Description

抜け防止コネクタ
 本発明は、抜け防止コネクタに関するもので、特に、構造上、間口(相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口)側から端子を挿入できないPCB(プリント回路基板)コネクタおよびJC(Joint connector)について裏側から挿入しても端子保持力や組み付け性が悪化しない抜け防止機能を持たせたコネクタに関する。
〈特許文献1記載のコネクタ〉
 一般的なPCB(プリント回路基板)端子は、間口側からオス端子を挿入している(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
 その理由としては、
(1)接触部に樹脂を付着させたくないため。
(2)半田付けする側のリードよりも、オス・メス接触点の精度が重要であるため。
(3)メスコネクタの挿入時のタブ抜けや、オス・メスコネクタの嵌合後にワイヤーハーネスが引っ張られた際に、オスハウジングとオス端子の保持力を出すため、などが挙げられる。

 図8は特許文献1記載の従来のコネクタを示している。
 図8(A)はコネクタハウジングの斜視図、図8(B)は図8(A)の水平断面図、図8(C)は端子を挿入した状態の水平断面図である。
 図8(A)のコネクタハウジング100は、図8(B)で示したように、間口の奥に端子挿入孔を備えて成る樹脂製品である。その端子挿入孔は下の丸い拡大図で示したように、間口側が広く、奥側が狭い孔に形成されている。
 端子200は、図8(C)の下の丸内の拡大図で示したように、この端子挿入孔に対応する形状の挿入部を備えており、この端子200を端子挿入孔に挿入すると、A方向はせん断面が十分確保されるため端子をこのA方向で抜くことは困難だが、B方向には圧入代(しろ)分しか保持されないこととなる。
 したがって、一般的には、間口側からオス端子を挿入している。
〈間口側から端子を挿入できない場合の問題点〉
 このような理由により、間口側からの組み付けがコネクタにとってメリットとなる。ところが、接触部よりも反対側の方の端子形状が大きい場合には間口側からの組み付けができないため、コネクタハウジングを逆さにして間口の反対側より端子を挿入することになる。この場合には、前記(3)の理由で説明したように、端子はコネクタハウジングに対して挿入した方向と同じ側に引っ張られるため、端子が抜け易い、という問題点があった。
 本発明は、かかる問題点を解消するためになされたもので、相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口の反対側からコネクタハウジングに端子を挿入するタイプのコネクタであっても、端子の保持力を向上させ、解体性を向上させることのできるコネクタハウジングおよびそこに用いられる端子から成る抜け防止コネクタを提供することを目的とする。
 本発明の前記目的は、下記構成により達成される。
 (1) 相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口と、自身の端子が挿入される端子挿入口である背面開口とを備えたコネクタハウジングと、前記背面開口から挿入されて前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される端子と、から構成されるコネクタにであって、前記コネクタハウジングには、前記背面開口から前記コネクタハウジングの一方の側壁の途中まで上半分において連続する側壁開口が形成されると共に前記側壁開口の下側開口端面から上方に向けてテーパ付き突起が立設され、かつ、前記端子が前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される位置で前記端子における前記一方の側壁のテーパ付き突起に対向する部位には、前記テーパ付き突起が入り込むテーパ付き係合凹部が形成されており、前記コネクタハウジングにおける前記一方の側壁と反対側の他方の側壁には、テーパ付き穴が形成され、かつ、前記端子が前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される位置で前記端子における前記他方の側壁の前記テーパ付き穴に対向する部位には、前記テーパ付き穴に入り込むテーパ付き突起が形成され、前記端子が、前記テーパ同士の作用で前記端子の挿入方向と直角な方向にスライドして前記コネクタハウジング内に保持される抜け防止コネクタ。
 (2) 上記(1)の構成の抜け防止コネクタであって、前記コネクタハウジングには、前記側壁開口が形成されている前記一方の側壁から前記コネクタハウジングの内部空間内に延びる案内突出部が形成され、前記案内突出部と前記端子のピンが接触し、かつ、前記端子のテーパ付き突起が前記コネクタハウジングの内壁と接触することで、前記端子が規制されながら挿入が行われる抜け防止コネクタ。
 上記(1)の構成によれば、相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口の反対側から端子を挿入するタイプのコネクタであっても、端子が抜けなくなるので保持力を向上させることができる。また、解体に際しては冶具を用いることで簡単に解体できるため、解体性も向上させることができる。
 上記(2)の構成によれば、端子をコネクタハウジング内にスムーズに挿入することができるようになる。

〈本実施形態に係る抜け防止コネクタの構成〉
 図1~図7において、本発明の一実施形態に係る抜け防止コネクタ30は、コネクタハウジング10と、このコネクタハウジング10の間口(相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口)10Lの反対側からコネクタハウジング10の内部空間に挿入される端子20とで構成される。
 以下に、本発明の一実施形態に係るコネクタハウジング10と端子20について説明する。
〈本実施形態に係るコネクタハウジング10の構成〉
 本実施形態に係るコネクタハウジング10は、相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される間口10L(図1参照)を有する樹脂成型品で、間口10Lの反対側にある背面開口10R(図2参照)から端子20(図1参照)がコネクタハウジング10の内部空間に挿入されるようになっている。
 このコネクタハウジング10の特徴は、
(1)一側壁(他方の側壁)10S1(図1、図2、図3(A))にテーパ付き穴10K(図1、図2、図3(A))があけられていること、
(2)反対側側壁(一方の側壁)10S2(図3(B))の後述する側壁開口10Wの下側開口端面にテーパ付き突起10M(図3(B))が立設されていること、である。
〈本実施形態に係るテーパ付き穴10K〉

 本実施形態に係る端子20は、長方形の基部20Bと、基部20Bから相手側コネクタ端子に向けて一体に延びて相手側コネクタ端子(メス)の中に挿入される2本のオス端子20Pから成る金属板である。端子20は、オス端子20Pがコネクタハウジング10の間口10Lの反対側にある背面開口10R(図2参照)からコネクタハウジングの内部空間に挿入され、最終的に端子20全体がコネクタハウジング10内に挿入されて固定されて成るものである。
 この端子20の特徴は、
(1) 端子20がコネクタハウジング10の内部に保持される位置で長方形の基部20Bにおける一側壁10S1(図1参照)のテーパ付き穴10Kに対向する辺(部位)に、コネクタハウジング10のテーパ付き穴10Kに入り込むためのテーパ付き突起20K(図1、図3(A)参照)が形成されていること、
(2) 端子20がコネクタハウジング10の内部に保持される位置で長方形の基部20Bにおける反対側側壁10S2(図2参照)のテーパ付き突起10Mに対向する辺(部位)に、コネクタハウジング10のテーパ付き突起10Mが係合して入り込むためのテーパ付き係合凹部20M(図1、図3(B)参照)が形成されていること、である。
〈本実施形態に係るテーパ付き突起20K〉
 図1、図3において、テーパ付き突起20Kは、コネクタハウジング10に形成された長方形のテーパ付き穴10Kに過不足なく入り込むことができる大きさの突起で、かつ長方形のテーパ付き穴10Kに形成された略半円弧状の凸状テーパT1に対向する部位に同じく略半円弧状の凸状テーパT1が形成されている。
〈本実施形態に係るテーパ付き係合凹部20M〉
 図1、図3(A)、図3(B)において、テーパ付き係合凹部20Mは、コネクタハウジング10に形成されたテーパ付き突起10Mが過不足なく入り込むことができる大きさの凹部で、かつテーパ付き突起10Mに形成された略半円弧状の凸状テーパT2に対向する部位に同じく略半円弧状の凸状テーパT2が形成されている。
〈コネクタハウジング10内への端子20の組立手順〉
 本実施形態に係るコネクタハウジング10内へ本実施形態に係る端子20を組み立てる手順を説明する。
 (1)まず、端子20の2本のオス端子20Pをコネクタハウジング10の背面開口10R(図2参照)からコネクタハウジング10の内部空間に挿入する。図4(A)はこの状態を示している。
 (2)さらに、挿入を続ける。図4(B)はこの状態を示している。まだ、テーパ付き突起20Kもテーパ付き係合凹部20Mもコネクタハウジング10の係合部相手とは係合していない。端子20のオス端子20Pはコネクタハウジング10の内部に突出形成されたタブサイド10Tと接触し、また端子20のテーパ付き突起20Kがコネクタハウジング10の一側壁10S1の内壁と接触することで、端子20は規制されながら挿入が行われていく。
 (3)さらに、挿入を続けると、端子20の基部20Bに形成されたテーパ付き係合凹部20Mを形成している挿入方向前方の横木20N(図1参照)が、コネクタハウジング10に形成されたテーパ付き突起10Mにぶつかる。そこで、端子20の基部20Bを上へ持ち上げて横木20Nがテーパ付き突起10Mを乗り越えるようにすると、横木20Nはテーパ付き突起10Mを乗り越え、テーパ付き係合凹部20Mがテーパ付き突起10Mに対向するようになる。このとき同時にコネクタハウジング10の一側壁10S1では、テーパ付き突起20Kがテーパ付き穴10Kと対向するようになる。図5(A)はこの状態を示している。
 (4)テーパ付き係合凹部20Mがテーパ付き突起10Mに対向する位置に達すると、上部に位置するテーパ付き係合凹部20Mはその凸状テーパT2が下部に位置するテーパ付き突起10Mの凸状テーパT2上を挿入方向と直角でコネクタハウジング10内に挿入する方向に滑落して(スライドして)、テーパ付き突起10Mに係合する。
 これと同時に、一側壁10S1側のテーパ付き突起20Kもその凸状テーパT1がコネクタハウジング10のテーパ付き穴10Kの凸状テーパT1の下を挿入方向と直角でコネクタハウジング10外に離脱する方向に潜り込んで(スライドして)、テーパ付き穴10Kに係合する。図5(B)、図6(A)および図6(B)、図7はこの状態を示している。
 この状態では、端子20とコネクタハウジング10が十分なせん断面を持つため、メスコネクタハウジングの引っ張りやメス端子の挿入により外れることはない。
〈保持解除のしかた〉
 端子20をコネクタハウジング10から抜きたい(保持解除したい)ときは、テーパ付き穴10Kに冶具などを差し込み、端子20を持ち上げるように押すことで、内部の凸状テーパT1,T2にのって保持が解除され、容易に抜くことができる。
〈まとめ〉
 以上、本実施形態によれば、端子基部の一辺にコネクタハウジング側壁のテーパ付き穴に入り込むためのテーパ付き突起が形成され、かつ端子基部の反対辺にコネクタハウジング反対側壁のテーパ付き突起に係合するためのテーパ付き係合凹部が形成されることで、端子とコネクタハウジングは十分なせん断面を持つため、メスコネクタハウジングの引っ張りやメス端子の挿入により外れることはない。
 また、端子をコネクタハウジングから抜くときは、テーパ付き穴に冶具などを差し込み、端子を持ち上げるように押すことで、内部のテーパにのって保持が解除され、容易に抜くことができる。このように、相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口の反対側から端子を挿入するタイプのコネクタであっても、端子が抜けなくなるので保持力を向上させることができ、また、解体に際しては冶具を用いることで簡単に解体できるため、解体性も向上させることができる。
 なお、前述した実施形態は本発明の代表的な形態を示したに過ぎず、本発明は、実施形態に限定されるものではない。即ち、本発明の骨子を逸脱しない範囲で種々変形して実施することができる。
 また、本出願は、2010年12月21日出願の日本特許出願(特願2010-285093)に基づくものであり、その内容はここに参照として取り込まれる。
 本発明による抜け防止コネクタによれば、相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口の反対側からコネクタハウジングに端子を挿入するタイプのコネクタであっても、端子の保持力を向上させ、解体性を向上させることができる。

Claims (2)

  1.  相手側コネクタ端子が挿入される挿入口と、自身の端子が挿入される端子挿入口である背面開口とを備えたコネクタハウジングと、前記背面開口から挿入されて前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される端子と、から構成されるコネクタであって、
     前記コネクタハウジングには、前記背面開口から前記コネクタハウジングの一方の側壁の途中まで上半分において連続する側壁開口が形成されると共に前記側壁開口の下側開口端面から上方に向けてテーパ付き突起が立設され、かつ、前記端子が前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される位置で前記端子における前記一方の側壁のテーパ付き突起に対向する部位には、前記テーパ付き突起が入り込むテーパ付き係合凹部が形成されており、
     前記コネクタハウジングにおける前記一方の側壁の反対側の他方の側壁には、テーパ付き穴が形成され、かつ、前記端子が前記コネクタハウジングの内部に保持される位置で前記端子における前記他方の側壁の前記テーパ付き穴に対向する部位には、前記テーパ付き穴に入り込むテーパ付き突起が形成され、
     前記端子が、前記テーパ同士の作用で前記端子の挿入方向と直角な方向にスライドして前記コネクタハウジング内に保持される抜け防止コネクタ。
  2.  前記コネクタハウジングの前記側壁開口が形成されている側の側壁からコネクタハウジングの内部空間内に延びる案内突出部が形成され、前記案内突出部と前記端子のピンが接触し、かつ、前記端子のテーパ付き突起が前記コネクタハウジングの内壁と接触することで、前記端子が規制されながら挿入が行われる抜け防止コネクタ。
