- the REM sleep detection unit 43 predicts whether the subject is in a REM sleep state or a non-REM sleep state at an arbitrary time.
- the feature amount calculation unit 44 calculates a feature amount from a physiological index such as the eye movement of the subject, and whether the subject is in a fuzzy / rem sleep state or a tonic / sleep state. Is detected.
- the awakening method determination unit 45 determines the awakening and the sleep depth of the subject based on information obtained from the sleep state calculation unit 41, the sleep variable calculation unit 42, the REM sleep detection unit 43, and the feature amount calculation unit 44. Decide how to present stimuli to control.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit is based on a map or the like that records an associated relationship between a predetermined time elapsed from the start of sleep of the subject, the intensity of the stimulus, and the stimulus presentation interval. Determine the amount of stimulus presented to the subject.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 presents a stimulus for awakening the subject or for moving the subject to an arbitrary sleep depth.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 gives a perceptible physical stimulus to the subject.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 presents stimuli such as light, sound, vibration, heat, cold air, and smell to the subject.
- the subject inputs a desired awakening time or a desired sleeping time from the awakening time input device 20 connected to the mobile communication terminal 40 (S11).
- the biological information measuring device group 30 measures physiological indices such as brain waves, respiration, and heartbeat of the subject (S12).
- the sleep variable calculation unit 42 calculates a sleep variable such as an expected sleep depth at an arbitrary time of the subject (S13). Based on the sleep variable calculated by the sleep variable calculation unit 42 by the awakening method determination unit 45, there is a target person's awakening method such as starting awakening of the target person or guiding the target person to a predetermined sleep depth. It is determined (S14). In order to execute the awakening method determined by the awakening method determination unit 45, a stimulus is presented to the subject by the stimulus presentation device 47 (S15).
- the sleep variable of the subject is acquired by the sleep variable calculation unit 42 (S21).
- the sleep variable calculation unit 42 determines whether or not the sleep variable calculation unit 42 is in a transitional state so that the sleep depth becomes deeper during the awakening time desired by the subject (S22).
- the sleep depth of the subject during sleep periodically increases and decreases.
- Such a period of increase / decrease in sleep depth is called ultradian rhythm.
- Sleep inertia where the subject's consciousness continues to be low when the subject is awakened forcibly by stimulating the subject in a state where the subject's sleep depth is deeper May reduce the consciousness of the subject after awakening.
- the present inventors have found that the phase of the increase / decrease cycle of the subject's sleep depth can be changed by appropriately applying a stimulus. For example, as shown in FIG. 5, by changing the stimulus presentation time, it is possible to vary the time from the end of the stimulus presentation until the sleep stage 2 is reached.
- one cycle of increase / decrease in sleep depth is completed in a cycle of about 90 minutes. Therefore, when the sleep time desired by the subject is a multiple of 90 minutes such as 6 hours, the sleep depth of the subject is just the shallowest in the awakening time, so the sleep inertia is small and comfortable Awakening is obtained. However, for example, when the sleep time desired by the subject is 7 hours and is not a multiple of 90 minutes, the subject is awakened in a transitional state so that the sleep depth of the subject becomes deeper. Become. In this case, there is a possibility of a decrease in consciousness after awakening due to sleep inertia.
- the stimulus that does not wake up until the wake-up time desired by the subject in the section in which the sleep depth before the sleep depth increases decreases.
- the phase of the increase / decrease period of the subject's sleep depth is shifted (S23).
- the sleep inertia of the subject decreases if the ⁇ wave spectrum increases about 10 to 20 minutes before the awakening time, which corresponds to about 5% of the sleeping time.
- the ⁇ wave is a background brain wave that appears at a sleep depth corresponding to sleep stage 1.
- the REM sleep detection unit 43 predicts that the subject is not in the REM sleep state during the awakening time (S24), From 10 minutes to 20 minutes before or 5% of the total sleep time from the time the subject is scheduled to wake up, the subject is presented with a stimulus so that the subject becomes sleep depth 1 sleep depth and ⁇ waves appear. (S25).
- the subject is guided to a shallower sleep by the stimulus presentation from the stimulus presentation device 47. It is confirmed that the ⁇ wave appears from the subject's brain wave, and it is confirmed that the eye movement of the subject is not a saw-tooth shape generated by REM sleep. It is confirmed that the sleep depth corresponds to the sleep stage 1 from the breathing of the subject. When the sleep depth increases before the awakening time, a stimulus is presented each time.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 presents a stimulus for awakening the subject, such as a continuous stimulus of 5 seconds to 10 seconds. After the awakening time has elapsed, stimulation by vibration may be presented at regular time intervals. Also, other types of stimuli such as sounds may be combined and presented.
- the subject is awakened as follows.
- REM sleep the subject is in a relaxed state, and the consciousness after awakening tends to decrease.
- the subject may be attacked by very strong sleepiness during daytime awakening. Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 9, the subject is prevented from shifting from non-REM sleep to REM sleep in the last REM sleep period closest to the awakening time (S26).
- a vibration stimulus or the like is generated from the stimulus presentation device 47 in order to obtain good wake-up after wake-up.
- a vibration stimulus or the like is generated from the stimulus presentation device 47 in order to obtain good wake-up after wake-up.
- a sawtooth electrooculogram generated by REM sleep is detected before the awakening time, a stimulus is presented each time and REM sleep is excluded.
- the REM sleep detection unit 43 detects the eye movement of the subject by capturing the movement of the shadow of the subject's pupil with the electrooculogram sensor 36 attached to the head or the eyeball camera 35, and detects the subject's eye movement. Detect the state of REM sleep. Whether or not the subject enters a REM sleep state at an arbitrary time can be predicted by the normal ultradian rhythm of the subject.
- the REM sleep detection unit 43 predicts that the subject is in the REM sleep state during the awakening time (S24), as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. Stimulation is timed so as to suppress the transition from REM sleep to phasic REM sleep (S26).
- the feature amount calculation unit 44 distinguishes between the phasic period and the tonic period during REM sleep, presents a stimulus during the tonic period, and the subject changes from tonic REM sleep to phasic REM sleep.
- the feature amount calculation unit 44 detects the eye movement of the subject by capturing the movement of the shadow of the subject's pupil with the electrooculogram sensor 36 or the eyeball camera 35 attached to the head, and detects the subject's tonic. ⁇ The state of REM sleep can be detected. In addition, the feature amount calculation unit 44 can detect the tonic / REM sleep state of the subject from the degree of variation in heart rate variability obtained by the heart rate sensor 37. The feature amount calculation unit 44 determines that the subject is in a state of fuzzy REM sleep in any state of occurrence of eye movement and increase in heart rate variability.
- a vibration stimulus is presented, and awakening is promoted.
- the fuzzy REM sleep stimulation is similarly presented. If no eye movement or heart rate variability is observed and the patient is in a tonic REM sleep state, no stimulus is presented until the awakening time, and the stimulus is used to wake the subject after reaching the awakening time. Is presented.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit 46 presents a stimulus having a lower intensity as the elapsed time of sleep from the start of sleep is longer, using the maps as illustrated in FIGS. It is possible to prevent the subject from being awakened before the awakening time.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit 46 uses the elapsed time from the start of sleep of the subject calculated by the sleep variable calculation unit 42 to determine the stimulus intensity at the time of presenting the stimulus.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit 46 may determine the stimulus intensity using a map that is separate from other time zones. .
- the stimulus intensity may be a function of frequency, presentation time, amplitude, and the like.
- the stimulus can be determined using a map that associates these values with the elapsed time from the start of sleep.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit 46 may determine the stimulus intensity and the presentation method using a map associating the elapsed time from the start of sleep, the stimulus intensity, and the stimulus presentation interval as shown in FIG. good.
- the stimulus presentation amount determination unit 46 may switch the map according to the magnitude of the change in sleep depth after the first stimulus presentation, as indicated by a broken line and a solid line in FIG.
- the sleep variable calculation unit 42 predicts a change in the sleep depth of the subject during sleep, and the stimulus presentation device 47 is configured so that the sleep depth of the subject becomes deeper during the awakening time of the subject.
- the sleep variable calculation unit 42 predicts that the state is a transition state, the stimulus is given to the subject at a time before the awakening time. For this reason, the phase of the change in the sleep depth of the subject is out of phase, and in the time when the subject is awakened, the sleep depth is transitioning so that the sleep depth is shallower, not the state where the sleep depth is deeper This increases the possibility of being able to obtain a more comfortable awakening.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 gives the stimulus to the subject at a time predicted by the sleep variable calculation unit 42 to be a transition state in which the subject's sleep depth becomes shallower. For this reason, the phase of the change in the sleep depth of the subject is out of phase, and there is a higher possibility that the subject will be in a transitional state so that the sleep depth of the subject becomes shallower even in the time to wake up the subject. The possibility of obtaining a comfortable awakening is further increased.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 applies a stimulus that does not wake up the subject until the wake-up time in the time of applying the stimulus. Therefore, while preventing the subject from awakening before the time to wake up the subject, it increases the possibility of entering the transition state so that the sleep depth of the subject becomes shallower during the awakening time, and a more comfortable awakening Is more likely to be obtained.
- the sleep variable calculation part 42 estimates the period of the change of the sleep depth of the subject in sleep, and the stimulus presentation apparatus 47 changes the sleep depth predicted by the sleep variable calculation part 42.
- stimulation is given to the subject within a period that is predicted to be a transition state in which the subject's sleep depth becomes shallower.
- the sleep variable calculation part 42 is a transition state which predicts the period of the change of the sleep depth of the subject in sleep, and becomes deeper in the sleep depth of the subject in the awakening time.
- the sleep variable calculation unit 42 predicts the stimulation device 47, each of the periods in which the sleep depth of the subject becomes deeper in the sleep depth change cycle predicted by the sleep variable calculation unit 42 is obtained.
- the stimulus is given to the subject so that the period closest to the awakening time is shorter.
- the period during which the sleep depth immediately before the time when the subject wakes up is shortened, and the sleep inertia in which the state of low consciousness of the subject after wake-up is reduced decreases, so that more comfortable wake-up can be obtained.
- the possibility of being able to do is further increased.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 applies the stimulus to the subject, thereby changing the sleep depth of the subject to the sleep depth corresponding to the sleep stage 1 from the time when the stimulus is presented until the awakening time is reached. maintain.
- sleep stage 1 a ⁇ wave appears as a background electroencephalogram.
- the REM sleep detection unit 43 predicts the REM sleep period in which the sleeping subject performs REM sleep, and the stimulus presentation device 47 is based on the REM sleep period predicted by the REM sleep detection unit 43.
- the subject is stimulated so as to suppress the transition from non-REM sleep to REM sleep.
- REM sleep is a situation where the subject is relaxed, and the subject's consciousness tends to become lower after awakening. Therefore, the consciousness of the subject after awakening can be increased by suppressing the subject from shifting from non-REM sleep to REM sleep.
- the stimulus presentation apparatus 47 is that the subject shifts from non-REM sleep to REM sleep in the REM sleep period closest to the awakening time in each of the REM sleep periods predicted by the REM sleep detection unit 43.
- a stimulus is given to a subject so that it may suppress. If the REM sleep of the subject who is sleeping is suppressed too much, the consciousness of the subject who is awakened may drop sharply. Therefore, while increasing the consciousness of the subject after awakening by suppressing the transition to REM sleep in the REM sleep period closest to the time to awaken the subject within each of the REM sleep periods of the subject while sleeping It is possible to prevent the consciousness of the subject who is awakening from rapidly decreasing.
- the feature amount calculation unit 44 predicts the phasic / REM sleep period in which the subject during sleep performs the fuzzy / REM sleep, and the stimulus presentation device 47 predicts the feature amount calculation unit 44.
- the subject is stimulated at the second time so as to prevent the subject from shifting from tonic REM sleep to phasic REM sleep.
- REM sleep there are a phasic period in which the eyeball moves and the external sensation is blocked, and an external sensation and a tonic period close to sleep stage 1.
- the subject's REM sleep during sleep is suppressed too much, the consciousness of the subject who is awakened may be rapidly reduced.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 allows the subject to perform a tonic rem sleep in the phasic rem sleep period closest to the awakening time in each of the phasic rem sleep periods predicted by the feature amount calculation unit 44 A stimulus is given to the subject so as to suppress the transition from sleep to fuzzy REM sleep. Thereby, the situation close to more natural sleep can be created, and the consciousness of the subject who is awake can be prevented from rapidly decreasing while the consciousness of the subject after awakening is increased.
- the feature amount calculation unit 44 predicts a tonic / REM sleep period in which the sleeping subject performs tonic / REM sleep, and the stimulus presentation device 47 predicts the feature amount calculation unit 44.
- the subject is stimulated during the tonic REM sleep period. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the transition to phasic REM sleep while allowing the subject to perform tonic REM sleep, while increasing the awareness of the subject after awakening, Can be prevented.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 gives a weaker stimulus to the subject as the elapsed time from the start of sleep of the subject is longer.
- Adrenal cortex hormone cortisol
- Cortisol is a hormone that increases in the preparation stage from sleep to wakefulness. Therefore, as sleep time increases and the amount of cortisol increases, the intensity of the stimulus is weakened, thereby giving the subject appropriate stimulation and controlling sleep while preventing the subject from waking up before the awakening time. can do.
- the stimulus presentation device 47 stimulates the subject based on the relationship between the elapsed time from the start of sleep of the subject and the intensity of the stimulus in the time to present the stimulus. Is granted. Thereby, it is possible to control sleep while giving an appropriate stimulus to the subject and preventing the subject from awakening before the awakening time.
- the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications are possible.
- the time for presenting the stimulus to the subject and the awakening time are specific times, but both may be a time zone having a predetermined width.
- the time zone in which the stimulus is presented to the subject and the time zone in which the subject wakes up can be different times.
- the stimulus may be presented to the subject continuously or intermittently.
- the possibility that a more comfortable awakening can be obtained increases.
