Abstract
Description
で表される化合物の少なくとも1種である。分解抑制剤は、カルボジイミド化合物、オキサゾリン化合物、オキサジン化合物およびエポキシ化合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であり、分解促進剤を、分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~20質量部含有し、分解抑制剤を、分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~3質量部含有するものである。
はじめに、本明細書において分解性とは、土壌中の微生物によって分解される生分解性、または、フラクチャリング流体等の溶媒、特に、水によって、さらに所望により酸またはアルカリによって分解する加水分解性、中でも所定温度以上の水によって分解する加水分解性、さらには他の何らかの方法によって化学的に分解することができる分解性を意味する。さらには、本明細書における分解性とは、例えば、重合度の低下等によりゴムが本来有した強度が低下して脆くなる結果、極めて小さい機械的力を加えることにより、詳しくは後述するダウンホールツール用部材が容易に崩壊して形状を失うこと(崩壊性)をも意味する。
ウレタンゴムは、ウレタンエラストマーとも呼ばれ、分子中にウレタン結合(-NH-CO-O-)を有するゴム材料の一種である。ウレタンゴムは、通常、イソシアネート化合物と水酸基を有する化合物とを縮合反応して得られる。この縮合反応において用いられるイソシアネート化合物としては、例えば芳香族、脂肪族、脂環族系のジ、トリ、またはテトラ系のポリイソシアネート類、またはこれらの混合物が挙げられる。芳香族は、複数の芳香族環を有していてもよい。また、この縮合反応において用いられる水酸基を有する化合物として、例えば、その主鎖にエステル結合を有するポリエステル型ウレタンゴム(以下、単に「エステル型ウレタンゴム」ともいう)と、その主鎖にエーテル結合を有するポリエーテル型ウレタンゴム(以下、単に「エーテル型ウレタンゴム」ともいう)とが挙げられる。本実施形態では、ダウンホールツール用組成物の分解性および崩壊性等の制御がより容易であることから、ウレタンゴムはエステル型ウレタンゴムであることが好ましい。
ポリエステル系熱可塑性エラストマーは、ポリエステル系ブロック共重合体を主成分としたエラストマーである。ポリエステル系熱可塑性エラストマーとして、具体的には、例えばポリエステルからなるハードセグメントとポリエーテルからなるソフトセグメントとのブロック共重合体(以下、このブロック共重合体を「第1のブロック共重合体」という)が挙げられる。第1のブロック共重合体を構成するハードセグメントとして、例えば芳香族ポリエステル、および脂肪族ポリエステル等が挙げられ、具体的には、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、ポリブチレンナフタレート、およびポリヒドロキシアルカン酸等が挙げられる。第1のブロック共重合体を構成するソフトセグメントとしは、例えばポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、およびポリテトラメチレンエーテルグリコール等のポリエーテルが挙げられる。
ポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマーは、ポリアミドからなるハードセグメントとポリエーテルおよび/またはポリエステルからなるソフトセグメントとのブロック共重合体(以下、このブロック共重合体を「第3のブロック共重合体」という)である。第3のブロック共重合体を構成するハードセグメントとしては、例えば、脂肪族ポリアミドが挙げられ、具体的には、ナイロン6、ナイロン11、およびナイロン12等が挙げられる。また、第3のブロック共重合体を構成するソフトセグメントとしては、例えばポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、およびポリテトラメチレンエーテルグリコール等のポリエーテルが挙げられる。第3のブロック共重合体を構成するこれらのハードセグメントおよびソフトセグメントは、所望のエラストマーの物性、特に所望の分解特性および機械特性に適合するように、ハードセグメントおよびソフトセグメントの種類またはこれらの比率を調整することが可能である。さらに必要に応じて各種配合剤と組み合わせることによって、所望の物性を有するポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマーとしてもよい。ポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマーは、ゴムとプラスチックとの中間的な性質を有し、射出成形、押出成形、およびブロー成形等の各種成形加工が可能である。また、ポリアミド系熱可塑性エラストマーはアミド結合を有しているため、高温高圧下で加水分解を生じ、分解をし易く、崩壊しやすいという特性がある。
続いて、本実施形態の分解促進剤について説明する。本実施形態における分解促進剤は、分解性ゴムの分解速度を調整するものであって、具体的には、分解性ゴムのゴム分子の主鎖の結合を切断する反応を促進する機能、または分解性ゴムを可塑化する機能を有するものである。本実施形態の分解促進剤は、上述した一般式(I)または(II)で表される化合物の少なくとも1種である。分解促進剤は、加水分解を促進させる化合物であることが好ましい。

本実施形態における分解抑制剤とは、カルボキシル基、ヒドロキシル基、または水と反応する化合物であって、カルボジイミド化合物、オキサゾリン化合物、オキサジン化合物およびエポキシ化合物よりなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である。カルボジイミド化合物としては、例えばN,N-2,6-ジイソプロピルフェニルカルボジイミド、およびN,N’-ジシクロヘキシルカルボジイミド等が挙げられる。オキサゾリン化合物としては、例えば2,2’-m-フェニレンビス(2-オキサゾリン)等が挙げられる。オキサジン化合物としては、例えば2-メトキシ-5,6-ジヒドロ-4H-1,3-オキサジン等が挙げられる。エポキシ化合物としては、例えばN-グリシジルフタルイミド、およびシクロヘキセンオキシド等が挙げられる。
可塑剤は、分解性ゴムを可塑化する機能、具体的にはトルク低下、または軟化等の機能を有するものであればよい。可塑剤を含有するダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物を用いて作製されたダウンホールツール用部材であれば、ダウンホールツール用部材内への水(なお、この水は酸性物質またはアルカリ性物質を含有してもよい)の浸入が促進される。そのため、可塑剤を含有するダウンホールツール用組成物から作製されたダウンホールツール用部材であれば、ダウンホールツールの表面から分解が進行する場合と比較して、より速くダウンホールツール用部材における分解性ゴムの分解が進行するものと推察される。
硬化剤として、公知の硬化剤を使用することができる。硬化剤としては、例えば、3,3’-ジクロロ-4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン(MOCA)、ジメチルチオトルエンジアミン、イソホロンジアミン、ピペラジン、1,3-プロパンジオール、1,4-ブタンジオール、1,6-ヘキサンジオール、ネオペンチルグリコール、1,4-シクロヘキサンジメタノール、ヒドロキノンジ(2-ヒドロキシエチルエーテル)、1,1,1-トリメチロールプロパンおよびグリセリン等が挙げられる。
強化材としては、機械的強度および耐熱性の向上等を目的として使用されている公知の強化材を使用することができる。このような強化材として、例えば、繊維状強化材、粒状または粉末状強化材が挙げられる。
他の樹脂は、分解性ゴム以外の分解性高分子、または、分解性を有しない樹脂等が挙げられる。他の樹脂としては、例えば、ダウンホールツール用部材に対してシール機能の喪失を促進することが所望される場合には、他の樹脂は、例えば、ポリグリコール酸、ステレオコンプレックス型ポリ乳酸、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリブチレンアジペート/テレフタレート、およびポリブチレンサクシネート/アジペート等であることが好ましい。また、分解性を有しない樹脂としては、ポリエチレンテレフタレート等の芳香族ポリエステル、およびポリスチレンなどの熱可塑性樹脂、ならびに;ニトリルゴム、水添ニトリルゴム、およびエチレン・プロピレン・ジエン三元共重合体(EPDM)等が挙げられる。
上述したように、本実施形態のダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物は、分解性ゴムに対して特定の分解促進剤と分解抑制剤とをそれぞれ特定量含有することで、空気中で所定時間保管しても引張破断強度が所定値以上である。加えて、ダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物は、坑井流体中での分解挙動が、分解促進剤のみを含有する分解性ゴムと同等の特性を示す。具体的には、ダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物は、30℃90%RHの空気中で7日保管した場合、実使用時の温度によってゴムに要求される強度は変化するが、主にはダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物の引張破断強度は5MPa以上、好ましくは10MPa以上である。なお、引張破断強度は23℃ 50%RHという条件下で測定した値である。
ダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物の調製は、特に限定されず、例えば上述した各種成分を慣用の方法で混合することによって調製すればよい。
本実施形態におけるダウンホールツール用部材とは、坑井掘削処理において用いられる各種部材を意味する。ダウンホールツール用部材としては、具体的には、例えば、フラッグプラグおよびブリッジプラグ等に使用されるシール部材ならびに保護部材等、フラックボール、およびパーフォレーション用のボール等が挙げられる。
本実施形態のダウンホールツール用部材は、ダウンホール環境、具体的には、その環境の多くは60℃(140度F)~204℃(400度F)程度の温度の水中であり、近年はさらに25~40℃程度の低温のダウンホール環境において、数時間~数週間以内で、所望によっては数日間以内で分解する。したがってこのようなダウンホールツール用部材を用いれば、坑井掘削時において、ダウンホールツール用部材を回収する、あるいは物理的に破壊する等の操作を完全に不要とすることができる。さらに、本実施形態のダウンホールツール用部材によれば、経時変化による分解性ゴムの引張破断強度の低下が少ないことから、保管性にも優れる。
〔まとめ〕
で表される化合物の少なくとも1種であり、分解抑制剤は、カルボジイミド化合物、オキサゾリン化合物、オキサジン化合物およびエポキシ化合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であり、分解促進剤を、分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~20質量部含有し、分解抑制剤を、分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~3質量部含有するものである。
(原料)
分解性ゴムとしてポリエステル系プレポリマーであるパンデックス380E(DIC株式会社製)を使用した。分解促進剤としてp-トルエンスルホン酸エチル(EPTS)(東京化成工業株式会社製)を使用した。分解抑制剤としてビス(2,6-ジイソプロピルフェニル)カルボジイミド(CDI)(ラインケミー社製Stabaxol I)を使用した。また、硬化剤として3,3’-ジクロロ-4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタン(MOCA)を使用した。
パンデックス380Eを100℃に加温し、撹拌しながら、パンデックス380E 100質量部に対して1質量部となるように、CDIを添加し、5分間撹拌し、真空引きによって脱泡した。その後、パンデックス380E 100質量部に対して3質量部となるように、EPTSを添加した。続いて、MOCAをパンデックス380E 100質量部に対して9.8質量部となるように添加し、100℃で5分間撹拌し、ゴム材料用組成物を調製した。
得られたゴム材料用組成物を金型に注いだ。85℃の温度で加温することによってゴム材料用組成物を硬化させ、固形のゴム材料サンプルを作製した。
パンデックス380E 100質量部に対してEPTSを5質量部添加したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ゴム材料組成物を作製した。
パンデックス380E 100質量部に対してCDIを3質量部、EPTSを5質量部添加したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ゴム材料組成物を作製した。
パンデックス380E 100質量部に対してEPTSを4質量部添加したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ゴム材料組成物を作製した。
パンデックス380E 100質量部に対してCDIを2質量部、EPTSを4質量部添加したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ゴム材料組成物を作製した。
パンデックス380E 100質量部に対してCDIを3質量部、EPTSを4質量部添加したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、ゴム材料組成物を作製した。
CDIを添加しなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてゴム材料サンプルを作製した。
CDIを添加しなかったこと以外は、実施例2と同様にしてゴム材料サンプルを作製した。
分解性のゴム材料は、分解性の進展により表面硬度が低下する。そこで、分解の指標として表面硬度を測定することで、ゴム材料サンプルの分解性について評価した。具体的には、実施例1から6ならびに比較例1および2それぞれのゴム材料サンプルを水に浸漬することによって、ゴム材料サンプルの分解試験を行った。操作手順は次の通りである。
ダウンホールツール用部材の一つであるシール部材は、その使用場面において、シール部材に応力を印加し、変形させることでシール機能を発揮させる必要がある。このとき、印加された応力によってシール部材が破断してしまうと、所期のシール性能が発揮することができないことになる。このようなことから、ダウンホールツール用部材を保管するにあたり、ダウンホールツール用部材を形成する材料には、経時変化による引張破断強度の低下が少ないことが求められる。そこで、空気中でのダウンホールツール用部材の保管を想定して、30℃、90%RH条件下に、実施例1および実施例3から6、ならびに比較例1それぞれによって得られたゴム材料サンプルを保持した場合における、ゴム材料サンプルの引張破断強度を測定した。

- 分解性ゴムと、分解促進剤と、分解抑制剤とを含有し、
上記分解促進剤は、次の一般式(I)または(II)
で表される化合物の少なくとも1種であり、
上記分解抑制剤は、カルボジイミド化合物、オキサゾリン化合物、オキサジン化合物およびエポキシ化合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であり、
上記分解促進剤を、上記分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~20質量部含有し、
上記分解抑制剤を、上記分解性ゴム100質量部に対して0.1~3質量部含有するダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物。 - 上記式(I)において、Rが、エチル基、ブチル基またはヘキシル基である請求項1に記載のダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物。
- 上記式(II)において、R1、R2はそれぞれ独立に、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基またはブチル基である請求項1または2に記載のダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物。
- 上記分解性ゴムは、加水分解性の官能基を有する請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のダウンホールツール用ゴム組成物を用いて作製されたダウンホールツール用部材。
