガスケット支持位置22の外周側の位置とされている。
フィルム厚みの目安としては、隣接位置23のフィルム厚みt1(第1および第2の樹脂フィルムの積層構造)がガスケット本体31を支持するのに十分な値の、従来と同等とされ(例えば0.2mm以上)、ガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みt2(第1の樹脂フィルムの単層構造)はこれよりも薄いものとされている(例えば0.1mm未満)。
フィルムの材質としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、ポリイミド系、エステル系、アミド系、イミド系等の汎用フィルムが使用可能であり、第1の樹脂フィルムと第2の樹脂フィルムでは同種のみならず異種の材質を選定することもできる。
ガスケット支持位置22はガスケット本体31に沿って配置され、ガスケット本体31はガスケット11のシールラインに沿って配置されているので、ガスケット支持位置22はガスケット11のシールラインに沿って配置されている。
一方、ゴム状弾性体よりなるガスケット本体31は、平板状のガスケット基部32に断面三角形のシールリップ33を組み合わせた形状とされている。
上記構成を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11によれば、ガスケット支持体21におけるガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1であれば、その圧縮率が
圧縮率=c/(a-t1)×100(%) ・・・・・・(3)式
で表される。これに対してガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1からt2へ減じられてその圧縮率が
圧縮率:c/(a-t2)×100(%) ・・・・・・(4)式
で表されるため、t1>t2であるのに伴って、圧縮率が小さくなる。したがってフィルム一体ガスケット11であっても装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を可及的に小さくすることができ、低反力特性を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11を提供することができる。

で表される。これに対してガスケット支持位置22のフィルム厚みがt1からt2へ減じられてその圧縮率が

で表されるため、t1>t2であるのに伴って、圧縮率が小さくなる。したがってフィルム一体ガスケット11であっても装着時における厚み方向の圧縮率を可及的に小さくすることができ、低反力特性を備えるフィルム一体ガスケット11を提供することができる。
尚、上記第2実施の形態では、隣接位置23すなわち、第1の樹脂フィルムよりなるガスケット支持体31に対し第2の樹脂フィルムよりなる補強体25を重ね合わせて接着する位置(接着位置)がガスケット支持位置22の外周側の4辺全周に亙って配置されているが、この隣接位置23の配置は適宜に変更することが可能である。
第3実施の形態として示す図6では、この隣接位置23ないし接着位置が、ガスケット支持位置22の外周側の4辺全周に亙って配置され、加えて、ガスケット支持位置22の内周側のうちの長手辺の内周側に配置されている。
また、第4実施の形態として示す図7では、この隣接位置23が、ガスケット支持位置22の外周側のうちの長手辺の外周側のみとされている。

- ガスケット本体と、
樹脂フィルムによって形成され、前記ガスケット本体を支持し、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置のフィルム厚みがその隣接位置のフィルム厚みよりも小さいガスケット支持体と、
を備えることを特徴とするフィルム一体ガスケット。 - 前記ガスケット支持体は、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置に、厚み方向に圧縮された部分を有し、この部分によって、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置のフィルム厚みがその隣接位置のフィルム厚みよりも小さく設定されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のフィルム一体ガスケット。 - 前記ガスケット支持体は、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置の隣接位置に、樹脂フィルムを複数重ねた部分を有し、この部分によって、前記ガスケット本体を支持する位置のフィルム厚みがその隣接位置のフィルム厚みよりも小さく設定されている、
