 しかしながら、上記技術では、断面耐力や曲げ剛性を向上させることにより変形を抑制させてはいるが、衝突時等において大きな荷重が伝達され、部材が変形した場合において、変形後の部材がどのように荷重を伝達するかについては考慮されていない。上記技術では、衝突時において荷重が加わったときに、部材がどのように変形するか予測できない。したがって、上記技術では、衝突時等における荷重の伝達が不安定である。そのため、上記技術では、衝突時における衝撃の吸収や部材の破断の防止が不十分である。
 本発明は、このような事情を考慮してなされたものであり、その目的は、衝突時等に車両にかかる荷重を低減することが可能な車両骨格部材を提供することにある。
 本発明は、車両の骨格を形成する車両骨格部材であって、車両骨格部材は、荷重により屈曲させられたときに、車両内の隣接する部材と接触する接触面が形成される接触部を備える車両骨格部材である。

 接触部14が形成されている付近のフロントサイドメンバ10Rは、他の箇所よりも板厚、材質及び形状等が異なる。そのため、接触部14が形成されている付近のフロントサイドメンバ10Rは、他の箇所よりも断面耐力が弱く、脆弱であり、前後方向の荷重によって折れ曲がり易くされている。
 図2のA-A線断面視である図3及び図2のB-B線断面視である図4に示すように、接触部14では、ハット形鋼材12が、点P3,P4,P7及びP8に係る折れ線部17で、フロントサイドメンバ10Rの外側に折り曲げられている。一方、接触部14では、ハット形鋼材12が、点P1,P2,P5及びP6に係る折れ線部17で、フロントサイドメンバ10Rの内側に折り曲げられている。点P1~P2間の長さはL1とされている。点P1~P3間及び点P2~P4間の長さはL2とされている。点P5~P6間の長さはL3とされている。点P5~P37及び点P6~P8間の長さはL4とされている。
 以下、本実施形態のフロントサイドメンバ10Rの作用について説明する。図5に示すように、車両前方での衝突による荷重Fが車両前方から伝達されると、フロントサイドメンバ10Rは、接触部14付近で車両の内側に折れ曲がる。曲がりの外側となるハット形鋼材12には張力が加わるため、接触部14はフロントサイドメンバ10Rの外側に突出して接触面18が形成される。
 図5のA-A線断面視である図6及び図2のB-B線断面視である図7に示すように、形成される接触面18は、略平面をなす。接触面18が突出するだけで、点P1~P2間の長さはL1、点P1~P3間及び点P2~P4間の長さはL2、点P5~P6間の長さはL3、並びに点P5~P37及び点P6~P8間の長さはL4のまま維持される。反対側のフロントサイドメンバ10Lも同様の作用を有する。
 図8に示すような従来のフロントサイドメンバ10Rでは、図9に示すように、衝突による荷重Fが車両前方から伝達されると、屈曲したフロントサイドメンバ10Rは、接触点Pcにおいて、隣接するエンジン4等の車両内の部材に点で接触する。その結果、図10に示すように、フロントサイドメンバ10Rの断面は崩壊し、屈曲したフロントサイドメンバ10Rとエンジン4との接触は安定しない。そのため、フロントサイドメンバ10Rからエンジン4への荷重Fの伝達は不安定になる。
 一方、図11に示す本実施形態のフロントサイドメンバ10Rでは、図12に示すように、衝突による荷重Fが車両前方から伝達されると、屈曲したフロントサイドメンバ10Rは、接触部14に形成される接触面18において、隣接するエンジン4等の車両内の部材に面で接触する。その結果、屈曲したフロントサイドメンバ10Rとエンジン4との接触は安定する。そのため、フロントサイドメンバ10Rからの荷重Fの一部である荷重Fがエンジン4に安定して伝達される。なお、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rの折れ曲がる量は、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rが折れ曲がった後に、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rがエンジン4等の隣接する部材に接触するまでに変形する距離が最短距離になるように設定される。
 また、接触部14付近の車両を構成するエンジン4等の部材の形状が単純な平面でない場合は、フロントサイドメンバ10R及び接触部14の荷重Fによる変形後の形状が変形する前のエンジン4等の形状に合うような凹凸部が形成されるようにすることができる。
 本実施形態によれば、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rが車両の前後方向からの衝突により屈曲させられたときに、接触部14に形成される接触面18により、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rは車両内の隣接する部材と点ではなく面で接触するため、前後方向からの衝突の荷重が隣接するエンジン4等の部材により安定して伝達され、衝突時等の荷重を効率良く分散させて和らげる効果を向上させることができる。また、屈曲させられたフロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rは、車両内の隣接するエンジン4等の部材と点ではなく面で安定して接触するため、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rの予期しない破断等の可能性を低下させることができる。
 また、本実施形態によれば、接触部14では、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rが荷重により屈曲させられたときに、車両内の隣接するエンジン4の形状に沿った接触面18が形成される。これにより、屈曲させられたフロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rは、車両内の隣接するエンジン4の形状に沿った接触面18で接触する。このため、硬く質量が大きいエンジン4に衝突時等の荷重を安定して伝達することにより、衝突時等の荷重を効率良く分散させて和らげる効果をさらに向上させることができる。
 また、接触部14は、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rの表面を構成するハット形鋼材12であり、通常時には、ハット形鋼材12が折れ線部17に沿ってフロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rの内側に凹んだ状態であり、フロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rが荷重により屈曲させられたときに、ハット形鋼材12が折れ線部17に沿ってフロントサイドメンバ10L,10Rの外側に突出して接触面18が形成される。そのため、簡単な構造で確実に接触面18が形成される接触部14とできる。
 以下、本発明の第2実施形態について説明する。以下の第2実施形態では、本発明の車両骨格部材を車両後部の側端部の骨格を形成するリアサイドメンバに適用した例について説明する。図13に示すように、左側のリアサイドメンバ20Lを車両外側から車両中央側に向かって見た状態について説明する。リアサイドメンバ20Lは、車両内側の平鋼材11と車両外側のハット形鋼材12とが、接合されることにより構成される。
 ハット形鋼材12には、一対の接触部材15,16が接合されている。図15に示すように、接触部材15,16は、左側後輪のタイヤ7のサスペンション部材8付近に設けられている。サスペンション部材8は、タイヤ7を懸架する円筒形状の部材である。接触部材15,16が形成されている付近のリアサイドメンバ20Lは、他の箇所よりも板厚、材質及び形状等が異なる。そのため、接触部材15,16が形成されている付近のリアサイドメンバ20Lは、他の箇所よりも断面耐力が弱く、脆弱であり、前後方向の荷重によって折れ曲がり易くされている。
 以下、本実施形態のリアサイドメンバ20Lの作用について説明する。図14に示すように、車両後方での衝突による荷重Fが車両後方から伝達されると、リアサイドメンバ20Lは、接触部材15,16付近で車両の外側に折れ曲がる。曲がりの外側となるハット形鋼材12には張力が加わるため、接触部材15,16はリアサイドメンバ20Lの外側に展開して、サスペンション部材8の円筒形状に沿った部材接触面18が形成される。
 図16に示すように、衝突による荷重Fが車両後方から伝達されると、屈曲したリアサイドメンバ20Lは、接触部材15,16に形成される接触面18において、隣接するサスペンション部材8の部材の形状に沿った曲面で接触する。その結果、屈曲したリアサイドメンバ20Lとエンジン4との接触は安定する。そのため、リアサイドメンバ20Lからの荷重Fの一部である荷重Fがサスペンション部材8に安定して伝達される。なお、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rの折れ曲がる量は、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rが折れ曲がった後に、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rがサスペンション部材8等の隣接する部材に接触するまでに変形する距離が最短距離になるように設定される。
 また、接触部材15,16付近の車両を構成するサスペンション部材8等の部材の形状が単純な円筒形状や曲面でない場合は、フロントサイドメンバ10R及び接触部材15,16の荷重Fによる変形後の形状が変形する前のサスペンション部材8等の形状に合うような凹凸部が形成されるようにすることができる。
 本実施形態によれば、接触部材15,16では、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rが荷重により屈曲させられたときに、車両のタイヤ7を懸架する筒状のサスペンション部材8に接触する曲面である接触面18が形成される。このため、車両のタイヤ7を懸架するために強度が高いサスペンション部材8に衝突時等の荷重を安定して伝達することにより、衝突時等の荷重をさらに効率良く分散させて和らげる効果をさらに向上させることができる。
 また、接触部材15,16は、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rの表面に設けられた部材である。通常時には、接触部材15,16が畳まれた状態であり、リアサイドメンバ20L,20Rが荷重により屈曲させられたときに、接触部材15,16が展開して接触面18が形成される。そのため、簡単な構造で確実に接触面18が形成されるものとできる。
 以上、本発明の実施の形態について説明したが、本発明は、上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく種々の変形が可能である。
 本発明の車両骨格部材によれば、衝突時等の荷重を効率良く分散させて和らげる効果を向上させることができる。また、車両骨格部材の予期しない破断等の可能性を低下させることができる。

Claims (7)

  1.  車両の骨格を形成する車両骨格部材であって、
     前記車両骨格部材は、荷重により屈曲させられたときに、前記車両内の隣接する部材と接触する接触面が形成される接触部を備える車両骨格部材。
  2.  前記接触部では、前記車両骨格部材が荷重により変形したときに、前記車両内の隣接する部材の形状に沿った前記接触面が形成される、請求項1に記載の車両骨格部材。
  3.  前記車両骨格部材は、前記車両の側端部において前記車両の前後方向に伸びるサイドメンバである、請求項1又は2に記載の車両骨格部材。
  4.  前記接触部では、前記車両骨格部材が荷重により屈曲させられたときに、前記車両のエンジンに接触する平面である前記接触面が形成される、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の車両骨格部材。
  5.  前記接触部では、前記車両骨格部材が荷重により屈曲させられたときに、前記車両の車輪を懸架する筒状のサスペンション部材に接触する曲面である前記接触面が形成される、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の車両骨格部材。
  6.  前記接触部は、前記車両骨格部材の表面を構成する板材であり、
     通常時には、前記板材が折れ線に沿って前記車両骨格部材の内側に凹んだ状態であり、
     前記車両骨格部材が荷重により屈曲させられたときに、前記板材が前記折れ線に沿って前記車両骨格部材の外側に突出して前記接触面が形成される、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の車両骨格部材。
  7.  前記接触部は、前記車両骨格部材の表面に設けられた接触部材であり、
     通常時には、前記接触部材が畳まれた状態であり、
     前記車両骨格部材が荷重により屈曲させられたときに、前記接触部材が展開して前記接触面が形成される、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の車両骨格部材。
