Abstract
Un componente (20) automotriz se fabrica depositando un revestimiento (24) no metálico sobre una superficie de una pieza en tosco o preforma (26) de acero antes del estampado en caliente de la preforma (26) de acero. El revestimiento (24) no metálico se aplica típicamente por deposición de vapor. El revestimiento (24) no metálico se forma de una a tres capas (32) cada una que tiene una composición diferente. El revestimiento (24) no metálico incluye uno de silicio y carbono, y también puede incluir oxígeno, nitrógeno, compuestos cerámicos y carburos. El espesor total del revestimiento (24) no metálico es menor que 300 nm. Un revestimiento (30) metálico se puede aplicar a la preforma de acero antes del revestimiento (24) no metálico.
