Abstract

 電気負荷にシステムメインリレー(SMR1,SMR2)を介して並列接続される2つの電池(B1,B2)を備えた車両の制御装置は、システムメインリレーのオンオフを制御して電池間の通電経路であるループ経路を形成し、ループ経路形成時の電流センサ(115)の検出値ib1を循環電流ibloopに設定し、この循環電流ibloopに基づいて電池間の電圧差を検出する。

Description

車両の電力制御装置および車両の電力制御方法
 この発明は、電気負荷に並列に接続可能な複数の電池を備えた車両の電力制御に関する。
 近年、環境に配慮した自動車として、電気自動車やハイブリッド自動車のように、蓄電装置に蓄積された電力でモータを駆動して走行する車両が実用化されている。
 このような車両では、走行可能な距離を伸ばすためには、蓄電装置の大容量化が必要となる。蓄電装置を大容量にするには、多数の電池を並列接続して使用することも考えられる。しかしながら、複数の電池を並列に搭載する場合には、各電池の電圧に差が大きいと、高い電圧の電池から低い電圧の電池に向けて過大電流が流れてしまう。
 このような問題に鑑み、たとえば特開2008-220084号公報(特許文献1)には、電気負荷に並列接続可能な複数のバッテリと、複数のバッテリと電気負荷との間にそれぞれ接続されて電圧変換を行なう複数のコンバータとを備える車両において、複数のコンバータを動作させて複数のバッテリ間の電圧差を減少させた後、複数のバッテリを電気負荷に並列接続させる技術が開示されている。

 しかしながら、特許文献1の技術は、複数のバッテリを複数のコンバータを介して電気負荷に接続可能に構成し、それらのコンバータを制御することを必要とする技術である。そのため、特許文献1の技術は、複雑な回路構成および制御を必要とするだけでなく、複数のバッテリを複数のコンバータを介さずに単純に電気負荷に並列接続する構成には適用できない。
 本発明は、上述の課題を解決するためになされたものであって、その目的は、電気負荷に並列に接続可能な複数の電池を備えた車両において、複数の電池間の電圧差を簡易な制御で高精度に検出することである。
 この発明に係る車両の電力制御装置は、電気負荷に並列に接続可能な複数の電池を備えた車両の電力を制御する。この電力制御装置は、複数の電池間を結ぶ通電経路上に設けられた開閉回路および抵抗素子と、開閉回路を制御する制御装置とを含む。制御装置は、通電経路を形成するように開閉回路を制御し、通電経路を形成した状態で複数の電池間を流れる循環電流を検出し、循環電流に基づいて複数の電池間の電圧差を判定する。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、循環電流の絶対値が第1判定値よりも大きい場合に電圧差が所定値を越えると判定し、電圧差が所定値を越えると判定した場合は循環電流が流れる向きに基づいて複数の電池の電圧の大小関係を判定する。
 好ましくは、複数の電池は、第1電池および第2電池で構成される。制御装置は、第1電池から第2電池に放電される方向に循環電流が流れる場合、第1電池の電圧が第2電池の電圧よりも大きいと判定する。
 好ましくは、開閉回路は、複数の電池の一方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第1リレーおよび第2リレーと、複数の電池の他方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第3リレーとを含む。第2リレーは、抵抗素子に直列に接続されるとともに、第2リレーは、抵抗素子とともに第1リレーに並列に接続される。制御装置は、第2リレーおよび第3リレーをオンして抵抗素子を経由する通電経路を形成した状態で循環電流を検出し、循環電流に基づいて判定した電圧の大小関係に応じて第1、第2および第3リレーを制御して複数の電池と電気負荷との接続状態を切り替える。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、接続状態を、複数の電池のいずれか1つが電気負荷に接続される状態、および、複数の電池の2つ以上が電気負荷に並列に接続される状態のいずれかの状態に切り替える。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、車両の走行制御中または複数の電池の充電制御中に接続状態を切り替える。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、車両の走行制御中に、複数の電池のうちの電圧の高い電池の電力から消費されるように接続状態を切り替える。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、複数の電池の充電制御中に、複数の電池のうちの電圧の低い電池から充電されるように接続状態を切り替える。
 好ましくは、制御装置は、車両の走行制御中または複数の電池の充電制御中に複数の電池をそれぞれ流れる複数の電流に基づいて複数の電池間を電流が循環している循環状態であるか否かを判定し、循環状態であると判定した場合に循環電流を検出する。
 好ましくは、複数の電池は、第1電池および第2電池で構成される。制御装置は、第1電池を流れる第1電流の絶対値と第2電池を流れる第2電流の絶対値との差が第2判定値よりも小さいという第1条件と、第1電流および第2電流のうちの一方の電流が放電方向に流れかつ他方の電流が充電方向に流れるという第2条件との双方の条件が成立した場合に、循環状態であると判定する。
 好ましくは、複数の電池は、第1電池および第2電池で構成される。車両は、第1電池の一方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第1リレーと、第2電池の一方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第2リレーとをさらに備える。開閉回路は、第1電池の他方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第3リレーと、第2電池の他方の極と電気負荷との間に設けられる第4リレーとを含む。抵抗素子は、第1電池の一方の極および第1リレーの間の点と第2電池の一方の極および第2リレーの間の点とを結ぶ接続線上に設けられる。
 好ましくは、複数の電池は、第1電池および第2電池で構成される。車両は、第1電池と電気負荷との間に設けられる第1コンバータと、第2電池と電気負荷との間に設けられる第2コンバータとをさらに備える。制御装置は、開閉回路、第1コンバータおよび第2コンバータを制御して通電経路を形成する。
 この発明の別の局面に係る車両の電力制御方法は、電気負荷に並列に接続される複数の電池と、複数の電池間を結ぶ通電経路上に設けられた開閉回路および抵抗素子とを備えた車両の制御装置が行なう電力制御方法であって、通電経路を形成するように開閉回路を制御するステップと、通電経路を閉じた状態で複数の電池間を流れる循環電流を検出するステップと、循環電流に基づいて複数の電池間の電圧差を判定するステップとを含む。
 本発明によれば、開閉回路(リレー)を制御して複数の電池間を結ぶ通電経路を形成し、その状態で電池間を流れる循環電流を検出した値に基づいて電池間の電圧差を判定する。そのため、開閉回路を制御するという簡易な制御によって電圧差を高精度で検出できる。

 以下、本発明の実施例について、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。なお、図中同一または相当部分には同一符号を付してその説明は繰り返さない。
 [実施例1]
 図1は、実施例1に従う電力制御装置を搭載した車両100の全体ブロック図である。
 図1を参照して、車両100は、第1電源110および第2電源110Aとで構成される電源装置と、駆動装置(電気負荷)であるPCU(Power Control Unit)120およびモータジェネレータ(MG)130と、動力伝達ギア140と、駆動輪150と、制御装置であるECU(Electronic Control Unit)300とを備える。
 なお、図1に示す車両100には、モータジェネレータが1つ設けられる構成が示されるが、モータジェネレータの数はこれに限定されず、モータジェネレータを複数設けてもよい。また、動力源として、モータジェネレータの他にエンジン(図示せず)を搭載してもよい。すなわち、本発明は、エンジンおよびモータジェネレータにより駆動力を発生するハイブリッド自動車、エンジンを搭載しない電気自動車および燃料電池自動車などを含めた電動車両全般に適用可能である。
 第1電源110は、電池B1と、システムメインリレーSMR1(以下、単に「SMR1」という)とを含む。
 電池B1は、充放電可能に構成される。電池B1は、たとえば、リチウムイオン電池、ニッケル水素電池あるいは鉛蓄電池などの二次電池や、電気二重層キャパシタなどの蓄電素子を含んで構成される。
 電池B1は、電力線PL1および接地線NL1を介してPCU120に接続される。そして、電池B1は、車両100の駆動力を発生させるための電力をPCU120に供給する。また、電池B1は、MG130で発電された電力を蓄電する。電池B1はたとえば200ボルト程度の電圧を出力する。
 SMR1は、リレーH1,P1,L1と、抵抗R1とを含む。リレーH1,L1は、一方端が電池B1の正極および負極にそれぞれ接続され、他方端が第1電源110とPCU120とを結ぶ電力線PL1および接地線NL1にそれぞれ接続される。また、リレーP1は、直列に接続された抵抗R1とともに、リレーH1に並列に接続される。そして、リレーH1,P1,L1は、ECU300からの制御信号SH1,SP1,SL1によってそれぞれ独立して制御され、電池B1とPCU120との間の接続と遮断とを切替える。
 なお、抵抗R1は、SMR1をオンする(閉じる)際に、コンデンサC1を充電するために急激に流れる突入電流を低減するための減流抵抗として機能する。SMR1をオンする際は、まずリレーL1およびP1がオンされる。そして、低電流によってコンデンサC1が充電された後に、リレーH1がオンされるとともにリレーP1がオフ(開放)される。
 第2電源110Aは、PCU120に対して第1電源110と並列に接続される。第2電源110Aは、電池B2と、システムメインリレーSMR2(以下、単に「SMR2」という)とを含む。SMR2は、リレーH2,P2,L2と、抵抗R2とを含む。電池B2、リレーH2,P2,L2、抵抗R2の構成および機能は、それぞれ上述した電池B1、リレーH1,P1,L1、抵抗R1と同じであるため、詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 PCU120は、コンバータ121と、インバータ122と、コンデンサC1,C2とを含む。
 コンバータ121は、電力線PL1および接地線NL1と、電力線HPLおよび接地線NL1とに接続される。コンバータ121は、ECU300からの制御信号PWCにより制御され、電力線PL1および接地線NL1と、電力線HPLおよび接地線NL1との間で電圧変換を行なう。
 インバータ122は、電力線HPLおよび接地線NL1を介してコンバータ121に接続される。インバータ122は、ECU300からの制御信号PWIによって制御され、コンバータ121から供給される直流電力を、MG130を駆動するための交流電力に変換する。また、インバータ122は、MG130により発電された交流電力を、電池B1,B2の充電が可能な直流電力に変換する。
 コンデンサC1は、電力線PL1および接地線NL1の間に接続され、電力線PL1および接地線NL1の間の電圧変動を低減する。コンデンサC2は、電力線HPLと接地線NL1との間に接続され、電力線HPLと接地線NL1との間の電圧変動を低減する。
 MG130は交流回転電機であり、たとえば、永久磁石が埋設されたロータを備える永久磁石型同期電動機である。
 MG130の出力トルクは、減速機や動力分割機構によって構成される動力伝達ギア140を介して駆動輪150に伝達されて、車両100を走行させる。MG130は、車両100の回生制動動作時には、駆動輪150の回転力によって発電することができる。そして、その発電電力は、PCU120によって電源装置(電池B1,B2)の充電電力に変換される。
 さらに、車両100は、電圧センサ112,112A、電流センサ114,115,116を備える。電圧センサ112は、電池B1の電圧V1を検出する。電圧センサ112Aは、電池B1の電圧V2を検出する。電流センサ114は、PCU120と電源装置(電池B1,B2)との間を流れる電流isを検出する。電流センサ115は、電池B1を流れる電流ib1を検出する。電流センサ116は、電池B2を流れる電流ib2を検出する。これらの各センサは、検出結果をECU300に出力する。
 なお、以下では、電池B1から放電される方向に電流ib1が流れる場合に電流ib1が正の値となり、電池B1に充電される方向に電流ib1が流れる場合に電流ib1が負の値となるものとして説明する。同様に、電池B2から放電される方向に電流ib2が流れる場合に電流ib2が正の値となり、電池B2に充電される方向に電流ib2が流れる場合に電流ib2が負となるものとして説明する。
 ECU300は、いずれも図1には図示しないがCPU(Central Processing Unit)およびメモリを含み、メモリに記憶された情報や各センサ等からの信号に基づいて各機器を制御するための制御信号を生成する。ECU300は、生成した制御信号を各機器へ出力することによって車両100および各機器の制御を行なう。これらの制御については、ソフトウェアによる処理に限られず、専用のハードウェア(電子回路)で処理することも可能である。
 なお、図1においては、ECU300を1つのユニットとして示しているが、機能や制御対象に応じて2つ以上のユニットに分割してもよい。
 さらに、車両100は、車両外部からの電力によって電池B1,B2を充電するための構成として、充電装置200と、コネクタ210とを含む。
 コネクタ210は、外部電源400からの交流電力を受けるために、車両100のボディに設けられる。コネクタ210は、外部電源400に接続された充電コネクタ410が接続可能に構成される。充電コネクタ410がコネクタ210に接続されることによって、外部電源400からの交流電力が充電装置200に伝達される。
 充電装置200は、ECU300からの制御信号PWEに基づいて外部電源400からの交流電力を電池B1,B2へ充電可能な直流電力に変換し、変換した直流電力をSMR1、SMR2を介して電池B1,B2に供給する(以下、この制御を「外部充電制御」という)。すなわち、車両100は、外部電源400の電力で電池B1,B2を充電することが可能な、いわゆるプラグイン車両である。
 ところで、電池B1,B2を長時間使用せずに放置した場合や電池B1,B2の一方を新品に交換した場合には、電池B1の電圧V1と電池B2の電圧V2との間に電圧差ΔVが生じる場合がある。この電圧差ΔVが許容値を越える状態で電池B1,B2を並列に接続すると電池B1,B2間の短絡が発生してしまう。したがって、電圧差ΔVを精度よく検出し、検出した電圧差ΔVに応じて電池B1,B2の接続状態を制御する必要がある。
 電圧差ΔVは、電圧センサ112,112Aの検出値から検出することも可能であるが、一般的に電圧センサの検出値には比較的大きな誤差が含まれているため、電圧差ΔVの検出精度は低くなってしまう。
 そこで、ECU300は、SMR1,SMR2を制御して電池B1,B2間で電流が循環可能な通電経路(以下、「ループ経路」ともいう)を形成し、ループ経路形成時の電流センサ115の検出値ib1に基づいて電圧差ΔVを検出する。そして、ECU300は、電圧差ΔVの検出結果に応じて電池B1,B2の接続状態を制御する。
 図2は、電圧差ΔVの検出および電池B1,B2の接続に関する部分のECU300の機能ブロック図である。図2に示した各機能ブロックは、電子回路等によるハードウェア処理によって実現してもよいし、プログラムの実行等によるソフトウェア処理によって実現してもよい。
 ECU300は、ループ制御部310、電流取得部320、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340、接続制御部350を含む。
 ループ制御部310は、所定条件が成立した場合に、ループ経路を形成するようにSMR1,SMR2の各リレーのオンオフ状態を設定する制御(以下、「ループ制御」ともいう)を行なう。ここで、所定条件は、たとえば、電源装置(電池B1,B2)とPCU120との間で電流が流れていない(たとえば車両停止中である)という条件にすればよい。
 図3は、ループ制御中のSMR1,SMR2の各リレーのオンオフ状態を例示した図である。図3に示すように、ループ制御部310は、負極側のリレーL1,L2をオンするとともに、正極側のリレーH1,P1,H2、P2のうちのリレーP1,P2をオンしリレーH1,H2をオフする。これにより、電池B1,B2の負極間がリレーL1,L2経由で接続されるとともに、電池B1,B2の正極間がリレーP1,P2、抵抗R1,R2経由で接続されて、ループ経路が形成される。
 ループ経路形成時に電圧差ΔVが所定値を越えている場合には、図3に示すように、ループ経路を電流が循環する。以下では、ループ経路を循環する電流を「循環電流ibloop」と記載する。図3に示すように、ループ経路に抵抗R1,R2を含ませることで、循環電流ibloopの大きさが低減されるため、ループ経路の形成時に電池B1,B2間に急激に大電流が流れることを抑制することができる。
 図3に示す例では、電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高いために、電池B1から電池B2に放電される方向に循環電流ibloopが流れる場合が示される。電圧V2が電圧V1よりも高い場合は、循環電流ibloopが流れる向きは図3に示す向きとは逆となる。
 図2に戻って、電流取得部320は、ループ経路形成時に電流センサ115が検出した電流ib1を取得し、その値を循環電流ibloopに設定する。
 電圧差判定部330は、循環電流ibloopの絶対値に基づいて電圧差ΔVの有無を判定する。また、電圧差判定部330は、電圧差ΔVがある(電圧差ΔVが所定値を超える)と判定した場合、循環電流ibloopの値の符号(すなわち循環電流ibloopの流れる方向)に基づいて電圧V1,V2間の大小関係を判定する。各判定手法の詳細は後述する。
 モード設定部340は、電圧差判定部330の判定結果を受けて、PCU120に対する電池B1,B2の並列接続の可否を決めるための接続モードを設定する。接続モードは、並列接続を禁止するシングルモード、並列接続を許可するダブルモードのいずれかに設定される。
 接続制御部350は、モード設定部340が設定した接続モードに基づいてSMR1、SMR2を制御して電池B1,B2の接続状態を制御する。接続モードがシングルモードである場合は、接続制御部350は、SMR1、SMR2の双方をオンすることを禁止して電池B1,B2の並列接続を禁止する。接続モードがダブルモードである場合は、接続制御部350は、SMR1、SMR2の双方をオンすることを許可して電池B1,B2の並列接続を許可する。
 図4は、上述のループ制御部310、電流取得部320、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340の機能を実現するためのECU300の処理手順を示すフローチャートである。以下に示すフローチャートの各ステップ(以下、ステップを「S」と略す)は、上述したようにハードウェア処理によって実現してもよいしソフトウェア処理によって実現してもよい。
 S1にて、ECU300は、車両停止中であるか否かを判断する。この判断は、上述した所定条件、すなわち電源装置とPCU120との間で電流が流れていないという条件の成否を判断するための処理である。
 車両停止中であると(S1にてYES)、ECU300は、電源装置とPCU120との間で電流が流れていないと判断し、S2にてリレーL1、L2、P1、P2をオンし、リレーH1、H2をオフする。これにより、電池B1,B2間のループ経路が形成される。
 S3にて、ECU300は、電流センサ115が検出した電流ib1を取得し、取得した電流ib1を循環電流ibloopに設定する。
 S4にて、ECU300は、循環電流ibloopの絶対値がしきい値Aよりも大きいか否かを判断する。しきい値Aは、電圧差ΔVの有無(電圧差ΔVが所定値よりも大きいか否か)を判定するための値である。
 循環電流ibloopの絶対値がしきい値Aよりも大きい場合(S4にてYES)、ECU300は、電圧差ΔVがある(電圧差ΔVが所定値よりも大きい)と判断し、S5にて接続モードをシングルモードに設定する。なお、シングルモードが設定された場合は、上述したように電池B1,B2の並列接続が禁止される。
 一方、循環電流ibloopの絶対値がしきい値Aよりも小さい場合、ECU300は、電圧差ΔVがない(電圧差ΔVが所定値よりも小さい)と判断し、S6にて接続モードをダブルモードに設定する。なお、ダブルモードが設定された場合は、上述したように電池B1,B2の並列接続が許可される。
 S5の処理で接続モードをシングルモードに設定した場合には、ECU300は、S7にて、循環電流ibloopが正であるか否かを判断する。
 循環電流ibloop(すなわち電流ib1)が正の値である場合(S5にてYES)、ECU300は、電池B1から電池B2に放電されている状態(すなわち循環電流ibloopが図3に示す向きと同じ向きに流れている状態)であると判断し、S8にて、電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高いと判定する。
 一方、循環電流ibloop(すなわち電流ib1)が負の値である場合(S5にてNO)、ECU300は、電池B2から電池B1に放電されている状態(すなわち循環電流ibloopが図3に示す向きとは逆の向きに流れている状態)であると判断し、S9にて、電圧V2が電圧V1よりも高いと判定する。
 以上のように、実施例1に従うECU300は、SMR1,SMR2を制御して電池B1,B2間のループ経路を形成し、ループ経路形成時の電流センサ115の検出値ib1に基づいて電池B1,B2間の電圧差ΔVを検出する。そのため、比較的大きな誤差を含む電圧センサ112,112Aの検出値から電圧差ΔVを検出する場合に比べて、高精度で電池B1,B2間の電圧差ΔVを検出することができる。
 なお、本実施例は、たとえば以下のように変更することもできる。
 図4のS3の処理にて、電流センサ115が検出した電流ib1に代えて、電流センサ116が検出した電流ib2を循環電流ibloopに設定するようにしてもよい。この場合は、S8にて電圧V2が電圧V1よりも高いと判定し、S9にて電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高いと判定するように変更すればよい。また、電流ib1および電流ib2のいずれか一方を選択可能にしてもよい。選択可能とすることで、電流センサ115,116のいずれか一方が故障しても循環電流ibloopを精度よく検出できる。
 また、図4のS2の処理にて、オンオフするリレーの組合せを変更してもよい。変更する組合せとしては、以下の2通りが考えられる。1つめは、リレーL1、L2、H1、P2をオンし、リレーP1、H2をオフするで組合せある。2つめは、リレーL1、L2、P1、H2をオンし、リレーH1、P2をオフする組合せである。これらの組合せでは、抵抗R1,R2のいずれか一方のみがループ経路に含まれるようになる。そのため、抵抗R1,R2の双方をループ経路に含める場合に比べて、循環電流ibloopを大きくすることができ、電圧差ΔVの検出精度を向上させることができる。
 また、SMR1に設けられるプリチャージ回路(リレーP1および抵抗R1)と、SMR2に設けられるプリチャージ回路(リレーP2および抵抗R2)とのうち、いずれか一方が設けられていれば、他方は省略することも可能である。
 [実施例2]
 実施例1では、車両停止中に、電圧差ΔVの検出および接続モードの設定を行なう構成について説明した。これに対し、実施例2では、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に、電圧差ΔVの検出および接続モードの設定を行なって電池B1,B2の接続状態を制御する。
 図5は、実施例2に従うECU300Aの機能ブロック図である。なお、図5に示した機能ブロックのうち、前述の図2に示した機能ブロックと同じ符号を付している機能ブロックについては、既に説明したため詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 ECU300Aは、ループ制御部310A、電流取得部320、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340、接続制御部350Aを含む。
 ループ制御部310Aは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に、接続モードがシングルモードであると、開始条件成立時に上述したループ制御を行なってループ経路を形成する。ここで、開始条件は、たとえば、電源装置(電池B1,B2)とPCU120の間または電源装置(電池B1,B2)と充電装置200との間で電流が流れていない状態であるという条件にすることができる。この場合、車両の走行制御中では、たとえば車両に要求されるトルクが0でかつMG130が発電していない場合に開始条件が成立し得る。また、可能な時点でPCU120または充電装置200を制御して開始条件を一時的に成立させるようにしてもよい。
 接続制御部350Aは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に、電圧差判定部330の判定結果およびモード設定部340が設定した接続モードに基づいてSMR1、SMR2を制御して電池B1,B2の接続状態を制御する。
 図6は、上述のループ制御部310A、電流取得部320、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340の機能を実現するためのECU300Aの処理手順を示すフローチャートである。なお、図6に示したステップのうち、前述の図4に示したステップと同じ番号を付しているステップについては、既に説明したため詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 S10にて、ECU300Aは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中であるか否かを判断する。車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中であると(S10にてYES)、処理はS11に移される。そうでないと(S10にてNO)、この処理は終了される。
 S11にて、ECU300Aは、接続モードがシングルモードであるか否かを判断する。接続モードがシングルモードであると(S11にてYES)、処理はS12に移される。そうでないと(S11にてNO)、この処理は終了される。
 S12にて、ECU300Aは、上述した開始条件が成立したか否かを判断する。開始条件が成立すると(S12にてYES)、処理はS13に移される。そうでないと(S12にてNO)、この処理は終了される。
 S13にて、ECU300Aは、電池B1の接続中であるか否かを判断する。
 電池B1の接続中、すなわちSMR1のリレーH1,L1のオン中であると(S13にてYES)、ECU300Aは、S14にて、さらにSMR2のリレーL2、P2をオンする。これにより、抵抗R2を経由するループ経路が形成される。
 電池B2の接続中、すなわちSMR2のリレーH2,L2のオン中であると(S13にてNO)、ECU300Aは、S15にて、さらにSMR1のリレーL1、P1をオンする。これにより、抵抗R1を経由するループ経路が形成される。
 ループ経路が形成されると、ECU300Aは、上述の図4で説明したS3~S9の処理を行なって、循環電流ibloopに基づく接続モードの設定と電圧V1,V2の大小関係の判定を行なう。
 図7は、上述の接続制御部350Aの機能を実現するためのECU300Aの処理手順を示すフローチャートである。
 S20にて、ECU300Aは、車両の走行要求があるか否かを判断する。車両の走行要求があると(S20にてYES)、処理はS21に移される。
 S21にて、ECU300Aは、上述のS5の処理で接続モードがシングルモードに設定されているか否かを判断する。
 シングルモードの場合(S21にてYES)、ECU300Aは、S22にて、上述のS8の処理で電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高いと判定されたか否かを判断する。電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高い場合(S22にてYES)、処理はS23に移される。電圧V2が電圧V1よりも高い場合と(S22にてNO)、処理はS24に移される。
 S23にて、ECU300Aは、SMR1をオンして電池B1とPCU120とを接続するとともに、SMR2をオフして電池B2とPCU120との間の接続を遮断する。S24にて、ECU300Aは、SMR2をオンして電池B2とPCU120とを接続するとともに、SMR1をオフして電池B1とPCU120との間の接続を遮断する。
 すなわち、車両の走行要求がある場合(車両の走行制御中)は、接続モードがシングルモードに設定されている間は、電池B1,B2のうちの電圧が高い方の電池がPCU120に接続される。これにより、電圧の高い方の電池の電力から優先的に消費されるので、電圧差Δが小さくなる。これに伴ない、循環電流ibloopが減少していく。
 一方、接続モードがダブルモードの場合(S21にてNO)、ECU300Aは、SMR1、SMR2をともにオンして電池B1,B2の双方をPCU120に並列接続する。
 たとえば、シングルモードで循環電流ibloopがしきい値よりも小さくなった場合にはその時点で接続モードがシングルモードからダブルモードに変更され、電池B1または電池B2の単独接続から電池B1,B2の並列接続に移行される。そのため、車両の走行制御中において、一方の電池の電力による走行状態から双方の電池の電力による走行状態に移行させることができる。
 車両の走行要求がない場合(S20にてNO)、ECU300Aは、S26にて、外部充電要求があるか否かを判断する。たとえば、ECU300Aは、充電コネクタ410がコネクタ210に接続された場合に外部充電要求があると判断すればよい。外部充電要求があると(S26にてYES)、処理はS27に移される。そうでないと(S26にてNO)、処理は終了される。
 S27にて、ECU300Aは、上述のS5の処理で接続モードがシングルモードに設定されているか否かを判断する。
 シングルモードの場合(S27にてYES)、ECU300Aは、S28にて、上述のS8の処理で電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高いと判定されたか否かを判断する。電圧V1が電圧V2よりも高い場合(S28にてYES)、ECU300Aは、S24にて、SMR2をオンして電池B2と充電装置200とを接続する。電圧V2が電圧V1よりも高い場合(S28にてNO)、ECU300Aは、S23にて、SMR1をオンして電池B1と充電装置200とを接続する。
 すなわち、外部充電要求がある場合(外部充電制御中)は、接続モードがシングルモードに設定されている間は、電池B1,B2のうちの電圧が低い方の電池が充電装置200に接続される。これにより、電圧の低い方の電池から優先的に充電されるので、電圧差Δが小さくなる。これに伴ない、循環電流ibloopが減少していく。
 一方、ダブルモードの場合(S27にてNO)、ECU300Aは、S25にて、SMR1、SMR2をともにオンして電池B1,B2の双方と充電装置200とを接続する。
 たとえば、シングルモードで循環電流ibloopがしきい値よりも小さくなった場合にはその時点で接続モードがシングルモードからダブルモードに変更され、電池B1,B2の双方の電池が並列接続される。そのため、外部充電制御中において、一方の電池しか充電できない状態から双方の電池を充電できる状態に移行させることができる。
 以上のように、実施例2に従うECU300Aは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に実施例1と同様の手法で電圧差ΔVの検出する。そして、ECU300Aは、電圧差ΔVが所定値よりも大きい場合、電池B1,B2のうち電圧差ΔVを小さくさせる方の電池(すなわち走行制御中であれば電圧が高い方の電池、充電制御中であれば電圧が低い方の電池)を選択して接続する。これにより、電圧差ΔVがあっても車両の走行および電池の充電が可能になるとともに、電圧差ΔVを減少させることができる。
 さらに、ECU300Aは、一方の電池を接続した状態で電圧差ΔVが所定値よりも小さくなった時点で、双方の電池を並列接続した状態に移行させる。これにより、双方の電池を有効に利用した走行または充電が可能となる。
 なお、本実施例2においても、実施例1と同様、図6のS3の処理において、電流ib1に代えて電流ib2を循環電流ibloopに設定するようにしてもよい。
 [実施例3]
 実施例1または実施例2では、電流ib1,ib2のいずれか一方を活用して電圧差ΔVを判定する構成について説明した。これに対し、実施例3では、電流ib1,ib2双方を活用して電圧差ΔVを判定する。
 図8は、実施例3に従うECU300Bの機能ブロック図である。なお、図8に示した機能ブロックのうち、前述の図2に示した機能ブロックと同じ符号を付している機能ブロックについては、既に説明したため詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 ECU300Bは、ループ制御部310B、電流取得部320B、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340、接続制御部350を含む。
 ループ制御部310Bは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に、接続モードがシングルモードであると、上述したループ制御を行なってループ経路を形成する。
 電流取得部320Bは、ループ経路形成時に、電流センサ115,116から電流ib1,ib2をそれぞれ取得し、取得した電流ib1,ib2が設定条件を満たすか否かを判定する。この設定条件は、実際に電池B1,B2間で電流が循環している循環状態であるか否かを判定するための条件である。本実施例3では、設定条件は、電流ib1の絶対値と電流ib2の絶対値との差がしきい値Bよりも小さく、かつ、電流ib1の符号と電流ib2の符号とが異なるという条件に設定される。
 そして、電流取得部320Bは、電流ib1,ib2が設定条件を満たす時(実際に循環状態である時)の電流ib1を循環電流ibloopに設定する。
 図9は、上述のループ制御部310B、電流取得部320B、電圧差判定部330、モード設定部340の機能を実現するためのECU300Bの処理手順を示すフローチャートである。なお、図9に示したステップのうち、前述の図4、6に示したステップと同じ番号を付しているステップについては、既に説明したため詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 S30にて、ECU300Bは、電流ib1の絶対値と電流ib2の絶対値との差がしきい値Bよりも小さいか否かを判断する。
 S31にて、ECU300Bは、電流ib1の符号を示す関数sgn(ib1)と電流ib2の符号を示す関数sgn(ib2)とが異なるか否かを判断する。
 電流ib1の絶対値と電流ib2の絶対値との差がしきい値Bよりも小さく(S30にてYES)、かつ、関数sgn(ib1)と関数sgn(ib2)とが異なる場合(S31にてYES)、ECU300Bは、実際に循環状態にあると判断して、処理をS3以降に移して、電流ib1を循環電流ibloopに設定し、循環電流ibloopによる電圧差ΔVの判定を行なう。
 一方、電流ib1の絶対値と電流ib2の絶対値との差がしきい値Bよりも大きい場合(S30にてNO)、または、関数sgn(ib1)と関数sgn(ib2)とが同じ場合(S31にてNO)、ECU300Bは、実際に循環状態にないと判断して、処理を終了させ、循環電流ibloopの設定および循環電流ibloopによる電圧差ΔVの判定を行なわない。
 以上のように、実施例3に従うECU300Bは、車両の走行制御中または外部充電制御中に、ループ経路を形成し、電流ib1,ib2を用いて実際に循環状態であるのか否かを判定する。そして、ECU300Bは、実際に循環状態であると判定した時の電流ib1を循環電流ibloopに設定する。そのため、電池B1,B2と負荷(PCU130、充電装置200)との間を流れる電流が循環電流ibloopに誤って設定されることを回避し、循環電流ibloopの検出精度を向上させることができる。そのため、電圧差ΔVHの誤判定を防ぐことができる。
 また、ECU300Bは、2つの電流センサ115,116の検出値が設定条件を満たす場合に電圧差ΔVHの判定を行なう。そのため、1つの電流センサのみを用いて電圧差ΔVHの判定を行なう場合に比べて、電流センサの故障による誤判定を防ぐことができる。すなわち、1つの電流センサのみを用いて電圧差ΔVHの判定を行なう場合には、その電流センサが故障すると、故障した電流センサの検出値を用いて電圧差ΔVHの判定が行なわれるため誤判定が生じる。これに対し、本実施例3においては、1つの電流センサに故障が生じた場合には、設定条件が満たされなくなり電圧差ΔVHの判定そのものが行なわれなくなるため、誤判定を回避することができる。
 [実施例1~3の変形例1]
 実施例1~3に示した車両100の構成は、以下のように変更してもよい。
 図10は、変形例1に従う車両100Aの全体ブロック図である。車両100Aは、図1に示す車両100に対して、一端が電池B1の正極とリレーH1,P1との間の点に接続され、他端が電池B2の正極とリレーH2,P2との間の点に接続される接続線と、その接続線上に設けられた外部抵抗R3と、その接続線を流れる電流ib12を検出する電流センサ117を追加したものである。
 このような車両100Aの構成では、負極側のリレーL1,L2をオンするだけで、電池B1,B2間に外部抵抗R3を経由するループ経路を形成することができる。そのため、正極側のリレーH1,P1,H2,P2をオンすることなく(実際に電池B1,B2をPCU120および充電装置200に接続することなく)、電圧差ΔVを検出することができる。
 なお、一端が電池B1の負極とリレーL1との間の点に接続され、他端が電池B2の負極とリレーL2との間の点に接続される接続線を設け、その接続線上に外部抵抗R3を設けるようにしてもよい。
 また、電流センサ117が検出する電流ib12を循環電流ibloopに設定するようにしてもよい。
 [実施例1~3の変形例2]
 実施例1~3に示した車両100は1つのコンバータ121を備えていたが、2つのコンバータを備えるようにしてもよい。
 図11は、変形例2に従う車両100Bの全体ブロック図である。なお、図11に示した構成のうち、前述の図1に示した構成と同じ符号を付している構成については、既に説明したため詳細な説明はここでは繰り返さない。
 図11を参照して、車両100Bは、車両100のPCU120に代えてPCU120Aを備えるとともに、コンバータ121-1,121-2を備える。
 PCU120Aは、PCU120に対して、コンバータ121およびコンデンサC1を除いたものである。
 コンバータ121-1は、第1電源110とPCU120との間に設けられる。コンバータ121-1は、スイッチング素子Q1,Q2と、ダイオードD1,D2と、リアクトルLA1とを含む。スイッチング素子Q1およびリアクトルLA1は、直列に接続され、電力線PL1と第1電源110の正極との間に設けられる。スイッチング素子Q2は、一方端がスイッチング素子Q1およびリアクトルLA1の間の点に接続され、他方端が接地線NL1に設けられる。ダイオードD1は、第1電源110からPCU120に向かう方向を順方向としてスイッチング素子Q1に並列に接続される。ダイオードD2は、第1電源110の負極からリアクトルLA1に向かう方向を順方向としてスイッチング素子Q2に並列に接続される。
 コンバータ121-2は、第2電源110AとPCU120Aとの間に設けられる。コンバータ121-2は、スイッチング素子Q3,Q4と、ダイオードD3,D4と、リアクトルLA2とを含む。スイッチング素子Q3,Q4、ダイオードD3,D4、リアクトルLA2の構成および機能は、それぞれ上述したスイッチング素子Q1,Q2、ダイオードD1,D2、リアクトルLA1と同じであるため、詳細な説明は繰り返さない。
 このような車両100Aの構成では、SMR1,SMR2に加えて、コンバータ121-1,121-2を制御して、電池B1,B2間のループ経路を形成するようにすればよい。たとえば、リレーL1,L2,P1,P2をオンするとともに、コンバータ121-1のスイッチング素子Q1およびコンバータ121-2のスイッチング素子Q3をオンすることによって、ループ経路を形成することができる。このようにルール経路を形成した状態で、実施例1~3で説明した手法で電圧差ΔVの判定を行なえばよい。
 今回開示された実施例はすべての点で例示であって制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。本発明の範囲は上記した説明ではなくて請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味および範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。

Claims (13)

  1.  電気負荷(120、130)に並列に接続可能な複数の電池(B1、B2)を備えた車両の電力制御装置であって、
     前記複数の電池間を結ぶ通電経路上に設けられた開閉回路(P1、L1、P2、L2)および抵抗素子(R1、R2、R3)と、
     前記開閉回路を制御する制御装置(300、300A、300B)とを含み、
     前記制御装置は、前記通電経路を形成するように前記開閉回路を制御し、前記通電経路を形成した状態で前記複数の電池間を流れる循環電流を検出し、前記循環電流に基づいて前記複数の電池間の電圧差を判定する、車両の電力制御装置。
  2.  前記制御装置は、前記循環電流の絶対値が第1判定値よりも大きい場合に前記電圧差が所定値を越えると判定し、前記電圧差が前記所定値を越えると判定した場合は前記循環電流が流れる向きに基づいて前記複数の電池の電圧の大小関係を判定する、請求の範囲第1項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  3.  前記複数の電池は、第1電池(B1)および第2電池(B2)で構成され、
     前記制御装置は、前記第1電池から前記第2電池に放電される方向に前記循環電流が流れる場合、前記第1電池の電圧が前記第2電池の電圧よりも大きいと判定する、請求の範囲第2項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  4.  前記開閉回路は、
     前記複数の電池の一方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第1リレー(H1、H2)および第2リレー(P1、P2)と、
     前記複数の電池の他方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第3リレー(L1、L2)とを含み、
     前記第2リレー(P1、P2)は、前記抵抗素子(R1、R2)に直列に接続されるとともに、前記第2リレーは、前記抵抗素子とともに前記第1リレー(H1、H2)に並列に接続され、
     前記制御装置は、前記第2リレーおよび前記第3リレーをオンして前記抵抗素子を経由する前記通電経路を形成した状態で前記循環電流を検出し、前記循環電流に基づいて判定した前記電圧の大小関係に応じて前記第1、第2および第3リレーを制御して前記複数の電池と前記電気負荷との接続状態を切り替える、請求の範囲第2項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  5.  前記制御装置は、前記接続状態を、前記複数の電池のいずれか1つが前記電気負荷に接続される状態、および、前記複数の電池の2つ以上が前記電気負荷に並列に接続される状態のいずれかの状態に切り替える、請求の範囲第4項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  6.  前記制御装置は、前記車両の走行制御中または前記複数の電池の充電制御中に前記接続状態を切り替える、請求の範囲第4項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  7.  前記制御装置は、前記車両の走行制御中に、前記複数の電池のうちの電圧の高い電池の電力から消費されるように前記接続状態を切り替える、請求の範囲第6項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  8.  前記制御装置は、前記複数の電池の充電制御中に、前記複数の電池のうちの電圧の低い電池から充電されるように前記接続状態を切り替える、請求の範囲第6項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  9.  前記制御装置は、前記車両の走行制御中または前記複数の電池の充電制御中に前記複数の電池をそれぞれ流れる複数の電流に基づいて前記複数の電池間を電流が循環している循環状態であるか否かを判定し、前記循環状態であると判定した場合に前記循環電流を検出する、請求の範囲第1項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  10.  前記複数の電池は、第1電池(B1)および第2電池(B2)で構成され、
     前記制御装置は、前記第1電池を流れる第1電流の絶対値と前記第2電池を流れる第2電流の絶対値との差が第2判定値よりも小さいという第1条件と、前記第1電流および前記第2電流のうちの一方の電流が放電方向に流れかつ他方の電流が充電方向に流れるという第2条件との双方の条件が成立した場合に、前記循環状態であると判定する、請求の範囲第9項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  11.  前記複数の電池は、第1電池(B1)および第2電池(B2)で構成され、
     前記車両は、前記第1電池の一方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第1リレー(H1、P1)と、前記第2電池の一方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第2リレー(H2、P2)とをさらに備え、
     前記開閉回路は、
     前記第1電池の他方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第3リレー(L1)と、
     前記第2電池の他方の極と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第4リレー(L2)とを含み、
     前記抵抗素子(R3)は、前記第1電池の一方の極および前記第1リレーの間の点と前記第2電池の一方の極および前記第2リレーの間の点とを結ぶ接続線上に設けられる、請求の範囲第1項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  12.  前記複数の電池は、第1電池(B1)および第2電池(B2)で構成され、
     前記車両は、
     前記第1電池と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第1コンバータ(121-1)と、
     前記第2電池と前記電気負荷との間に設けられる第2コンバータ(121-2)とをさらに備え、
     前記制御装置は、前記開閉回路、前記第1コンバータおよび前記第2コンバータを制御して前記通電経路を形成する、請求の範囲第1項に記載の車両の電力制御装置。
  13.  電気負荷(120、130)に並列に接続される複数の電池(B1、B2)と、前記複数の電池間を結ぶ通電経路上に設けられた開閉回路(P1、L1、P2、L2)および抵抗素子(R1、R2、R3)とを備えた車両の制御装置(300)が行なう電力制御方法であって、
     前記通電経路を形成するように前記開閉回路を制御するステップと、
     前記通電経路を閉じた状態で前記複数の電池間を流れる循環電流を検出するステップと、
     前記循環電流に基づいて前記複数の電池間の電圧差を判定するステップとを含む、車両の電力制御方法。
