Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé pour diviser un tronc d'arbre (12) en produits du bois, procédé selon lequel le tronc d'arbre (12) est scié dans le sens longitudinal au moyen d'une lame de scie à ruban (30), et est pré-traité au moyen d'un outil, en amont de la lame de scie à ruban (30). Selon ce procédé, l'outil produit dans le tronc d'arbre (12), une saignée (48) qui présente, perpendiculairement à la lame de scie à ruban (30), une largeur qui est au moins aussi grande que l'épaisseur du joint de coupe de la lame de scie à ruban (30), et qui présente une profondeur prédéterminée (T) dans le tronc d'arbre (12), en direction de la scie à ruban (30). L'invention est caractérisée en ce que la profondeur (T) est réglée de manière à être sensiblement égale à la moitié de la différence entre le diamètre (D) à l'extrémité la plus épaisse (16) et le diamètre (d) à l'extrémité la plus mince (14) du tronc d'arbre (12).
