- the mode determination unit 20x determines the output mode based on the input from the user, that is, based on the selection of the output mode by the user or the designated area input by the user.

Abstract
Description
図1に、ナビゲーション装置1の概略構成を示す。図1に示すように、ナビゲーション装置1は、自立測位装置10、GPS受信機18、システムコントローラ20、ディスクドライブ31、データ記憶ユニット36、通信用インタフェース37、通信装置38、表示ユニット40、音声出力ユニット50及び入力装置60を備える。
次に、システムコントローラ20が実行する処理について説明する。概略的には、システムコントローラ20は、搭載車両の使用者が既に知っている道路(以後、単に「既知道路」とも呼ぶ。)を走行する場合には、使用者にとって不要な機能を抑制すると共に、使用者にとって有益な情報を積極的に表示する。このようにすることで、システムコントローラ20は、使用者の知っている道か否かに応じてより適切な出力を行い、利便性を向上させる。
次に、図3及び図4を参照して本実施例で表示ユニット40が出力する表示画面について説明する。以後の説明では、ナビゲーション装置1は、一例としてタッチパネル方式による入力を受け付けるものとする。
次に、本実施例でシステムコントローラ20が実行する処理手順について図5を用いて説明する。図5は、本実施例でシステムコントローラ20が実行する処理手順を示すフローチャートの一例である。システムコントローラ20は、図5に示すフローチャートの処理を、所定の周期に従い繰り返し実行する。
以下、本実施例の各変形例について説明する。なお、これらの各変形例は、任意に組み合わせて上述の実施例に適用することが可能である。
図2の説明では、モード判定部20xは、使用者からの入力に基づき、即ち使用者による出力モードの選択又は使用者により入力された指定地域に基づき、出力モードを決定していた。しかし、本発明が適用可能な方法は、これに限定されない。これに代えて、又は、これに加えて、モード判定部20xは、これらの使用者からの入力によらず自動的に出力モードを決定してもよい。
図2及び図4の説明では、システムコントローラ20は、目的地等が設定され、経路案内を開始しているときに、有益情報を拡大して又は新たに表示していた。これに加えて、システムコントローラ20は、目的地等が設定されていない場合であっても、出力モードが既知道路走行モードの場合には有益情報を拡大して又は新たに表示してもよい。この場合、例えば、システムコントローラ20は、有益情報として、例えばエンジン起動後から現在までの経過時間(運転時間)や現在地等のイベント情報等を表示する。これによっても、本発明を好適に適用することができる。
図2等の説明では、有益情報提示部20zは、地図画面表示中に限り、有益情報を拡大して又は新たに表示していた。これに加えて、有益情報提示部20zは、地図画面表示中以外であっても、有益情報を表示してもよい。この場合、有益情報提示部20zは、地図画面表示中以外での有益情報の表示の有無を使用者に予め指定させてもよく、また、当該表示中の画面の閲覧を妨げないように、地図画面表示中と比べて小さく表示してもよい。

Claims (8)
- 車両に設置されるナビゲーション装置であって、
使用者の既知の道路を前記車両が走行中であるか否かを判定する判定手段と、
前記既知の道路を走行中であると前記判定手段が判定した場合に出力モードを既知道路走行モードに設定し、前記既知の道路を走行中でないと前記判定手段が判定した場合に出力モードを通常モードに設定するモード設定手段と、
通常モードにおいては経路案内に付随した割り込み機能を有効とし、既知道路走行モードにおいては前記割り込み機能を抑制する機能抑制手段と、
既知道路走行モードにおいては、通常モードにおいて表示される複数の情報のうち少なくとも一部の有益情報を通常モード時よりも拡大して表示し、及び/又は、通常モードでは表示されない有益情報を表示する有益情報提示手段と、
を備えることを特徴とするナビゲーション装置。 - 前記判定手段は、外部入力に基づき指定された地域にある道路を前記既知の道路であると判定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のナビゲーション装置。
- 前記判定手段は、外部入力に基づき予め設定されている登録地点から所定距離以内にある道路を前記既知の道路であると判定することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のナビゲーション装置。
- 前記判定手段は、前記車両の走行履歴に基づき前記既知の道路であるか否か判定することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載のナビゲーション装置。
- 前記有益情報提示手段は、目的地又は立寄地の到着予想時刻、出発時刻、出発からの経過時間幅、目的地又は立寄地の天気、交通情報、現在地又は目的地若しくは立寄地のイベント情報のうち少なくともいずれか1つを前記有益情報とすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のナビゲーション装置。
- 車両に設置されるナビゲーション装置により実行される制御方法であって、
使用者の既知の道路を前記車両が走行中であるか否かを判定する判定工程と、
前記既知の道路を走行中であると前記判定工程が判定した場合に出力モードを既知道路走行モードに設定し、前記既知の道路を走行中でないと前記判定工程が判定した場合に出力モードを通常モードに設定するモード設定工程と、
通常モードにおいては経路案内に付随した割り込み機能を有効とし、既知道路走行モードにおいては前記割り込み機能を抑制する機能抑制工程と、
既知道路走行モードにおいては、通常モードにおいて表示される複数の情報のうち少なくとも一部の有益情報を通常モード時よりも拡大して表示し、及び/又は、通常モードでは表示されない有益情報を表示する有益情報提示工程と、
を備えることを特徴とする制御方法。 - 車両に設置されるナビゲーション装置により実行されるプログラムであって、
使用者の既知の道路を前記車両が走行中であるか否かを判定する判定手段と、
前記既知の道路を走行中であると前記判定手段が判定した場合に出力モードを既知道路走行モードに設定し、前記既知の道路を走行中でないと前記判定手段が判定した場合に出力モードを通常モードに設定するモード設定手段と、
通常モードにおいては経路案内に付随した割り込み機能を有効とし、既知道路走行モードにおいては前記割り込み機能を抑制する機能抑制手段と、
既知道路走行モードにおいては、通常モードにおいて表示される複数の情報のうち少なくとも一部の有益情報を通常モード時よりも拡大して表示し、及び/又は、通常モードでは表示されない有益情報を表示する有益情報提示手段、
として前記ナビゲーション装置を機能させることを特徴とするプログラム。 - 請求項7に記載のプログラムを記憶したことを特徴とする記憶媒体。
