Abstract

 本発明は、点火プラグの点火部近傍のガス流速を抑えると共に、点火に適した混合気が、長く滞留させられる筒内噴射型内燃機関を提供する。  本発明の筒内噴射型内燃機関は、燃焼室6の噴射部11と点火部17との間の壁面に、噴射部11から噴射された燃料を直接的に点火部近傍へ向わせる通路25を有して噴射部11から噴射された燃料の一部を反射させて間接的に点火部近傍へ向わせる反射部28を設けた。同構成により、点火に適した混合気が、直接と間接といった2種類の経路がもたらす到達時期の差、さらには反射により点火部へ到達するガス流速が抑えられることにより、点火部近傍に、長い期間、滞留し続ける。
