Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a building comprising at least one storey floor and an outside wall adjacent to the storey floor, wherein the storey floor comprises a floor part which is provided internally with a floor reinforcement extending transversely of the outside wall, and wherein a freely protruding outside wall element connected fixedly to the building is provided on the outside wall.
  • the outside wall element here comprises a balcony slab connected via a set of tensioning rods to an outside wall/floor.
  • the concrete slab comprises at the intended location transversely of the outside wall a number of oversized through-bores for receiving the tensioning rods therein.
  • the tensioning rods are inserted on site into the bores and are screwed with their opposite end into threaded holes of a fixing body which has been anchored at this location in the outside wall/floor. By thus tightening the tensioning rods a firm clearance-free connection can be realized.
  • Spacers can be provided between the balcony slab and the outside wall as cold bridge interruption. Any space eventually still remaining between the balcony slab and the outside wall is finally filled with quick-setting mortar.
  • a drawback of this known assembly of a building with a freely protruding outside wall element is that the outside wall element is relatively heavy and has to be supported, in this case carried by a crane, during the whole of the assembly. Arranging and later removal of outriggers for support purposes takes time and thereby delays completion of the work, while a crane which carries the balcony slab for this purpose during the whole completion period is not available elsewhere.
  • the relatively great dead weight of the known outside wall element moreover requires a relatively heavy suspension here.

Description

Building and outside wall element
The present invention relates to a building comprising at least one storey floor and an outside wall adjacent to the storey floor, wherein the storey floor comprises a floor part which is provided internally with a floor reinforcement extending transversely of the outside wall, and wherein a freely protruding outside wall element connected fixedly to the building is provided on the outside wall.
Such a building with a freely protruding outside wall element is known from the
Netherlands patent no. 101 1662. The outside wall element here comprises a balcony slab connected via a set of tensioning rods to an outside wall/floor. For this purpose the concrete slab comprises at the intended location transversely of the outside wall a number of oversized through-bores for receiving the tensioning rods therein. The tensioning rods are inserted on site into the bores and are screwed with their opposite end into threaded holes of a fixing body which has been anchored at this location in the outside wall/floor. By thus tightening the tensioning rods a firm clearance-free connection can be realized. Spacers can be provided between the balcony slab and the outside wall as cold bridge interruption. Any space eventually still remaining between the balcony slab and the outside wall is finally filled with quick-setting mortar.
A drawback of this known assembly of a building with a freely protruding outside wall element is that the outside wall element is relatively heavy and has to be supported, in this case carried by a crane, during the whole of the assembly. Arranging and later removal of outriggers for support purposes takes time and thereby delays completion of the work, while a crane which carries the balcony slab for this purpose during the whole completion period is not available elsewhere. The relatively great dead weight of the known outside wall element moreover requires a relatively heavy suspension here.
The present invention has for its object, among others, to provide a building with an outside wall element which can be arranged in a more practical manner at a later stage, i.e. after the storey floor and outside wall have been realized.
In order to achieve the stated object a building of the type described in the preamble has the feature according to the invention that the outside wall element comprises at least one elongate console body extending transversely of the outside wall, that the at least one console body lies in line with the floor reinforcement and is operatively coupled thereto, and that the outside wall element is supported by the at least one console body. It has been found that one or several such console bodies lying in the line of the floor reinforcement and coupled fixedly thereto will suffice as self-supporting construction for an outside wall element, such as for instance a gallery or a balcony. The outside wall element does not otherwise require any supporting parts and can thereby remain relatively light in weight, this contributing toward a relatively limited freely suspended dead weight of the outside wall element as a whole.
In a preferred embodiment the building according to the invention is characterized in that the at least one console body is connected at least substantially linearly to the floor reinforcement of the floor part via a coupling element, which coupling element comprises on a first side first connecting means for an operative connection to the floor reinforcement and is provided on an opposite second side with second connecting means for an operative connection to the console body. The outside wall element and the storey floor are mutually connected here via one or more of such coupling elements. The coupling elements are here adapted to this function as connecting link and comprise for this purpose connecting means on either side for an operative co-axial connection to respectively the console body and the floor reinforcement of the storey floor. In order to avoid a cold bridge between the outside wall element and the storey floor a preferred embodiment of the building has the feature here that the coupling element comprises a thermally insulating core which forms a cold bridge interruption between the floor part and the console body. A cold side outside the outside wall and a relatively warm side inside the outside wall of the building are thus substantially thermally insulated from each other, this being highly advantageous not only in respect of climate management but also in respect of moisture control.
The coupling elements can be arranged on site together with the outside wall element and be cast in with the storey floor. For this purpose a particular embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that the first connecting means comprise an anchoring construction which is connected on the first side of the coupling element to the floor reinforcement, and in particular is interlaced therewith. Coupling the anchoring construction of the coupling element to that of the floor thus creates a continuous anchoring line which is cast in on site. This produces a firm connection between the coupling element and the floor reinforcement which can be placed to the fullest extent under strain of tension. A tensile force on the coupling element is thus transmitted in one line in the floor reinforcement, whereby an anchoring is obtained which can be particularly heavily loaded.
It is also possible to arrange the outside wall element only after the storey floor has been cast and has cured, and in particular following completion of the building. A preferred embodiment of the building according to the invention has for this purpose the feature that the second connecting means comprise a first coupling member and a second coupling member which are able and configured, once brought together, to co-act in order to bring about a bearing connection between the console body and the floor part, wherein the first coupling member extends from the coupling element and the console body comprises a coupling device from which the second coupling member extends, and that connecting means are provided between the coupling element and the console body which are able and configured to bring about a firm, permanent connection therebetween. The storey floor and the outside wall element are thus both provided with coupling members which can co-act with each other in order to provide a bearing connection. The coupling members extend here from respectively the storey floor and the outside wall element and can be brought together only later, after the storey floor or even the whole building has been realized, in order to already bring about a temporary bearing connection. A support or crane is then no longer necessary and a crane optionally utilized for arranging purposes can be used for a subsequent outside wall element or otherwise removed. The outside wall element is in that case already connected in supporting manner to the building by the interposing and mutual co-action of the two coupling members. The initial, already bearing connection allows a more permanent connection to then be realized. It is meanwhile already possible to walk on the outside wall element. What is important is that from both coupling members to the side remote from their connection a coaxial, i.e. linear operative connection is present to the floor reinforcement on the one hand and the console body on the other which both extend transversely of the outside wall. Once it has been tensioned, the connection between the two parts of the construction will hereby be fully incorporated into a continuous tensile loading of the reinforcement and the console body, whereby an exceptionally strong and reliable connection is realized.
Although the temporary connection between the coupling members can be formed in diverse ways, a particular embodiment of the building according to the invention is found to be particularly practical which is characterized in that the first coupling member and the second coupling member, once brought together, engage in each other, and in particular hook into each other. The engaging or hooking of the two coupling members into each other requires little skill from a crane driver and can thereby be performed without much extra training or supervision.
A further particular embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that the first coupling member comprises a first bracket which extends from the coupling element, and the second coupling element has an at least substantially complementary second bracket which extends from the coupling device, which bracket bodies, once brought together, hook into each other. The bracket of the coupling element is oriented upward here and that of the coupling device downward so that the outside wall element with the bracket(s) provided thereon drops into the bracket(s) of the building by being lowered a little, after which a bearing connection is already provided therewith. A similar configuration and anchoring is advantageously provided on the side of the outside wall element. A further particular embodiment of the building has for this purpose the feature that the at least one console body comprises a concrete element in which a console reinforcement extends axially, and that the console reinforcement of each console body is coupled operatively to the floor reinforcement. Making use of such a console body of concrete with a console reinforcement therein a further embodiment of the building, wherein the connection between the outside wall element and the storey floor is brought about via one or more coupling elements, has the feature that the second connecting means comprise an anchoring construction which is connected on the second side of the coupling element to the console reinforcement, and is particularly interlaced therewith.
Coupling elements can here also be applied from which extend coupling members which can themselves already form a bearing connection. Such an embodiment of the building then advantageously has the feature that on a side remote from the second coupling member the coupling device comprises the anchoring construction which is coupled to the console reinforcement, and is particularly interlaced therewith.
An exceptionally strong permanent connection can be obtained with a further particular embodiment of the building according to the invention which is characterized in that the console reinforcement comprises an elongate basket element extending substantially transversely of the outside wall, wherein the coupling device is connected to an end of the basket element of the console reinforcement. Because the floor reinforcement will be placed under strain of tension mainly transversely of the outside wall by the outside wall element once it has been placed, such elongate reinforcing baskets, because of their shape and orientation, will provide an ideal anchoring base therefor.
A similar absorption of forces is achieved in respect of the outside wall element in a further particular embodiment of the building, this embodiment being characterized in that the floor reinforcement comprises at least one elongate basket element which extends substantially transversely of the outside wall, that the coupling element is coupled to an end of the basket element of the floor reinforcement and that the basket element of the console reinforcement lies at least substantially in line with the basket element of the floor reinforcement. Particularly such a linear disposition of the basket reinforcements of respectively the building and the outside wall element provides an ideal accommodation of the play of forces emanating from the eventually freely protruding outside wall element. In the case of an outside wall element such as a balcony (floor), elevated walkway or gallery the mutual connection is realized according to the invention with a number of laterally spatially separated couplings between respective coupling devices. These are distributed here along a length of the outside wall element. In order to ensure that the positions of the coupling elements finally correspond more or less exactly to these fixed positions of the coupling devices a further preferred embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that the floor reinforcement comprises a number of basket elements and the outside wall element comprises a number of laterally spatially separated console bodies, each with a basket element, in line with a basket element of the floor reinforcement, and that the basket elements of the floor reinforcement, at least at the position of the coupling elements coupled thereto, are mutually fixed in an auxiliary device at a relative pitch corresponding to a relative pitch of the console reinforcements in the console bodies. The coupling elements and the coupling device corresponding thereto which extend from an end of respective basket reinforcements are thus finally aligned correctly relative to each other. For the auxiliary device an edging board or the like is advantageously applied as permanent formwork part for the storey floor.
In a further preferred embodiment the building according to the invention is characterized in that the coupling device comprises a coupling plate on the console body from which an anchoring construction extends on the one hand and the second coupling member on the other, and that the connecting means comprise at least one tensioning rod which extends from the coupling element and which is provided at least on a distal end with a screw thread with which the at least one tensioning rod is received in a bore corresponding thereto in the coupling plate. The tensile load between the console body and the storey floor is absorbed by the at least one tensioning rod. This is received with the threaded end behind the coupling plate and can be tightened and tensioned with a appropriate nut to form a firm permanent connection, while the coupling members meanwhile already provide a bearing temporary connection. A further embodiment of the building according to the invention is advantageously characterized here in that the bore corresponding to the tensioning rod takes an oversized form. The oversize dimensioning of the at least one bore for receiving the tensioning rods provides clearance which allows the coupling members to be brought into mutual co-action, for instance by being hooked together.
A further preferred embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that the outside wall comprises a cavity wall with an inner leaf and an outer leaf separated from each other by a cavity, that the coupling element lies behind the outer leaf and that the outer leaf comprises a recess at the position of the coupling element through which the coupling element is accessible. The coupling element thus lies wholly within the outer leaf of the outside wall so that the outer leaf can be wholly covered with brickwork or otherwise finished. By providing recesses therein at the appropriate location the coupling elements remain accessible with a coupling member thereon in each case. Such a construction method allows the outside wall element to be arranged only after the building has been otherwise fully completed. From a logistic viewpoint this is a significant advantage in new building of homes, apartments and other buildings.
Although the coupling members already realize a bearing connection between the outside wall element and the building, under some conditions this connection can possibly be broken as easily as it has been effected due to an incorrect or unforeseen load. In order to avoid this risk, particularly in cases where the outside wall element will be walked on once the temporary connection is present, but not yet the permanent one, a further particular embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that locking means are provided between the coupling element and the coupling device which are able and configured to bring about at least a temporary locking of the bearing connection between the coupling members. The locking means here secure the temporary connection brought about between the coupling members for at least as long as the permanent connection by means of more permanent connecting means is not yet available. It will hereby nevertheless be possible to walk safely on the outside wall element in this intermediate phase. Although the invention can be applied for the attachment of outside wall elements of diverse nature and size, a further particular embodiment according to the invention has the feature that the outside wall element comprises a freely protruding balcony floor. This is because the invention is highly suitable as solution for providing a freely protruding balcony, or freely protruding gallery, on an outside wall, wherein the outside wall element provides for at least the bearing construction of the balcony or gallery floor.
In a further preferred embodiment the building according to the invention is characterized here in that the balcony floor comprises a hollow balcony body with a bottom slab and one or more console bodies extending in a width direction therefrom, wherein on a periphery of the bottom slab a number of standing wall parts bound a body cavity of the balcony body and wherein the balcony body comprises on an upper side a releasable cover slab which supports on the one or more console bodies. Owing to the releasable cover slab in combination with the hollow balcony body the console bodies remain accessible, and thereby also the connecting means attached thereto. A fully concealed assembly is hereby possible by means of the connecting means, which nevertheless remain accessible for maintenance and inspection.
A further preferred embodiment of the building according to the invention advantageously has the feature that the cover slab maintains a free clearance from the wall parts. This free clearance between the cover slab and the edge provides a gap through which (rain)water can flow away. The cover slab advantageously provides for this purpose a certain slope toward the edges. The cover slab hereby retains a completely dry surface, while a provision can be made in the balcony body for a further drainage of the rainwater.
A further embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature in this respect that the bottom slab is provided with a rainwater discharge and has a slope leading to the rainwater discharge. For the purpose of an open flow path to the rainwater discharge a further particular embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature here that at least one of the console bodies is provided adjacently of the bottom slab with at least one water passage in the form of at least one recess provided therein.
In order to further a stable support of the cover slab a further particular embodiment of the building according to the invention has the feature that the cover slab likewise supports on a number of support bodies extending adjacently of the wall parts from the bottom slab. The cover slab is thus supported and carried over the whole area thereof. In order to increase the stability and reduce possible contact sound a further preferred embodiment of the building has the feature here that the console bodies and the support bodies are covered with a resilient top layer, in particular of optionally natural rubber, on which the cover slab rests.
The invention also relates to a balcony as applied in the above described building. The invention relates particularly here to a balcony with a balustrade on a free peripheral side thereof.

The figures are purely schematic and not drawn to scale. Some dimensions in particular may be exaggerated to greater or lesser extent for the sake of clarity. Corresponding parts are designated in the figures with the same reference numeral. Figure 1 shows in a plane section, as figure 2 shows in cross-section, a building 10 with a freely protruding outside wall element 20 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention. Outside wall element 20 is located at the level of a storey floor 15 on an outside wall 1 1 of the building. The outside wall here comprises a cavity wall in the form of a brickwork outer leaf 12 and an inner leaf 13 which define between them a cavity space 14. Cavity 14 is usually filled with a thermally insulating material (not shown) such as mineral wool or glass wool or an insulating foam. Outside wall element 20 comprises in this embodiment a balcony element with a balcony floor 21 manufactured substantially wholly from concrete and with for instance a balustrade 22 of steel, glass or other suitable material resting thereon. Element 20 typically has a width of between 50 and 300 centimetres and a length typically between a metre and many metres. The balcony applied in this embodiment has as such a width of about 250 centimetres and a length of about 350 centimetres. An overall height of the balcony floor amounts in this example to about 360 millimetres.
The balcony floor comprises a hollow balcony body 21 with a bottom 23 which is about 60 millimetres thick and enclosed by standing walls 24 which are about 100 millimetres thick. On a side remote from the bottom the balcony element comprises a releasable cover slab 25 of concrete with a thickness of for instance between 10 and 50 millimetres. Cover plate 25 can optionally be provided here with a surface structure, such as for instance the shown wafer pattern, in order to prevent slipping. Materials other than concrete can also be applied for this purpose, such as for instance natural stone, wood or plastic. The hollow embodiment of the balcony body provides for a considerable weight reduction in the order of 40-50% compared to a solid balcony floor. The balcony shown here has a dead weight (mass) in the order of only 5000 kg.
Along the edge the cover slab 25 supports on a number of support bodies 28 provided for this purpose in the cavity of body 21, see figure 3, and is supported in addition by a number of elongate console bodies 30 extending in a width of the balcony body. In this
embodiment the balcony body comprises three such consoles at a relative centre-to-centre distance of about 900 millimetres. Both the supports and the console bodies are covered on their upper side with a damping layer 29, for instance of rubber, in order to provide a stable support base and prevent contact sound, see also figure 4. By adjusting a height of consoles 30 and support bodies 28, in combination with a chosen thickness of the rubber covering thereof, the cover slab can be adjusted in the height so that an accessibility at least substantially on the same level can always be realized. The releasable cover slab, in combination with the hollow space thereunder, also provides for an invisible anchoring of the outside wall element to the outside wall.
Cover slab 25 maintains on all sides a certain clearance or gap 26 relative to standing walls 24 so that rainwater can flow away therebetween to a rainwater discharge 27 provided at a corner of body 21. The surface of the cover slab can for this purpose advantageously comprise a slight curvature so as to provide a certain slope toward gap 26. Inside the hollow balcony body 21 the bottom 23 likewise advantageously provides a slope to rainwater discharge 27 so that (rain)water received thereon will flow away efficiently. For a clear flow path to water discharge 27 passages or recesses 31 are provided on a bottom side in the console bodies, see also figure 5. Balcony body 20 is thus internally draining.
Although only a single such recess 31 is shown in the drawing per console body, a number thereof can if desired be applied in practice per console body in order to enhance the water management in the balcony body. Rainwater discharge 27 of the outside wall element can be connected to a rainwater discharge 17 provided on the building.
Inside console bodies 38 a console reinforcement 32 extends over substantially a full length in the form of an elongate basket element, see also figure 4. This reinforcement comprises a set of tensioning rods 33 which are tensioned by means of a set of tensioning nuts 34 and a fixing plate 35 and provided for this purpose for this purpose with screw thread on a threaded end. At an outer end the console bodies 30 are equipped with a coupling device 200 which protrudes with an anchoring construction 270 into the console body and is interlaced therewith. In respect of force transmission and absorption coupling device 200 thus lies in line with tensioning rods 33 and the coupling device can be loaded in particularly effective manner. For a temporary bearing connection each coupling device
200 comprises a downward oriented bracket body 230. Serving for a permanent connection is a coupling plate 210 with a set of through-bores 250. Received herein is a set of tensioning rods or threaded ends 140 with tensioning nuts 145 which serve to anchor the outside wall element fixedly and reliably to the outside wall. The building is equipped for this purpose with corresponding coupling elements 100 in or on the storey floor.
The freely protruding outside wall element 20 can be arranged according to the invention during construction of the building as well as thereafter. This latter provides significant advantages from a building logistics viewpoint. Building 10 is equipped for this purpose in storey floor 15 with a number of coupling elements 100, see figure 5, while the outside wall element comprises for each coupling element 100 a coupling device 200
corresponding thereto on a console body 30. Consoles 30 thus form a bearing suspension construction for the outside wall element and are positioned for this purpose in line with an anchoring system arranged in storey floor 15, and thereby in the line of the play of forces in floor 15. This coupling is shown in further detail in figures 4-11.
On a building side a set of coupling elements 100 is provided in the storey floor in preparation for a later anchoring of outside wall element 20. These coupling elements 100, see figure 7, each comprise a main body 110 from which an anchoring construction 120 extends on the one hand and a first coupling member 130 on the other. Main body 110 comprises a steel wall 112, for instance a bent steel sheet, and is filled with a thermally insulating foam core forming a cold bridge interruption. First coupling member 130 comprises a steel bracket body oriented upward for receiving fittingly therein the bracket body 230 of a coupling device 200 of the console body. In addition, coupling element 100 and coupling device 200 are both equipped with connecting means 140,145 for a permanent durable anchoring. The permanent connecting means here comprise a set of tensioning rods 140 with tensioning nut 145. Rods 140 extend proximally through main body 1 10 into the anchoring construction 120 lying behind and are anchored therein. Anchoring construction 120 is interlaced with the floor reinforcement on one side and fixed internally in main body 110 on the other. On one side anchoring 120 leads here in a straight line to a fixing base 135 for first coupling member 130 and on the other side lies in line with the permanent tensioning rods 140. The load on the outside wall element is hereby absorbed optimally and transmitted coaxially in the construction.
Tensioning rods 140 protrude distally and are received in oversize bores 250 of a coupling plate 220 of the coupling device of a console body. Behind this are the tensioning nuts 145 of tensioning rods 140 that tighten via a fitting plate 143 which bridges the oversize bore 250. By tensioning, i.e. tightening, the tensioning nuts 145 a permanent connection can thus be realized between coupling element 100 and coupling device 200 which on the one hand lies in line with the prestressed reinforcement of a console element 30 and on the other lies in line with the floor reinforcement. This connection can hereby be placed under particularly heavy strain of tension and is smoothly incorporated into the play of forces in the floor reinforcement. In the embodiment a bore lies centrally in fitting plate 143 for this purpose. Use can optionally also be made however of a non-central location for the purpose of a better fit and/or accessibility.
It is important that during construction a provision is already made in storey floor 15 wherein the coupling elements with the reinforcement lying behind and later anchoring are positioned at the correct mutual distance before the storey floor is cast. The invention provides for this purpose an auxiliary device in the form of a transition beam 300, see figure 10, with fitting recesses 350 at the locations of coupling elements 100 and basket reinforcements 125. The transition beam comprises a bent steel sheet filled with a foam core as thermal insulator. The transition beam hereby forms a cold bridge interruption along the whole width.
Basket reinforcements 250 and coupling elements 100 are arranged simultaneously with the other reinforcement of floor 15. Transition beam 300 with the recesses is placed here over the coupling devices so that they lie at the correct pitch relative to each other and relative to console elements 30 of the outside wall element. Lying at this position on transition beam 300 is a temporary transition plate 310 for the purpose of fixing the cold bridge interruption to the outside wall element. Figure 10D shows a front view of the whole entity, while figures lOA-C show respective sections at the position of A-C in figure 10. Using screws 320 transition beam 300 is anchored to the fixed building construction. As shown in top view in figure 10E, recesses 350 lie wholly in line with console elements 30 and the coupling devices 200 placed thereon. Figures 11A to 1 IB show in successive stages the manner in which outside wall element 20 can be anchored once the above described anchoring construction has been provided in the respective floor part 15. The outside wall element is positioned with a crane or the like, see figure 1 IB. Both bracket elements 130, 230 are then hooked together, see figure 11C. There is now a bearing connection between the two parts on which it is possible to walk. This connection can if desired be secured using locking means as shown in figure 1 IE. These comprise a hammerhead bolt 450 with locking plate 400.
A permanent connection is finally realized by rotating tensioning nuts 145 on tensioning rods 140 and tightening the whole, see figure 1 ID. Possible gaps and slits can be closed with a suitable seal, such as a mastic, flexible profile or quick-drying mortar. As of the stage of the bearing temporary connection of figure 11C the outside wall element requires no further support or crane.
Shown in figures 12 and 13A,B is a further embodiment of the building with outside wall element according to the invention. At variance with the foregoing exemplary embodiment, a drainage grating 45 is in this case applied connecting to cover slab 25. The drainage grating is for instance of stainless steel and comprises a number of openings which are able to effectively collect and drain water flowing toward the outside wall. Moreover provided in this embodiment are floating console bodies 30 which maintain a distance to the bottom 23. Balcony body 30 hereby comprises a continuous body cavity 48 through which rainwater can flow freely to a rainwater discharge provided in or at the bottom. Figure 12 shows a plane lateral section ,while figure 13A shows a cross-section at the position of a console body 30, and 13B a cross-section between the console bodies 30.
Figure 14 shows a detail of the embodiment of figure 1. Console body 30 carries a coupling plate 220 and comprises together therewith a continuous cavity 250 through which passes a tensioning rod 140. Using fitting plate 143 and tensioning nut 145 the tensioning rod is tensioned, and the construction thereby strengthened. Inside cavity 250 the tensioning rod retains a certain freedom of movement here which adversely affects the stiffness of the construction. In order to remove this freedom of movement the invention provides a moulded body 90 with a flow pipe 95, see figures 15A-15C. Figure 15A here shows a rear view, figure 15B a cross-section and figure 15C a top view. This is a plastic body 90, for instance of polypropylene or polyethylene, which is fixed at the intended location during the manufacture of console body 30, for instance in that it is inserted between the reinforcement of the console body. Flow pipe 95 extends here up to the surface or protrudes a little above the console body, while moulded body 90 will as formwork otherwise define cavity 250 and keep it clear. The further embodiment of the device shown in figure 16 is thus obtained. The flow pipe 95 provides a flow path to cavity 250 so that this latter, once tensioning rods 140 have been arranged and tightened, can be cast in later via filling pipe 95 using a liquid mortar or grout. The tensioning rods are then wholly enveloped by this mortar and embedded therein. A prearranged plug 99 or other barrier avoids the mortar flowing away along this side. A further embodiment of a building with a freely protruding outside wall element according to the invention is shown in figure 17. Other than in the foregoing exemplary embodiment, this outside wall element 20 is already cast on-site together with the storey floor during manufacture thereof and not thereafter. According to the invention the outside wall element 20 comprises a set of console bodies 30 which extend transversely of the outside wall and are coupled coaxially, i.e. in line, with the reinforcement of the floor part via a number of coupling elements 100. The console bodies each comprise a concrete element which is provided internally with an elongate console reinforcement as specified at length for the first exemplary embodiment and, for the sake of clarity, not therefore further shown here in the figure.
For the purpose of this connection each coupling element 100 comprises an anchoring construction 120,150 on either side. The anchoring construction of coupling element 100 directed toward the outside wall is connected to the floor reinforcement, in particular interlaced therewith, while the opposite anchoring construction 150 is fixed in similar manner in the console reinforcement of a console body 30, in particular interlaced therewith. Between the two anchoring constructions the coupling element 100 comprises a foamed core 110 serving as cold bridge interruption.
As shown in the figure, the coupling device thus leads the console reinforcement in a straight line to the floor reinforcement so that the play of forces exerted on console bodies 30 is transmitted in a straight line to the floor reinforcement and transferred thereto.
Shown in figure 1 1 is an alternative embodiment of an auxiliary device with which a series of coupling elements and the floor reinforcement located therebehind are laid and fixed at the specified mutual pitch. The auxiliary device comprises a solid steel body in the form of an L-shaped base profile 400, from which a set of cheeks 410 extend in each case at the appropriate pitch with bores 450 in which tensioning rods 140 can be received. Between cheeks 410 the base profile 400 of the body comprises on a back side a set of screw openings 430 corresponding to the bores in coupling element 100, see also figure 19. On a top side an elongate strip 495 is welded over cheeks 410 for the purpose of a further stiffness and dimensional stability of the whole entity. The shown auxiliary device 400 is pushed on site over tensioning rods 140 of the coupling elements and fixed to the coupling elements by means of screws in bores 430. The storey floor is then cast, wherein auxiliary device 400 forms a permanent formwork and will later serve as dimensionally stable mounting base for an outside wall element 20. Although the invention has been further described on the basis of only several exemplary embodiments, it will be apparent that the invention is by no means limited thereto. On the contrary, many variations and embodiments are still possible within the scope of the invention for a person with ordinary skill in the art. Use is thus made for instance in all shown exemplary embodiments of console bodies in the form of concrete elements with a basket reinforcement therein. Use can also be made instead of steel tubular profiles and optionally of a coaxial assembly of tubular profiles which is telescopically adjustable. The axial tubular cavity will in that case provide space for a tensioning rod which extends from a coupling element and which is tensioned against an outer end of the tube or the tube assembly. The invention generally provides a particularly practical solution for providing a freely protruding outside wall element on an outside wall, wherein a freely suspended mass of the outside wall element can be limited to a significant extent.
