Abstract

본 발명은 입력 장치 및 입력 장치의 접촉 위치 검출 방법을 공개한다. 이 장치는 제1 방향으로 배치되고 상기 제1 방향의 접촉 위치에 따라 제1 접촉 신호가 발생되는 복수개의 제1 터치 패턴들과, 상기 제1 방향과 직교하는 제2 방향으로 배치되고 상기 제2 방향의 접촉 위치에 따라 제2 접촉 신호가 발생되는 복수개의 제2 터치 패턴들을 구비하는 터치 패널, 및 상기 제1 및 제2 접촉 신호들에 따라 상기 접촉 위치의 좌표들을 계산하고, 시간에 따른 상기 접촉 위치의 좌표를 저장하는 터치 센서를 구비하고, 상기 터치 센서는 상기 접촉 위치의 수가 적어도 2개이고, 상기 적어도 2개의 접촉 위치의 접촉 시점 사이의 시간 차이가 기준값보다 큰 경우에는 이전에 저장된 접촉 위치의 좌표를 이용하여 실제 접촉 위치의 좌표를 검출하는 제1 센싱 동작을 수행하고, 상기 시간 차이가 상기 기준값보다 작거나 같은 경우에는 상기 접촉 위치에 따라 가변되는 상기 터치 패턴의 임피던스를 이용하여 상기 실제 접촉 위치의 좌표를 검출하는 제2 센싱 동작을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
