Definitions
- the present invention relates to a connector and a tool changer using the same.
- Robot arms used in industrial equipment perform production work by attaching various tools (end effectors) such as welding tools to the tip.
- tools end effectors
- This tool changer comprises a combination of a master plate attached to the tip of a robot arm and a plurality of tool plates each equipped with various tools. Each tool plate is formed so as to be matable with the master plate. By exchanging the tool plate, the tool of the robot arm can be easily exchanged.
- an electrical signal line of the robot arm is connected to the master plate, and transmission / reception of electrical signals with the tool is achieved via the master plate and the tool plate.
- a connector composed of a male terminal (pin) and a female terminal (socket) is generally used for electrical connection between the master plate and the tool plate.
- the tool plate is repeatedly engaged and disengaged with the master plate with the replacement of the tool. For this reason, if the male terminal and the female terminal are not easily fitted and detached, there is a possibility that the workability of the tool replacement and the productivity of the robot arm may be lowered.
- the tool has a mechanism that requires precise signal control such as a servo motor, an error may occur in the tool unless the signal is reliably transmitted.

Abstract
