Definitions
- the present invention relates to improvement of glass plate manufacturing technology.
- a method using a downdraw method represented by an overflow downdraw method, a slot downdraw method, a redraw method, or a method using a float method has been widely adopted. .
- the following is mentioned as an example of the manufacturing process of the glass plate using these methods.
- a long glass ribbon is continuously formed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
- the side end portions (both end portions in the width direction) on both sides of the glass ribbon are generally thicker than the center portion in the width direction of the glass ribbon.
- the portions where the thicknesses of the side end portions on both sides of the glass ribbon are relatively large may be referred to as ear portions.
- the glass ribbon is cut in the width direction for each predetermined length, and a glass original plate that is a base of the glass plate is cut out from the glass ribbon (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
- a glass original plate that is a base of the glass plate is cut out from the glass ribbon (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
- a glass plate that finally becomes a product is manufactured by performing various processes such as polishing and washing on the cut product portion.
- the glass ribbon is formed in a vertical posture (for example, a vertical posture). Therefore, from the viewpoint of space saving, etc., when cutting the glass original plate from the vertical glass ribbon, transporting the cut glass original plate in the vertical posture, and removing the non-product part of the glass original plate on the conveyance path There is.
- the above-mentioned problem is not limited to the case of using the down draw method, and even when the float method is used, it can occur in the same way when the glass original plate in the vertical posture is accompanied. .
- This invention makes it a subject to prevent reliably that a glass original plate cracks during conveyance, even when it is a case where conveyance of the glass original plate of a vertical attitude
