図2に伝送制御部3-2において実行される処理動作の第1例を示す。この処理動作の第1例において、伝送制御部3-2は、異常検出部3-3で異常が検出されると(ステップS201)、その異常の種別を判別する(ステップS202)。このステップS202での異常の種別を判別する処理機能が請求項2に記載の発明における異常種別判別手段に対応する。
図5に伝送制御部3-2において実行される処理動作の第2例を示す。この処理動作の第2例において、伝送制御部3-2は、異常検出部3-3で異常が検出されると(ステップS201)、ディップスイッチ7からのバーンアウト信号の選択設定状態を確認する(ステップS302)。このステップS302での処理機能が請求項3に記載の発明におけるバーンアウト信号選択設定状態確認手段に対応する。
上述した実施例1では、バーンアウトH信号とバーンアウトL信号との選択設定を可能とするディップスイッチ7を備えたフィールド機器を例にとって説明したが、異常検出時の伝送路への出力信号をバーンアウトH信号のみとしたフィールド機器についても実施例1で説明した本発明における特徴的な技術を適用することができる。
このフィールド機器101における伝送制御部3-2が実行する処理動作の第1例のフローチャートを図9に示す。この場合、伝送制御部3-2は、異常検出部3-3で異常が検出されると(ステップS401)、その異常の種別を判別する(ステップS402)。ここで、異常の種別がD/A変換器4や電源部6の異常であった場合、バーンアウトH信号を出力することができない可能性が高いと判断し、その異常に対する伝送路Lへの出力信号をバーンアウトL信号とする(ステップS403)。異常の種別がD/A変換器4や電源部6の異常でなかった場合、伝送路Lへの出力信号をバーンアウトH信号とする(ステップS404)。

- 2線式の伝送路を流れる電流の値を所定の電流範囲を通常の調整範囲として計測値に応じて調整する電流値調整手段と、
自己の機器内で生じる各種の異常を検出する異常検出手段と、
この異常検出手段によって異常が検出された場合に、前記通常の調整範囲の上限値を上回るレベルの第1のバーンアウト信号を前記伝送路に出力するのか、前記通常の調整範囲の下限値を下回るレベルの第2のバーンアウト信号を前記伝送路に出力するのかの設定を可能とするバーンアウト方向設定手段と、
前記異常検出手段によって検出された異常に対して前記第1のバーンアウト信号を出力することができるか否かを判断し、前記第1の出力信号を出力することができないと判断した場合、その異常に対して出力する信号を前記第2のバーンアウト信号とするバーンアウト方向変更手段と
