L'invention concerne une machine à laver (1, 2) dotée d'un boîtier (3), d'une cuve de lavage fixe (4), d'un tambour (5) monté de manière à pouvoir tourner dans la cuve de lavage (4) et d'un moteur d'entraînement (6) pour le tambour (5), la machine à laver (1, 2) comprenant une pompe à chaleur (7, 8, 9, 10) comportant un évaporateur (9) et un condenseur (7). La présente invention concerne par ailleurs un procédé permettant de faire fonctionner ladite machine à laver.
