Definitions

  • Apparatus for twisting multifilament threads The invention relates to an apparatus for twisting multifilament threads.
  • two friction- spindle devices are retained in a projecting manner beside one another on a carrier.
  • the friction spindles share a common belt drive, the belt also driving adjacent apparatus of adjacent processing positions.
  • the friction discs of one of the spindle devices are driven at a substantially constant circumferential speed, the thread being guided along an oblique run on their circumferential faces.
  • the friction mechanisms acting between the thread and the circumferential face of the friction disc lead to a transverse force for twisting the thread and to a tensile force for conveying the thread being produced on the thread.
  • the friction spindles of the friction- spindle device are driven in opposite senses of rotation, such that the threads obtain different senses of twist.
  • each of the threads has to be manually threaded into one of the friction- spindle devices at the outset of a process. Since the apparatus are typically arranged in an aligned manner along one longitudinal side of a machine, accessibility and operability from one side have to be made possible. In the known apparatus, the spindle de- vices are offset behind one another, such that piecing is particularly problematic in the case of the rear spindle device. However, a friction- spindle device which is arranged parallel to the operator side can often not be implemented on pre-established machine pitches. In order to produce composite threads within pre-established machine pitches, machine concepts are therefore also known in which a plurality of apparatus having in each case one friction- spindle device are arranged in a row beside one another. However, this can only be implemented in complex machine concepts.
  • a further object of the invention lies in providing a particularly operator- friendly apparatus for twisting multifilament threads.
  • the object according to the invention is achieved in that an upper friction- spindle device is retained on an upper side of the carrier and a lower one of the friction- spindle devices is retained on a lower side of the carrier.
  • the invention is distinguished by a very compact and space- saving arrangement of the friction- spindle devices. In this manner, comparatively tight machine pitches can be implemented in order to twist a multiplicity of multifilament threads in parallel beside one another.
  • the refinement of the invention is preferably executed in which the friction spindles of the friction- spindle devices are symmetrically configured, wherein an offset is provided between the upper friction- spindle device and the lower friction- spindle device for separate guiding of the thread.
  • the threads can be infed in a singularizing manner to the friction- spindle devices.
  • Guiding of threads can be further improved in that the friction- spindles of the upper friction- spindle device, on the protruding ends, are assigned an upper inlet yarn guide for one of the threads and the friction spindles of the lower friction- spindle device, on the carrier, are assigned a lower inlet yarn guide.
  • the friction spindles of the upper friction- spindle device, on the carrier are assigned an upper outlet yarn guide and the friction spindles of the lower friction- spindle device, on the protruding end, are assigned a lower outlet yarn guide.
  • the friction spindles of the upper friction- spindle device and the friction spindles of the lower friction- spindle device have a common drive. In this manner, all friction spindles can be driven in the same sense of rotation.

  • twist may be imparted in various manners.
