Definitions
- the present invention relates to a lens driving apparatus and method used for a digital camera or the like.
- Digital cameras, video cameras, etc. are provided with lens driving devices for focusing and zooming.
- a motor of this lens driving device there is a device that uses a voice coil motor composed of a magnet, a yoke, and a coil to increase the speed.

- Patent Document 1 two yokes having magnets are arranged at opposing positions with respect to a coil holding a lens, and a magnetic sensor is arranged as a position detecting means between these two yokes. This reduces the influence of leakage magnetic flux on the magnetic sensor.
- two driving magnetic circuits are configured by arranging two yokes so as to be parallel to at least two adjacent sides of the image sensor in the optical axis direction. Yes. The energizing direction of the coil of one drive magnetic circuit is reversed with respect to the energizing direction of the other coil on the basis of the optical axis direction, and the polarity of one magnet on the image sensor side is the image sensor of the other magnet The image sensor is shielded against the opposite polarity.
- the magnetic flux density of a magnet changes with changes in ambient temperature and aging. Therefore, when a constant drive current is passed through the coil, the magnitude of the generated electromagnetic force may vary depending on the ambient temperature and the passage of time. If the magnitude of the electromagnetic force varies, the moving speed of the lens that moves using the electromagnetic force as a thrust also varies, and the lens cannot be driven stably.
- the object to be driven is a focus lens or a variable power lens as in the lens driving methods of Patent Documents 1 and 2, there is a variation in the adjustment speed of the focus and photographing magnification, which gives the photographer a sense of incongruity.
- the magnetic flux density that the coil receives from the magnet is larger than both ends of the magnet in the optical axis direction than near the center of the magnet in the optical axis direction. It is known that the neighborhood is smaller. Therefore, when a constant drive current is passed through the coil, the electromagnetic force generated near both ends of the magnet is smaller than the electromagnetic force generated near the center of the magnet. As a result, the moving speed of the lens moving along the magnet together with the coil is slower near both ends than near the center of the magnet. With respect to this problem, it is possible to suppress fluctuations in the moving speed of the lens by limiting the moving range of the coil only to the vicinity of the center of the magnet.
