Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Fräsmaschine (1) zum Fräsen zumindest einer Oberfläche (2) einer Bramme (3), wobei die Fräsmaschine (1) vorzugsweise Bestandteil einer Vorrichtung zum Herstellen eines Metallbandes durch Stranggießen ist, wobei die Fräsmaschine (1) einen Maschinengrundkörper (4) aufweist, auf dem eine Spindelhalterung (5) angeordnet oder aus dem eine Spindelhalterung (5) ausgeformt ist, in der mindestens eine mindestens einen Fräser (6) haltende Lagerung (7) angeordnet ist. Um eine verbesserte Schwingungsdämpfung beim Fräsen heißer Brammen zu erreichen, sieht die Erfindung vor, dass der Maschinengrundkörper (4) zumindest abschnittweise, vorzugsweise vollständig, aus einer Anzahl metallischer Wände (8) gebildet wird, die ein Volumen einschließen, wobei das Volumen mit Beton (9) gefüllt ist.
