Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se a um cilindro (1) de custo reduzido que garanta excelentes condições de trabalho pelo fato de minimizar as perdas por atrito e o desgaste do componente. Para tal, um cilindro (1) de ferro fundido é submetido a um processo de acabamento com mais de uma etapa de brunimento, seguindo-se um revestimento com um filme (3) de carbono amorfo na forma de diamante (DLC) garantindo um baixo coeficiente de atrito e elevada durabilidade em qualquer tipo de motor de combustão interna, mesmo naqueles com pressões de trabalho elevada, podendo-se maior que (20 MPa) 200 bar. Adicionalmente, as vantagens da presente invenção são alcançadas por um cilindro 1 cuja superfície de trabalho, após o revestimento, tenha uma rugosidade entre Rz 0,5 µm e Rz 4,0 µm, rugosidade essa que tem como característica o fato de a rugosidade média dos vales (Rvk) ser pelo menos três vezes superior à rugosidade média dos picos (Rpk).
