また、本発明者らは、炭素数4~8個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量が、組成物の全質量を基準として0.02質量%以下である場合、熱伝導性組成物が60℃~90℃に加熱された場合にレーザーダイオードの発光点に炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスに由来する異物が形成されないことを見出した。

本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスを発生させず、かつ優れた硬化性を有するため、特に光ピックアップ用の湿気硬化型熱伝導性組成物として好ましく使用することができる。
以下、本発明の実施の形態を説明する。
本発明は、(A)架橋性シリル基を有する重合体、(B)硬化触媒および(C)熱伝導性フィラーを含有する熱伝導性組成物である。
本発明では、架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)とは、ポリオキシアルキレン、ポリイソブチレン、アクリル酸エステル共重合体等を主鎖骨格として有し、かつ末端及び側鎖に架橋性シリル基を有する重合体を意味する。
ここで、架橋性シリル基とは、少なくとも1個の水酸基または加水分解性基が結合しているケイ素原子のことである。加水分解性基としては、例えば水素原子、ハロゲン原子、アルコキシ基、アシルオキシ基、ケトキシメート基、アミノ基、アミド基、酸アミド基、アミノオキシ基、メルカプト基、アルケニルオキシ基、カルボキシル基等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、加水分解性が穏やかで取り扱いやすいという点からアルコキシ基が好ましく、ジアルコキシ基がより好ましい。
本発明は、(A)架橋性シリル基を有する重合体、(B)硬化触媒および(C)熱伝導性フィラーを含有する熱伝導性組成物である。
本発明では、架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)とは、ポリオキシアルキレン、ポリイソブチレン、アクリル酸エステル共重合体等を主鎖骨格として有し、かつ末端及び側鎖に架橋性シリル基を有する重合体を意味する。
ここで、架橋性シリル基とは、少なくとも1個の水酸基または加水分解性基が結合しているケイ素原子のことである。加水分解性基としては、例えば水素原子、ハロゲン原子、アルコキシ基、アシルオキシ基、ケトキシメート基、アミノ基、アミド基、酸アミド基、アミノオキシ基、メルカプト基、アルケニルオキシ基、カルボキシル基等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、加水分解性が穏やかで取り扱いやすいという点からアルコキシ基が好ましく、ジアルコキシ基がより好ましい。
架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)としては、例えば架橋性シリル基を有するポリプロピレングリコール、架橋性シリル基を有するポリエチレングリコール、架橋性シリル基を有するプロピレングリコール-エチレングリコール共重合体、架橋性シリル基を有するポリイソブチレン、架橋性シリル基を有するアクリル酸エステル共重合体等が挙げられる。中でも入手が容易である点で、架橋性シリル基を有するポリアルキレングリコールが好ましい。
本発明に用いる架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)は、熱伝導性組成物の物性および作業性等の観点から、好ましくは500~20000、より好ましくは500~10000の数平均分子量(Mn)を有する。ここで、本発明における数平均分子量(Mn)は、ゲル・パーミエーション・クロマトグラフィー(GPC)により測定したポリスチレン換算値である。
上記架橋性シリル基を有するオキシアルキレン系重合体(A)は、従来公知の方法により製造することができる。また、本発明の熱伝導性組成物において、架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)は、単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。このような架橋性シリル基を有するポリプロピレングリコールとしては、例えば株式会社カネカ製のMSポリマー、サイリルグレード等が挙げられる。具体的には、MSポリマーS203、サイリルSAT350が挙げられる。
上記架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物の全質量を基準として5質量%以上、好ましくは8質量%以上、より好ましくは10質量%以上である。また、上記架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物全質量を基準として50質量%以下、好ましくは30質量%以下、より好ましくは20質量%以下である。成分(A)の含有量が50質量%を越える場合には、十分な熱伝導率向上効果が得られない虞がある。成分(A)の含有量が5質量%未満の場合には、十分な接着性が得られない虞がある。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、上記架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)に加えて、硬化触媒(B)を含む。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物に用いる硬化触媒(B)としては、有機金属触媒、アミン系触媒、過剰のポリアミンと多塩基酸とから得られる低分子量ポリアミド樹脂、および過剰のポリアミンとエポキシ化合物との反応生成物等の公知のシラノール縮合触媒が挙げられる。これらの中でも、入手容易性及び反応促進性の観点から、有機金属触媒、アミン系触媒が好ましい。
これらの硬化触媒は、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物に用いる硬化触媒(B)としては、有機金属触媒、アミン系触媒、過剰のポリアミンと多塩基酸とから得られる低分子量ポリアミド樹脂、および過剰のポリアミンとエポキシ化合物との反応生成物等の公知のシラノール縮合触媒が挙げられる。これらの中でも、入手容易性及び反応促進性の観点から、有機金属触媒、アミン系触媒が好ましい。

上記有機金属触媒としては、オクチル酸錫、ナフテン酸錫、ネオデカン酸錫、ステアリン酸錫、ジブチル錫ジオクトエート、ジブチル錫ジラウレート、ジオクチル錫ジラウレート、ジオクチル錫ジバーサテート、ジブチル錫ビストリエトキシシリケート、ジブチル錫ジオレイルマレート、ジブチル錫ジアセテート、1,1,3,3-テトラブチル-1,3-ジラウリルオキシカルボニル-ジスタノキサン、ジブチル錫オキシビスエトキシシリケート、ジブチル錫オキサイド、ジブチル錫オキサイドとフタル酸エステルとの反応物、ジブチル錫オキサイドとマレイン酸ジエステルとの反応物、およびジブチル錫ジアセチルアセトナート等の有機錫化合物、ビスマス、バリウム、カルシウム、インジウム、チタン、ジルコニウム、カルシウム、亜鉛、鉄、コバルト、鉛のカルボン酸塩(例えばオクチル酸ビスマス、オクチル酸カルシウム、ビスマストリス(2-エチルヘキサノエート)等)、およびテトラブチルチタネート、テトラプロピルチタネート等のチタン酸エステル等が挙げられる。また、上記有機金属触媒として、β-ジケトン、β-ケトエステル等のキレート化剤で配位したチタンキレート化合物を用いることもできる。β-ジケトンとしては、2,4-ペンタンジオン、2,4-ヘキサンジオン、2,4-ヘプタンジオン、ジベンゾイルメタン、テノイルトリフルオロアセトン、1,3-シクロヘキサンジオン、1-フェニル1,3-ブタンジオン等が挙げられ、β-ケトエステルとしては、アセト酢酸メチル、アセト酢酸エチル、アセト酢酸プロピル、アセト酢酸ブチル、メチルピバロイルアセテート、メチルイソブチロイルアセテート、カプロイル酢酸メチル、ラウロイル酢酸メチル等が挙げられる。これらの有機金属触媒は、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
これらの有機金属触媒の中でも、反応促進性の観点から、有機錫化合物が好ましい。上記金属触媒の代表的市販品としては、例えば日東化成株式会社製ネオスタンU-220(ジブチル錫)、U-810(ジオクチル錫)、U-50(ネオデカン酸錫)、ネオスタンU600(ビスマストリス(2-エチルヘキサノエート))等が挙げられる。
これらの有機金属触媒の中でも、反応促進性の観点から、有機錫化合物が好ましい。上記金属触媒の代表的市販品としては、例えば日東化成株式会社製ネオスタンU-220(ジブチル錫)、U-810(ジオクチル錫)、U-50(ネオデカン酸錫)、ネオスタンU600(ビスマストリス(2-エチルヘキサノエート))等が挙げられる。
上記アミン系触媒としては、ブチルアミン、オクチルアミン、ラウリルアミン、ジブチルアミン、モノエタノールアミン、ジエタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミン、ジエチレントリアミン、トリエチレンテトラミン、オレイルアミン、シクロヘキシルアミン、ベンジルアミン、ジエチルアミノプロピルアミン、キシリレンジアミン、トリエチレンジアミン、グアニジン、ジフェニルグアニジン、2,4,6-トリス(ジメチルアミノメチル)フェノール、モルホリン、N-メチルモルホリン、1,8-ジアザビシクロ(5.4.0)ウンデセン-7(DBU)等のアミン系化合物またはこれらとカルボン酸等との塩が挙げられる。これらのアミン系触媒は、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
上記アミン系触媒の代表的市販品としては、例えばサンアプロ株式会社製DBU等が挙げられる。

ここで、オクチル酸錫、ジブチル錫ジオクトエート、ジブチル錫ジラウレート、ビスマストリス(2-エチルヘキサノエート)のような炭素数4~8個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒は、60℃~90℃に加熱された場合、炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスを発生させ得る。その結果、該炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスは、レーザーダイオードの発光点に付着し、アルデヒドガスに由来する異物が生じ得る。
硬化触媒(B)における炭素数4~8個の炭化水素を有する有機金属触媒の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物の全量を基準として0.001~0.02質量%、好ましくは0.001質量%~0.01質量%、より好ましくは0.001質量%~0.008質量%である。炭素数4~8個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量が上記範囲内であると、レーザーダイオードが発光することにより本発明の組成物が60℃~90℃に加熱された場合でも、レーザーダイオードの発光点に炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスに由来する異物が付着しない。
また、硬化触媒(B)における炭素数1~3個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒および/または炭素数が9個以上の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物全量を基準として0.01質量%~2.0質量%、好ましくは0.01~1.0質量%、より好ましくは0.01質量%~0.5質量%である。炭素数1~3個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒および/または炭素数が9個以上の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量が上記範囲内であると、良好な硬化性を得ることができる。
硬化触媒(B)における炭素数4~8個の炭化水素を有する有機金属触媒の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物の全量を基準として0.001~0.02質量%、好ましくは0.001質量%~0.01質量%、より好ましくは0.001質量%~0.008質量%である。炭素数4~8個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量が上記範囲内であると、レーザーダイオードが発光することにより本発明の組成物が60℃~90℃に加熱された場合でも、レーザーダイオードの発光点に炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスに由来する異物が付着しない。
また、硬化触媒(B)における炭素数1~3個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒および/または炭素数が9個以上の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物全量を基準として0.01質量%~2.0質量%、好ましくは0.01~1.0質量%、より好ましくは0.01質量%~0.5質量%である。炭素数1~3個の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒および/または炭素数が9個以上の炭化水素基を有する有機金属触媒の含有量が上記範囲内であると、良好な硬化性を得ることができる。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物における硬化触媒(B)の含有量は、熱伝導性組成物の全質量を基準として、好ましくは0.01質量%以上、より好ましくは0.1質量%以上である。また、硬化触媒(B)の含有量は、熱伝導性組成物の全重量を基準として、好ましくは2.0質量%以下、より好ましくは1.0質量%以下である。硬化触媒(B)の含有量が2.0質量%を越える場合には、硬化速度が速くなり作業性に支障をきたす虞がある。また、硬化触媒(B)の含有量が0.01質量%未満の場合には、硬化性が著しく低下する虞がある。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)および硬化触媒(B)に加えて熱伝導性フィラー(C)を含む。
熱伝導性フィラーとしては、酸化アルミニウム、アルミニウム粉、酸化亜鉛、窒化アルミニウム、窒化ホウ素、炭素繊維、酸化マグネシウム、水酸化アルミニウム等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。本発明においては、フィラーの安定性(吸湿性)及びコスト面の観点から酸化アルミニウムが好ましく、フィラーの高充填化の観点から球状の酸化アルミニウムがより好ましい。また、熱伝導性フィラーは、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
熱伝導性フィラーの代表的市販品としては、例えば電気化学工業株式会社からDAMシリーズ、DAWシリーズとして市販されている酸化アルミニウム等が挙げられる。
熱伝導性フィラーとしては、酸化アルミニウム、アルミニウム粉、酸化亜鉛、窒化アルミニウム、窒化ホウ素、炭素繊維、酸化マグネシウム、水酸化アルミニウム等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。本発明においては、フィラーの安定性(吸湿性)及びコスト面の観点から酸化アルミニウムが好ましく、フィラーの高充填化の観点から球状の酸化アルミニウムがより好ましい。また、熱伝導性フィラーは、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
熱伝導性フィラーの代表的市販品としては、例えば電気化学工業株式会社からDAMシリーズ、DAWシリーズとして市販されている酸化アルミニウム等が挙げられる。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物における熱伝導性フィラー(C)の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物全質量を基準として50質量%以上、好ましくは70質量%以上、より好ましくは80質量%以上である。また、熱伝導性フィラー(C)の含有量は通常、熱伝導性組成物の全重量を基準として95質量%以下、好ましくは90質量%以下、より好ましくは85質量%以下である。熱伝導性フィラー(C)の含有量が95質量%を越える場合には、著しく高粘度化する虞がある。また、熱伝導性フィラー(C)の含有量が50質量%未満の場合には、十分な熱伝導率向上効果が得られない虞がある。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、上記成分(A)~(C)に加えて、必要に応じて通常の添加剤、例えば接着付与剤、可塑剤および着色剤等を含んでよい。
上記接着性付与剤としては、N-(β-アミノエチル)-N’-(γ-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)-エチレンジアミン、N-(β-アミノエチル)-γ-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン等のアミノアルコキシシラン;ビニルトリエトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシラン、γ-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-グリシドキシプロピルトリエトキシシラン、β-(3,4-エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチルトリメトキシシランなどのエポキシアルコキシシラン、3-メルカプトプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン、3-メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシランなどのメルカプトアルコキシシラン等が挙げられ、中でも、アミノシラン化合物が好適である。本発明の熱伝導性組成物に接着性付与剤を含有させる場合、熱伝導性組成物全質量を基準として0.01質量%~2.0質量%の接着性付与剤を含有させればよい。
上記可塑剤(減粘剤、粘度調整剤)として、公知のパラフィン系、ナフテン系、ポリブテンなどの炭化水素を、引火点、粘度、塗料付着性などに支障のない範囲で使用することができる。また、フタル酸ジエステル類(ジイソノニルフタレート(DINP)など)、エポキシ化ヘキサヒドロフタル酸ジエステル類、アルキレンジカルボン酸ジエステル類、アルキルベンゼン類等も硬化性等に支障のない範囲で使用することができる。
その他の添加剤として、必要に応じて、着色剤(ベンガラ、酸化チタン、カーボンブラック、他の着色顔料、染料など)、有機溶剤(アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、リグロイン、酢酸エチル、テトラヒドロフラン、n-ヘキサン、ヘプタンなど)、紫外線吸収剤・光安定剤(ベンゾトリアゾール類、ヒンダードアミン類など)、酸化防止剤(ヒンダードフェノール類など)、揺変剤(コロイダルシリカ、有機ベントナイト、脂肪酸アマイド、水添ひまし油など)、溶剤(脂環族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素など)等を適量範囲で使用することができる。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、60℃~90℃に加熱された場合、炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスが発生しないので、光ピックアップ装置に搭載されたレーザーダイオード用の熱伝導性組成物として好ましく用いることができる。
また、本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、硬化後の表面タック性が良好であるので、作業性に優れている。

本発明の熱伝導性組成物はそれぞれ、通常の混練機、例えばプライミクス社T.Kハイビスミックス2P-1等を用い、上記成分(A)~(C)および必要に応じてその他の添加剤等を混合することによって製造することができる。なお、本発明の熱伝導性組成物の調製方法は、上述したものに何ら限定されるものではない。
本発明の熱伝導性組成物は、光ディスク読取装置に搭載されるレーザーダイオード用ホルダーに塗布し、空気中の湿分により硬化させることができる。
以下、次に実施例および比較例を挙げて、本発明をより具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれによって何ら限定されるものではない

上記のように調製した各熱伝導性組成物について、以下の評価を行った。その結果を表2に示す。
1.粘度測定
コーンプレート型粘度計(BROOKFIELD VISCOMETER DV-II+Pro)により熱伝導組成物の粘度(Pa・s)を測定した。
測定条件:コーン型番CP52、回転数0.1rpm

2.アウトガス分析
上記のように調製した熱伝導性組成物を、レーザーダイオードのホルダーの表面に60mg塗布し、次いでオーブン中において、20℃65%RHで24時間、80℃で24時間硬化させた。次いで、該レーザーダイオードホルダーを10mLバイアル瓶に入れ、完全に密閉し、その後、該10mLバイアル瓶を雰囲気温度50℃のオーブンに設置した。次いで、バイアル瓶内のレーザーダイオードを、ホルダー表面の温度が約80℃~85℃になるように電圧電流を調整して発光させ、2週間保持した。その後、バイアル瓶内のアウトガスを、ガスクロマトグラフ質量分析計(GC-MS)を用いて分析した。
GC-MS分析機器:QP2010(島津製作所製)
カラム種類:TC-1(30m×0.25mm ID 1.0μm)
分析条件:40℃で3分間保持した後、10℃/分の昇温速度にて280℃まで昇温し、280℃で8分間保持した。
気化温度:240℃、イオン源230℃EI、注入量1mL
上記のように調製した熱伝導性組成物を、レーザーダイオードのホルダーの表面に60mg塗布し、次いでオーブン中において、20℃65%RHで24時間、80℃で24時間硬化させた。次いで、該レーザーダイオードホルダーを10mLバイアル瓶に入れ、完全に密閉し、その後、該10mLバイアル瓶を雰囲気温度50℃のオーブンに設置した。次いで、バイアル瓶内のレーザーダイオードを、ホルダー表面の温度が約80℃~85℃になるように電圧電流を調整して発光させ、2週間保持した。その後、バイアル瓶内のアウトガスを、ガスクロマトグラフ質量分析計(GC-MS)を用いて分析した。

カラム種類:TC-1(30m×0.25mm ID 1.0μm)

3.レーザーダイオードの発光点の観察
上記アウトガス評価において用いた2週間発光後のレーザーダイオードの発光点を、マイクロスコープ(KEYENCE VHX-200)を用いて観察することにより、異物が発光点に付着しているか確認した。

4.硬化性評価
上記のように調製した熱伝導性組成物を、直径50mmφ×厚み4.0mmのPP性容器に流し込み、20℃・65%RH雰囲気下に放置した。硬化物表面を、24時間放置した後に指触により確認した。

実施例1乃至5の本発明による熱伝導性組成物では、炭素数4~8個のアルデヒドガスがアウトガス試験において検出されず、およびレーザーダイオード発光点への付着物が確認されなかった。これに対し、比較例1乃至4の本発明によらない熱伝導性組成物では、ブタナールまたはオクタナールがアウトガス試験において検出され、およびレーザーダイオード発光点への付着物が確認された。

- 前記架橋性シリル基を有する重合体(A)は、ポリオキシアルキレン重合体である、請求項1に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 前記熱伝導性組成物は、熱伝導性組成物の全質量を基準として0.01質量%~2.0質量%の硬化触媒(B)を含む、請求項1に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 前記熱伝導性組成物は、熱伝導性組成物の全質量を基準として50質量%~95質量%の前記熱伝導性フィラー(C)を含む、請求項1に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 光ピックアップ用熱伝導性接着剤である、請求項1に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 光ピックアップ用熱伝導性接着剤である、請求項2に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 光ピックアップ用熱伝導性接着剤である、請求項3に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 光ピックアップ用熱伝導性接着剤である、請求項4に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
- 光ピックアップ用熱伝導性接着剤である、請求項5に記載の熱伝導性組成物。
