Definitions
- the present invention relates to a disk reproducing apparatus for reproducing data recorded on a recording medium such as a BD-ROM (Blu-ray-Disc-Read-Only-Memory).
- a recording medium such as a BD-ROM (Blu-ray-Disc-Read-Only-Memory).
- a representative large-capacity optical disc is a Blu-ray Disc (BD: Blu-ray Disc, hereinafter referred to as “BD”).
- BD Blu-ray Disc
- the BD has a huge data capacity of 25 gigabytes (GB) in a single layer and 50 GB in two layers, and can store movie content with high-definition image quality.
- Commercial and rental package software using the BD is provided by a BD-ROM, which is a read-only medium in which data is written in the manufacturing process and cannot be added or rewritten.
- This BD-ROM has two specifications, HDMV mode and BD-J mode.
- the HDMV mode is an extension of the video / audio codec specification over the conventional DVD-ROM, and can use high-definition video and high-quality audio.
- the content specification is the same as that of DVD-ROM.
- BD-J mode in addition to the HDMV mode, a visual expression such as superimposing images can be added by a Java (registered trademark) application.
- HDMV titles are classified into movie titles and interactive titles.
- the movie title is a title that is played in order from the beginning to the end of the title.
- the interactive title is not a title for sequentially reproducing the title from the beginning to the end, as represented by the menu title. Therefore, there is no concept of chapters in interactive titles, and there are many devices that do not notify users of playback time information.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining a sequence example of resume playback in an in-vehicle environment as a conventional technique.
- a navigation command written as management information on a disc is executed as a scenario for reproducing a title (S1001)
- playlist reproduction moving image reproduction
- the signal processing unit provided in the disc playback apparatus determines whether or not the playlist being played is a title type to be resumed (S1003), and if it is determined to be a title type to be resumed ( (S1003: Yes), the current register information (reproduction information) is stored in the nonvolatile memory (S1004).
- the register information is stored in the nonvolatile memory periodically at a predetermined time interval.
- the signal processing unit determines whether or not the playlist playback has been interrupted (S1005), and when determining that the playback has not been interrupted (S1005: No), returns to step S1002 to continue the playlist playback. On the other hand, if it is determined that the playback interruption has occurred (S1005: Yes), it is determined whether or not there is an instruction to resume playlist playback (S1006).
- the sequence example shown in FIG. 9 is provided with a process for determining the title type to be resumed (S1003) for convenience.
- this title type determination processing is not performed, and the register information may always be stored in a nonvolatile memory. .
- step S1006 If the disc playback apparatus automatically resumes playback after the playback interruption without depending on the user operation, the process of determining whether or not there is a playback restart instruction in step S1006 is unnecessary.
- the register information is periodically stored in the nonvolatile memory (S1004).
- the power is constantly supplied as in a home disk reproducing device. If this is assumed, the register information may be stored in the non-volatile memory only when the reproduction interruption occurs.
- HDMV titles are classified into movie titles and interactive titles.
- HDMV movie titles that are played in order from the beginning to the end of the title are played back based on register information at the time of playback stop. Even if it is made to reproduce, it can reproduce from the same position as the time of reproduction stop.
