- DE 10 2009 059 056 A1 relates to a piston for an internal combustion engine, having a piston crown, a circumferential land and a ring groove having annular peripheral part and a piston skirt, which has two skirt walls and two recessed against the ring part, the shaft walls connecting box walls, that in the region of the box walls in each case a freestanding underside of the ring portion is formed, wherein the box walls are provided with hub bores having pin bosses. It is envisaged that at least one support element is arranged between each freestanding underside of the ring section and the box wall assigned to it. These support elements form an elaborate in the production oblique support of the shaft in the hub.
- DE 10 2007 018 932 A1 relates to a piston of an internal combustion engine having a piston ring having a ring field, to which a piston skirt enclosing a piston inner space adjoins with two supporting shaft wall sections and two bolt hubs. - DE 10 2007 018 932 A1 is thus an example of existing piston geometries, which have a retracted in Bolzenachsplatz shaft in the manner of a box piston. In this design, a large wall thickness and thus a high material usage is required to ensure a low deformation caused by the operating loads.
