Definitions
- the present invention relates to a variable bandwidth communication device and a variable bandwidth communication method, and more particularly to a variable bandwidth communication device capable of changing a passable frequency band in an interval from an input port to an output port through which an incident stream signal passes, and the same communication.
- the present invention relates to a variable bandwidth communication method as a path control method using a device group.
- the photonic network that supports the current backbone network is mainly a group of optical communication devices such as a wavelength division multiplexing transmission device, an optical add / drop device, and an optical cross-connect device, and a transmission path group such as an optical fiber that connects them, and It is composed of a path group such as a wavelength for connecting optical communication apparatuses via a transmission line.
- optical communication devices such as a wavelength division multiplexing transmission device, an optical add / drop device, and an optical cross-connect device
- a transmission path group such as an optical fiber that connects them
- It is composed of a path group such as a wavelength for connecting optical communication apparatuses via a transmission line.
- An optical communication apparatus is mainly configured by an interface having a main signal transmission function and a reception function, a wavelength multiplexer / demultiplexer, a path switching unit such as an optical switch, and a control unit (for example, Non-Patent Document 1). reference).
- the optical communication device on the entrance side of the path converts the main signal received from the client at the interface into an optical signal and outputs it, and appropriately switches the destination of the optical signal output at the path switching unit. Further, in the wavelength multiplexer / demultiplexer, the optical signal groups transmitted to the same adjacent optical communication device are multiplexed and output to the same transmission path. In addition, the optical communication device on the exit side of the path demultiplexes the optical signal group flowing in via the transmission path in the wavelength multiplexer / demultiplexer for each wavelength, and appropriately transmits each optical signal demultiplexed in the path switching unit. Switch to the appropriate destination interface. Further, the optical signal is converted into a main signal at the interface, and the main signal is transferred to the communication device on the client side.
- the optical communication device on the relay side demultiplexes the optical signal group flowing in via the transmission path in the wavelength multiplexer / demultiplexer for each wavelength, and switches the path of the optical signal for each wavelength. Further, in the wavelength multiplexer / demultiplexer, the optical signal groups transmitted to the same adjacent optical communication device are multiplexed and output to the same transmission path.

It is expected to realize further economicization of photonic network of resources (frequency resources).
- the interfaces could not be decoded by overlapping the frequency bands and demultiplexing the combined main signal group or optical signal group for each wavelength.
- conventional wavelength multiplexers / demultiplexers cannot overlap the frequency bands and demultiplex the multiplexed main signal group or optical signal group for each wavelength. Therefore, the main signal group or optical signal group that flows in and out of one transmission path must be designed and managed so that the frequency bands do not overlap, and the conventional interface group is connected to the same transmission path.
- the main signal group or the optical signal group to be output is frequency-controlled in advance so that the frequency bands do not overlap and output to the same transmission line.
- the path switching unit realized by the conventional optical switch has not been able to change the passable frequency band from the input port to the output port of the incident optical signal.

In particular, no device configuration and route control method capable of realizing the route exchange technique described above have been reported. At the same time, as described above, effective use of wavelength resources (frequency resources) in optical fibers has not been realized.

- the network management apparatus 500 and the variable bandwidth communication apparatus 100 may control the path in cooperation with messages other than those shown in FIG. 35 or FIG.
- the guard interval exists in order to compensate the dispersion value between the subcarrier groups constituting the path at the receiving end of the path (Reference 8: Masahiro Morikura, et al. “Trends of IEEE 802.11-compliant wireless LAN”, electronic information communication) Journal paper ⁇ B, Vol.J84-B No.11, pp.1918-1927, 2001, Reference 9: Landau, O, et al. “OFDM Guard Interval: Analysis and Observations”, ICASSP 2007, Vol.3, pp. III -93-III-96, 2007).
- Documents 8 and 9 introduce the role of guard intervals, and Document 9 introduces a guard interval design method.
- the time length of the guard interval depends on the variance value, but the variance value depends on the path distance. For this reason, when the network management apparatus 500 dynamically switches the path, the value of the guard interval must be changed with the change of the path length. If the time length of the guard interval is insufficient with respect to the variance value, the variable bandwidth communication apparatus at the path end cannot correctly decode the received subcarrier group. Therefore, the network management apparatus 500 needs to set the guard interval correctly when setting the path.
- the guard interval need not be changed dynamically. In that case, by using a sufficiently long guard interval, it is possible to keep the guard interval constant regardless of changes in the path length. However, the method of keeping the guard interval constant reduces the data occupancy with respect to the frequency as compared with the method of dynamically controlling the guard interval.
- the guard band is a frequency band for keeping an interval so as not to overlap on the frequency axis when a subcarrier constituting a path and a subcarrier constituting another path are transmitted (reference 9 and literature). 10: Kenichiro Tanaka, et al. “Optical Fiber Transmission Characteristics of WDM / OFDM Hybrid System”, IEICE Transactions Vol. J89-B, No. 8, pp.1431-1440).

- K is an increased bit rate by a code added to the frame of the substream signal for the purpose of error correction, monitoring control, and the like.
- an optical frequency region (k ⁇ fs + 2 ⁇ ) including k subcarrier lights (subcarrier optical frequency interval fs) for the stream signal and two guard bands Bg. Bg) is used to obtain a transfer path that can be used (FIG. 37).
- the guard band Bg is set so that the interval between adjacent subcarrier light beams in the optical path of the stream signal and another optical path is at least twice fs (Bg ⁇ 2 ⁇ fs).
- a stream signal is generated using k subcarrier lights in a region obtained by removing the guard band Bg from the above available optical frequency region.
- the pass band of the stream signal includes the k subcarrier lights, and the overbandwidth Bsw is set to k ⁇ fs ⁇ Bsw ⁇ k ⁇ fs + Bg (2) Set to satisfy.
- an optical path set to the actual traffic capacity of the client is generated at the transmission end, and the pass band in all the band variable communication devices on the optical path route through which the optical path is passed And setting a guard band between adjacent optical paths, it is possible to set an optical path with very high optical frequency utilization efficiency in a network including a variable bandwidth communication device group.
- a guard interval can be added to improve resistance to transmission degradation due to transmission path dispersion (FIGS. 21, 22, and 23).
- the guard interval overhead time Tgi (sec) needs to be set to be longer than the propagation time difference ⁇ T (sec) between the substream signals in the optical path to be set.
- the zero dispersion wavelength ⁇ 0, the chromatic dispersion slope ⁇ (ps / nm 2 / km), and the length L (km) of all optical fibers serving as the transmission lines of the network are measured in advance.
- the transmission time difference ⁇ T (sec) between the substream signals in the optical path route used for transfer is calculated by the following equation from the optical path setting condition obtained above.
- ⁇ T 0.5 ⁇ ⁇ L ⁇ ( ⁇ 1 + k ⁇ fs) ⁇ 0 ⁇ 2 ⁇ 0.5 ⁇ ⁇ L ( ⁇ 1 ⁇ 0) 2 (3)
- ⁇ 1 is the shortest wavelength of the subcarrier.
- the guard interval is set in accordance with the chromatic dispersion characteristics of the optical path route set in the network.
- the guard interval is always the maximum length, but there is an advantage that it is possible to respond quickly because it is not necessary to change the guard interval even if the path characteristic is changed by switching the path to the detour path due to a network failure.

However, the processing flow may be different.
- the interface configuration shown in FIG. 40 can be applied.
- the ground is connected by a parallel path group.
- the opposing band variable communication device group controls the increase / decrease of the band between the ground by increasing / decreasing the number of paths. A clock for transmitting a stream signal from the packet processing unit 132 to the stream transmission / reception unit 133 is input to the packet processing unit 131. Similarly, a clock for transmitting a stream signal from the stream transmission / reception unit 133 to the path switching unit 120 or its clock is input to the stream transmission / reception unit 133.

- the packet processing unit 132 of the interface 130 changes the transmission / reception speed of the stream signal, and the technique described in Non-Patent Document 2 can be used. As shown in FIG. 41, the packet processing unit 132 increases the stream signal transmission / reception speed, thereby widening the frequency band of the stream signal, and the packet processing unit 132 decreases the stream signal transmission / reception speed, The frequency band of the stream signal is narrowed.
- FIG. 42 is a diagram showing the optical frequency utilization efficiency of the prior art and the present invention.
- the pass band of the path of the path switching unit 120 is uniform and fixed (FIG. 42 (a)).
- the pass bandwidth per path for all optical nodes is 100 Gbit / s. It was unified with a fixed pass bandwidth that can pass through. As a result, there is a problem that the optical frequency utilization efficiency is lowered.
- the substream signal bit rate is 10 Gbit / s and the substream signal interval is 25 GHz
- the relationship between the traffic of the conventional optical path and the occupied frequency region is as shown in FIG.
- the optical frequency utilization efficiency is about 40% (100Gbit / s / 250GHz), but it is as low as 4% (10Gbit / s / 250GHz) in the low traffic area.
- the capacity of the optical path (the bit rate of the stream signal) is set according to the traffic volume, and the pass band of the path switching unit according to the optical frequency region of the optical path Since the width can be continuously adjusted, the occupied optical frequency region can be reduced as compared with the conventional case as shown in FIG. Further, since the occupied optical frequency region can be increased in accordance with an increase in the traffic rate to be used as shown in FIG. 43, a constant high optical frequency utilization efficiency can be realized regardless of the traffic rate. For example, when the substream signal bit rate is 10 Gbit / s and the substream signal interval is 25 GHz, the optical frequency utilization efficiency is always about 40% (10 Gbit / s / 25 GHz).
- the substream signal interval can be narrowed because there is an orthogonal relationship between the substream signals. Therefore, the optical frequency utilization efficiency can be further improved than the above. For example, when the bit rate of the substream signal is 10 Gbit / s, multiplexing at an interval of 10 GHz is possible. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 43, the occupied frequency region can be made almost the same as the traffic amount, and the optical frequency utilization efficiency always close to 100% can be realized.

k・fs ≦ Bsw ≦ k・fs + Bg (2)
