Abstract

Un mélange de ciment de silice ayant une caractéristique isolante, ignifuge et de haute température capable de supporter des températures allant de l'ambiante à plus de 40 000 F sans dégradation de la structure en béton. En plus de ses capacités à haute température, le mélange peut être produit sous forme de béton de poids ultraléger à lourd. Le mélange à base de silice est ajouté à des matériaux cimentaires tels que du ciment Portland, des cendres volantes de classe C, de la silice fumée et d'autres matériaux cimentaires. L'invention concerne également des procédés pour réduire l'endommagement par le feu à l'aide de murs intérieurs/extérieurs de revêtement, d'un plafond et de toits d'un bâtiment avec un revêtement de latex à base d'eau contenant un matériau ignifuge et des silices de faible conductivité thermique. Des procédés pour peindre des murs internes/externes, des plafonds et un toit sont également présentés. Ce revêtement conserve les propriétés de blocage thermique, contenant des silices pyrogènes traitées, expansées et/ou finement broyées et des microsphères en combinaison avec, sans s'y limiter, un, deux ou plus liants de latex de polymère/copolymère à base d'eau et une émulsion de fluoropolymère dans l'eau. Les propriétés combinées de ces éléments créent un revêtement similaire à une peinture avec un niveau élevé de résistance thermique qui ralentit la dissociation de la composition issue des températures extrêmes du feu, et limite la conductivité thermique qui contribue à préserver l'intégrité de la sous-structure ou des matériaux sous-jacents. Les propriétés de ce revêtement réduisent ou ralentissent le potentiel de feu catastrophique en retardant l'embrasement général et en protégeant la sous-structure; ce qui aide les pompiers et le personnel de secours en contribuant à retarder le potentiel d'un feu catastrophique.
