Definitions
- the present invention relates to a seal member and a front fork including the seal member.
- a shock absorber that generates a damping force by using a working fluid such as hydraulic oil, a cylinder device that drives an object by using a working fluid, etc. And an axial member such as a piston rod which is axially movably inserted.
- the shock absorber and the cylinder device can be expanded and contracted by relative movement of the cylindrical member and the shaft member.
- a seal member is provided between the cylindrical member and the shaft member, and the seal member prevents the leakage of the working fluid in the cylindrical member.
- the shock absorber of the front fork for suspending the front wheel is connected to the outer tube (cylindrical member) connected to one of the vehicle side and the wheel side, and to the other side of the vehicle side and the wheel side.
- a shock absorber main body comprising an inner tube (shaft member) axially movably inserted into the outer tube.
- the shock absorber main body is provided with a seal member which accommodates the working fluid inside and closes the open-air side opening of the cylindrical gap formed in the overlapping portion of the outer tube and the inner tube.
- JP2013-002622A and 2012-180883A are equipped with a seal member for oil seal equipped with an oil lip that prevents the outflow of working fluid in the shock absorber main body, and a dust strip that scrapes off foreign substances adhering to the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube. It is disclosed to provide a seal member for dust seal in series.
- the foreign matter is scraped off by the seal member for dust seal, so that foreign matter can be prevented from mixing into the shock absorber main body, and the sliding face of the oil lip is damaged by the foreign matter adhering to the inner tube, It is possible to prevent the working fluid from leaking to the outside.
- the inner tube may be bent or inclined relative to the outer tube depending on the input of an external force.
- the follow-up property of the dust lip to the inner tube is improved, and it is suppressed that the dust lip is separated from the inner tube to cause opening.
- the dust lip is made of an elastic material such as rubber and has an interference with the inner tube, it is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube. Therefore, when the dust lip hardens due to deterioration, the followability to the inner tube may be reduced.
- the inner tube may be removed with respect to the inner tube. It is preferable to reduce the inclination angle of the dust lip (close to parallel). In this case, the tip of the dust lip may warp in a direction away from the inner tube to cause a warp.
- the garter spring is formed by connecting both ends of a coil spring formed by winding a wire and forming a helical shape, and it is easy to store foreign matter inside. When the inside of the garter spring is full of foreign matter, the tightening force by the garter spring decreases. Furthermore, when attaching the garter spring, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the tip of the dust lip that corresponds to the attachment portion, so if the tip of the dust lip is arranged to face upward, Foreign matter can be easily collected.
