Abstract

본 발명은 방사형 액정 화합물, 이를 포함하는 광학 필름 및 액정 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 에틸렌기에 4개의 페닐이 도입된 테트라페닐에틸렌의 방사형 코어(core)를 포함하는 본원의 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물 및 이를 사용함으로써, 시야각에 따른 색 변화를 최소화시킬 수 있고, 향상된 콘트라스트 비를 가지며, 높은 굴절 이방성을 갖는 광학 필름 및 이를 포함한 액정 디스플레이 장치의 제공이 가능하다.
