このような散水ノズルには、内部に形成した水の流路の途中に流路を開閉する止水弁を設けるとともに、この止水弁を操作する止水操作部を外部に突出させたものもあった。
また、従来の散水ノズルには、上記の止水弁とは別体に、散水量を調整する流量調整弁を設けたものがあった。また、止水弁に流量調整弁の機能を兼ねさせたものもあった。
この回動弁体には、流路に面する筒の周面部に円周方向に向けて面積が増減する切欠部を設けており、回動弁体を回動することにより、流路に面する切欠部の面積を増減させ、切欠部を通過する水の流量を調節することができた。
しかし、この流量操作部は、前後方向に延びる軸の軸回りに回動操作するダイヤル方式であるため、グリップ部を把持している手の親指では正確な回動操作が難しかった。そのため、他方の手で流量操作部を操作することになるが、この場合には使用者の両手が散水ノズルの取扱いで塞がってしまい、園芸や清掃において不便であった。
この止水弁の回動弁体にも、周面部に開口を設けており、止水操作部をグリップ部後背上部からノズル部上部にかけて上下前後方向に回動させることにより、回動弁体が回動する。これに伴い、上記開口が流路に対して連通または遮断し、流路の開閉および流量調整を行うことができた。
しかし、この操作は、止水操作部を抑えながら親指を伸び縮みさせる動きを要するため、操作がしづらいとともに、操作に伴って散水ノズルの散水する方向が狙いから逸れることがあった。
しかし、繰り返しの使用によって、シール部材が流路の内壁との摩擦で摩耗し、耐久性に問題を生じていた。

また、ノズル本体を成形するときに、金型(雄型)を挿入用通路の口からも入れることができ、回動弁体の収容部を流路の出入口よりも大径に形成することができる。
また、回動弁体に設ける水漏れ防止用のシール部材を、挿入用通路側に1つ設けるだけで足りるため、製造コストを低減することができる。
また、ノズル本体を成形するときに、金型(雄型)を挿入用通路の口からも入れることができ、回動弁体の収容部を流路の出入口よりも大径に形成することができる。
この散水ノズル1は、園芸、農業、清掃、その他の用途において、ホースを介して水道等の給水設備の先端に接続されて散水を行う器具であって、使用者が手に持って使用するものである。
ノズル本体6は、図3に示すように、屈曲した通水パイプ7(図7)に、ホースニップル8や吐水ヘッド9を接続し、外周を覆う複数のカバーを組み付けてなるが、これらのうちいくつかについて一体に成形したものであってもよい。
また、本明細書において、略筒状とは、内部に水の流路を有する形状を広く意味し、外面、内面がともに断面真円状のものには限られず、楕円状、多角形状その他様々な形状のものを含む。
グリップ部3の基端部3aでは、ホースに取り付けられた受け具(図示せず)と連結するための凹凸やOリングを外周面に設けるとともに、その中心に給水設備からの水を導入する接続口2を開口したホースニップル8が通水パイプ7の下方に取り付けられている。
グリップ部3の向きは、ノズル部4の延在方向に対して垂直であってもよいが、図2(b)に示すように前記延在方向と垂直な向き以外の方向で、その垂直な向きから傾斜して、上方にグリップ部3の延在方向とは交差する向きに延びたものであってもよい。
吐水ヘッド9は、通水パイプ7に接続される第一部材11と、この第一部材11の先端に取り付けられ、シャワー散水口5aおよびストレート散水口5bを形成した第二部材12とからなる。
第一部材11の周面には通水パイプ7から供給された水を第二部材12側へ流すための切換口11aが形成され、第二部材12は第一部材11に対し、螺進によって前後動することができるように取り付けられている。これにより、第一部材11に対する第二部材12の位置によって、切換口11aをシャワー散水口5aまたはストレート散水口5bに連通させ、シャワー散水とストレート散水を切り換えることができる。
止水弁は流量調整弁の上流側に設けられ、通水パイプ7のグリップ部3側の流路10に配置された止水弁体13を有している。止水弁体13は、通水パイプ7に内接する有蓋円筒状に形成され、蓋の上に突起状の弁体部13aを形成している。止水弁体13の外周面の2箇所にはOリング13c、13cを配設して止水弁体13の外周を水が流れないようにするとともに、Oリング13cより上の外周面に通水口13bを形成している。通水パイプ7の基端(下方)から供給された水は、止水弁体13の内部を通過して通水口13bより外周に流出し、下流へ流れるようになっている。
通水パイプ7は、図7(c)に示すようにグリップ部3側部分の前面に開口7bを形成している。図3に示すように、縦断面L字状の弁開閉用アーム16が、一端で止水操作レバー15に当接し、他端で止水弁体13に当接し、L字状の屈曲部分を支点として通水パイプ7に回動可能に支持されているため、使用者が止水操作レバー15を握り込むと、弁開閉用アーム16を介し、コイルスプリング14の付勢力に反して止水弁体13を止水弁座7aから離間させ、通水状態にすることができる。
通水パイプ7の開口7bは常時止水弁体13の2つのOリング13c、13cの中間に位置するため、水が開口7bから通水パイプ7の外側へ漏れることはない。
図1から図3に示すように、流量調整弁は、流路中に配設され、回動することで水の流量を増減させる回動弁体17と、この回動弁体17に連動するとともにグリップ部3の後背上部から突出し、親指で操作される流量操作部材18とからなる。
切り欠き部19は、通水パイプ7の屈曲部分に配置できるように(図4(c)参照)、回動弁体17の前面を略180度に亘って一定の高さで切り欠いてなる。さらに、切り欠き部19の中央では、上部を更に半楕円状に切り欠いた半楕円切り欠き部19aを形成し、回動弁体17の回動により水の流量を増減させることができるようになっている。
また、回動弁体17の外周面には、水漏れ防止用のOリング17a(図4参照)を切り欠き部の上方に取り付けている。
なお、図4に示すように、回動弁体17の筒内径は、通水パイプ7のグリップ部3側部分の内径と略等しく設定している。本実施形態では、両者の内径をφ16.4mmに設定した。これより小さくすると水流量が不十分となり、これより大きくすると受圧が大きくなるおそれがあるためである。
また、保持用孔17bの左右では、蓋をわずかに切り欠いて、散水ノズル1の補修、分解時に使用者が回動弁体17を摘み出すことができるようにしている。
回動弁体17の材料には、PP(ポリプロピレン)、ABS(アクリロニトリルブタジエンスチレン共重合体)、POM(ポリアセタール)等を使用することができ、安価という理由から、特にPPが好ましい。本実施形態ではPPを採用している。
図6に示すように、流量操作部材18は、略円弧状に湾曲させた湾曲板18cから内周側前方に弁体保持舌片18aを突出させ、外周側後方に指かけ部18bを突出させてなる。
指かけ部18bは湾曲板18cから突出した比較的幅広な形状に形成され、その左右方向中央にグリップ部3の延在方向に延びる幅が狭い表示部18dを有する。表示部18dを指かけ部18bの中央に設けることにより、表示部18dを基準として使用者が流量調整弁の中央位置を認識しやすくなる。
これにより、流量操作部材18をグリップ部3と略平行な軸の軸回り、すなわち略左右方向に回動すると、回動弁体17が連動し、グリップ部3と略平行な軸の軸回りに回動する。
図4に示すように、流量調整弁は、通水パイプ7の開口7cまたは溝7dと弁体保持舌片18aとの当接によって、流量操作部材18の回動可能範囲が制限されている。これに代えて、回動弁体17の切り欠き部19の側縁と通水パイプ7の内壁との当接によって、回動弁体17の回動可能範囲が制限されるようにしてもよい。
流量調整弁の回動可能範囲は、流量の細かい調整ができるように大きく設定することが好ましい。ただし、回動操作時に湾曲板18cが通水パイプ7に干渉しないように、湾曲板18cに切り欠きなどの逃がし形状を設けたり湾曲板18cを短くしたりする必要があり、流量調整弁の回動可能範囲を大きくしすぎると、回動操作時に、この逃がし形状等がノズル本体6を構成するカバー等から外面に露出し(図1、図2(a)参照)、外観が悪化するとともにゴミ等が侵入するおそれもある。これらの理由により、本実施形態では流量調整弁の回動可能範囲をおよそ86度とした。
この流量調整弁では、図4(a)に示すように、流量操作部材18が回動可能範囲の中央に位置し、指かけ部18bが後方中央に位置するときに、回動弁体17の半楕円切り欠き部19aの全範囲が通水パイプ7のノズル部4側の流路10に合致する。
そのため、通水パイプ7のグリップ部3側の流路10から回動弁体17に流入し、半楕円切り欠き部19aから下流側の流路10へと流される水の流量が最大となる。
また、回動可能範囲の中央位置から、流量操作部材18を使用者から向かって右側に回動したときにも、回動弁体17が連動し、半楕円切り欠き部19aと通水パイプ7のノズル部4側の流路10との合致部分が小さくなっていき、水の流量が徐々に減少していく。図4(c)に示すように、流量操作部材18が回動可能範囲の右端(中央位置からおよそ43度)に位置するときには、半楕円切り欠き部と通水パイプのノズル部側の流路との合致部分がほとんど無くなるか全く合致せず、水の流量が最小またはゼロとなる。
グリップ部3を把持している手では、親指を左右方向に動かしやすいため、流量操作部材18の操作はきわめて容易である。また、回動操作の際にも、手の平のほとんどがグリップ部3に接したまま親指を左右に動かすことができるため、操作に伴って散水ノズル1の取り回しや狙いにブレを生じることがない。
そのため、使用者が不意に流量操作部材18の指かけ部18bを前方に押してしまっても、保持用孔17b内で弁体保持舌片18aが前方に移動するだけであり(図4(a)参照)、回動弁体17が変位したり破損したりして故障することがない。
図7(b)、図3に示すように、通水パイプ7に設けた挿入用通路20は、上方から通水パイプ7を貫通して、グリップ部3側の流路10に一直線状に連通している。図7(a)、図4(a)に示すように、前述した流量操作部材18取り付け用の開口7cと溝7dとは、ともに挿入用通路20の周壁に設けられている。

また、回動弁体17がグリップ部3と略平行な軸の軸回りに回動するため、この挿入用通路20からの水漏れを防ぐために回動弁体17に設けるシール部材(Oリング17a)が流路の上側の1つだけで足り、製造コストを低減することができる。
なお、本実施形態のように、回動弁体17の上方に挿入用通路20を塞ぐキャップ25を設けてもよい(図2から図4)。
従来は、屈曲した管を成形するためには、管の両端の口から屈曲部分まで届く2つの金型(雄型)を用いる必要があり、金型が大型化し引き抜き時のスライド量の大きかったため、金型の強度が不足したり、引き抜きに時間がかかり製造効率が悪かった。
他方、本実施形態の通水パイプ7では、挿入用通路20を設けたため、成形時に管の両端の口から引き抜く金型(雄型)のほかに、挿入用通路20の口から引き抜く金型(雄型)を用いることができて、金型一つあたりを小型化することができ、強度や製造効率を向上させることができる。
他方、本実施形態の通水パイプ7では、挿入用通路20の口から引き抜く金型により、屈曲部分の内径を両端の口の内径と同等以上に設定することができる。そのため、弁体の形状の自由度が増すとともに、流量調整弁による流路抵抗の増加を小さくすることができる。
なお、クリック感とは、抵抗感の変化や振動など、触覚への作用によって使用者に感得される感覚をいう。
図6(c)から(f)に示すように、雌部材21、21は、流量操作部材18の湾曲板18cの中央下端から突出する一対の部材であり、両者の間にノッチ24が形成されている。それぞれの雌部材21は下方に山なりに突出しており、頂部からノッチ24側への斜面は急勾配に、頂部から左右外側への斜面は緩やかに形成されている。
雄部材23の幅は、ノッチ24の幅に略等しい。
流量操作部材18が回動可能範囲の中央位置に達すると、雄部材23が両方の雌部材21に挟まれてノッチ24に嵌まり込み、雄部材23または雌部材21が弾性変形から復帰して、使用者にクリック感を感得させる。
前述のように、このとき水の流量は最大となっている。
クリック感機構は、上記の実施形態に限定されるものではなく、使用者にクリック感を感得させることのできる他の構成を採用することができる。
以下、他のいくつかの例を記載する。
また、実施形態ではノズル本体6に雄部材23を設け、流量操作部材18に雌部材21を設けたが、これとは逆にノズル本体6に雌部材を設け、流量操作部材18に雄部材を設けてもよい。
例えば、板金をΩ字状に折り曲げ加工してノズル本体6または流量操作部材18に取り付けることにより、突出した雄部材または雌部材を形成してもよい。
例えば、図11に示すように、流量操作部材18が回動可能範囲の中央位置に達したときに、流量操作部材18の湾曲板18cの左右両端位置からそれぞれ突出する一対の雄部材が、ノズル本体6(通水パイプ7)の左右両端位置からそれぞれ突出する雌部材に内接し、使用者にクリック感を感得させるようにしてもよい。
流量操作部材18は、本発明の実施形態の流量操作部材と同様の基本的な構成を備えており、湾曲板18cと、弁体保持舌片18aと、指かけ部18bと、表示部18dとを有する。
湾曲板18cの内周面下部の左右両端付近には、それぞれ雄部材26、26を内方に略半円状に突出させている。
通水パイプ7は、本発明の実施形態の通水パイプと同様の基本的な構成を備えており、内部に流路10を有する屈曲管であって、屈曲部分には、挿入用通路20を形成している。
通水パイプ7の流量操作部材18が取り付けられる高さには、雌部材27、27をそれぞれ側周面から左右に突出させている。図10(e)、図11に示すように、それぞれの雌部材27は外方(径方向)に山なりに形成されており、頂部から後ろ側への斜面は急勾配に、頂部から前側への斜面は緩やかに形成されている。
流量操作部材18が回動可能範囲の中央位置に達すると、雄部材26が雌部材27の急な斜面に沿って移動し、雄部材26または雌部材27が弾性変形から復帰して、使用者にクリック感を感得させる。
この中央位置への回動の際、他方の(図11では図示されない右の)雄部材26は通水パイプ7の中央側から雌部材27に内接する位置まで移動する。
上記の本発明の実施形態では、回動弁体17の保持用孔17bに流量操作部材18の弁体保持舌片18aを挿通して連動するように係合した流量調整弁を設けている。
これに対し、第二別態様では、図12、図13に示すように、流量調整弁の操作に対する摩擦抵抗を低減するために、回動弁体30と、ストッパー31と、流量操作部材32とからなる以下の流量調整弁を設けたことを特徴とする。
第二別態様の発明において、回動弁体30とストッパー31とは点接触するか、又は、接触面積が小さい面接触をするものである。図12から図16の例では点接触としている。
切り欠き部33は、通水パイプ7の屈曲部分に配置できるように(図12参照)、回動弁体30の前面を略100度に亘って切り欠いてなる。
また、回動弁体30の外周面には、水漏れ防止用のOリング30a(図13参照)を切り欠き部33の上方に取り付けている。
この突出当接部30bが球面の頂点でストッパー31に点接触することにより、水圧で回動弁体30が上方に外れないように支持される。また、突出当接部30bの後端は、図13に示す組み立て後に流量操作部材32の弁体操作舌片32aと干渉しないように略垂直面に形成されている。
突出当接部30bの形状は、球面状のほかに、その他の曲面形状、円錐形状や四角錐形状等の尖鋭形状、円筒形状、その他様々な形状を採用することができる。
(A)1点で点接触する形態(図12から図16)
(B)複数の点で点接触する形態
(C)1つの面接触部分で接触する形態
(D)複数の面接触部分で接触する形態
(E)1以上の点接触と、1以上の面接触部分で接触する形態
図12から図16の例では1個とした。
この係止側壁30c、30cの間隔は、後述する流量操作部材32の弁体操作舌片32aの幅と略等しい。流量調整弁の組み立て後には、両係止側壁30c、30cの間に弁体操作舌片32aが配置され、流量操作部材32を左右方向に回動する操作に回動弁体30を連動させることができる。
係止側壁30cの高さは、突出当接部30bの高さよりもわずかに低くなっている。また、係止側壁30cは、Oリング30aを取り付けるときにひっかかって妨げとなることのないように後端を適宜面取りすることが好ましい。
回動弁体30の突出当接部30bとの摩擦抵抗を小さくするため、ストッパー31の下面31aの面粗さを可能なかぎり小さくすることが好ましい。
図12から図16の例では回動弁体接触部をストッパー側に突出する形態の滑らかな湾曲面(突出当接部30b)とし、ストッパー接触部位は平面(下面31a)とした。この例で、その平面とその湾曲面とは相互に接するものであり、本明細書においてはこの形態は(A)1点で接触する点接触として定義する。
ストッパー31の前側には、2つの係合爪31dを前方に突設している。図13に示すように、この係合爪31dを通水パイプ7に設けられた溝(図示せず)に差し込むことにより、ストッパー31を通水パイプ7に強固に取り付けることができ、回動弁体30を水圧に対して支持し、外れを防止することができる。
指かけ部32bは湾曲板32cから突出した比較的幅広な形状に形成され、その左右方向中央にグリップ部3の延在方向に延びる幅が狭い表示部32dを有する。
これにより、流量操作部材32をグリップ部3と略平行な軸の軸回り、すなわち略左右方向に回動すると、回動弁体30が連動し、グリップ部3と略平行な軸の軸回りに回動する。
また、突出当接部30bとストッパー31の下面31aとが点接触であるため、回動弁体30が回動する際の回動弁体30とストッパー31との摩擦抵抗を小さくすることができ、操作荷重を軽くすることができる。
そのため、回動弁体30に水圧がかかっても、これによって弁体操作舌片32aが押され流量操作部材32と通水パイプ7の開口7c周縁との摩擦抵抗が増加することがなく、回動操作の操作荷重を軽くすることができる。
以上のように、第二別態様では、上記の実施形態に比べて、流量調整弁の操作感が水圧の影響で悪化することがなく、良好な操作を実現することができる。

Claims (7)
- 水導入用の接続口を形成した基端部から上方に延びる略筒状に形成され、使用者が把持するグリップ部と、
このグリップ部の略上端から前方に延びるとともに先端に散水口を形成した略筒状のノズル部と、
上記グリップ部の接続口から上記ノズル部の散水口にかけて延在する水の流路とを有する屈曲形状のノズル本体を有する散水ノズルであって、
このノズル本体の上記流路中に配設され、回動することで上記流路を通過する水の流量を増減させる回動弁体と、
上記グリップ部の後背上部から突出するとともに、上記グリップ部と略平行な軸の軸回りに回動可能に上記回動弁体に連結される流量操作部材とからなる流量調整弁を設けたことを特徴とする散水ノズル。 - 上記グリップ部を上方から貫通して上記流路に到達する、上記回動弁体を組み込むための挿入用通路を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の散水ノズル。
- 上記回動弁体を上記ノズル本体の屈曲部分の上記流路中に配置し、上記グリップ部と略平行な軸の軸回りに回動可能に保持するとともに、
上記流路に面する上記回動弁体の外面の一部を切り欠いた切り欠き部を設け、回動により上記切り欠き部が上記流路に合致するときに水が上記流路を通過することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の散水ノズル。 - 上記流量操作部材が回動可能範囲の中央に位置するときに、上記流路調整弁の水の流量が最大になることを特徴とする請求項1記載の散水ノズル。
- 上記流量操作部材が回動可能範囲の中央位置に達したときに、上記ノズル本体または上記流量操作部材の一方に設けた雄部材と他方に設けた雌部材とが係合して、使用者にクリック感を感得させるクリック感機構を設けたことを特徴とする請求項4記載の散水ノズル。
- 他の部品に接続される基端部から上方に延びる略筒状のグリップ部と、
このグリップ部の略上端から前方に延びるとともに先端に散水口を形成した略筒状のノズル部と、
上記グリップ部の基端部から上記ノズル部の散水口にかけて延在する水の流路とを有する屈曲形状のノズル本体を有する散水ノズルであって、
このノズル本体の屈曲部分付近の上記流路中に配設され、上記流路を通過する水の流量を増減させる弁体を有する流量調整弁を設けるとともに、
上記グリップ部を上方から貫通して上記流路に到達する、上記弁体を組み込むための挿入用通路を設けたことを特徴とする散水ノズル。 - 上記流量操作部材と別体に形成され、上記回動弁体に接触し上記流路の水圧に対して支持するストッパーを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の散水ノズル。
