 本発明は、例えば加熱対象物を加熱する化学蓄熱装置に関するものである。
 従来の化学蓄熱装置としては、例えば特許文献1に記載されている装置が知られている。特許文献1に記載の化学蓄熱装置は、アンモニア(NH)と化学反応して熱を発生させる蓄熱材を有し、酸化触媒を加熱する反応器と、この反応器とNH供給管を介して接続され、NHを貯蔵する貯蔵器とを備えている。貯蔵器から反応器にNHが供給されると、NHと蓄熱材とが化学反応して蓄熱材から熱が発生し、その熱により酸化触媒が加熱される。

 しかしながら、上記従来技術においては、蓄熱材自体の熱伝導率が低いため、蓄熱材から発生した熱が酸化触媒(加熱対象物)に伝わりにくい。このため、蓄熱材の発熱時において酸化触媒が十分に加熱されないという問題があった。
 そこで、本技術分野においては、反応器の熱伝導性を向上させることにより、反応器から加熱対象物に効率良く熱を伝えることができる化学蓄熱装置が要請されている。

 このような化学蓄熱装置においては、反応器は、加熱対象物の周囲に配置され、反応媒体と化学反応して熱を発生すると共に蓄熱して反応媒体を脱離する蓄熱材からなる蓄熱材部と蓄熱材よりも熱伝導率が高い伝熱部材とを含むプレス成型体を有している。そして、伝熱部材は、蓄熱材部から発生した熱を加熱対象物に向けて伝えるためのシート状の本体部を有している。このような構成とすることで、反応媒体と蓄熱材との化学反応により蓄熱材部から発生した熱が伝熱部材の本体部を介して加熱対象物に伝わるようになる。従って、プレス成型体の熱伝導率が高くなる。また、蓄熱材部と伝熱部材とを含むプレス成型体は、プレス成型加工によって作製される。このとき、シート状の本体部の主面は、プレス成型体のプレス方向に対して垂直な面となっている。このため、プレス成型体の作製時に、蓄熱材部が伝熱部材と共にプレスされる際には、伝熱部材の本体部が潰れにくい。従って、プレス成型体の高い熱伝導率を確保することができる。以上により、反応器の熱伝導性が向上するため、反応器から加熱対象物に効率良く熱を伝えることができる。
 伝熱部材は、本体部における加熱対象物側の端部において本体部に対して屈曲するように設けられた補助部を更に有していてもよい。このような構成では、伝熱部材において加熱対象物に熱を伝える領域の面積が大きくなるため、反応器から加熱対象物に更に効率良く熱を伝えることができる。
 プレス成型体は、蓄熱材部と伝熱部材とが複数ずつ交互に積層されてなっていてもよい。このように伝熱部材を複数設けることにより、蓄熱材部から発生した熱が伝熱部材に到達しやすくなるため、反応器から加熱対象物に更に効率良く熱を伝えることができる。
 本体部には、反応媒体が通るための複数の貫通孔が形成されていてもよい。このような構成では、反応器の蓄熱材部内に導入された反応媒体が本体部の各貫通孔を通って蓄熱材部内を移動するため、蓄熱材部の大部分に反応媒体を迅速に供給することができる。
 この化学蓄熱装置によれば、反応器の熱伝導性を向上させることにより、反応器から加熱対象物に効率良く熱を伝えることができる。
図1は、一実施形態に係る化学蓄熱装置を備えた排気浄化システムを示す概略構成図である。 図2は、図1に示した熱交換器及び反応器を含む構成の正面図である。 図3は、図2に示したプレス成型体の斜視図である。 図4は、図3に示した伝熱部材の斜視図である。 図5は、図2に示したプレス成型体をプレス成型加工により作製する方法を示す断面図である。 図6は、伝熱部材がプレス方向に沿って立った構造を有するプレス成型体の理想例及び実際例を示す断面図である。
 以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。なお、図面において、同一または同等の要素には同じ符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
 図1は、一実施形態に係る化学蓄熱装置を備えた排気浄化システムを示す概略構成図である。同図において、排気浄化システム1は、車両のディーゼルエンジン2(以下、単にエンジン2という)の排気系に設けられ、エンジン2から排出される排気ガス中に含まれる有害物質(環境汚染物質)を浄化するシステムである。
 排気浄化システム1は、エンジン2と接続された排気管3内に設けられた熱交換器4、ディーゼル酸化触媒(DOC:DieselOxidation Catalyst)5、ディーゼル排気微粒子除去フィルタ(DPF:Diesel Particulate Filter)6、選択還元触媒(SCR:Selective Catalytic Reduction)7及びアンモニアスリップ触媒(ASC:Ammonia Slip Catalyst)8を備えている。これらの熱交換器4、DOC5、DPF6、SCR7及びASC8は、排気上流側から排気下流側に向けて順に配置されている。
 熱交換器4は、排気管3内を流れる排気ガスと後述する反応器11との間で熱交換を行う。熱交換器4は、図2に示すように、外筒4aと、この外筒4aの内部に配置された熱交換部材4bとを備えている。熱交換部材4bは、ハニカム構造を有している。なお、熱交換部材4bとしては、特にハニカム構造には限られず、周知の熱交換構造が利用可能である。この実施形態においては、熱交換器4が加熱対象物である。なお、熱交換器4は、外筒4aを備えなくともよい。
 DOC5は、排気ガス中に含まれるHC及びCO等を酸化して浄化する触媒である。DPF6は、排気ガス中に含まれる粒子状物質(PM:Particulate Matter)を捕集して取り除くフィルタである。SCR7は、尿素またはアンモニア(NH)によって、排気ガス中に含まれるNOxを還元して浄化する触媒である。ASC8は、SCR7をすり抜けたNHを酸化する触媒である。
 また、排気浄化システム1は、本実施形態の化学蓄熱装置10を備えている。化学蓄熱装置10は、通常は排気ガスの熱(排熱)を蓄えておき、必要なときに排熱を使用することにより、エネルギーレスで加熱対象物である熱交換器4を加熱する装置である。
 化学蓄熱装置10は、図1及び図2に示すように、排気管3の外側に配置された反応器11と、この反応器11とNH供給管12を介して反応媒体であるNHを流通可能に接続された吸着器13とを備えている。NH供給管12には、反応器11と吸着器13との間の流路を開閉させるバルブ14が設けられている。なお、反応器11は、加熱対象物としての熱交換器4の周囲に配置されるように、排気管3の熱交換器4が設けられた部分に対応する位置に設けられる。
 吸着器13は、NHの物理吸着による保持及び脱離が可能な吸着材13aを含んでいる。吸着材13aとしては、活性炭、カーボンブラック、メソポーラスカーボン、ナノカーボン及びゼオライト等の何れかが用いられる。吸着器13は、NHを吸着材13aに物理吸着させることで、NHを貯蔵する貯蔵器である。
 反応器11は、図2に示すように、排気管3を取り囲むように設けられたリング状のケース15と、排気管3の外周面に接触するようにケース15内に収容されたプレス成型体16とを有している。ケース15には、NH供給管12が連結されている。ケース15とプレス成型体16との間には、特に図示はしないが、NH供給管12より供給されたNHをプレス成型体16に全周にわたって導くための多孔体シートが配置されている。
 プレス成型体16は、複数の断面湾曲型のプレス成型体16Aを繋ぎ合わせることにより、リング状となっている。プレス成型体16Aは、図3に示すように、NH3と化学反応して熱交換器4を加熱するための熱を発生させると共に、排熱を受けて蓄熱してNHを脱離させるペレット状の蓄熱材からなる蓄熱材部17と、この蓄熱材よりも熱伝導率が高いシート状の断面L字型の伝熱部材18とを含んでいる。プレス成型体16A(プレス成型体16)は、そのような蓄熱材部17及び伝熱部材18が複数ずつ交互に積層されてなる構造を有している。
 蓄熱材としては、ハロゲン化物のMXaという組成を持つ材料が用いられる。ここで、Mは、Mg、Ca、Sr等のアルカリ土類金属、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn等の遷移金属である。Xは、Cl、Br、I等である。aは、2~3である。伝熱部材18は、アルミニウム等の金属またはグラファイトシート等といった熱伝導率が高い材料で形成されている。
 伝熱部材18は、図3及び図4に示すように、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱を熱交換器4に向けて伝えるための本体部19と、この本体部19における内側(熱交換器4側)の端部において本体部19に対して直角に屈曲するように設けられた補助部20とから構成されている。補助部20の内側の面は、排気管3の外周面に接触する。
 本体部19は、プレス成型体16Aの外周面(熱交換器4の反対側の面)からプレス成型体16Aの内周面(熱交換器4側の面)まで延びている。本体部19の主面(表面及び裏面)19aは、プレス成型体16Aのプレス方向に対して垂直な面となっている。プレス成型体16Aのプレス方向は、プレス成型加工によりプレス成型体16Aを作製する際(後述)に蓄熱材をプレスする方向である。
 本体部19には、NH供給管12より蓄熱材部17の中に導入されたNHを通すための複数の貫通孔21が形成されている。なお、貫通孔21の形状及び寸法等は、特に限定されない。
 このような伝熱部材18は、例えば1枚の湾曲状原板を用意し、その湾曲状原板における本体部19となる領域に複数の貫通孔21を形成した後に、補助部20となる領域を直角に折り曲げることにより、作製される。また、本体部19及び補助部20を別部材で構成し、複数の貫通孔21が形成された本体部19に補助部20を接合することで、伝熱部材18を作製しても良い。この場合、補助部20は必ずしもシート状でなくてもよい。
 プレス成型体16Aは、金型を用いたプレス成型加工によって作製される。具体的には、図5に示すように、凹状のキャビティ22aを有する下金型22と、キャビティ22aに挿入される上金型23とを用意する。そして、キャビティ22aに伝熱部材18及び粉末状の蓄熱材を順に入れる。このとき、補助部20が下金型22の内側面に接触すると共に補助部20の先端が下金型22の上側を向くように、伝熱部材18をキャビティ22aに配置する。その状態で、キャビティ22aに上金型23をセットし、上金型23により蓄熱材を伝熱部材18と同時にプレスすることで、蓄熱材を押し固める。これにより、伝熱部材18とペレット状の蓄熱材部17とが交互に積層されてなるプレス成型体16Aが得られる。
 このような化学蓄熱装置10において、エンジン2から排出される排気ガスの温度が低いときは、バルブ14を開くことで、吸着器13から反応器11にNHがNH供給管12を介して供給され、反応器11の蓄熱材部17を形成する蓄熱材(例えばMgCl2)とNHとが化学反応して化学吸着(配位結合)し、蓄熱材部17から熱が発生する。つまり、下記の反応式(A)における左辺から右辺への反応(発熱反応)が起こる。そして、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱が排気管3を介して熱交換器4に伝わる。このとき、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱が伝熱部材18に到達し、その熱が伝熱部材18を通って排気管3及び熱交換器4に伝わる。これにより、熱交換器4が加熱され、これに伴って熱交換器4を流れる排気ガスが加熱される。

 一方、エンジン2から排出される排気ガスの温度が高くなると、排気ガスの熱(排熱)が排気管3を介して反応器11の蓄熱材部17に与えられることで、蓄熱材部17を形成する蓄熱材とNHとが分離する。つまり、上記の反応式(A)における右辺から左辺への反応(再生反応)が起こる。このとき、排熱が伝熱部材18を通って蓄熱材部17に伝わる。そして、蓄熱材から脱離したNHは、NH供給管12を介して吸着器13に戻り、吸着器13の吸着材13aに物理吸着(回収)される。
 以上のように本実施形態にあっては、反応器11は、蓄熱材からなる蓄熱材部17と蓄熱材よりも熱伝導率が高い伝熱部材18とを含むプレス成型体16を有する。また、伝熱部材18は、蓄熱材とNHとの化学反応により発生した熱をプレス成型体16の内側(熱交換器4側)に向けて伝えるための本体部19を有している。これにより、反応器11のプレス成型体16の熱伝導性を高くすることができる。
 ところで、例えば図6(a)に示すように、伝熱部材51をプレス成型体50のプレス方向に沿って立った構造とすることが考えられる。しかし、そのような構造では、以下の不具合が発生する。即ち、金型を用いて粉末状の蓄熱材を伝熱部材51と同時にプレスすると、実際には図6(b)に示すように、伝熱部材51が潰れてしまう。このため、伝熱部材51がプレス成型体50の外周面まで延びない状態となる。従って、蓄熱材部17におけるプレス成型体50の外周面側の領域から発生した熱が伝熱部材51に到達しにくくなり、プレス成型体50の高い熱伝導性を確保することができない。
 これに対し本実施形態では、伝熱部材18の本体部19の主面19aは、プレス成型体16のプレス方向に対して垂直な面となっている。つまり、プレス成型加工によりプレス成型体16Aを作製する際には、本体部19の主面19aが蓄熱材部17と共にプレスされることとなる。これにより、プレス成型加工時に本体部19が潰れることが防止される。なお、伝熱部材18の補助部20は、プレス成型体16のプレス方向に沿って立っている。しかし、プレス成型加工は、上述したようにキャビティ22aを形成する下金型22の内側面に補助部20が接触した状態で行われる。このため、プレス成型加工時には、補助部20が潰れにくい。
 このようにプレス成型体16Aを作製する際に伝熱部材18が潰れることが抑制されるため、プレス成型体16の高い熱伝導性を確保することができる。例えば、プレス成型体16の有効熱伝導率を例えば40W/m・K程度とすることができる。なお、プレス成型体16に伝熱部材18を設けない場合には、プレス成型体16の有効熱伝導率は例えば1W/m・K以下である。従って、熱出力が高い化学蓄熱装置10を得ることができる。
 これにより、発熱反応時には、反応器11の蓄熱材部17から発生した熱を効率良く熱交換器4に伝えることができる。その結果、熱交換器4を効率良く加熱し、ひいては排気ガスを効率良く加熱することが可能となる。一方、再生反応時には、排気ガスの熱を効率良く蓄熱材部17に伝えることができる。その結果、NHの再生速度を速くすることが可能となる。
 また、伝熱部材18は本体部19に対して屈曲するように設けられた補助部20を有しているので、排気管3に対する伝熱部材18の接触面積が大きくなる。従って、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱を一層効率良く熱交換器4に伝えることができる。
 さらに、プレス成型体16を蓄熱材部17と伝熱部材18とが複数ずつ交互に積層されてなる構造としたので、蓄熱材部17における伝熱部材18から最も離れた位置と伝熱部材18との間の距離が短くなる。従って、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱が伝熱部材18に到達しやすくなるため、蓄熱材部17から発生した熱をより一層効率良く熱交換器4に伝えることができる。
 また、伝熱部材18の本体部19に、NHを通すための複数の貫通孔21を形成したので、NH供給管12より蓄熱材部17内に導入されたNHが各貫通孔21を通って蓄熱材部17内を移動するようになる。従って、蓄熱材部17の大部分にNHを迅速に供給することができる。これにより、蓄熱材部17から効果的に熱を発生させることができる。
 なお、本発明は、上記実施形態に限定されるものでは無い。例えば、上記実施形態では、伝熱部材18の本体部19がプレス成型体16の内周面から外周面まで延びているが、特にその構成には限られず、本体部19はプレス成型体16の外周面まで延びていなくてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では、伝熱部材18が本体部19に対して屈曲するように設けられた補助部20を有しているが、反応器11の蓄熱材部17から発生した熱を熱交換器4に伝えることができるのであれば、そのような補助部20は特に無くてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では、プレス成型体16Aが複数の伝熱部材18を有している構造としたが、反応器11の蓄熱材部17から発生した熱を熱交換器4に伝えることができるのであれば、プレス成型体16Aに含まれる伝熱部材18の数は1つであってもよい。
 さらに、上記実施形態では、伝熱部材18の本体部19に、NHを通すための複数の貫通孔21が形成されているが、蓄熱材部17の大部分にNHを供給することができるのであれば、そのような貫通孔21は特に無くてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では、排気管3の熱交換器4が設けられた部分における排気管3の周囲に反応器11が配置されている。しかし、反応器11の配置箇所としては、特にそれには限られず、熱交換器4の周囲であれば排気管3の内部であってもよい。また、反応器11は熱交換器4の周囲における一部に配置されてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では、排気管3の内部に熱交換器4が1つだけ配置されているが、熱交換器の数としては特に1つには限られず、排気ガスが流れる方向から見て複数の熱交換器が排気管3の内部に並んで配置されていても良い。この場合には、排気管3の内部における各熱交換器の周囲に反応器が一体で設けられることとなる。
 さらに、上記実施形態では、気体の反応媒体であるNHと組成がMXaである蓄熱材とを化学反応させて熱を発生させるようにしたが、反応媒体としては、特にNHには限られず、例えばCOまたはHO等を使用しても良い。反応媒体としてCOを使用する場合、COと化学反応する蓄熱材としては、MgO、CaO、BaO、Ca(OH)、Mg(OH)、Fe(OH)、Fe(OH)、FeO、Fe、Fe等を使用することができる。反応媒体としてHOを使用する場合、HOと化学反応する蓄熱材としては、CaO、MnO、CuO、Al等を使用することができる。
 また、上記実施形態では、化学蓄熱装置10により熱交換器4を加熱しているが、本発明は、ディーゼルエンジン2の排気系に設けられたDOC5等の触媒を加熱するもの、排気管3における熱交換器4またはDOC5等が設けられていない領域を加熱するもの、或いはガソリンエンジンの排気系に設けられた何れかの触媒等を加熱するものにも適用可能である。ディーゼルエンジン2やガソリンエンジンの排気系に設けられた触媒を加熱する化学蓄熱装置10では、触媒が加熱対象物に相当する。また、排気管3における熱交換器4またはDOC5等が設けられていない領域を加熱する化学蓄熱装置10では、排気管3が加熱対象物に相当する。さらに、本発明は、エンジンの排気系以外、例えばオイルの流通系に設けられた配管等を加熱するものにも適用可能である。更に、本発明は、エンジンの排気系以外、例えばエンジンオイル、変速機オイル、冷却水、又は空気等の車両における種々の熱媒体を加熱するものであってもよい。このとき、化学蓄熱装置10の反応器11を熱媒体が流れる熱媒体流路の外周部(外周部の一部又は外周部の全周)に配置して、熱媒体流路そのものを加熱してもよい。この場合、熱媒体流路が加熱対象物となる。また、熱媒体が流れる熱媒体流路内に熱交換器4を配置して、その熱交換器4を加熱してもよい。この場合、熱交換器4が加熱対象物となる。また、蓄熱材を備える反応器11と熱交換フィンなどの熱交換部とを交互に複数個配置した熱交換部一体型の加熱器を構成し、その熱交換部一体型の加熱器を熱媒体が貯蔵されている熱媒体貯蔵部内や熱媒体が流れる熱媒体流路上に配置してもよい。この場合、反応器11に隣接する熱交換フィンなどの熱交換部が加熱対象物となる。

Claims (4)

  1.  加熱対象物を加熱する化学蓄熱装置において、
     前記加熱対象物の周囲に配置され、反応媒体と化学反応して熱を発生すると共に蓄熱して前記反応媒体を脱離する蓄熱材からなる蓄熱材部と前記蓄熱材よりも熱伝導率が高い伝熱部材とを含むプレス成型体を有する反応器と、
     前記反応器と前記反応媒体を流通可能に接続され、前記反応媒体を貯蔵する貯蔵器とを
    備え、
     前記伝熱部材は、前記蓄熱材部から発生した熱を前記加熱対象物に向けて伝えるためのシート状の本体部を有し、
     前記本体部の主面は、前記プレス成型体のプレス方向に対して垂直な面となっている、化学蓄熱装置。
  2.  前記伝熱部材は、前記本体部における前記加熱対象物側の端部において前記本体部に対して屈曲するように設けられた補助部を更に有する、請求項1記載の化学蓄熱装置。
  3.  前記プレス成型体は、前記蓄熱材部と前記伝熱部材とが複数ずつ交互に積層されてなる、請求項1または2記載の化学蓄熱装置。
  4.  前記本体部には、前記反応媒体が通るための複数の貫通孔が形成されている、請求項1~3のいずれか一項記載の化学蓄熱装置。
