Abstract

 本発明の液晶セル(50a)は、TFT基板(20a)と、TFT基板(20a)の1辺に沿って規定された端子領域(T)と、端子領域(T)が露出するようにTFT基板(20a)に対向して配置されたCF基板(30a)と、幅広に形成されたシール継ぎ部(S)を有する枠状のシール材(25a)と、シール材(25a)の内側に規定された表示領域(D)と、表示領域(D)の周囲に規定され、シール材(25a)が配置される4辺の額縁領域とを備えている。 シール材(25a)は、4辺の額縁領域のうち最も幅広の1辺の額縁領域において、他の3辺の各額縁領域よりもCF基板(30a)の端部から離間するように配置されていると共に、シール継ぎ部(S)を有している。 本発明によると、シール継ぎ部(S)がCF基板(30a)の端部から離間しているので、液晶セル(50a)の分断不良を抑制することができる。 本発明の液晶セル(50a)は、例えば携帯電話に用いることができる。
