Description
また、前記軸は前記凹部の底面と直交していることが好ましい。
これによれば、この管を軸として回転させることができ、さらに、この管と回転継手を介して外部と接続できるので、連通路を介した流体の出し入れが容易である。この場合、特に、前記回転継手に接続され、前記連通路を介して前記凹部に流体を供給し、かつ、前記連通路を介して前記凹部内の流体を排出する流体供給排出部をさらに備えることが好ましい。
凹部及び前記凹部の内面に開口する連通路を有する本体部に対して、前記凹部を覆うように配置された弾性板を準備する工程と、
前記連通路を介して前記凹部内の流体を排出することにより前記弾性板の凹部を形成する工程と、
前記弾性板の凹部内に封口材を供給する工程と、
前記封口材が供給された本体部を軸周りに回転させる工程と、
前記凹部と対向する位置に、複数の貫通孔を有するハニカム構造体の一端面を配置する工程と、
前記回転させる工程の後に、前記連通路を介して前記本体部と前記弾性板との間に流体を供給することにより、前記ハニカム構造体の一端面に向かって前記弾性板を移動させる工程と、を備える。
内筒61は、接続管14の下端部を形成する。外筒62は、内筒61を外から取り囲むように配置される。ベアリング63は、内筒61及び外筒62の間に配置され、これらを互いに鉛直軸周りに相対的に回転可能とする。パッキン64は、内筒61と外筒63との間をシールし、流体の漏れ等を抑制する。外筒62には、ポンプ50が接続されている。
本体部10の回転速度は特に限定されないが、30~300rpm程度が好ましい。回転時間も特に限定されないが、3~20秒程度が好ましい。
つづいて、上述の封口装置100の使用方法について説明する。まず、図1の状態から、予め、空気圧シリンダ82を駆動して、ハニカム構造体70を保持する保持具81上方に引き上げておくと共に、マスク170を弾性板20上から外し、本体部10に対して弾性板20が凹部10dを覆うように配置された状態とする。次に、ポンプ50のピストン53を下方に引くことにより、本体部10の凹部10dから流体FLを下方に排出させる。これにより、図5の(a)に示すように、弾性板20が変形して凹部10dの側面10b及び底面10cに密着し、これによって、弾性板20の凹部20dが形成する。
封口材130は、ハニカム構造体70の貫通孔70aの端部を閉鎖できるものであれば特に限定されないが、液状であることが好ましい。例えば、封口材として、セラミクス材料又はセラミクス原料と、バインダと、好ましくは潤滑剤と、溶媒とを含むスラリーが例示できる。セラミクス材料としては、上述のハニカム構造体の構成材料や、その原料が挙げられる。
封口材の粘度は、好ましくは、回転粘度計による共軸二重円筒法による測定において、23℃で5~50Pa・sである。
例えば、凹部10dを上から見た平面形状は、円形以外に楕円形、矩形、正方形等とすることもできる。この場合、矩形や正方形の場合の大きさは、例えば、一辺50~300mmとすることができる。また、本体部10の上面10aに対して、側面10bが垂直、かつ、底面10cが平行である必要は無く、例えば、斜面であったり曲面であってもよい。
また、上記実施形態では、底面10cが水平な平面であるが、凹凸面や溝などを有する面など平面でなくても良い。
図9の(a)(b)の形態は、図1の態様の封口装置100(凹部の底面10cや上面10cが水平面)の全体を傾斜させており、図9の(a)では凹部の底面10cや上面10aが傾斜面となり、図9の(b)では凹部の底面10cや上面10aが鉛直面となっている。
このような傾斜軸あるいは水平軸を用いる封口装置は、特に、粘度の高い、例えば、10~50Pa・s程度の封口材を用いる場合に好適であり、遠心力に加えて、重力によっても封口材のペーストを凹部内に拡げる効果を与えることができる。
Claims (16)
- 凹部及び前記凹部の内面に開口する連通路を有する本体部と、
前記凹部を覆うように前記本体部に配置された弾性板と、
前記本体部を軸周りに回転可能に支持する軸受と、
前記本体部を前記軸周りに回転させる回転駆動部と、を備えた封口装置。 - 前記軸は鉛直軸である請求項1記載の封口装置。
- 前記軸は鉛直に対して傾斜する軸又は水平軸である請求項1記載の封口装置。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面と交差する請求項1~3のいずれか一項記載の封口装置。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面の中央部と交差する請求項1~3のいずれか一項記載の封口装置。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面と直交している請求項4又は5記載の封口装置。
- 前記軸に沿って延び、前記連通路と接続された管をさらに備え、
前記軸受は、前記管に接続された回転継手である請求項1~6のいずれか一項記載の封口装置。 - 前記回転継手に接続され、前記管及び連通路を介した前記凹部への流体の供給及び前記凹部からの流体の排出を制御する流体供給排出制御部をさらに備える請求項7記載の封口装置。
- 前記本体部に固定され、前記本体部を前記軸周りに回転可能に支持する補助軸受をさらに備える請求項1~8のいずれか一項記載の封口装置。
- 前記弾性板は、ゴム板である請求項1~9のいずれか一項記載の封口装置。
- 凹部及び前記凹部の内面に開口する連通路を有する本体部に対して、前記凹部を覆うように配置された弾性板を準備する工程と、
前記連通路を介して前記凹部内の流体を排出することにより前記弾性板の凹部を形成する工程と、
前記弾性板の凹部内に封口材を供給する工程と、
前記封口材が供給された本体部を軸周りに回転させる工程と、
前記凹部と対向する位置に、複数の貫通孔を有するハニカム構造体の一端面を配置する工程と、
前記回転させる工程の後に、前記連通路を介して前記本体部と前記弾性板との間に流体を供給することにより、前記ハニカム構造体の一端面に向かって前記弾性板を移動させる工程と、
を備える、端部が封口された複数の貫通孔を有するハニカム構造体の製造方法。 - 前記軸は鉛直軸である請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記軸は鉛直に対して傾斜する軸又は水平軸である請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面と交差する請求項11~13のいずれか一項記載の方法。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面の中央部と交差する請求項11~14のいずれか一項記載の方法。
- 前記軸は前記凹部の底面と直交している請求項14又は15記載の方法。
