- Patent Document 1 discloses a technique for prohibiting complete engagement of a lockup clutch.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a control device for a lock-up clutch that can be used.
- a lockup clutch control device is a control device that hydraulically controls a lockup clutch provided between an engine mounted on a vehicle and an automatic transmission mechanism, and the vehicle is in a coasting state. Control means for controlling the torque transmission capacity of the lock-up clutch. In addition, the control means includes a coast lockup control that locks the lockup clutch when a predetermined coast lockup condition is satisfied when the vehicle is in a coasting state, and the coast lockup control.
- the torque transmission capacity is decreased to cause the lock-up clutch to slip, and then the torque transmission capacity is increased.
- the torque transmission capacity is And the second capacity temporary reduction control for increasing the torque transmission capacity and returning the lockup clutch to the lockup state again, and in the second capacity temporary reduction control, The torque transmission capacity is lowered with a predetermined torque transmission capacity at which the lockup clutch is not completely released as a lower limit.
- the predetermined torque transmission capacity is preferably a torque capacity corresponding to an input torque input to the lockup clutch when the vehicle is in a coasting state.
- the control unit determines that the accelerator determining unit It is preferable to maintain the torque transmission capacity at the lower limit until it is determined.
- control means gradually increases the torque transmission capacity when the accelerator determination means determines that the accelerator transmission is off while maintaining the torque transmission capacity at the lower limit value.
- the lockup clutch control device of the present invention when the accelerator is turned on for a short time and then turned off during the coast lockup, the predetermined torque transmission capacity at which the lockup clutch is not fully released is set as the lower limit value. Since the torque transmission capacity of the lock-up clutch is reduced, the lock-up clutch is not suddenly engaged and is not completely released, so even immediately after the torque transmission capacity is reduced to the lower limit predetermined torque transmission capacity, The occurrence of engine blow-off can be suppressed by the torque transmission capacity of the lockup clutch, and deterioration of fuel consumption can be suppressed.
- the predetermined torque transmission capacity is a torque capacity corresponding to the input torque input to the lockup clutch when the vehicle is in the coasting state, even after the accelerator is off,
- the lockup clutch can be brought into a state where it is not suddenly engaged and is not completely released.
- the lockup clutch can be brought into a state where it is not suddenly engaged and is not completely released.
- the lockup clutch can be engaged in a complete lockup state by gradually increasing the torque transmission capacity. . For this reason, even if the accelerator is off, the engine is driven from the drive wheels by the lock-up clutch. For example, the fuel consumption can be prevented from deteriorating by setting the engine in a fuel cut state.

- the control apparatus includes a coast determination unit 8A, an accelerator determination unit 8B, and a learning control unit. 8C and control unit 8D.
- Coast determining unit 8A determines whether or not the vehicle is in a coasting state. This determination is made here based on “whether or not the idle switch 92 is turned on”, but it may also be made based on “whether or not the accelerator opening sensor 91 is less than a minute predetermined value close to 0”. The determination may be made based on the ratio between the speed (torcon impeller rotational speed) and the transmission input shaft rotational speed (torque turbine rotational speed).
- the accelerator determination unit 8B determines whether the accelerator pedal is stepped on and returned, as well as whether the accelerator is on or off, based on detection information from an accelerator opening sensor 91 serving as an accelerator state detection unit. For example, if the accelerator opening detected by the accelerator opening sensor 91 increases, it is determined that the accelerator pedal is depressed, and if the detected accelerator opening decreases, it is determined that the accelerator pedal is returned. Further, if the value of the detection information from the accelerator opening sensor 91 is equal to or greater than a minute determination threshold, it is determined as “accelerator on”, and if the value of the detection information from the accelerator opening sensor 91 is less than the minute determination threshold. It is determined that the accelerator is off.
- “accelerator pedal depression”, “accelerator pedal depression”, “accelerator on” and “accelerator off” are detected information from the accelerator opening sensor 91 so that they can be determined without being affected by noise or the like.
- the determination is performed by performing low-pass filter processing such as moving average or smoothing. Since the determination threshold for determining “accelerator on” and “accelerator off” is a minute value close to 0, the determination of “accelerator off” takes longer than the determination of “accelerator on” for normal accelerator operation. It takes. Further, based on the detection information from the idle switch 92, it may be determined that “accelerator is on” if the idle switch 92 is off, and “accelerator off” if the idle switch 92 is on.
- the learning control unit 8C the hydraulic pressure (that is, the lockup differential pressure ⁇ P) supplied to the lockup clutch 20 at the coast lockup in which the lockup clutch 20 is engaged by the coast lockup control by the coast lockup control unit 8e.
- the hydraulic pressure at which the lock-up clutch 20 starts to slip is determined and stored as the slip achievement hydraulic pressure.
- Hydraulic pressure supplied to the lock-up clutch 20 (lockup differential pressure [Delta] P) is so defined (also referred to as a clutch capacitance) C LU torque transmission capacity of the lock-up clutch 20, when attention is focused on the torque transmission capacity C LU, slip learned
- a torque transmission capacity C LU corresponding to the achieved hydraulic pressure, and this is set as a coast capacity learning value CLUL .
- the coast capacity learning value CLUL is a minimum torque capacity that causes the lockup clutch 20 to be engaged during coasting , and is also referred to as a coast lockup capacity, and is also referred to as a reference capacity because it is used as a reference for clutch torque capacity control.
- the control unit 8C includes a function (coast lockup control unit) 8e that performs coast lockup control for locking the lockup clutch 20 during coasting of the vehicle, and a lockup clutch when the accelerator is turned on during coast lockup control.
- a function (second capacity temporary reduction control unit) 8g for executing a second capacity temporary reduction control for causing the torque transmission capacity of the lockup clutch 20 to once again decrease to a low level and then to increase again is provided. ,have.
- the coast lock-up control unit 8e increases the torque transmission capacity and locks the lock-up clutch 20 in a lock-up state when a predetermined coast lock-up condition is satisfied when the coast determination state of the vehicle is determined by the coast determination unit 8A. To do. Here, control is performed by paying attention to the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20, and the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 is completely engaged by the lock-up clutch 20 during coasting and torque is transmitted. As shown in FIG. 2C, the lockup differential pressure ⁇ P is increased so that the coast running engagement capacity CLUC , which is preset as the clutch capacity, is maintained, and the coast running engagement capacity CLUC is held.
- the coast running engagement capacity CLUC is set to a value that is larger by a predetermined amount ⁇ than the coast lockup capacity (coast capacity learning value) CLUL, which is the reference capacity, so that the lockup clutch 20 is completely engaged securely.
- the torque transmission capacity C LUAO that completely engages the lockup clutch 20 when it is on is normally larger than the coasting engagement capacity C LUC and is determined by the engine output at that time.
- the coast lockup control condition when the vehicle is in a coast state is that the vehicle speed V is equal to or higher than the reference vehicle speed V1 (vehicle speed condition).
- This vehicle speed condition is for eliminating the extremely low vehicle speed. That is, at an extremely low vehicle speed, the idling speed of the engine 1 is low, so that the engine is easily stalled due to coast lockup. In order to avoid this, vehicle speed conditions are provided.
- the first capacity temporary reduction control unit 8f starts the first capacity temporary reduction control when accelerator-on is determined when the lockup clutch 20 is in the lockup state by the coast lockup control.
- the torque transmission capacity is decreased to bring the lockup clutch 20 into the slip state, and then the torque transmission capacity is increased to return the lockup clutch 20 to the lockup state.
- first slip control the control for lowering the torque transmission capacity to bring the lock-up clutch 20 into the slip state is referred to as first slip control.
- first slip control the control for increasing the torque transmission capacity and returning the lockup clutch 20 to the lockup state is performed in order to increase the torque transmission capacity gradually and smoothly shift to the lockup. This is called 1 smooth-on control.
- the first slip control Is started.
- the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 adjusted to the coasting engagement capacity CLUC is set to the coast set by the learning control unit 8D.
- the lock-up clutch 20 is brought into a slip state.
- the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is lowered to a slip control capacity CLUS that is lower than the coast lockup capacity CLUL by a predetermined amount ⁇ .
- the slip control capacity CLUS is not reduced at a stretch, but it is reduced to an intermediate capacity lower than the reference capacity CLUL and higher than the slip control capacity CLUS , and then to the slip control capacity CLUS.
- Reduce to a ramp Reduce Thus in a ramp form is to decrease the torque transmission capacity C LU is so not to cause release of the lockup clutch 20 to overshoot.
- the lockup clutch 20 maintains the slip state. This is because torque equivalent to engine braking is input from the engine to the lockup clutch 20 during coasting, whereas output torque corresponding to the accelerator opening is input from the engine to the lockup clutch 20 when the accelerator is on. In general, the input torque when the accelerator is on is larger than the input torque when coasting. For this reason, when the accelerator is on, even if the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is set to the reference capacity CLUL , the slip state is established without being completely engaged.
- First smooth on control carried out from time t 2 after being returned to the reference capacitance C LUL to the lock-up clutch 20 in the slipping state by the first slip control.
- this control in order to make the lock-up clutch 20 in the fully engaged state, gradually increasing the hydraulic pressure supplied to the lock-up clutch 20, thereby gradually increase the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 from a reference capacitance C LUL.
- the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 that has returned to the reference capacity CLUS is increased in a ramp shape with a gentle inclination.
- the reason why the torque transmission capacity CLU is increased in a ramp shape is to avoid the occurrence of a shock due to a driving force step when the lockup clutch 20 is engaged. If the torque transmission capacity C LU reaches the accelerator-on engagement capacity C LUAO , it can be determined that the lockup clutch 20 is in the fully engaged state.
- the slope (increase rate) when the torque transmission capacity CLU is increased in a ramp shape is appropriately set so that the shock generated by the driving force step as described above can be reduced.
- an increase in the torque transmission capacity C LU step-shaped lock-up clutch 20 is not limited by the reference capacitor C LUL, setting the capacitance lowering lower limit to slightly larger value and slightly smaller than the reference capacitance C LUL
- the lower limit of the capacity may be in the vicinity of the reference capacity CLUL .
- the second temporary capacity reduction control unit 8g determines whether the accelerator pedal is stepped back while the lockup clutch 20 is returning to the lockup by the first temporary capacity reduction control, that is, when it is slipping. Then, after the torque transmission capacity is reduced again, the second capacity temporary reduction control for increasing the torque transmission capacity and returning the lockup clutch 20 to the lockup state again is performed.
- the control for reducing the torque transmission capacity in the second temporary capacity reduction control also brings the lock-up clutch 20 into the slip state, and this control is called the second slip control.
- the control for increasing the torque transmission capacity and returning the lock-up clutch 20 to the lock-up state also increases the torque transmission capacity gradually and smoothly shifts to the lock-up. This is called second smooth-on control.
- a second slip control is started . That is, in the second slip control, as indicated by a solid line in FIG. 2, the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is changed to the engagement capacity C when the accelerator is on by the first smooth on control in the first temporary capacity reduction control.
- the process is started when the accelerator is turned off in a stage until reaching LUAO , that is, in a slip state in which the lock-up clutch 20 is completely engaged.
- the hydraulic pressure supplied to the lockup clutch 20 is reduced to the slip achieving hydraulic pressure at which the lockup clutch 20 maintains the slip state even if the output torque of the engine 1 decreases due to the accelerator pedal being depressed. Then, the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is decreased.
- the torque transmission capacity necessary for complete engagement of the lockup clutch 20 increases at this time, but when the accelerator is off, the lockup clutch 20 is fully engaged. The required torque transmission capacity is reduced.
- the torque transmission capacity of the lock-up clutch 20 increases as the hydraulic pressure supplied increases, so the balance of the torque transmission capacity of the lock-up clutch 20 changes suddenly and the lock-up clutch 20 suddenly engages. Shock may occur.
- the lock-up clutch 20 is completely released, the engine 1 may blow away.
- the second slip control is for eliminating these problems.
- the lockup clutch 20 is supplied to the lockup clutch 20 in order to reduce the torque transmission capacity CLU while reliably putting the lockup clutch 20 in the slip state without bringing the lockup clutch 20 into a fully released state.
- the clutch hydraulic pressure reduction control is performed to reduce the hydraulic pressure to be ramped and reduce the torque transmission capacity CLU of the lockup clutch 20 in a ramp shape.
- to reduce the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 in a ramp form is because you want to reliably avoid complete release of the lock-up clutch 20, when reducing the torque transmission capacity C LU like a ramp
- the slope (decrease rate) is appropriately set from this viewpoint.
- This clutch capacity reduction control can also be called smooth-off control.
- the torque transmission capacity C LU can be reduced while maintaining the slip state of the lock-up clutch 20 only by reducing the supply hydraulic pressure of the lock-up clutch 20 in a ramp shape.
- the lower limit value (capacity lowering lower limit value) for reducing the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is set to the reference capacity (coast lockup capacity) CLUL , and the torque transmission capacity.
- the lowering capacity lower limit value is set to the reference capacity CLUL
- the lowering capacity lower limit value is set to a reference value such as setting the lowering capacity lowering value to a value slightly larger or slightly smaller than the reference capacity CLUL. It may be set near the capacity CLUL .
- the accelerator opening decreases to zero (time t 4 ), but there is a slight time lag and the accelerator off is confirmed (acceleration determination) (time t 5). ).
- the clutch capacity maintaining control for maintaining the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 at the reference capacity CLUL is continued.
- the smooth on control Similarly, second smooth-on control is performed to increase the torque transmission capacity CLU of the lockup clutch 20 in a ramp shape with a gentle slope.
- the second smooth-on control increases the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 in a ramp shape with a gentle slope. Also in this case, if the torque transmission capacity C LU reaches the coasting engagement capacity C LUC , the lockup clutch 20 is completely engaged.
- the inclination (increase rate) when the torque transmission capacity CLU is increased in a ramp shape in this case is also set as appropriate so that the shock generated by the driving force step as described above can be reduced.
- the inclination is the same as in the first smooth-on control, but it may be set separately from the first smooth-on control.
- the lockup clutch 20 can be controlled.
- the flowcharts of FIGS. 3 and 4 are started in response to an on operation of the key switch of the vehicle, are repeated at a predetermined control cycle, and are ended in response to an off operation of the key switch. Further, F1, F2, and F3 in the flowcharts of FIGS. 3 and 4 are all control flags.
- step S2 it is determined whether or not the flag F1 is 1 (step S2).
- the flag F1 is set to 1 when the coast lockup control condition is satisfied, and is set to 0 in other cases.
- coast lock-up control or control related to the first slip control, smooth on control, and second slip control is performed.
- step S4 determines whether or not the vehicle is in the coast state. If it is determined that the vehicle is in the coast state, it is determined whether or not the vehicle speed V is equal to or higher than the reference vehicle speed V1 (step S6). If the vehicle speed V is equal to or higher than the reference vehicle speed V1, the coast lockup control condition is satisfied, the flag F1 is set to 1 (step S8), and the coast lockup control is started (step S10). In the coast lock-up control, the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 is increased to the coasting engagement capacity CLUC and held. As a result, the lock-up clutch 20 is completely engaged and torque is transmitted.
- step S2 the process proceeds from step S2 to step S12, and it is determined whether or not the accelerator is turned on by the accelerator determination unit 8a. If the accelerator is not turned on, the process proceeds to step S10 and the coast lockup control is continued.
- step S14 When the accelerator is turned on, it is determined whether or not the flag F2 is 0 (step S14).
- the flag F2 is set to 1 when the accelerator is turned on from the coast lock-up, and the first slip control execution condition of the first capacity temporary reduction control is satisfied, and thereafter, the condition for shifting to the first smooth-on control. Is established, 2 when the accelerator pedal is stepped back during smooth-on control, and 3 is established when the second slip control execution condition of the second temporary capacity reduction control is established, and the lock-up clutch 20 is fully engaged. It is set to 0 in other cases, such as when the smooth-on control of the first temporary capacity reduction control and the smooth-on control of the second temporary capacity reduction control are terminated.
- the flag F2 is 1, the first slip control is performed, when the flag F2 is 2, the smooth on control is performed, and when the flag F2 is 3, the second slip control is performed.
- the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 after lowering once to a higher intermediate capacity than lower slip control capacitor C LUS than the reference capacity C LUL, is lowered until the slip control capacitance C LUS like a ramp The slip control capacity CLUS is maintained.
- step S2 when the flag F2 is set to 1, in the next control cycle, the process proceeds from step S2 to steps S12 and S14 to step S22 to determine whether or not the flag F2 is 1.
- the process proceeds to step S24, and the timer is counted up. That is, the timer count value T is incremented by the unit count value t. Thereafter, it is determined whether or not the timer count value T has reached the set value T0 (step S26).
- the set value T0 is set corresponding to a minute time (for example, 0.2 seconds) set as the execution time of the first slip control.
- step S20 If the timer count value T does not reach the set value T0, the first slip control is continued (step S20). When the timer count value T reaches the set value T0, the timer is stopped and the timer count value T is reset to 0 (step S28). Then, the flag F2 is set to 2 (step S30), and the first smooth on control is performed (step S32).
- step S42 it is determined whether or not the lockup clutch 20 is completely engaged. If the lock-up clutch 20 is not completely engaged, the process of the current control cycle is finished and the process returns. Thus, when the flag F2 is set to 2, in the next control cycle, the process proceeds from step S2 through steps S12S14 and S22 to step S34 to determine whether or not the flag F2 is 2.
- step S36 it is determined whether or not the accelerator pedal has been stepped back. If the accelerator pedal is not stepped back, the first smooth-on control is continued (step S32), and the lock-up clutch 20 is completely engaged by the smooth-on control. The process proceeds to step S44, and the flags F1, F2 are advanced. , F3 are reset to 0, and fuel cut control is performed (step S46). The flag F3 will be described later.
- step S36 the accelerator pedal is stepped back before the lock-up clutch 20 under the first smooth-on control is completely engaged
- the process proceeds from step S36 to step S38, the flag F2 is set to 3, and the flag F3 is set to 1.
- the second capacity temporary reduction control is performed (step S40).
- step S42 it is determined whether or not the lockup clutch 20 is completely engaged (step S42). If the lock-up clutch 20 is not completely engaged, the process of the current control cycle is finished and the process returns.
- step S2 when the flag F2 is set to 3, in the next control cycle, the process proceeds from step S2 to steps S40 through steps S12, S14, S22, S34, and the second capacity temporary reduction control is continued.
- step S44 When the lock-up clutch 20 is completely engaged by the second smooth-on control of the capacity temporary reduction control, the process proceeds to step S44, where all the flags F1, F2, and F3 are reset to 0 and the fuel cut control is performed. (Step S46).
- step S402 it is determined whether or not the flag F3 is 1 (step S402).
- the flag F3 is set to 1 when the condition of the second slip control of the second capacity temporary reduction control is satisfied (step S38 in FIG. 3), so the process proceeds to step S408, and the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is reached. Is temporarily reduced by a predetermined capacity c 1 in each control cycle, and is reduced in a ramp shape over a plurality of control cycles.
- the flag F3 is set to 1 when the conditions from the first smooth-on control to the second temporary capacity reduction control are satisfied, and then the torque of the lock-up clutch 20 by the second slip control of the second temporary capacity reduction control.
- transmission capacity C LU decreases to the reference capacitance (coasting capacity learning value) C LUL is 2, then, is a 3
- accelerator pedal is confirmed, the lock-up clutch 20 is the second slip control is finished completely engaged In other cases, 0 is set.
- the clutch capacity reduction control of the second slip control is performed as described above.
- the clutch capacity maintenance control of the second slip control is performed.
- the flag F2 is 3, the second smooth on control is performed.
- step S410 it is determined whether or not the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 has decreased to a reference capacity (coast lockup capacity) CLUL (step S410).
- a reference capacity coast lockup capacity
- step S416 it is determined whether or not the accelerator is off.
- the process proceeds to step S418, the flag F3 is set to 3, the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 is increased in each control cycle by a predetermined capacity c 2, a plurality of control Second smooth-on control that increases in a ramp shape over a period is performed (step S420).
- step S422 it is determined whether or not the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 has increased to the engagement capacity C LUC (step S422). Since the torque transmitting capacity C LU of the lock-up clutch 20 over a plurality of control cycles increases in a ramp form the torque transmission capacity C LU increased to engagement capacity C LUC during coasting, from step S422 to step S424 It is assumed that the lockup clutch 20 has completed the engagement.
- the lockup clutch 20 when the coast lockup condition is satisfied, the lockup clutch 20 can be engaged by the coast lockup, and the engine brake can be applied during the coasting. Is driven by the lock-up clutch 20 from the drive wheels, so that the fuel consumption can be improved by putting the engine 1 in the fuel cut state.
- the lock-up clutch 20 When the accelerator is turned on during coast lock-up, the lock-up clutch 20 is quickly switched from the engaged state to the slip state by the first slip control, and then the torque transmission capacity C LU is gradually increased in a ramp shape by the smooth-on control. Therefore, the shock generated by the driving force level difference of the vehicle can be reduced.
- the lock-up clutch 20 Since the lock-up clutch 20 is quickly switched to the slip state by the first slip control, as shown by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 2C, the lock-up clutch 20 is quickly returned to the engaged state while reducing the shock.
- the lockup clutch 20 can be fastened, and the engine 1 can be brought into a fuel cut state to improve fuel efficiency.
- the torque transmission capacity C can be promptly switched to the slip state while preventing the lockup clutch 20 from being released due to an overshoot caused by a drop in LU .
- the torque transmission capacity C LU of the lockup clutch 20 is maintained at the reference capacity CLUL that keeps the slip state in the idling state until the accelerator opening becomes zero, so that the torque transmission that the lockup clutch 20 is engaged is transmitted. Even if the capacity decreases, the lock-up clutch 20 is not completely engaged suddenly, and naturally, the lock-up clutch 20 is not completely released.
- the accelerator is turned on at the coast lock-up, and the clutch capacity is gradually increased toward the complete engagement by the smooth-on control through the first slip control (that is, the supply hydraulic pressure is gradually increased). before it is) developing the full engagement, when the accelerator-off, as shown in FIG. 2, the start of fuel cut (F / C) is, though delayed from time t 6 to time t 7, a relatively small delay The fuel cut can be carried out.
- the capacity reduction due to the clutch capacity reduction control of the second slip control is limited to the reference capacity CLUL which is the lower limit value of the torque transmission capacity CLU of the lockup clutch 20, so that the fuel cut can be performed with a relatively slight delay. Can be implemented. If this restriction is not present, the lockup clutch 20 may be released, and the timing of complete engagement of the lockup clutch 20 due to the gradual increase of the torque transmission capacity CLU thereafter is also shown in FIG. It will be delayed as shown by the broken line.
- the lock-up clutch 20 is engaged. At this time, the hydraulic pressure supplied to the lock-up clutch 20 is lowered to obtain the hydraulic pressure at which the lock-up clutch 20 starts to slip.
- the achieved hydraulic pressure By memorizing as the achieved hydraulic pressure, an appropriate slip achieved hydraulic pressure can always be obtained, and the slip state can be reliably established without releasing the lockup clutch 20.
- the learning control section 8D since coast lockup capacity (reference capacitance) C LUL is learned set, it is possible to accurately obtain the coast lockup capacity C LUL, to properly implement the control of the lock-up clutch 20 be able to.
- fuel cut is performed to improve fuel efficiency during coast lock-up, that is, when the lock-up clutch is engaged during coast driving, but fuel cut is performed during coast lock-up control. Is not required. Even if the fuel cut is not performed, the engine brake can be applied during the coasting, and the effect of improving the operability of the vehicle can be obtained.
- the coast lock-up capacity CLUL is set by the learning control unit 8D.
- the coast lock-up capacity CLUL may be estimated from a change in the vehicle speed or the vehicle speed during coasting.
- the controller 8C is not essential for the control device of the present invention.
