- the application of the voltage to the actuator is to apply a voltage between the conductive polymer film part and the counter electrode.

- an anion-driven conductive polymer actuator that moves in the positive direction when a positive voltage is applied is considered. However, when a positive voltage is applied, the displacement is negative.

However, in the cation drive type conductive polymer actuator, when the value of the charge amount measured when the positive charge flows into the control electrode 103 is defined as positive, the displacement charge amount used in the third step S3.
- the converted value is a positive value.
- the displacement when the power supply 93 of FIG. 1 is turned off and the operation is started again is when the time during which the power is turned off is long (for example, 1 minute or more) In some cases, the displacement before the power supply 93 is turned off and the displacement when the operation is started again may be greatly different. On the other hand, when the power supply 93 in FIG. 1 is turned off and the operation is performed again, it is possible to approach the target value by performing the method from the first step S1 to the seventh step S7.
- FIG. 24 is a block diagram in the case of performing the above control method (in this case, description is based on a configuration example of FIG. 17 described later).
- the opening time measuring unit 1600 measures the time during which the power source 93 (or 1507) is turned off, and based on this result, the step control unit 1530 determines a step transition and performs control. Only when the time during which the power supply 93 (or 1507) is off exceeds a certain value, when the method from the first step S1 to the seventh step S7 is performed again when the operation is performed again, the method is constant.
- the time can be arbitrarily set. Fine control is possible as the fixed time is set shorter. For example, in the example shown in FIG. 19, the displacement is changed by about 2 mm when the power is turned off for about 1 hour.
- the rate of change in displacement when the power is off is constant, a change of about 100 ⁇ m occurs in 3 minutes. For this reason, when it is desired to control the displacement with an error of about 100 ⁇ m or less, it is conceivable that the predetermined time is about 3 minutes.
- a method of performing the method from the first step S1 to the seventh step S7 at regular intervals may be used. Since the execution time of the second step S2 and the third step S3 is very short, the display is omitted in FIG. Further, an example is shown in which the power supply voltage is released during a time other than the execution time of the first step S1 to the seventh step S7. Also, current values at times other than the execution time of the first step to the seventh step S7 are omitted.
- step control unit 1530 A method of bringing the displacement of the actuator closer to the target value by performing the method from the first step S1 to the seventh step S7 when determined by the control unit 1530 is also conceivable.
- 14 and 15 show an example in which the magnitude of the change in displacement is 1 mm and the amount of charge flowing is 0.01 C during the time between time t 0 and time t 0 + T.
- the slope of the graph of FIG. 15 is determined as the displacement charge amount converted value.
- the first charge amount component is a component that accumulates in the capacitor component of the actuator and causes displacement of the actuator.
- the second charge amount component is a component that flows through the resistance component of the actuator and is not related to the displacement of the actuator.
- Non-Patent Document 1 it is not practical to always measure the current when the actuator power is off. However, even when the actuator is powered off, the conductive polymer film has a property that the displacement amount slightly changes due to the effect of ion diffusion. Therefore, it is actually impossible to always measure the amount of change in displacement by the method of Non-Patent Document 1.
- an actuator that performs a bending operation has been mainly described.
- the method of the present invention can also be applied to an actuator that performs a linear operation.
- the anion-driven actuator is mainly considered.
