As shown in FIG. 17, the irradiation fiber 35 is in contact with the light receiving fiber 236 on the side surface.
- the light receiving fiber 236 can move in both forward and backward directions along the longitudinal direction corresponding to the optical axis direction in the probe 203 by the moving process of the moving unit 350 as indicated by an arrow Y20 in FIG. As indicated by an arrow Y21 in FIG. 18, the light receiving fiber 236 is moved by the moving unit 350 so that the tip of the light receiving fiber 236 is positioned closer to the base end side of the irradiation fiber 35 than the tip of the irradiation fiber 35. - the detector 24 detects return light incident from the tip of the light receiving fiber 236 at the first position and return light incident from the tip of the light receiving fiber 236 at the second position.
- the analysis unit 27a measures the characteristics of the object based on the detection results by the detection unit 24 corresponding to the first position and the second position.
- the light receiving fiber 236 since the light receiving fiber 236 is moved in the longitudinal direction, a single light receiving fiber 236 and a single photodetector can acquire scattered light from multiple angles.
