Description

ウインドシールドガラス支持構造
 本発明は、例えば、自動車等の車両に設けられるウインドシールドガラスを支持するためのウインドシールドガラス支持構造に関する。
 例えば、特許文献1には、閉断面で剛性を有するカウルリインフォースメント1からウインドシールドガラス2の下端縁部に向かって延設されたウインドシールドサポートパネル3を備えるウインドシールドガラス支持構造4が開示されている(図24参照)。このウインドシールドサポートパネル3は、ウインドシールドガラス2との離間角度が鋭角となるように、車両前方上側に向かって上り傾斜に配設されている。
 特許文献1では、ウインドシールドガラス2の下部に対し前方斜め上方からの外力が作用した場合、ウインドシールドサポートパネル3が車両前方下側に向かって容易に変形する(図24中の2点鎖線参照)、としている。

 しかしながら、特許文献1に開示されたウインドシールドガラス支持構造4では、図24に示されるように、例えば、外力Fが前方斜め方向でウインドシールドサポートパネル3の面と同一方向から入力される場合(外力Fとウインドシールドサポートパネル3の軸線とが同軸となるように外力Fが入力される場合)、閉断面で剛性を有するカウルリインフォースメント1によって支持されるウインドシールドサポートパネル3に反力Rが発生する。
 従って、特許文献1に開示されたウインドシールドガラス支持構造では、外力Fと反力Rとが相互に対向して互いに打ち消しあうようになり、ウインドシールドサポートパネル3が車両前方下側に向かって変形することが困難となる。この結果、特許文献1に開示されたウインドシールドガラス支持構造4では、外力Fの入力角度によって外力Fによる衝撃荷重を吸収できない場合がある。
 本発明は、前記の点に鑑みてなされたものであり、外力がウインドシールドガラスの外面に対して任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することが可能なウインドシールドガラス支持構造を提供することを目的とする。
 前記の目的を達成するために、本発明は、クロスメンバからウインドシールドガラスの下端に向けて延設するウインドシールドサポートパネルと、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの先端から前記ウインドシールドガラスの下部側面に沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜するガラス支持部材と、を備え、前記ガラス支持部材は、前記ウインドシールドガラスの外面に外力が付与されたときに変形可能に設けられることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ガラス支持部材を、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの先端からウインドシールドガラスの下部側面に沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜するように設けることで、例えば、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の外面に付与される任意の角度の外力に対してガラス支持部材が変形して、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 換言すると、本発明では、外力と相互に対向して互いに打ち消しあう反力の発生を好適に回避することができるため、外力が車両前方から任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力による衝撃荷重を好適に吸収することができる。
 また、本発明は、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルに、車幅方向に沿って延在する複数の稜線が形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ウインドシールドサポートパネルが車幅方向に延在する複数の稜線を有することで、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの剛性が高まり、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性を向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラスの振動を低減することができる。
 この場合、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの根元部が比較的剛性を有するクロスメンバによって支持されているため、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性をより一層向上させることができる。
 さらに、本発明は、車幅方向に沿った前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの両端部に、それぞれ隆起部が設けられ、前記複数の稜線は、前記両端部の前記隆起部の間に形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの左右両端部に隆起部がそれぞれ設けられていると共に、この隆起部の間に複数の連続して形成されているため、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの剛性を高め、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性をさらに向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラスの振動をさらに低減することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、車幅方向に沿った前記ガラス支持部材の両端部が、前記隆起部の上面にそれぞれ結合されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、車幅方向に沿ったガラス支持部材の両端部が隆起部の上面に結合されるため、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性をさらに向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラスの振動をさらに低減することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ガラス支持部材が、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルとの結合部から車両前方に向かって延出した排水溝を備えることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、仮に、ウインドシールドガラスの下端外面とカウルトップとの間に介装されたシール部材から水(例えば、雨水や洗車時の水)が漏出する場合であっても、排水溝によってシール部材から漏出した水を外部に排水することができる。このため、本発明では、漏出した水がエンジンルームに流れ込むことを好適に回避することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ウインドシールドガラスの車両前方には、カウルトップが設けられ、前記排水溝の車両前方側の先端は、前記カウルトップの仕切り壁によって閉塞されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、カウルトップの仕切り壁が排水溝の先端に当接して排水溝を含む空間部を閉塞することができるため、比較的多量の水を排水することができる。換言すると、排水溝の先端で排水溝よりも上方に位置するカウルトップの仕切り壁を設けることにより、排水溝を含む空間部の容積がその分だけ増大して比較的多量の水を排水することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、車幅方向に沿った前記排水溝の両端部は、車両の左右側に設けられた吸気通路に接続されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、車幅方向に沿った排水溝の両端部が左右の吸気通路に接続されるため、この吸気通路を利用して水を外部に排水することができ、排水構造を簡素化することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記カウルトップが、カウル隆起部を有し、車幅方向に沿った前記カウル隆起部の両端側には、前記吸気通路を形成するダンパベースサポートがそれぞれ設けられ、前記カウルトップは、前記ダンパベースサポートに支持されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、カウル隆起部の両端側が吸気通路を形成するダンパベースサポートによって支持されているため、例えば、カウル隆起部を下方から支持する車体側部材が無くても、カウル隆起部の上方から斜め上方から付与される外力に対して十分な反力を発生させて潰れることにより、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記吸気通路が、車両前方に向かって前記吸気通路を構成する上下の高さ寸法が減少するように延在し、前記吸気通路は、前記クロスメンバから車両前方に延在し且つ車両上下方向に配置された前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記隆起部及び前記ダンパベースサポートと、前記ダンパベースサポートと前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルとの間に装着される前記カウルトップとによって形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、このように構成されることで、十分な吸気量を確保することができると共に、例えば、外力に対して吸気通路を構成する各部材が容易に変形して、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記隆起部に、前記クロスメンバの上壁と連続する補強パネルが配設されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの左右隆起部が、クロスメンバの上部フランジと連続する補強パネルを備えているため、クロスメンバの閉断面をフロントピラーまでほぼ延長することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルは、中央部と、前記中央部の車幅方向両端部から延設される左右一対の隆起部と、を備え、前記左右一対の隆起部及び前記ガラス支持部材によって前記ウインドシールドガラスの下端部が支持されており、前記中央部及び前記ガラス支持部材は、側面視で第1のくの字断面を構成しており、前記隆起部の下方には、ワイパを駆動するワイパ駆動装置が収容されており、前記隆起部の平面視で前記ワイパ駆動装置よりも車幅方向中央側には、脆弱部が形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ガラス支持部材を、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの中央部とくの字形状を構成するように設けることで、例えば、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の外面に付与される任意の角度の外力に対してガラス支持部材が変形して、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 換言すると、本発明では、外力と相互に対向して互いに打ち消しあう反力の発生を好適に回避することができるため、外力が車両前方から任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力による衝撃荷重を好適に吸収することができる。
 また、本発明では、左右隆起部の平面視でワイパ駆動装置よりも車幅方向中央側に脆弱部を設けることで、衝突荷重がワイパ駆動装置150に達してワイパ駆動装置150による反力が発生することを防ぐことができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記中央部と前記ガラス支持部材との間に架設される反力発生部材を備え、前記反力発生部材は、前記第1のくの字断面とは逆方向の第2のくの字断面を呈することを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、中央部とガラス支持部材との間に反力発生部材を設けることで、変形時の中央部による反力を左右隆起部による反力と均等化させることができ、衝突荷重の吸収性能をより高めることができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ガラス支持部材が、前記左右一対の隆起部の上面に結合されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、車幅方向に沿ったガラス支持部材の両端部が隆起部の上面に結合されるため、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性をさらに向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラスの振動をさらに低減することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ガラス支持部材の前記隆起部との結合部よりも車幅方向中央側には、脆弱部が形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ガラス支持部材に脆弱部を設けることで、ガラス支持部材の変形を容易とし、左右隆起部近傍における衝突荷重の吸収性能をより高めることができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ガラス支持部材が、前記隆起部との結合部から車両前方に向かって延出した排水溝を備えることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、仮に、ウインドシールドガラスの下端外面とカウルトップとの間に介装されたシール部材から水(例えば、雨水や洗車時の水)が漏出する場合であっても、排水溝によってシール部材から漏出した水を外部に排水することができる。このため、本発明では、漏出した水がエンジンルームに流れ込むことを好適に回避することができる。
 さらにまた、本発明は、前記ウインドシールドガラスの車両前方には、カウルトップが設けられ、前記排水溝の車両前方側の先端は、前記カウルトップの仕切り壁によって閉塞されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、カウルトップの仕切り壁が排水溝の先端に当接して排水溝を含む空間部を閉塞することができるため、比較的多量の水を排水することができる。換言すると、排水溝の先端で排水溝よりも上方に位置するカウルトップの仕切り壁を設けることにより、排水溝を含む空間部の容積がその分だけ増大して比較的多量の水を排水することができる。
 また、本発明の車両前部構造は、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記中央部には、車幅方向に沿って延在する複数の稜線が形成されることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ウインドシールドサポートパネルが車幅方向に延在する複数の稜線を有することで、ウインドシールドサポートパネルの剛性が高まり、ウインドシールドガラスの下端部の支持剛性を向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラスの振動を低減することができる。
 本発明では、外力がウインドシールドガラスの外面に対して任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力による衝撃荷重を吸収することが可能なウインドシールドガラス支持構造を得ることができる。

 次に、本発明の実施形態について、適宜図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。なお、各図中に矢印で示される、「前後」及び「上下」は、車両の前後方向及び上下方向を示し、「左右」は、運転席から見た左右方向(車幅方向)をそれぞれ示している。
<第一の実施形態>
 図2に示されるように、本発明のウインドシールドガラス支持構造(車両前部構造)が適用された車両10Aは、車幅方向に沿って延在する両端部が左右のアッパメンバ12a、12b(図1参照)に連結されて比較的に剛性を有するクロスメンバ14と、クロスメンバ14からウインドシールドガラス(フロントガラス)16の下端16aに向けて延設するウインドシールドサポートパネル18と、接着剤20を介してウインドシールドガラス16の下端側に接着されてウインドシールドガラス16の下端部を支持するガラス支持部材24と、ウインドシールドガラス16の前方に配置されるカウルトップ26(図1参照)とを備える。なお、図2中において、参照数字64は、図示しないパワープラントルームの上面を遮蔽するフード、参照数字69は、フード64の内壁とカウルトップ26との間をシールするシール部材をそれぞれ示している。また、図1中では、フード64及びウインドシールドガラス16の図示を省略している。
 図2に示されるように、クロスメンバ14は、縦断面が略L字状を呈する本体部28と、本体部28に連続し車幅方向に沿って延在する上部フランジ28a及び下部フランジ28bとを有する。このクロスメンバ14の下部フランジ28bと、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の後端フランジ30bと、ダッシュロアパネル32の上部フランジ34との三者は、例えば、溶接等の接合手段によって一体的に結合される。また、クロスメンバ14の上部フランジ28aは、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の側壁に接合され、クロスメンバ14及びウインドシールドサポートパネル18によって略矩形状の閉断面36が形成される。
 ウインドシールドサポートパネル18は、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端側に配置される部材である。車幅方向に沿ったウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右両端部には、所定間隔離間して配置される左隆起部38a及び右隆起部38bが設けられる(図4参照)。この左右隆起部38a、38bの間には、車幅方向に沿って延在し、車両前後方向の縦断面において折れ線で形成される第1~第3稜線40a~40cが設けられる(図2及び図4参照)。また、右隆起部38bの車両後方側には、略矩形状の開口からなり、図示しないブロアに接続されるブロア開口部42が形成される(図10(a)参照)。第1稜線40aは、左右の内傾斜部103の下端縁の前後方向中央部間に延びる山型の稜線である。第2稜線40bは、左右の内傾斜部103の下端縁の前端部間に延びる谷型の稜線である。第3稜線40cは、左右の内傾斜部103の上端縁の前端部間に延びる山型の稜線である。
 換言すると、第1~第3稜線40a~40cは、その両端が左右隆起部38a、38bに連続し左右隆起部38a、38bよって支持されることで、折れ難くなって剛性を高めることができる。また、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の第1稜線40aの近傍部位が、比較的に剛性を有するクロスメンバ14の上部フランジ28aに下方側から結合されて支持されることで(図2参照)、より一層剛性を高めることができる。
 また、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38bの内方には、クロスメンバ14の上部フランジ(上壁)28aと連続し車幅方向の端部のアッパメンバインナパネル76、76(図9参照、但し、一方は図示せず))まで延在する補強パネル46a、46bが設けられる(図7参照)。この補強パネル46a、46bは、ブロア開口部42に連通する長円状開口部48を有する。補強パネル46a、46bの上端縁部49は、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38bの内壁に結合され、補強パネル46a、46bの下端縁部51は、クロスメンバ14の上部フランジ28aに結合される(図6参照)。
 ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の前端フランジ(先端)30aは、ガラス支持部材24に結合される。ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の後端フランジ30bは、前述したように、クロスメンバ14の下部フランジ28b及びダッシュロアパネル32の上部フランジ34と結合される。車幅方向に沿ったウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右両端部は、左右のアッパメンバインナパネル76、76(図9、図10(c)参照)にそれぞれ結合される。
 ガラス支持部材24は、平面視して車幅方向に沿って延在し(図3参照)、車両前後方向の縦断面においてウインドシールドサポートパネル18の前端フランジ(先端)30aからウインドシールドガラス16の下部側面(下部内面)16bに沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜する部材からなる(図2参照)。ガラス支持部材24とウインドシールドガラス16の下部側面16aとは、所定のクリアランスを介して平行乃至略平行に配設される。
 車幅方向に沿ったガラス支持部材24の両端部には、ボルト等の締結部材によってウインドシールドサポートパネル18を締結(結合)するためのカウルトップ固定部52が設けられている。なお、本実施形態では、複数のボルトを用いて3点で締結しているが、これに限定されるものではない。
 車幅方向と直交するガラス支持部材24の前部には、車幅方向に沿って延在し下方側に向かって窪む排水溝54が設けられる。車幅方向と直交するガラス支持部材24の排水溝54の後部は、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の前部と重畳し、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の前端フランジ30a上面と結合することで結合部56が形成される(図2参照)。なお、この結合部56は、溶接等によって接合される場合の他、単に当接している状態も含まれる。
 図2に示されるように、排水溝54は、縦断面が円弧状に形成され、車両前後方向において、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18との結合部56から前方に向かって延出するように設けられる。結合部56から前方に向かって延出する排水溝54の先端フランジ58は、カウルトップ26の後記する仕切り壁60に当接することで、排水溝54が閉塞される。さらに、車幅方向に沿った排水溝54の両端部は、車両の左右側に設けられた後記する吸気通路62に接続される。
 カウルトップ26は、車幅方向に沿って延在し、例えば、樹脂製部材で構成される。図1に示されるように、このカウルトップ26は、車幅方向に沿った左右両端部に位置する左右の外気吸気口66a、66bと、平面視して矩形状からなり左右の外気吸気口66a、66bの間に設けられるカウル隆起部68と、カウルトップ26の上面から垂下しシール部材70を介して排水溝54の先端フランジ58と当接する仕切り壁60(図2参照)とを有する。また、車両前後方向に沿ったカウルトップ26の後端と、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端側の外面との間には、シール部材71が介装される。なお、ガラス支持部材24の排水溝54に導入された水は、車両10の左右端部側に配置された後記する左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bの上面に流通し、この左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bからアッパメンバインナパネル76の開口部78に排水される(図9参照)。
 カウル隆起部68の両端側の下方には、図3及び図7に示されるように、上面で吸気通路62を形成する左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bがそれぞれ配設される。カウルトップ26は、車幅方向において左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bによって支持されている(図8参照)。左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bは、水平方向に沿って所定距離だけ離間して配置され、左右ダンパベース74a、74bの上面に結合されて左右ダンパベース74a、74bによって支持されている(図9参照)。
 吸気通路62は、ブロア開口部42(図10(a)参照)で合流する第1通路と第2通路とによって構成される。第1通路は、カウルトップ26の前方右側に配置された外気吸気口66bから導入されたエアが、右側のダンパベースサポート72bの上面を流通し、ブロア開口部42から図示しないブロア側に向かって導出される(図6参照)。第2通路は、カウルトップ26の前方左側に配置された外気通気口66aから導入されたエアが、左側のダンパベースサポート72aの上面を流通し、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18とクロスメンバ14との間で形成される閉断面36(図2参照)により車幅方向の左側から右側に向かってさらに流通した後、ブロア開口部42から図示しないブロアに向かって導出される。
 また、吸気通路62は、車両前方に向かって吸気通路62を構成する上下の高さ寸法が減少するように延在する(図6参照)。さらに、吸気通路62は、クロスメンバ14から車両前方に延在し且つ車両上下方向に配置されたウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38b及びダンパベースサポート72a、72bと、ダンパベースサポート72a、72bとウインドシールドサポートパネル18との間に装着されるカウルトップ26とによって形成される(図6参照)。
 なお、左右のアッパメンバインナパネル76、76は、図示しないアッパメンバ補強板を介して左右のアッパメンバ12a、12bと結合される。左右のアッパメンバ12a、12bの後方には、斜め上方に向かって立ち上がるフロントピラー80が結合される(図9参照)。
 本実施形態に係るウインドシールドガラス支持構造が適用された車両10Aは、基本的に以上のように構成されるものであり、次にその作用効果について説明する。
 本実施形態では、図13に示されるように、ガラス支持部材24を、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の先端(前端フランジ30a)からウインドシールドガラス16の下部側面16bに沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜するように設けることで、例えば、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の外面に付与される任意の角度の外力F11、F12、F13に対してガラス支持部材24が変形して(図13中の2点鎖線参照)、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 なお、図13中では、ガラス支持部材24の軸線に対して直交する方向から入力される外力をF11とし、この外力F11から水平方向側に傾斜した方向から入力される外力をF12とし、鉛直下方向に向かって入力される外力をF13として例示しているが、ウインドシールドガラス16の外面に対して付与されるこれらの外力Fの入力角度は、外力F11~F13の角度に限定されるものではない。
 換言すると、本実施形態では、外力Fと相互に対向して互いに打ち消しあう反力R(図24参照)の発生を好適に回避することができるため、外力Fがウインドシールドガラス16の外面に対して任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を好適に吸収することができる。
 また、本実施形態では、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18が車幅方向に延在する第1~第3稜線40a~40cを有することで(図2及び図4参照)、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の剛性が高まり、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の支持剛性を向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラス16の振動を低減することができる。
 この場合、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の根元部が比較的剛性を有するクロスメンバ14によって支持されているため(図2参照)、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の支持剛性をより一層向上させることができる。
 さらに、本実施形態では、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右両端部側に左隆起部38a及び右隆起部38bが設けられていると共に、この左右隆起部38a、38bの間に第1~第3稜線40a~40cが連続して形成されているため(図4参照)、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の剛性を高め、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の支持剛性をさらに向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラス16の振動をさらに低減することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、車幅方向に沿ったガラス支持部材24の両端部が左右隆起部38a、38bの上面に結合されているため(図3参照)、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の支持剛性をさらに向上させると共に、ウインドシールドガラス16の振動をさらに低減することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、ガラス支持部材24がウインドシールドサポートパネル18との結合部56から前方に延出した部位に排水溝54が設けられている(図5参照)。仮に、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端外面とカウルトップ26との間に介装されたシール部材70から水(例えば、雨水や洗車時の水)が漏出する場合であっても、この排水溝54によってシール部材70から漏出した水を左右に排水することができる。このため、漏出した水がエンジンルームに流れ込むことを好適に回避することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、シール部材70を介してカウルトップ26の仕切り壁60が排水溝54の先端フランジ58に当接して排水溝54を含む空間部を閉塞することができるため(図5参照)、比較的多量の水を排水することができる。換言すると、排水溝54の先端で排水溝54よりも上方に位置するカウルトップ26の仕切り壁60を設けることにより、排水溝54を含む空間部の容積がその分だけ増大して比較的多量の水を排水することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、車幅方向に沿った排水溝54の両端部が左右の吸気通路62(第1通路及び第2通路)に接続されるため(図6~図9参照)、この吸気通路62を利用して水を外部に排水することができ、排水構造を簡素化することができる。なお、図8は、ガラス支持部材24及び左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bを底面側から見た斜視図であり、排水溝54に導入された水が左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bの上面側に向かって排水される状態を破線で示している。
 すなわち、ガラス支持部材24の排水溝54に導入された水は、車両10の左右端部側に配置された左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bの上面に流通し(図9の矢印参照)、この左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bからアッパメンバインナパネル76の開口部78(図9参照)に排水され、さらに、図示しないホイールハウス内に落下することで排出される。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、カウル隆起部68の両端側が吸気通路62を形成するダンパベースサポート72a、72bによって支持されているため(図11参照)、例えば、カウル隆起部68を下方から支持する車体側部材が無くても、カウル隆起部68の上方から斜め上方から付与される図示しない外力Fに対して十分な反力を発生させて潰れることにより、外力F4による衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、上下の高さ寸法が車両前方に向かって減少するように吸気通路62が延在している(図6参照)。また、吸気通路62は、クロスメンバ14から車両前方に延在し且つ車両上下方向に配置されたウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38b及び左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bと、左右ダンパベースサポート72a、72bとウインドシールドサポートパネル18との間に装着されるカウルトップ26とによって形成されている。本実施形態では、このように構成されることで、十分な吸気量を確保することができると共に、例えば、図示しない外力Fに対して吸気通路62を構成する各部材が容易に変形して、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 さらにまた、本実施形態では、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38bが、クロスメンバ14の上部フランジ28aと連続する補強パネル46a、46bを備えているため(図6、図7参照)、クロスメンバ14の閉断面36をフロントピラー80までほぼ延長することができる(図12参照)。
<第二の実施形態>
 続いて、本発明の第二の実施形態に係るウインドシールドガラス支持構造(車両前部構造)が適用された車両について、第一の実施形態に係る車両10Aとの相違点を中心に説明する。
 図14、図16、図17及び図18に示されるように、本実施形態に係るウインドシールドガラス支持構造が適用された車両10Bにおいて、左右隆起部38a、38bの下方には、図示しないワイパを駆動するためのワイパ駆動装置150が収容されている。ワイパ駆動装置150は、ワイパモータ等から構成される。また、図14、図16及び図17に示されるように、左右隆起部38a、38bのそれぞれは、三角錐形状を呈しており、後方にいくに従い上がる傾斜面を呈する前傾斜部101と、前傾斜部101の後端部から延設されて後方にいくに従い下がる傾斜面を呈する後傾斜部102と、前傾斜部101及び後傾斜部102の内端部から延設されて車幅方向内方にいくに従い下がる傾斜面を呈する内傾斜部103と、を備える。
 図14、図16、図17及び図19に示されるように、左右隆起部38a、38bのそれぞれには、平面視でワイパ駆動装置150よりも車幅方向中央側に第1脆弱部103a及び第2脆弱部103bが形成される。
 各脆弱部103a、103bは、衝撃荷重による変形を促進するための部位であって、本実施形態では、内傾斜部103に形成される。第1脆弱部103aは、正方形の孔部であり、第2脆弱部103bは、第1脆弱部103aよりも車幅方向中央側で左右方向に延びる矩形の孔部である。
 図15に示されるように、ガラス支持部材24とウインドシールドサポートパネル18の中央部39(詳細には、中央部39の第3稜線40cから第2稜線40bまでの部分)とは、側面視でくの字断面(第1のくの字断面)を構成している。
 図14、図16及び図19に示されるように、ガラス支持部材24の左右隆起部38a、38bとの結合部よりも車幅方向中央側には、脆弱部24a、24aが形成される。脆弱部24a、24aは、衝撃荷重による変形を促進するための部位であって、本実施形態では、ガラス支持部材24の後端部から前方へ延びる切欠きであり、平面視で傾斜部103と重なる位置に形成される。
 図15及び図20に示されるように、中央部39とガラス支持部材24との間には、左右一対の反力発生部材110、110が架設される。なお、図15及び後記する図21では、説明の便宜上、端面の奥にある反力発生部材110を描いている。
 反力発生部材110は、平面視で前記第1のくの字断面とは逆方向のくの字断面(第2のくの字断面)を呈する本体部111と、本体部111の上下端部に設けられるフランジ部112、112と、を備える。上端部側のフランジ部112は、ガラス支持部材24に結合されており、下端部側のフランジ部112は、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の中央部39に結合される。かかる反力発生部材110は、ガラス支持部材24が外力によって変形した場合に反力を発生させる。
 結合部56の車幅方向両端部は、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38bの上面、本実施形態では、前傾斜部101の上面にも形成される。すなわち、ガラス支持部材24は、左右隆起部38a、38bの上面にも結合される。なお、この結合部56は、溶接等によって接合される。

 本実施形態に係るウインドシールドガラス支持構造が適用された車両10Bは、基本的に以上のように構成されるものであり、次にその作用効果について説明する。
 ここで、図24に示される従来のウインドシールドガラス支持構造4では、ワイパを駆動するワイパ駆動装置(ワイパモータ)6は、カウルアッパ5の下方に収容されている。ここで、外力Fがカウルアッパ5に入力される場合には、衝撃荷重がワイパ駆動装置6に達し、ワイパ駆動装置6による大きい反力が発生するおそれがある。
 これに対し、本実施形態では、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の中央部39においては、図21に示されるように、ガラス支持部材24を、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の先端(前端フランジ30a)からウインドシールドガラス16の下部側面16bに沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜するように設けることで、例えば、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の外面に付与される任意の角度の外力F21、F22、F23に対してガラス支持部材24が変形して(図15→図21)、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。
 また、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の左右隆起部38a、38bにおいては、図14に示されるように、左右隆起部38a、38bの平面視でワイパ駆動装置150よりも車幅方向中央側に各脆弱部103a、103bを形成することで、例えば、ウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の外面に付与される任意の角度の外力F21、F22、F23(図21参照)による衝突荷重がガラス支持部材24を介して左右隆起部38a、38b(詳細には、内斜面部103)に達したとしても、ガラス支持部材24及び左右隆起部38a、38bの内斜面部103がワイパ駆動装置150への干渉を避けるように変形して(図22→図23、隆起部38b側のみ図示)、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を吸収することができる。図22及び図23では、説明の便宜上、端面の奥にある前傾斜部101、後傾斜部102の後端部及びワイパ駆動装置150を二点鎖線で描いている。ここで、ガラス支持部材24と内傾斜部とは、前記第1のくの字断面と同一方向のくの字断面を構成している。また、各脆弱部103a、103bは、変形時の衝撃荷重の吸収性能を高めるためのものであって、第1脆弱部103aは、変形時に衝撃荷重が前傾斜部101へ伝達されるのを防ぐ部分であり、第2脆弱部103bは、変形時に車幅方向に延びる谷となる部分である。
 また、図21に示されるように、中央部39とガラス支持部材24との間に反力発生部材110を設けることで、変形時の中央部39による反力を左右隆起部38a、38bによる反力と均等化させることができ、衝突荷重の吸収性能をより高めることができる。なお、本実施形態における中央部39による反力及び左右隆起部38a、38bによる反力は、図16に示される反力Rと比べて十分に小さい。
 また、図14に示されるように、ガラス支持部材24に脆弱部24a、24aを形成することで、ガラス支持部材24の変形を容易とし、左右隆起部38a、38b近傍における衝突荷重の吸収性能をより高めることができる。
 なお、図21及び図23中では、ガラス支持部材24の軸線に対して直交する方向から入力される外力をF21とし、この外力F21から水平方向側に傾斜した方向から入力される外力をF22とし、鉛直下方向に向かって入力される外力をF23として例示しているが、ウインドシールドガラス16の外面に対して付与されるこれらの外力Fの入力角度は、外力F21~F23の角度に限定されるものではない。
 換言すると、本実施形態では、外力Fと相互に対向して互いに打ち消しあう大きい反力R(図24参照)の発生を好適に回避することができるため、外力Fがウインドシールドガラス16の外面に対して任意の角度で入力された場合であっても、外力Fによる衝撃荷重を好適に吸収し、衝撃荷重がワイパ駆動装置150に達してワイパ駆動装置150による反力が発生することを防ぐことができる。
 詳細には、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の中央部39及び左右隆起部38a、38bの内斜面部103の上方でウインドシールドガラス16の下端部の外面に外力Fが付与された場合には、ガラス支持部材24とウインドシールドサポートパネル18の内斜面部103が積極的に変形して衝突荷重を吸収し、ウインドシールドサポートパネル18の前斜面部101の変形を抑制し、衝突荷重がワイパ駆動装置150に達してワイパ駆動装置150による反力が発生することを防ぐことができる。

Claims (17)

  1.  クロスメンバからウインドシールドガラスの下端に向けて延設するウインドシールドサポートパネルと、
     前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの先端から前記ウインドシールドガラスの下部側面に沿って車両後方且つ車両上方に傾斜するガラス支持部材と、
     を備え、
     前記ガラス支持部材は、前記ウインドシールドガラスの外面に外力が付与されたときに変形可能に設けられることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  2.  請求項1記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルには、車幅方向に沿って延在する複数の稜線が形成されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  3.  請求項2記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     車幅方向に沿った前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの両端部には、それぞれ隆起部が設けられ、
     前記複数の稜線は、前記両端部の前記隆起部の間に形成されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  4.  請求項3項記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     車幅方向に沿った前記ガラス支持部材の両端部は、前記隆起部の上面にそれぞれ結合されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  5.  請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ガラス支持部材は、前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルとの結合部から車両前方に向かって延出した排水溝を備えることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  6.  請求項5記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ウインドシールドガラスの車両前方には、カウルトップが設けられ、
     前記排水溝の車両前方側の先端は、前記カウルトップの仕切り壁によって閉塞されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  7.  請求項6記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     車幅方向に沿った前記排水溝の両端部は、車両の左右側に設けられた吸気通路に接続されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  8.  請求項7記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記カウルトップは、カウル隆起部を有し、
     車幅方向に沿った前記カウル隆起部の両端側には、前記吸気通路を形成するダンパベースサポートがそれぞれ設けられ、
     前記カウルトップは、前記ダンパベースサポートに支持されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  9.  請求項7又は請求項8記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記吸気通路は、車両前方に向かって前記吸気通路を構成する上下の高さ寸法が減少するように延在し、
     前記吸気通路は、前記クロスメンバから車両前方に延在し且つ車両上下方向に配置された前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記隆起部及び前記ダンパベースサポートと、前記ダンパベースサポートと前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルとの間に装着される前記カウルトップとによって形成されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  10.  請求項3乃至請求項9のいずれか1項記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記隆起部には、前記クロスメンバの上壁と連続する補強パネルが配設されることを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  11.  請求項1記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルは、中央部と、前記中央部の車幅方向両端部から延設される左右一対の隆起部と、を備え、
     前記左右一対の隆起部及び前記ガラス支持部材によって前記ウインドシールドガラスの下端部が支持されており、
     前記中央部及び前記ガラス支持部材は、側面視で第1のくの字断面を構成しており、
     前記隆起部の下方には、ワイパを駆動するワイパ駆動装置が収容されており、
     前記隆起部の平面視で前記ワイパ駆動装置よりも車幅方向中央側には、脆弱部が形成される
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  12.  請求項11記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記中央部と前記ガラス支持部材との間に架設される反力発生部材を備え、
     前記反力発生部材は、前記第1のくの字断面とは逆方向の第2のくの字断面を呈する
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  13.  請求項11又は請求項12記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ガラス支持部材は、前記左右一対の隆起部の上面に結合される
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  14.  請求項13記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ガラス支持部材の前記隆起部との結合部よりも車幅方向中央側には、脆弱部が形成される
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  15.  請求項13又は請求項14記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ガラス支持部材は、前記隆起部との結合部から車両前方に向かって延出した排水溝を備える
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  16.  請求項15記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、 前記ウインドシールドガラスの車両前方には、カウルトップが設けられ、
     前記排水溝の車両前方側の先端は、前記カウルトップの仕切り壁によって閉塞される
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
  17.  請求項11乃至請求項16のいずれか1項記載のウインドシールドガラス支持構造において、
     前記ウインドシールドサポートパネルの前記中央部には、車幅方向に沿って延在する複数の稜線が形成される
     ことを特徴とするウインドシールドガラス支持構造。
