- the nonvolatile memory or HDD of the storage unit 12 stores a first level or a second level indicating a mode in which the CPU executes IPFAX communication.
- the CPU executes IPFAX communication in the first mode.
- the “second level” is stored in the storage unit 12, the CPU executes IPFAX communication in the second mode.
- the “first mode” is a mode in which the CPU preferentially executes IPFAX communication after canceling an incomplete job (job other than IPFAX communication, such as a print job).
- the “second mode” is a mode in which the CPU executes incomplete jobs (jobs other than IPFAX communication, print jobs, etc.) and IPFAX communication in parallel.
- the first level or the second level is typically registered in the storage unit 12 by the worker before shipment of the information processing apparatus 10 according to the performance of the CPU.
- the first level is registered in the information processing apparatus on which the relatively low performance CPU is mounted, and the second level is registered in the information processing apparatus on which the relatively high performance CPU is mounted.
- the level determination unit 111 determines whether the level stored in the storage unit 12 is the first level or the second level (step S101), and determines that the level is the first level (step S101: Yes). When the first mode is selected (step S102) and the second level is determined (step S101: No), the second mode is selected (step S103).
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing the operation of the information processing apparatus when executing the first mode.
- the job determination unit 113 determines whether there is one or more incomplete jobs (step S201).
- job simply means a job other than IPFAX communication, such as a print job, an optical character recognition (OCR) job, and the like.
- step S201 If the job determination unit 113 determines that there is one or more incomplete jobs (step S201: Yes), the job execution unit 114 stops all the one or more incomplete jobs (step S202). “Cancel” of a job means that a job being executed is interrupted and execution of an unstarted job is not started.
- the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 determines whether another IPFAX communication execution command has been received prior to the current IPFAX communication execution command. (Step S203).
- the FAX communication unit 112 continues execution of another IPFAX communication when it is determined that the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 has received another IPFAX communication execution command prior to the current IPFAX communication execution command (step S203: Yes). (Step S204). When the FAX communication unit 112 completes the execution of another IPFAX communication, the FAX communication unit 112 starts executing the current IPFAX communication (step S205).
- the job execution unit 114 resumes the execution of one or more incomplete jobs when the FAX communication unit 112 completes the current IPFAX communication (step S206).
- step S203 determines that the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 has not received another IPFAX communication execution command prior to the current IPFAX communication execution command (step S203: No)
- step S205 the FAX communication unit 112 immediately Execution of IPFAX communication is started.
- the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 determines that there is no one or more incomplete jobs (step S201: No), the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 determines another IPFAX communication before the current IPFAX communication execution command. It is determined whether or not an execution command has been accepted (step S207).
- the FAX communication unit 112 continues to execute another IPFAX communication. (Step S208). When the FAX communication unit 112 completes execution of another IPFAX communication, the FAX communication unit 112 starts executing the current IPFAX communication (step S209).
- step S207: No if the FAX communication unit 112 determines that the IPFAX communication determination unit 115 has not received another IPFAX communication execution command prior to the current IPFAX communication execution command (step S207: No), the FAX communication unit 112 immediately Execution of IPFAX communication is started (step S209).
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing the operation of the information processing apparatus when executing the second mode.
- the FAX communication unit 112 When the FAX communication unit 112 receives an execution instruction for IPFAX communication, the FAX communication unit 112 starts IPFAX communication regardless of whether there is a job being executed.
- the FAX communication unit 112 tries to detect a FAX tone signal for a specific time (for example, 15 seconds) (step S301). Specifically, the job determination unit 113 attempts to detect a CNG signal when receiving an IPFAX and detect a CED signal when transmitting an IPFAX.
- the job determination unit 113 determines whether there is one or more incomplete jobs (jobs other than IPFAX communication) (Ste S302).
- the priority update unit 116 sets the priority setting value of the IPFAX thread stored in the storage unit 12, The value is updated (incremented) by one more than the number (step S303).
- FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating an example of the mode in which the information processing apparatus executes IPFAX communication and the set value and upper limit value of the IPFAX thread priority stored in the storage unit.
- the setting value and the upper limit value of the IPFAX thread priority are also stored.
- the “IPFAX thread priority” is a thread priority of the CPU for detecting a FAX tone signal in the second mode.
- the set value and the upper limit value of the IPFAX thread priority are values registered in the storage unit 12 by the worker before shipping the information processing apparatus 10. For example, the setting value and the upper limit value of the IPFAX thread priority are 0 (initial value) and 5 respectively.
- the mode switching unit 117 determines whether or not the incremented setting value is equal to the upper limit value (step S304). Specifically, the mode switching unit 117 reads the setting value and the upper limit value of the priority of the IPFAX thread stored in the storage unit 12 and compares them. The mode switching unit 117 switches the second mode to the first mode when the setting value of the priority level of the IPFAX thread reaches the upper limit (step S304: Yes). Specifically, the mode switching unit 117 rewrites the level of the mode in which the CPU executes IPFAX communication stored in the storage unit 12 to the first level. Then, the information processing apparatus 10 performs IPFAX communication in the first mode (step S305).
- the priority update unit 116 resets the priority setting value of the IPFAX thread when a specific condition is satisfied.
- the specific condition is one specific condition when the IPFAX thread priority setting value reaches the upper limit, when IPFAX communication is started, and when IPFAX communication is completed.
- step S301: No when the FAX communication unit 112 succeeds in detecting the FAX tone signal (step S301: No), the FAX communication unit 112 starts executing IPFAX communication (step S306). Further, when the FAX communication unit 112 succeeds in detecting the FAX tone signal (step S301: No), the priority update unit 116 resets the setting value of the priority of the IPFAX thread when a specific condition is satisfied.
- the specific condition is one specific condition when the FAX communication unit 112 succeeds in detecting the FAX tone signal, when IPFAX communication is started and when IPFAX communication is completed. If the job determination unit 113 determines that there is no one or more incomplete jobs (step S302: No), the information processing apparatus 10 shifts the processing to step S301.
- step S301 step S301: Yes
- step S302 step S302: No
- the information processing apparatus When performing IPFAX communication in a network environment connected to the CISCO gateway, the information processing apparatus first makes SIP connection with audio media and transfers FAX tone (CNG / CED signal) data of digital audio data. This is a necessary operation because the CISCO gateway communicates IPFAX communication according to T.38 as an analog G3 FAX of the PSTN line. Similarly, in the IPFAX of the deemed voice system instead of the T.38 system, the information processing apparatus performs voice communication processing on the CNG / CED signal by software processing (soft modem) and detects FAX tone. In these two methods, since the voice communication process including the FAX tone detection is software-processed, the real-time property may be impaired depending on the state of CPU use. Therefore, it is desirable to enable real-time audio processing when detecting a FAX tone in IPFAX communication even when the CPU load is high, such as during printer processing such as printer printing.
- FAX tone CNG / CED signal
- the information processing apparatus 10 upon receiving an IPFAX communication execution command, cancels an incomplete job and then preferentially executes IPFAX communication. (First mode). This makes it possible to occupy the CPU for detecting the FAX tone signal. Therefore, even when the CPU load is high, the voice data processing of the FAX tone signal can be executed in real time. According to this embodiment, the reliability of IPFAX communication is increased even when the CPU has relatively low performance.
- the information processing apparatus 10 executes an uncompleted job and IPFAX communication in parallel and fails to detect a FAX tone signal. Gradually increase (increment) the setting value of the priority of the IPFAX thread (second mode). As a result, IPFAX communication can be executed with a minimum CPU usage rate.
- the information processing apparatus 10 sets the second mode to the first mode. Switch to and execute. As a result, even when the CPU is occupied by another job and the CPU cannot detect the FAX tone signal, the unfinished job can be canceled and the CPU can preferentially execute the IPFAX communication (first operation). 1 mode). Therefore, the voice data processing of the FAX tone signal can be executed in real time even when the CPU load is high.
- the first level or the second level indicating the mode in which the CPU executes the IPFAX communication is stored in the storage unit 12 in advance.

FAX通信部112は、最初に図示しないゲートウェイとSIP(Session Initiation Protocol)によるセッションを確立する。
