Thereafter, the recording server 103 checks whether or not the stop position of the video data M1 is recorded in the video recording information recording unit 32 when the next reproduction request R3 for the video data M1 is made from the mobile phone 104. If so, distribution of the video data M1 is started from that point.
- the recording server 103 transcodes the moving image of the recorded video data M1 depending on the request of the mobile phone 104,
- the setting values of control parameters such as resolution and bit rate may be changed.
- the transcoding parameter may be changed when the network state of the mobile phone NW 105 changes or when the network performance changes during handover of the mobile phone 104.
- the user uses a function such as a browser of the mobile phone 104 to access the recording server 103 via the mobile phone NW 105 and starts the deletion process.
- the recording server 103 is notified of the authentication information D2 including any one of the user ID, the mobile phone terminal ID or other identifier, the password, or a plurality thereof, together with the access request R1.
- the recording server 103 receives the access request R1 from the mobile phone 104 by the communication unit 10 via the mobile phone NW 105 (step St31), and the user authentication unit 22 authenticates the user who made the access request R1.
- the user is authenticated by collating D2 with the user authentication information D2 registered in the authentication information recording unit 33 (step St32).
- the recording server 103 rejects the access request R1 from the user and ends.
- step St32 YES
- the recording server 103 sends the deletion request R4 of the video data M1 transmitted from the mobile terminal 104 and the deletion information necessary for the deletion via the mobile phone NW105.
- This deletion information includes an identifier of the user and an identifier capable of specifying the program of the video data M1 reserved for recording.
- the recording server 103 uses the deletion unit 25 to delete the control flag (hereinafter referred to as “deletion flag”) that has been deleted in the recording-related data in the recording information D1 of the authenticated user recorded in the recording information recording unit 32. Is added (step St34).
- the deletion flag is assigned by setting (setting a flag) the flag value from “0” (OFF: none) to “1” (ON: existence), for example.
- the recording server 103 refers to the user's recording information D1 recorded in the recording information recording unit 32 by the deletion unit 25, and has made all recording reservations for the specified program of the video data M1. It is confirmed whether or not the deletion flag is attached to the data relating to the recording reservation in the recording information D1 of the user (step St35). As a result, when it is confirmed that the deletion flag is attached to the data related to the recording reservation in the recording information D1 of all users (YES), it is determined that all users have deleted, and the recording server 103 25, the corresponding video data M1 is deleted from the recorded data of the video data recording unit 31 (step St36).
- the recording server 103 automatically deletes the recorded video data M1 after a certain period of time after recording or video data that has been played back in order to reduce the size of data to be stored. Only M1 is deleted after a certain period from playback. For example, the recording server 103 checks the date of the video data M1 stored in the video data recording unit 31 at a constant cycle, and performs deletion processing of the video data M1 if it is before a predetermined time.
- the video data M1 distributed from the distribution server 101 is not recorded on the mobile phone 104 itself, but is recorded on the mobile phone NW 105, which is accessible from the mobile phone 104.
- the video data M1 is distributed from the recording server 103 to the mobile phone 104 by unicast each time.
- the video data M1 distributed from the distribution server 101 to the mobile phone using any one of multicast, broadcast, and unicast is transmitted to the mobile phone NW105 regardless of the limitations of the mobile phone 104. It is possible to record with the above recording server 103 and watch it at different times. That is, in this embodiment, the IP multicast and IP broadcast video distribution contents for the mobile phone can be stabilized without worrying about the storage capacity of the recording device of the mobile phone 104, the radio wave environment, and the remaining battery level. It becomes possible to record and watch with time shift.
- the recording server (recording / reproducing apparatus) of the video distribution system for mobile phones can realize each process (function) of the above-described components (communication unit 10, control unit 20, recording unit 30).
- the physical configuration of the device and the hardware and software configuration inside the device are not particularly limited. For example, configuring individual program components such as individual circuits or units or program modules independently for each component, or configuring a plurality of components together in one circuit or unit, etc. Any form is applicable. These forms may be appropriately selected, changed, modified, etc. according to restrictions on functions and applications of devices actually used.
- an operation method of an apparatus that performs the same processing as each function corresponding to each function of the above-described components is also included in the scope of the present invention.
- each function of the above-described components may be realized by software processing by a computer configured by a processing device such as a microprocessor having a CPU.
- a program for causing a computer to function is included in the category of the present invention.
- This program is not limited to a program in a format that can be directly executed by the CPU, but includes a program in various forms such as a source format program, a compressed program, and an encrypted program.
- this program operates in cooperation with a control program such as an OS (operating system) and firmware that controls the entire apparatus, or is incorporated in a part thereof and constitutes an application program that operates integrally. Any form such as a software component (software module) can be provided.
- the program can be downloaded from an external node such as a server on the network, installed on a recording medium in the own apparatus, and used. These forms may be appropriately selected, changed, modified, etc. according to circumstances such as the function and application of the apparatus actually used.
- a computer-readable recording medium in which the above program is recorded is also included in the scope of the present invention.
- the recording medium can be applied in any form, such as a fixed type that is fixed in the apparatus and a portable type that can be carried by the user.
- the present invention is not necessarily limited to this and can be applied to other terminal devices such as a PDA.
