本発明は、前述のような課題を考慮してなされたものであり、アンテナ長さ当たりの電波放射量が制御され、アンテナ長さ当たりの電波放射効率が異なる箇所を有している漏れ波アンテナを実現するアンテナ装置、配線基板および電子装置を提供することを、その目的としている。

本発明の実施形態の説明に先立って、本発明の特徴についてその概要をまず説明する。本発明は、アンテナ装置のホスト線路として導波管を用い、該導波管を構成する複数の単位構造ごとにスリットを設けてホスト線路のシリーズ部分にキャパシタンス成分を複数個導入し、かつ、1つのホスト線路中にスリット形状が異なるスリットを少なくとも2個以上有する構造とすることにより、アンテナ長さ当たりの電波放射量が制御され、アンテナ長さ当たりの電波放射効率が異なる部分を有している漏れ波アンテナを実現することを主要な特徴としている。
次に、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第1の実施形態について、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。
まず、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第1の実施形態の構造について、図1ないし図3に基づいて説明する。図1は、本発明の第1の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の斜視図の一例を示す模式図であり、図2は、図1のアンテナ装置の平面図の一例を示す模式図であり、図3は、図1のアンテナ装置の断面図の一例を示す模式図である。
次に、図1ないし図4に示した第1の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の基本的な動作原理について、まず説明する。図1ないし図4に示した第1の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置においては、第1の平面導体101と、第2の平面導体102と、第1の導体接続部103と、第2の導体接続部104とによって、導波管が形成されている。該導波管は、図5に示す等価回路によって記述することができる。ここで、図5は、図1ないし図4に示した第1の実施形態のアンテナ装置における第1の平面導体101と第2の平面導体102と第1の導体接続部103と第2の導体接続部104とにより形成される導波管から開口部105を除いた場合の等価回路を示す回路図である。
次に、第1の実施形態の第1の変形例について説明する。本第1の変形例においては、開口部105の形状が、前述のようなミアンダ形状とは異なり、直線形状によって構成されている。また、直線形状の開口部105は、単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向すなわちy軸方向と直交したx軸方向に形成されている例を示している。なお、本第1の変形例においては、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向に限るものではなく、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向からあらかじめ設定した角度だけ傾斜させて形成するようにしても差し支えない。かくのごとき直線形状の開口部105を有する単位構造106によってアンテナ装置を構成する場合においては、開口部105の長さが異なる少なくとも2種以上の単位構造106を混載して配列することにより、本第1の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置が構成されることになる。
次に、第1の実施形態の第2の変形例について説明する。本第2の変形例においては、開口部105の形状が、図14、図15のような直線形状によって構成されている場合において、調整パラメータとして、チップキャパシタンス1401を開口部105に取り付ける代わりに、導体パッチを開口部105に取り付けることによって、調整可能なキャパシタンス成分を形成する場合について説明する。なお、直線形状の開口部105は、第1の変形例の図14、図15の場合と同様、単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向すなわちy軸方向と直交したx軸方向に形成されている例を示している。ただし、本第2の変形例においても、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向に限るものではなく、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向からあらかじめ設定した角度だけ傾斜させて形成するようにしても差し支えない。
次に、第1の実施形態の第3の変形例について説明する。本第3の変形例においても、開口部105の形状が、図14、図15のような直線形状によって構成されている場合において、第2の変形例の図17の場合と同様、キャパシタンス成分を形成する要素として、導体パッチと第3の導体接続部とを用いる。しかし、本第3の変形例においては、導体パッチの一例である島状導体1601の形状が、図17の場合のような方形平面形状とは異なり、導体パッチ例えば島状導体1601と第3の導体接続部1701とによりオープンスタブを構成している。なお、直線形状の開口部105は、第1の変形例の図14、図15、第2の変形例の図16、図17の場合と同様、単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向すなわちy軸方向と直交したx軸方向に形成されている例を示している。ただし、本第3の変形例においても、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向と直交した方向に限るものではなく、直線形状の開口部105を単位構造106の配列方向からあらかじめ設定した角度だけ傾斜させて形成するようにしても差し支えない。
前述の第1の実施形態のアンテナ装置の説明においては、電磁波の放射に寄与する箇所の開口部105の長さを、配列した単位構造106に応じて変化させることにより、アンテナ長さ当たりの放射効率の制御を可能とする構造について説明してきたが、本発明は、かかる場合に限るものではない。開口部105の形状を別の方法で変化させるようにしても同様の効果を得ることができる可能性も当然ある。
前述の第1の実施形態のアンテナ装置の説明においては、開口部105の電磁波の放射に寄与する開口802が、単位構造106の配列方向すなわちアンテナを構成する導波管の電力伝搬方向であるy軸方向と直交するx軸方向に形成されている場合について説明した。かかる場合には、アンテナ装置から放射される電磁波の偏波については、導波管の電力伝搬方向(y軸方向)の偏波が放射されることになる。本発明に係るアンテナ装置は、かくのごとき場合に限るものではない。例えば、開口部105の形状をミアンダ形状に形成している場合、図19に示すように、開口部105の放射に寄与する開口802が、単位構造106の配列方向すなわちアンテナを構成する導波管の電力伝搬方向、さらに言い換えると、線路長手方向であるy軸方向に対して、あらかじめ設定した角度だけx軸方向に傾いている構成を採用するようにしても良い。
次に、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第2の実施形態について、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。本第2の実施形態においては、ユニフォームな強度分布を有する電磁波を放射することが可能なアンテナ装置の一例を示している。
まず、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第2の実施の形態の構造について、図22に基づいて説明する。図22は、本発明の第2の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の平面図の一例を示す模式図であり、開口部の形状を第1の実施形態の図1ないし図3の場合と同様のミアンダ形状として形成している場合を示している。なお、第2の実施形態として図22に示すアンテナ装置は、前述の第1の実施形態の図1に示したアンテナ装置の変形例であり、前述した第1の実施の形態と同様の構成要素については、図1ないし図3と同一の符号を付して、ここでの重複する説明は省略する。
次に、図22に示した第2の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の基本的な動作原理について説明する。通常の漏れ波アンテナの場合、電磁波が伝送線路内を伝搬するにつれて、電力が次第に空間へと放射されていく。そのため、同一の単位構造が繰り返される通常の左手系右手系複合線路による漏れ波アンテナの場合における電力放射量に関しては、電力入力端付近において電力放射量が大きく、電力出力端付近において電力放射量が小さくなる。その結果、放射される電磁波の指向性パターンは歪んだものになってしまう。
次に、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第3の実施形態について、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。本第3の実施形態においては、ガウス分布に近い強度分布を有する電磁波を放射することが可能なアンテナ装置の一例を示している。
まず、本発明に係るアンテナ装置の第3の実施の形態の構造について、図23に基づいて説明する。図23は、本発明の第3の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の平面図の一例を示す模式図であり、開口部の形状を第1の実施形態の図1ないし図3の場合と同様のミアンダ形状として形成している場合を示している。なお、第3の実施形態として図23に示すアンテナ装置についても、前述の第1の実施形態の図1に示したアンテナ装置の変形例であり、前述した第1の実施の形態と同様の構成要素については、図1ないし図3と同一の符号を付して、ここでの重複する説明を省略する。
次に、図23に示した第3の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置の基本的な動作原理について説明する。図23に示した本第3の実施形態のアンテナ装置においては、電力入力端や電力出力端のアンテナの両端部からアンテナの中央部に進むにつれて、電磁波の放射に寄与する開口802の長さが次第に長くなるように構成されている。したがって、アンテナ長さ当たりの電力放射量をアンテナ中央部付近がピークになるようなガウス分布状に制御することができる。一般に、アレイアンテナの分野においては、ガウス分布(2項分布)にしたがって、各アンテナ素子の入力パワー比を決定すると、サイドローブのない指向性パターンを実現することができることが知られている。図23に例示したような本第3の実施形態の構成により、漏れ波アンテナにおいても、ガウス分布に近い電力放射量分布を有する漏れ波アンテナを実現することが可能となるので、本第3の実施形態におけるアンテナ装置により、サイドローブレベルが低いアンテナ装置を実現することができる。

- 前記第1の導体接続部と前記第2の導体接続部とのいずれか一方もしくは両方が、導体ポスト列から成っていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載のアンテナ装置。
- 電力の入力端側から電力の出力端側に配置された単位構造へと変わるにつれて、各前記単位構造を構成する前記開口部を形成する線素のうち、対向部を有しない線素の長さが、長くなっていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし8のいずれか1項に記載のアンテナ装置。
- アンテナの中央からアンテナ端部側に配置された単位構造へと変わるにつれて、各前記単位構造を構成する前記開口部を形成する線素のうち、対向部を有しない線素の長さが、短くなっていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし8のいずれか1項に記載のアンテナ装置。
