そこで、燃料として、LNGだけでなく、重油や軽油も用い、種々の条件に応じて、LNGと重油や軽油とを適宜切り換えられるようにした構成も提案されている(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。
したがって、例えば、港湾内に入るときに航行速度が低下して低負荷航行状態に移行すると、いつでも燃料をLNG専焼から重油や軽油との混焼に切り換えられるよう、主機の制御装置では、圧縮機を作動させてLNGを昇圧し、ガスバーナの火炎を強くしている。
しかしこれでは、燃料を実際に重油や軽油との混焼に切り換えるまでの間、昇圧してガスバーナの火炎を強くした分のLNGは有効に使われることなく、LNG燃料を無駄に消費していることになる。燃料の燃焼によって発生した蒸気も有効利用されることなく無駄に排気されている。

しかも、液化燃料ガスは、供給用圧力調整弁の上流側で加圧されているのみであり、燃料油に切り換えるまでの間は、供給用圧力調整弁で減圧された液化燃料ガスが推進用主機に供給されるため、液化燃料ガスの無駄な消費を抑えることができる。
このとき、循環ラインに、ガス供給ライン内の液化燃料ガスの圧力を調整するライン圧力調整弁を備えるのが好ましい。
そこで、ガス供給ラインを流れる液化燃料ガスを冷却する冷却手段をさらに備えるのが好ましい。このような冷却手段としては、例えば、ガス状態の液化燃料ガスに、液状態の液化燃料ガスを吹き付けることができる。もちろん、これ以外の手法を用いても良い。
しかも、液化燃料ガスは、供給用圧力調整弁の上流側で加圧されているのみであり、燃料油に切り換えるまでの間は、供給用圧力調整弁で減圧された液化燃料ガスが推進用主機に供給されるため、液化燃料ガスの無駄な消費を抑えることができる。
その結果、無駄な燃料消費を抑えつつ、LNGから重油や軽油への燃料の切り換えを確実に行うことができる。
以下、本発明の第1実施形態について、図1を用いて説明する。

戻りライン12には、LNG供給ライン11A内において、供給圧力調整弁32の上流側におけるガス圧力を調整するライン圧力制御弁35が設けられており、その開閉・開度は、制御装置50により制御される。
戻りライン12においては、供給圧力調整弁32の開度に応じて決まる供給圧力調整弁32の上流側におけるガス圧に応じて余剰分となるガスを、圧縮機30の下流側の分岐部12aからカーゴタンク20の出口側の合流部12bに循環させる。
このミストセパレータ36には、容器36a内に、LNG供給ライン11Aのボイルオフガスを冷却するためのスプレーノズル(不図示)が設けられている。このスプレーノズルには、LNG液供給ライン13を介し、カーゴタンク20内の液相に配置されたスプレーポンプ38が接続されている。これにより、スプレーポンプ38でカーゴタンク20内から汲み上げられたLNG液が、LNG液供給ライン13を介し、スプレーノズルから容器36a内のボイルオフガスに吹き付け可能とされている。
港湾外を定常航行する場合等においては、主機100に対し、ボイルオフガスを燃料として供給する。この場合、燃料供給装置10Aでは、LNG供給ライン11Aに、カーゴタンク20で発生したボイルオフガスが供給される。このボイルオフガスは、ミストセパレータ36において、ガス中に含まれる液相成分が除去された後、圧縮機30に送り込まれる。
圧縮機30において、ボイルオフガスは昇圧加温され、供給ヒータ31においてさらに昇温される。
そして、このボイルオフガスは、供給圧力調整弁32において流量および圧力が調整された後、燃料として主機100へと送り込まれる。
なお、このモードにおいては、ライン圧力制御弁35を閉じておき、戻りライン12を介してのボイルオフガスの循環を行わない。
港湾内を低速航行する場合等においては、ボイルオフガスと重油や軽油との混焼状態で航行を行う。具体的には、主機100に対し、LNG供給ライン11Aを介して供給されるボイルオフガスとともに、図示しない燃料タンクから、燃料油供給ライン51を介し、重油や軽油を供給する。なお、この重油や軽油の供給については、いかなる構成を用いても良く、詳細な説明を省略する。
港湾外から港湾内に入り、LNGによる航行モードである状態で、主機100の負荷が定常航行状態(第一のレベル)から、航行速度が低下して主機100の負荷が定常航行状態よりも低い低負荷航行状態(第二のレベル)となったときには、LNGによる航行モードからLNGと重油や軽油との混焼による航行モードに切り換えるに先立ち、LNG供給ライン11Aにおけるボイルオフガスの圧力を高める制御を行う。
これには、制御装置50において、航行速度や、圧力計34における主機100への供給ガス圧等をモニタリングしておき、これらが予め定めたしきい値を下回ったことを検知したときに、供給圧力調整弁32を絞る。すると、LNG供給ライン11A内におけるボイルオフガスのガス圧が高まる。このときのLNG供給ライン11A内におけるボイルオフガスのガス圧は、例えば10~40kPaGとなるようにする。この状態で、供給圧力調整弁32の下流側、つまり主機100に供給されるガス圧は、例えば5kPaGとされる。
そして、ガス供給ライン11Aにより主機100にボイルオフガスを供給している航行モードから、ボイルオフガスとともに燃料油供給ライン51により主機100に重油や軽油を供給する航行モードに移行するときには、制御装置50では、航行モードの切換操作が行われたことを示す信号を受け取り次第、供給圧力調整弁32を開く。すると、供給圧力調整弁32の上流側のLNG供給ライン11A内のガス圧は10~40kPaGと高められているため、主機100に供給されるボイルオフガスのガス圧が瞬時に高まり、ボイラ内のバーナからの燃焼炎を大きく形成することができる。これによって、重油や軽油用のバーナの確実な着火、確実な燃料の切り換えが行える。
また、既存の船舶に対しても、戻りライン12、ライン圧力制御弁35等を追設、制御装置50の制御プログラムの変更等、最低限の改変を施せばよいため、低コストで上記効果を得ることができる。
次に、本発明の第2実施形態について説明する。以下の説明においては、上記第1実施形態で示したのと共通する構成については、同符号を付してその説明を省略する。
図2に示すように、本実施形態における燃料供給装置10Bには、LNGを貯蔵するカーゴタンク20と、カーゴタンク20で発生したLNGのボイルオフガスを主機100の図示しないボイラへ供給するLNG供給ライン(ガス供給ライン)11Bと、燃料油供給ライン51と、が備えられている。
この気化器61によって加熱されて得られたLNGガスは、供給ヒータ31の上流側においてLNG供給ライン11B内のボイルオフガスに合流される。尚、気化器として例えばベーパライザを用いることができる。
これには、制御装置50において、航行速度や、圧力計34における主機100への供給ガス圧等をモニタリングしておき、これらが予め定めたしきい値を下回ったことを検知したときに、ベーパライザ61を作動させる。すると、ベーパライザ61によって加熱されて得られたLNGガスが、供給ヒータ31の上流側においてLNG供給ライン11B内のボイルオフガスに合流される。これにより、ボイルオフガスの圧力が高められる。このときのLNG供給ライン11B内におけるボイルオフガスのガス圧は、例えば20~40kPaGとなるようにする。この状態で、供給圧力調整弁32の下流側、つまり主機100に供給されるガス圧は、例えば5kPaGとされる。
このように、ボイルオフガスの圧力を高めておけば、燃料がLNGから重油や軽油に切り換えるときに、制御装置50により供給圧力調整弁32を開けば、点火のための燃焼炎を瞬時に大きく形成することができ、確実な着火、確実な燃料の切り換えが行える。
また、既存の船舶においても、ハードウェア的には、上記と同様の構成部品を備えている。したがって、制御装置50の制御プログラムを変更して、最低限の改変を施せばよいため、低コストで上記効果を得ることができる。
さらに、上記第1実施形態と、第2実施形態の構成を組み合わせることも可能である。すなわち、図1に示した構成に、図2に示したベーパライザ61を併せて備えるのである。
これ以外にも、本発明の主旨を逸脱しない範囲内であれば、他のいかなる構成を採用しても良い。

Claims (10)
- 液化燃料ガスと燃料油とを燃料として選択的に用いることのできる推進用主機と、
前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給するガス供給ラインと、
前記推進用主機に前記燃料油を供給する燃料油供給ラインと、
前記ガス供給ラインにおける前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高める昇圧手段と、
前記ガス供給ライン内の前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給する際の供給圧力を調整する供給圧力調整弁と、
前記ガス供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給している状態から前記燃料油供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記燃料油を供給する状態に移行するにあたり、前もって前記推進用主機の負荷に応じて前記昇圧手段により前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高めておき、前記供給用圧力調整弁を開いて、所定の圧力に加圧された前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給する制御装置と、を備える船舶。 - 前記昇圧手段は、
前記供給圧力調整弁の上流側に設けられ、前記ガス供給ラインを流れる前記液化燃料ガスを加圧する圧縮機と、
前記圧縮機と前記供給圧力調整弁との間の分岐部から、前記圧縮機の上流側に前記液化燃料ガスを循環させる循環ラインと、をさらに備える請求項1に記載の船舶。 - 前記循環ラインに、前記ガス供給ライン内の前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を調整するライン圧力調整弁が備えられている請求項2に記載の船舶。
- 前記圧縮機の上流側に設けられ、前記ガス供給ラインを流れる前記液化燃料ガスを冷却する冷却手段をさらに備える請求項2または3に記載の船舶。
- 前記昇圧手段は、前記供給圧力調整弁の上流側に設けられ、前記ガス供給ラインを流れる前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高める気化器を備える請求項1または2に記載の船舶。
- 前記昇圧手段は、前記液化燃料ガスを格納したタンクから前記液化燃料ガスを取出し、当該液化燃料ガスを蒸発させてガス化させ、前記ガス供給ラインに供給する請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の船舶。
- 前記制御装置は、前記推進用主機の負荷が第一のレベルにあるときには、前記昇圧手段における前記循環ラインもしくは前記気化器による前記液化燃料ガスの加圧を非実施とし、
前記推進用主機の負荷が前記第一のレベルよりも低い第二のレベルにあるときに、前記ガス供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給している状態から前記燃料油供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記燃料油を供給する状態に移行するにあたり、前もって前記循環ラインもしくは前記気化器を含む前記昇圧手段によって前記液化燃料ガスの加圧を実施する請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の船舶。 - 液化燃料ガスと燃料油とを燃料として選択的に用いることのできる推進用主機に対し、前記液化燃料ガスを供給する燃料供給装置であって、
前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給するガス供給ラインと、
前記ガス供給ラインにおける前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高める昇圧手段と、
前記ガス供給ライン内の前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給する際の供給圧力を調整する供給圧力調整弁と、
前記ガス供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給している状態から前記燃料油供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記燃料油を供給する状態に移行するにあたり、前もって前記推進用主機の負荷に応じて前記昇圧手段により前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高めておき、前記供給用圧力調整弁を開いて、加圧された前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給する制御装置と、を備える燃料供給装置。 - 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の船舶の航行方法であって、
前記ガス供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記液化燃料ガスを供給している状態から前記燃料油供給ラインにより前記推進用主機に前記燃料油を供給する状態に移行するにあたり、前もって前記推進用主機の負荷に応じて前記昇圧手段により前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を高めておくステップと、
前記供給用圧力調整弁を開いて、加圧された前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給し、前記液化燃料ガスの火炎により前記燃料油に着火するステップと、を有する船舶の航行方法。 - 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の船舶の駆動方法であって、
前記ガス供給ラインの前記供給圧力調整弁の上流側に位置する前記液化燃料ガスの圧力を予め高めておき、加圧された前記液化燃料ガスを前記推進用主機に供給する船舶の駆動方法。
